Spams
Tuesday, August 29, 2006 - 06:30 p.m.
Now I have 2 spams in my personal goomail! I don't remember typing that email address anywhere on the Internet for public consumption, so I have no idea how spammers got a hold of that email address. :X I tried very hard at keeping it private, to avoid the invasion of spam to my personal emails, but it still got in! >_<

Is it because spammers were random guessing word combos? Cause it definitely isn't something that can be found in the dictionary, and most of all, it is a word or phrase I made up on my own and bears near no logical meanings.... T_T

Umm... there is one place I can guess at.. but I'll have to double check, and maybe do some changing. I hope the spams will stop (which is unlikely), and if not, goomail better start directly spams better.... >.>

EDIT: Just checked, and the source which I think may be the cause of this, is not. So now back to my scratching of the head to think how and where spammers got the address from.... :X

flying bugs + others ramblings

My nemesis, the mosquito, has entered the house. :X These things are harder to kill than flies. Ever since I came here, I've seen more flies than mosquitos, and even when I do, they weren't as big as the one I saw in the house yesterday. :T The thing is almost as big as the ones I remembered from HK. :( Which is not good for me, coz I'm a natural born mosquito attracter.

I have no idea how it got into the house, and (luckily, in a sense) it seems to just hover around the TV room, but to the best of my knowledge, it should still be in the house. I hope it won't fly upstairs... And since I happened to be in the TV room for quite some time yesterday... you can safely guess that I was bitten. :( This morning when I woke up, I saw 3 red swellings, all at my feet, coz that's most of the exposed skin area. :x Only one of which I knew about before going to bed, coz it started itching already. And this morning it got a little worse to a small blister like form. All 3 of them don't itch now thou, as long as I don't touch them.

So back to my original point, these things are harder to kill than flies. They are smaller in general than flies, and in my opinion they have better reaction time, hence they know to fly away faster. :X A better way I find to killing them is while they're flying, but then again, I'd have to have found them flying within arms' reach first. :( Anyway, I hope it'll be gone or dead soon. I don't want any more mosquito marks on my feet. Not to mention those West Nile viruses threats.... ~_~ Nnnnoooo... Pluto is no more (a planet)! :( It's now a "dwarf planet"? I think I know what the argument is, and why it has to be declared this way. But purely for sentimental reasons, I kinda wish they could've kept it. But then, there's no room for wishy-washy when it comes to these kind of things...

So tired!
Monday, August 21, 2006 - 02:39 p.m.
When I woke up this morning, I was sored all over. I think I must have exerted my exercise limits or something. I was out of town this weekend, forgive me for not telling anyone beforehand, it was out of personal concerns that I see as perfectly reasonable :P. Anyway, I went to an outlet mall, stuffed myself to balloon shape with a buffet, luckily I didn't get sick from being bloated, breathed in enough second-hand smoke to further my dislike of smokers, gambled some non-money money, visited waterfalls, walked and climbed some mountain trails, sweated loads of liquid off and really worked those lazy leg muscles. That about sums up what happened for the two days weekend. Hence, this morning, I felt the muscle pains the moment I woke up, and I slept quite a lot too, to make up for the irregular sleep patterns lately.

I took some pictures, but after reviewing it just now, they don't look that great. If I wanted to show them, I'll probably have to photoshop all of them due to the over or under exposed-ness of them. :T Oh well, at least I took more pictures of people this time, there's still not a lot of me in it thou, b/c I'm the camera-er. I really should search for that sort-of-lost manual to see if I can learn a thing or two about the workings of that little machine. What else, what else, ah! yes, I wanted to mention a bit about some (old) movies I watched recently.

