a long meme - 12:02 a.m.

The person I took this from had some interesting comments about the missing questions, I'll leave it in coz I'm too lazy and not creative enough to think of my own. :P

1. First Name?
:P

2. Were you named after anyone?
Umm, yes.

3. Do you wish on stars?
Nope. What does it do?

4. When did you last cry?
Um, I don't know. Last night I think, while reading something sad.

5. Do you like your handwriting?
Not really, coz to this day, I still do not have a fixed style. But I can read it, so I hope it's legible for others too.

6. What is your favorite lunch meat?
Spam! XD Seriously, I like canned luncheon meat. Runner up goes to ham.

7. What is your birth date?
A day that a lot of people won't forget about. Thoes who know what it is should agree with me, I hope? ^^;

8. What is your most embarrassing CD?
Umm, I don't own any CDs personally, coz everything I listen to is either borrowed from the library, from my parent's collection, or some instrumental musics I dL-ed. And I'm not embarrassed to say I like the musics I like, so I guess I have no embarrassing CD! :)

9. If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you?
Probably not. I've been told I'm weird, anti-social, and not a good friend. So... yeah. :/

10. Are you a daredevil?
No.

ACE wonders, "Where the hell is question 11?"

12. Do looks matter?
I'd like to say no, coz it makes me seem less shallow. But it probably does. Although, as long as the person is nice, I'm okay with them just the way they are.

13. How do you release anger?
I don't get angry. o.O;; I get annoyed easily, but I'm rarely angry at anything or anyone. To be honest, I don't even know how anger feels like if I have it. So I don't know how I release anger. Does it mean I'm subconsciously a ticking time bomb who's going to explore in any minute? (PS: I just saw an episode of The Simpsons where Ned Flanders had to be checked into a mental hospital after his house got torn down by a hurricane.... I guess he went nuts.. especially since his house is the only house that got destroyed.... >.>)

14. Where is your second home?
Don't have one. And I would never say 'school'.

15. Do you trust others easily?
No. Althou, I know I'm very gullible in some aspects... >.>

16. What was your favorite toy as a child?
Ar... I don't have one? :) I didn't think I had toys when I was a child. Umm.. there might actually be one or two, but I don't think I liked any enough to call it my favourite.

17. Which class in high school do you think was totally stupid?
None? :) More like, can't think of any, since I don't dislike any particular class. I think they all played a role in shaping the me that is now.

18. Do you have a journal?
Can you call this a journal? If so, then yes. And I also have an lj that I never use.

19. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I don't think so..... >.>

ACE knows that Questions 21, and 22 are gangbanging Question 11.

22. What are your nicknames?
I don't know of any myself. But if my friends have one for me, feel free to let me know! :D

23. Would you bungee jump?
Don't think so. O_O

24. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Depends. Only do that when I have to.

25. Do you think that you are strong?
Nope.

26. What is your favorite ice cream flavor, coffee or vanilla?
Ur... I think this question should be worded as which do you prefer more over the other. :x Anyway, it's neither for me. I do not like vanilla, and I don't drink coffee. :x

Question 27 is a voyer, and is watching 21, 22 and 11.

28. Shoe Size?
I've worn sizes from 4-6, so...urm.. it depends on the shoes.

29. Red or pink?
red

30. What is your least favorite thing about yourself?
being stupid, lazy, and indecisive.

31. Who do you miss most?
I don't know?

32. Do you want everyone you send this to, to send it back?
Hmm... probably not, this is just gonna be posted on my blog, no one's gonna read it anyway.

33. What color pants and shoes are you wearing?
Green and bare feet.

34. What are you listening to right now?
nothing, except for the noise of my lappie

35. Last thing you ate?
Peanuts I think.

36. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
How do you answer these questions... o.o; I don't know crayon colours well enough to answer this. Midnight blue I guess, if there is such a colour.

37. What is the weather like right now?
Cold, very cold with windchill, and a lot of snow blowing non-stop for the whole day.

38. Last person you talked to on the phone?
some student loan centre person. yeah, no one calls me. :/

39. The first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Face.

40. Do you like the person who sent this to you?
No one sent this to me, I just grab it from an lj.

41. What is your ethnicity?
:P

42. Favorite Drink?
H2O

Question 54 is perving on the rest of the questions that are doing naughty things.

