hurricanes - 10:31 a.m.

Why is it almost always female??? _-_ Why not name one a Hurricane George? Or better yet, Hurricane Bush, huh?? _-_ I have some beefs I wanna say. With the disaster done by Hurricane Katrina, CNN or CNBC, or those news channels of the like, are concerned of oil prices??? I was watching a bit of CNN or CNBC yesterday, and all I saw was some financial people taking about the affects of the hurricane on oil prices, and whether or not the bush government should ration oil prices, by ration, I guess it means control so they won't go sky rocket. Granted, I understand the toll on everyone if oil prices go higher and higher everyday. And I'm not saying that they shouldn't talk about oil, coz honestly, I don't like seeing it expensive any more than you do. However, why are they not concerned of how to prevent such disaster from happening again? All I've been reading and seeing in the news are: 80% of New Orleans underwater, people's home swept away, and last but not least, always, oil prices up the roof... Well, how about more efficient rescues and evacuations resources? or a more effective warning system? and generally, just better preventive measures!

Why am I beefing? I was reading this TO Stars article (please do register and read it), and I soo totally agree with everything she says. Everyone knows that the bush government refuse to join the Kyoto Protocol to reduce greenhouse gases. And you know what, maybe they should rethink their stand. Global warming is not going to go away if the world keeps on using power/electricity like we do today. Hurricanes like these will just become more frequent in the future, many have warned of this already. And yet, no one seems to be doing anything to make a better environment. Isn't the many hurricanes last year enough for those ppl in Florida? Aren't they fed up with having to evacuate a few times every summer, and risk getting flooded? Maybe there are someone concerned and are trying to raise awareness/make changes, but their voices are clearly not loud enough. Or, is it that people just don't care about natural disasters, what with all the $$ going into the war on terror??? :/ And something funny I read, was one governor asking people to "pray"... _-_;;; Yes, pray for the dead, that I understand, and yes, pray for the living as well so they get (spiritual)relief as soon as possible. However, in addition to praying, how about giving some practical reassurances? like how your government is providing relief for the people? or something like that.

I know I complain a lot, and that I maybe a little too harsh on the "praying" part, since they're dealing with life and death there and it's very mind blowing/numbing having to deal with things at this scale. But, I'll still like to point out that, unless someone do something to help the environment, like reduce emission of greenhouse gases, the air is just going to keep swirling into typhoons and hurricanes.

Oh, and if you agree with my rant above, please go here. :P I'm not a fan of the Hummer, not because I'm poor or jealous, but precisely because of the reasons stated on the home page + what I'm saying below. I understand some people do need such a vehicle, but I HIGHLY doubt such a thing is needed in urban city life. Plus, it's so big that it blocks the view of the road from all cars and pedestrians alike. Please be considerate of others and the scared little car drivers like me!

quiz result - 02:49 p.m.

Dateable quiz, got the exact same result as H! XD I'm thinking this quiz is wonky. The answers to those questions are downright weird. It's like picking between dog poo or bird poo, the answer is obviously NONE OF THE ABOVE! Anyway, hope no one took this quiz seriously, coz the results couldn't be more wrong.

orient express - 06:38 p.m.

There is such a train called Orient-Express. :O But it is in Europe. Apparently it's some luxury train vacation thing that takes you from one city to another. Like Paris to Istanbul. Hmm... interesting. If I can afford the train ride, I think I'll be interested in seeing the scenaries from onboard a train. But then, if I have the $$ to take that train ride, I think I'll rather go to Japan first. :P B/c in comparison, Japan is much cheaper (I think).... :)

Which File Extension are You?

Comments: Hahaha. Not very accurate. I don't think I'm too weird... >.> But I'm definitely not "cool and happpening". XD Haha.

---

So I was catching up on people's blogs... And... I have a petpeeve... >.> with seeing Firefox being refer to as "ff"... >.> and Internet Explorer as "ie"... [ I was going to write reasons on why here, but I edited them out coz I want to. You'll all just know that it is a peeve, albeit a small one, of mine. ] And, I do have some comments for the IE vs FF thingy thingy, but don't think I'll voice it here on bloggy either. My brain is not as eloquently sound as others to write down meaningful stuffs.

Hmm hmm.. speaking on bloggy, that's this article on today.. urr..(I think actually) Sunday's newspaper (I was catching up on Sat. and Sun.'s paper today) and the whole thing was composed of the word "blog" and variations of it like bllogg, blogg, bloggy, etc etc. So the whole thing is "blog" basically. It has no meaning whatsoever (to me), I personally have NO idea what the point of it was, except to guess that it is there to 1) fill column space, 2) show/mock how a blog entry looks like, or 3) trying to be funny? :O I don't know.. I just didn't like it, I fail to see why it has to be there on the newspaper.

Anyway, night all~ *wave*

food - 07:34 p.m.