The Pacifier: It was cheese-y fun. Not as funny as I hoped it would, but it can still generate some laughs. Good for a boring day/night when you have nothing interesting to do. Hehe.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding: I don't really like it, and I can't understand how it got so much hype. There are some laughs, and the side characters were generally interesting, but I can't stand the narrative and the main couple. :x

And here a bit more about P&P: Now that I give it more thoughts, my favourite character in the movie would probably have to be Mr. Collins, I think. He brings the "comedy" and Mr. Darcy brings the "romance". Although, not that other characters didn't bring their own share of funnies into the movie, I just think Mr. Collins outdone everyone else. Heh. :D That's it for this one~ *waves*

Something new? :)
Thursday, August 17, 2006 - 07:50 p.m.
Heh heh, seeing that the mid point of the month has passed already and here in the blog has only one teeny tiny post, and a quiz to boot, I was thinking maybe I should post something so the blog doesn't feel so... empty.

But then again, I don't have anything interesting to report on. Am still jobless and still searching. Though I've been faintly thinking of maybe going back to school to study for something. But I haven't made up my mind yet, would still like to give the job search another push before I give up.

Ah.. kinda stray from the topic there for a sec, well, the something new isn't referring to anything here on the blog, but actually my foto collection (points to the flickr flash at the bottom). Although, I do really have to change something for the blog, since lots of links linked now lead to nowhere. ^^; But anyway, yes, I went to the Chinese Lantern Festival at Ontario Place on.. what was it.. last week I think. Driving there was not as complicated as I thought, and so was parking. :) And the drive back at night was actually not so bad. There were quite a lot more cars on the highway than I expected thou. Maybe it's because it was the weekend.

So, how was it? Quite nice actually, lots of lights to look at. As you can see from the pictures, I went while there was still day light. If you go early, and stay till quite late, you can see two different views of the same lights. I took night shots mostly because only then can you see the pretty colours, some day shots I had turn out sort of dull, maybe it's because there wasn't enough sun.

There was a lot of people there thou. Very crowdy, but also very lively. They have a stage show with Chinese dance, Chinese music, and some lion dance/kungfu-ish stuff. And although the show is around two to three hours long, there's still enough time to walk around the whole ground once. People were just everywhere! I have no idea when the place closes. ^^;

Umm.. what else what else.. :T oh well, I can't think of anything, and it's time for me to make rice. So adios for now, till next time!

The nerd test

Haha. This test is fun to do.
I am nerdier than 79% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

I'm a mid-level nerd. :T I think I may send it to a few people and see how they'll do. /am curious. Heh heh. Although, I really could do without the question about my gpa... >.> Anyway, adios~

Who could this be?
kuu is obviously a creature born sometime ago. Its exact date of existence amuses itself greatly. But kuu itself deems this unnecessary information for the prying public. Hence will forever be unknown to the unknowing.

This writer likes to point out that kuu has an alter ego over here at CocaCola. kuu's nature is rather mean, but does pretend*ahem*attempt to be nice most of the time. It is made of water, mostly blue, and has orange spots. It is also short and round with a big head. Too bad the head size does not correspond with any kind of smarts.

kuu likes colours and pretty things, and dislikes all manners of messyness. As always, it needs to clean its room and do well in school, but things just don't always work out the way it wants it to be.

kuu is not reachable for comments by any normal means, unless you have special knowledge of its other virtual or real selves.

The "family" (haha!) above is from Tada Kaoru-sensei's last manga Itazura na Kiss. An excellent excellent source of information regarding the manga can be found here. As well as the reason why this is the last manga from the mangaka. I tend to treat this manga with respect because of that. And althou it's end is like that, I am glad it is able to end with a world of possibilities.

Tada-sensei's drawing style isn't the prettiest. In fact, it looks to be from such an early era that one may even be turned off by it. However, I simply just adore the story. It is probably the first manga that brought me to tears just by reading the synopsis.

It is very much a typical shoujo story, with a guy who is quite a catch, and a less than average girl pining after him. XD But the best part is it didn't just end at the usual happily ever after. What happened after is much sweeter than the first half. How I wish there is a Naoki for me. :3 Through laughters and tears, you can't help but like/love everyone in the story. Hence the reason why I didn't single out anyone in the picture.

Itazura na Kiss, or ItaKiss, as I tend to call it, ended its run in 1999. It has 23 volumes, both JP and Chinese editions are out. Do give it a read if you can find it. :)