55. What Is Your Favorite Dessert?
Don't like sweet stuffs, so none.

56. Who Is Most Likely To Respond?
Nobody I guess.

57. Who Is Least Likely To Respond?
Everyone else. :)

Question 58 is humping Question 54

59. What Books Are You Reading for class.
Textbooks. _-_

60. What's On Your Mouse Pad?
A mouse? XD

Question 61 is video taping the other naughty questions.

Clean smells, Honeysuckle

64. Favorite Sounds?
Anything that's soothing and not so loud I guess.

65. Rolling Stones or Beatles?
Beatles

66. What's the furthest you've been from home?
Haha, not far. XD (in a travelling/vacationing sense) But for real, I'll have to say from that home to this home.

school - 04:43 p.m.

blah -_- either they don't know, or they don't care, or they just expect there'll be someone who'll handle everything. :S So I've just been sitting here in the lab, waiting to see if anyone read my email and come meet to discuss what we're going to do. but i guess no one will. I kinda regret agreeing to join this group, since, now, I have no idea what is going to happen. I mean, personally, I have some idea on how to start it, but I don't want to be the one who takes the initiative. not that there's anything wrong with that, but personally i just don't want to be one, coz i don't know how to do the entire project, i need discussion to see what is needed and how it can be done. -_-

i don't think i'm pissed, but i'm not happy either. if i don't do this now, i'm going to be swamped with other courses's work and i'm afraid i won't be able to juggle well between the courses. and i have to do better this time around, so i'm worried. :S *sigh*

anyway... guess i'll just do whatever i can and just wait and see... :X (I don't like this kind of idle waiting/worrying at all.)

skip beat 62 - 12:58 a.m.

*_* Shou is JEALOUS!!!! XDDD Hahaha. Such a cute little brat who SO obviously cares(and minds) the things Kyoko do. And the images he conjures up.... XDDD Haha. I was laughing out loud because the images were so lovey-dovey that it's unreal. And the great thing is, he doesn't know that he's jealous! XD He says he doesn't care whatever Kyoko does with whoever, but then he goes around brooding in his room, thinking about it and explodes in fury(jealousy). XD Hehe. I can't wait to see what happen next. :PPP

On a more sombre note, 1st school quiz was a total bomb. I'll be lucky if I get 50% on it. *cries* When I re-do it in my head (and then on paper) just now, I was able to do it within the time limit available to us at quiz time, assuming that my answer just now is correct. I think, I need to work on my nervousness in quiz/test/exam situations. Coz when I look at the question today, I just kind of panic-ed. Even though I know I know it, I was scared of the time, since by then, I was already running out of time to do the question. And as the pressure built up, I just went blank and shaked and didn't know what I should write (ie: structure my answers in a way that leads me to my final answer.) T_T So there goes my first quiz. 10 mins. 5% of the final grade gone. T_T Gotta be better prepared for the next one, and conquer my test anxieties.

+o+ - 01:03 a.m.

Monthly LaLa Index confirmed it. So I was right. b ended in 2005 Feb issue of LaLa. Another series that ended was PP, which was a long running series that I have yet to read due mostly to the angst factor. I guess I'll read that some day, now that it's ended. And now, back to your regular scheduled programming while I quietly(?) awaits the finale of Karekano.

Ryuichi Sakamoto - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - 11:55 p.m.

*sigh* quiz tomorrow. >_< First quiz in months. I guess I'm worry, not nervous (yet), but I suppose my experience made me wary. Everyone around me seems so much smarter than I am. They all seem to be much more hard working than me as well. Makes me wonder sometimes, how am I going to do better this time around...

I suppose not knowing or recognizing 99% of the class has its pros and cons. For one, I can project this thinking that everyone is working hard, thus making me, reminding me to work hard as well. But at the same time, it's kinda, i don't know, I don't know anyone to work with me as peers, to help each other out in assignments and stuff. :/

To clear up one thing, school has made me very negative about everything. So, whatever you want to call/see it, I'm definitely not being humble when I say I don't know anything. I seriously think I don't know much compared to everyone else. In my mind, I often consider myself a failure, which I sort of am one. It makes me want to work harder, and want to climb higher, just so I can avoid falling down and go through that road again.

