First off, I mentioned that I wanted to watch The Lake House, but only when it's on TV, or when it gets to dvd. The more time since it opened, the more I think it is the right decision. :P I don't think I've explained why I was drawn to watching it, since, one, I really haven't given it much thought, and two, I don't feel like it would be something I want to watch in theatre. :P So anyway, I couldn't fall asleep early yesterday, coz I took a nap earlier, so my mind was wandering around, and I've concluded that it's probably because of the theme song. XD Anyone who've seen the commercial would know what I'm talking about. Somehow, the commercial, or trailer, didn't make it seem like a sappy tragic romance drama that it sort of supposed to be is. I don't know how to explain it, but it just doesn't register to me as a nauseating hollywood romance movie, like, oh.. i don't know, the sop-fest that is the bridges of madison county (which I've never watched but that's the impression I get from people back in the days...). The song.. just nicely wrapped up the trailer in a ..umm... light, fresh way that makes me think I probably wouldn't get sick of the plot so soon. :P

But really, regarding the story, or the "problem" that faces the guy and the girl in the movie, it is really very solvable if you think about it. I mean, as long as the guy doesn't die between the two years' time, if they really want to meet that badly, they can just arrange the guy to meet in a specific location 2 years in the future and everything will be okay. They'll get to meet finally and be on with their lives! I don't think this is a far-fetched theory, since they can communicate thru letters already, and if they really "love" each other, what's the harm for the guy to wait 2 years in his time to meet? After all, they're still themselves, right? :P

Heh heh, so anyway, I'll wait to see how wrong (or right? ^^;) I am when I get to watch the movie. Have no doubt, I'll watch it (unless I get spoiled first), it's just a matter of when. :P Anothe movie I want to watch is Nanny McPhee :P. I'm hoping it'll be very entertaining. But the lead in to this block of text is supposed to the songs. ^^;;

Lately, I've been watching a lot of world cup football (I'm sorry, but it's football, not soccer, to me. :P). Such is life when you don't feel like doing anything during the day and refuse to watch talk shows and soaps. XD (Oh, and the good thing with WC being in germany is that we're only a few hours apart, and the matches can be watched live during the day. XD) So anyway, since it is the world cup, I get to see quite a bit of commercials from the same few sponsors. (I'm more accustomed to watching football with british-accented english commentators, and naturally I tune to those channels.) And since they are the same ones over and over again, I'm developing certain dislikes and likes for those commercials.

Out of all the ones I've seen, I like this one from adidas where two kids call out their "dream" team of famous football players to play. And again, the song that goes with it is so fun and it makes you want to play too. :) I think that's the only one I like out of the bunch. The others are tolerable and some are just err.. sort of irritating. One that comes to mind is the two guys in a red car going around and around a water fountain in circles until they get dizzy. For me, I don't get what the fun is at all. And they seem way too hyper.... -_-+++ Another one is a b*dweiser commercial where they try to show everyone around the world is enjoying their beer, but what I see is that all the glasses are full, the people depicted are just talking and not drinking! :O Anyway, that's just the way I see it... Yet another one is a r*gers commercial. -_-;; I don't think I've ever liked a single r*gers commecial that is targeted towards my age group. Is it b/c I don't think like my age group? ~_~ Or am I too old already? :T

Alas, my rant is done for the day. :E And I'll sign off with a little call to save the internet. Just doing my minuscule part to bring attention to "net neutrality" and hopefully help save it for the future. I don't think it has reached canada yet, but with the going ons south of the border, I don't think it would be long before the canadian counterparts follow suit. :T I first heard of the issue from my prof, and since then I've read some articles about it, and I think.. as a consumer, net neutrality should be maintained. I don't know how aware people are of this, but I just don't like our current government enough to think they would do the right thing and not side with the $-grabbing telecom ISPs who want to ruin NN. Okay, I'm really done now. Til next time, bye!

I formally graduated a couple of days ago. It was a very tiring day. I pretty much spent the time between then and now resting and recuperating. Traffic to and fro school was hell. And the weather was a lot hotter than I expected, mostly because we were directly under the sun a lot. Me and my family were just baking in the car and since I got quite a lot of sun, my skin tone now has two shades.... >.>

I wish I'd known better and wore comfortable shoes thou, coz it really doesn't matter much what you wear because you're under a robe at all times. But yes, my feet hurts from walking awkwardly and that attributes much to my tiredness.