Oh, and I just made curry fish balls again, and now the whole house smells like curry.... >.> I already opened (some of)the windows, but I think the whole ground floor still smells like curry. In fact, since I'm the one who made them, my whole person smells like curry. Oro... :o

Anyway, I hope the smell will subside soon. :p But not the say that I don't like curry fish balls. :D I had to substitude some ingredients but I hope they turn out tasty like last time. XD

out again - 07:03 p.m.

So yes, I went out of the country again. For just 2 days this time. And strangely enough, I think I'm more tired this time around. :/ I'm still trying to regain some rest. Went to a casino again, b/c it's one of those trips, and the smoke smell was making me dizzy dizzy @@. Ate at the buffet there, the food were okay, not as much selections as I'd like, not enough veggies for sure. But I ate a lot of crabs... >.> Well, not as much as some on our table, but enough for me. We actually just took 2 plates, but a table we know didn't want their plate, so they gave them to us and we ended up with 3. :x So needless to say, we couldn't finish them. Such a waste thou :x I did the best I could not to waste food, but no one else could eat them anymore. And, I learned first hand what putting salt on a wound means. B/c the crabs were salty (one of the reasons I couldn't eat a lot), there's salty water coming out of the shells when you break them, so these salty water went onto my fingers, where one happened to have this sensitive skin problem that was just starting to break out. So now the skin on that finger is rough and dry. It didn't hurt or anything, just very itchy. I'll have to be careful to not irritate it again, otherwise it's going to take a long time for it to get back to normal.

So hmm, I'm out of touch with the world for 2 (make it 3 b/c I'm resting today) days... I did wake up in time to watch the end of the World Youth Day mass Sunday morning, and an encore presentation of the urm.. celebration(?) of the Eucharist (I think it was that, but I'm not sure coz I caught it as it was finishing as well) the night before. There's this channel in the US that showed them, and since I couldn't go to church on Sunday, I hope I made up for that by at least watching what I could of World Youth Day. :O I wish I could've get up earlier on Sunday thou, then I could've watch more, but I didn't want to wake up other people at 5/6 in the morning, so I wait till most of them were awake and up to turn on the TV.

And now that I'm back, it is back to routine! But first I gotta look into some school stuffs...

more trouble - 05:55 p.m.

like it says, more trouble with course selections... apparently you should be able to add the *** courses as of yesterday, as I was told in the email i got from the undergrad office... :x But I still can't add them. The person said there are some glitches that needs to be resolved first.. and I was like _-_ what? when will that be done?!?! will I be notified??? I don't even know if I'm the only one affected, if yes, then I'm gonna be really pissed if I can't add my courses. This scheduling thingy has caused me enough grief as it is. So now, I'm really worry that I won't be able to add those courses.. coz if I can't, my schedule is screwed for winter.

sales ad - 06:08 p.m.

So umm... >.> anyone or anyone anyone knows would like to buy a car for $1000? :o It still runs on the road... And if you fix it up, I'm pretty sure it'll live 3+ yrs or more, given regular and proper maintenance. Contact me if you do!

EDIT: okay, no more car for sale now.

z_z - 03:41 a.m.

Course selection is in a few hours, and I am sleepy. But if I go to sleep right now, I won't be able wake up to do course selection. So, what to do? what to do? Mind you, I'm not living in a screwed up timeframe right now, I just choose to stay up b/c I know I won't be able to get up in time no matter when I slept. But.. I guess I'm not as okay with this as I thought, since, I'm reeally sleepy and want to sleep. Now! :x Just you wait, once I get this done, I'm calling ŽüŒö right away!

I have all my courses figured out I think. But am still debating on some scheduling times, like whether if I want to have this in morning, or afternoon, beginning or end of week, wishy washy stuffs like that. But that's mostly just for winter, fall is pretty set. Right now my tentative schedule has food time for everyday, so that's one good thing about it. I don't have to starve. But there's more night course hours than I'd like. :T I don't mind nights, if it is at summer, still nice and bright out. but winter nights are cold and dark, and the snow. :T I don't mind my JP night classes before b/c I have a direct path to the subway, meaning I can go from classroom to station without setting one step outside. but now, I'll have to step outside to face the cold! >.<

*sighs*.. I'm tired.. maybe I'll just go rest a bit... :x

EDIT: Okay, now is a few hours later. The system is very slow again, i started right on the dot and was just done. I'm 90% done it actually. A few courses' selection doesn't start until next week, hence the 10% missing. I noticed that some of my chosen times aren't popular :x, so now I'm a little worried for partners for labs and the like if there are going to be groups assns.... oh well.. I'll check later to see how things filled up. ppl do sign up pretty fast thou, some sections are already down to single numbers when I was done getting all i could for this week. And now, off to bed I go! ZZzzzz.....

firefox extensions - 04:11 p.m.