As for the actual graduation, umm... it was kinda boring, but it didn't go by too slowly, so that was good. I kinda wish I could've taken more pictures thou, or more like, better pictures, and pictures with friends. But after the ceremony, it was purely family time, and I didn't see any people I know around, so ... meh. I just wish I had a better picture taking experience for the day. :T

It was kinda odd that my parents came across some people they know in the lunch time afterwords. Who would've thought? Just goes to show what a small world this is. ^^;;;

Anyway, as I said, I wasn't too happy with my grad pics, not because I was caught with weird poses or anything, but more like they were boring shots of the same thing over and over again. That just gets... well... very boring. So umm, I'll put them up eventually, after I learn how to code the page in the way I want it to. And in the meanwhile, back to my task of beating the heat! Bye~

When is Father's Day exactly? It wasn't last Sunday right? (Coz I was vaguely thinking that it might be.) Comparing to the bombardment of Mother's Day advertising and media coverage, I've been seeing a lot less focus in June for Father's Day. Which brings me think that maybe FD wasn't last Sunday.... Anyway... I've been thinking whether if I should get online acc access to the plastic card's statements. I tend to lean towards it being a convenience, but then I'll also be opening myself up for various kinds of potential id theft. It's kinda like a "no risk, no gain" situation... :T So.. I'll probably think about it more before I decide. That's it for today, tata~

Woot! I got 2 references to put on my resume! Yay! That's really the very slow (and late!) start to my quest for employment! Hopefully I won't get discouraged too fast. Next up is to update my resume. Wheeeee~ *swirls*

google office?!
Tuesday, June 6, 2006 - 02:30 p.m.
There's apparently a google spreadsheet! I was tempted to sign up, but didn't because I don't see myself using it. However, I am waiting for what they'll do with writely. Ever since the news of it being acquired, I had wanted to try the online word processor, especially during my design report writing stage. Looks like the invitations for that will begin early July, so.. can't wait to see if I'll get to try it later in the summer!

As for other recent google additions, I don't have a life yet to fully make use of google calendar, but hopefully in the future it'll be a planner of sort to organize things to do. And while I personally like the goomail photo thing, not many people bothered to put a picture there. :T I guess I could amuse myself and make pictures for everyone, but that's not as fun. Oh well. :T I recently watched this program on tv. It just reinforces my beliefs that there are a lot of creeps out there. _-_ And that I think, there is no such thing as being too careful when interacting with people you come across on the internet. I'm just glad I know to be careful online ever since I got the internet years ago. On a brighter note, I got my fruity shoes. Except! They aren't fruity. Haha. They are still keds, and same style, and they fit! It's just the fabric that is different. They are quite comfy, good for the summer I must say. :) And I got them cheap, so that's a bonus! :) That's it for the beginning of june. Til next time, *waves*~

Who could this be?
kuu is obviously a creature born sometime ago. Its exact date of existence amuses itself greatly. But kuu itself deems this unnecessary information for the prying public. Hence will forever be unknown to the unknowing.

This writer likes to point out that kuu has an alter ego over here at CocaCola. kuu's nature is rather mean, but does pretend*ahem*attempt to be nice most of the time. It is made of water, mostly blue, and has orange spots. It is also short and round with a big head. Too bad the head size does not correspond with any kind of smarts.

kuu likes colours and pretty things, and dislikes all manners of messyness. As always, it needs to clean its room and do well in school, but things just don't always work out the way it wants it to be.

kuu is not reachable for comments by any normal means, unless you have special knowledge of its other virtual or real selves.

What could this be?
The "family" (haha!) above is from Tada Kaoru-sensei's last manga Itazura na Kiss. An excellent excellent source of information regarding the manga can be found here. As well as the reason why this is the last manga from the mangaka. I tend to treat this manga with respect because of that. And althou it's end is like that, I am glad it is able to end with a world of possibilities.

Tada-sensei's drawing style isn't the prettiest. In fact, it looks to be from such an early era that one may even be turned off by it. However, I simply just adore the story. It is probably the first manga that brought me to tears just by reading the synopsis.

It is very much a typical shoujo story, with a guy who is quite a catch, and a less than average girl pining after him. XD But the best part is it didn't just end at the usual happily ever after. What happened after is much sweeter than the first half. How I wish there is a Naoki for me. :3 Through laughters and tears, you can't help but like/love everyone in the story. Hence the reason why I didn't single out anyone in the picture.

Itazura na Kiss, or ItaKiss, as I tend to call it, ended its run in 1999. It has 23 volumes, both JP and Chinese editions are out. Do give it a read if you can find it. :)