I created a new profile on firefox the other day, b/c something was not working and I was trying to see if a new profile would fix it. And it did! So then I proceed to reinstall all my extensions and themes. One new extension I added was flashblock and ever since I had it, I don't know how I could ever live(surf) without it. :D It is really very handy, along with adblock. With both these extensions, I'd think you've probably block about 80% of the ads out there. Especially if you read news on the internet, which I often do; I never knew these flash ads are just everywhere! Anyway, go get these two extensions if you don't already have them. :D

I also tried the noscript extension, but it just proved to be too much hassle for me. :P Many of the sites I visit use javascripts and I'm too lazy to give permission/whitelist everyone as they come along. :D

*fumes* - 04:05 p.m.

BLAST IT! Soft Eng is really Fall only. And yes, 6-9 Mon is it. *swears* That means I'll be getting home at 10.30 every monday from now on, if I don't end up skipping the class altogether. And, that also means, it will be VERY likely that I can't continue on my Japanese class. *@#&%$ some more* I can already see myself dragging myself back home late on Monday night and be exhausted. I'm exhausted just thinking about how tired I will be! Sucks...

What kind of scheduling people schedule a class a NIGHT without giving a DAY alternative, or vice versa?!?! I can understand if this is a summer term schedule, but FALL???? What time have we left to do our design project??? The breaks in the afternoon? Late at night from 11-2 or 3am?? This whole situation is really crappy. Last year's schedule seemed much better. And really, how can students concentrate on empty stomach from 6-9 on a Monday night listening to a prof talk and talk?

As you can tell, I'm not happy. All these changes are really screwing up what I want to do. They're leaving me really upset, and being upset is NOT good for my well being and I need good vibes to survive school. *grits teeth* :T

public announcement - 06:23 p.m.

Sorry to those who emailed me for the past few days. I've been battling my computer problem, which I have yet to find the source to. I'm right now taking a break to do some school related stuffs that need attended to. So, urr.. give me some time and I'll reply shortly/soon. This heat wave is definitely not helping. Online time had been sparse and suffice to say I didn't do any of the "stalking" mentioned below. :/

Current status: Giving my organization skills a serious work out. Will be back once I sort/plan everything out.

august - 10:15 a.m.

*Sigh...* It's August again. Which means, back to school. As I said a few posts back, my one look at my tuition invoice is enough to tell me I don't have enough $$ to pay for it. I finally sat down and calculate how much exactly just now, since it is _August_ now, and the number isn't pretty. Some people may say, why don't you just get osap then? The thing is, my debt there is already a pretty big number, so I don't want to make it bigger then it is now. Therefore, that leaves me having to scrap $ from everywhere possible. I personally don't have any to buy textbook anymore, literally, after I pay the tuition. That's another problem when school starts, I wonder if anyone could lend me their books... ;_; And then there's the bus fare of 100$/month.. no money for that either. So I guess my point is, I'll be staying home (even more so than now) as much as possible from now on. I can't afford to do any activities that need $. That probably translate to more "stalking" of friends' page, and more reading of books from the library. Oh, yes, I should also be thinking of school's work too. *Sigh...* If only I didn't... If only....

Someone says kuu?
kuu is obviously a creature born sometime ago. Exact date of creation will forever remain unknown for the unknowing. kuu itself deems this unnecessary information for the prying public. It does have a gender, but that is not necessary to know as well.

What this writer can tell you is, it has an alter ego who works for CocaCola over here. Its nature is rather mean, but does pretend to be nice most of the time. It is made of water, is blue, and has orange spots, just like its alter ego. Oh, it's also short and fat with a big head.

Is it smart? No, but it'd like to be. As told in the space before this, it likes colours and pretty things, but dislikes school and mess. Current express priorities are to clean its room and do well in school, just like all responsible beings around here.

kuu is not reachable for comments by any normal means, unless you have previous knowledge of its other selves/alter egos.

The "hot?" guy above and beside is Wanibuchi Takami from Matsumoto Tomo sensei's current manga Bijo ga Yajuu (in English, Beauty is the Beast). Not a very well known manga, but the mangaka is better known among English manga fandom for her previous manga, a 8 volume series called Kiss. There is an excellent fansite over here dedicated to her works.

The guy above has a nickname, Wanichin, which roughly means alligator-chin. Though this picture probably doesn't do it justice, I do think this guy is pretty hot, by manga standard. :D It's the way he is drawn! *o* He's cool and a bit of an outcast in the dorm he stays in (because almost everyone in the dorm are jealous that he's so much cooler than them). They either (try to :P) taunt him or avoid him altogether. But he's actually a good person who just doesn't care to correct how others see him. :P Anyway, he's hot! *.*

Bijo ga Yajuu is currently running at LaLa monthly magazine from Hakusensha. (But it looks to be ending soon; there is a climax on the LaLa Feb 2005 issue. Although, the "last chapter" words doesn't appear on the preview blurb.) So far, it is published up to vol.4 in Japanese, and vol.3 in Chinese.