Hence, leads me to my next point, I don't like lending people my stuffs. Part of the reason I guess, is b/c I'm selfish, and don't like parting with it. But, I think, the more major reason is b/c I want other people to do their own work. Coz, if those who ask would just do it themselves, wouldn't they feel much better and more accomplished when they check that their work is correct and is due to their own hard work instead of an answer sheet? Don't students learn better if they figure it out on their own? I believe so, since I like the feeling I get when I know I got something correct by figuring things out. Even though I'm not good at it, and would much appreciate a prof or a TA to clarify things, I still think doing things by oneself is good for one's learning process.

In a way, when people ask for something, I may or may not be holding back information, but, it usually is something one can easily find in a text or notes, so even if I don't tell or say, one can find the info eventually. The bad thing is, every time someone asks me for stuff and I get reluctant, the guilt trip begins. -_- And since I don't like getting blamed, people usually do find a way so I follow their whims.

Anyway, I don't even know what I want to say anymore, except that I know I don't like being asked for anything, coz I'm dumb and don't know anything. And, knowing me, I'm most likely a hypocrite who constantly bothers people for info as well. でも No one is perfect. :/

I'll end here then. Have to read text for quiz tomorrow...

sleepiness - 01:54 a.m.

a few things:

- the(my) TA for complexity sucks. >_< my TA last year was so much better! He actually taught us stuffs and we learned!! But this year, the guy just mumbles and I cannot follow anything he's writing on the board. ;_; And he tells us that he's a hard marker in tests... *crys* :S

- and the profs! >_< I don't really know what to say. So far, I can't say that they're better than last year. Coz just today, I felt like I would understand a bit more if I were to look at and study from my notes last year. The lectures just always happen to confuse me at one point or another.

- weather: after 2 days of warmness, the freezing rain is back again tonight. x_x There was just 1 about 3 days ago and I practically could not walk on any unsalted pavement. I already missed one day last week due to freezing rain... so I most definitely would not want to miss another one this week. ;_; Poor mommy tomorrow, who has to drive me to bus station in the morning :X I hope, I hope the road condition would not be too bad tomorrow, and that I get up early enough to ensure a safe drive to station.

- and i'm just now organizing my notes for the second time since school starts... o.o why am I always so un-organized? :x

And with that, gotta run, finish what I'm doing and go to bed. otherwise, I'll be falling asleep in class again.... more thoughts on being back to school may come.

gmail and mail - 11:26 p.m.

Now that I have used gmail for quite sometime, I've gotten accustomed to the forum thread style it has for mail replies.

I have a tendency to quote only snippets of the mail when I reply, or sometimes simply not quote at all. With the convenience of gmail's forum like system, I have started to take the "not quote anything" route to almost all my gmail mails. B/c, I only need to scroll up to see past mails in the convo. There is no need or effort to find previous mails really.

I never really gave this behaviour much thoughts until today, when I realized that other people's mail system don't work like that. And if I don't quote anything, 1) they may have trouble understanding what I'm referring to, and 2) it may become a hassle for them to locate previous mails in the convo.

What's my point in this? I don't think I have one. I just wanted to point it out, so I know to be considerate of other people and at least try to remember to quote when I reply.

And since I'm on the topic of mail, I just want to say that I don't like the new way of search for yahoo mail. >_< The version before this was a little more user friendly IMO. It was simpler and all I need to do is fill in a search key and click search. But now, their advance search page has search boxes for different fields, and I find that a bit too distracting.

Since all I mostly search for are keywords in the messages themselves, I have to specifically go to the box that says will find the word in the message body. The bad thing is, this little field for search in message body is nearly buried between boxes for searches in other fields like sender, subjects, etc etc. It annoys me that I can't spot the box for the message body search immediately. And to make matters worse, the size of the field box for search in receiver is huge compare to all other searches; I often get mistaken and type my search into the big box, thus making me go back and re-type(re-paste) into the right search field box. This is extremely annoying to me, b/c I'd need to waste time to go back and search again.

I suppose some people may like this way of search, because it categorizes all the different parts of an email that a person may want to search for. But I much prefer the previous search where I only need to type into one box and it searches everywhere.

Perhaps if they make the search in receiver box the same size as others' boxes, I wouldn't complain so much. Or, they can move the search in message body one up on top. But as it stands, I really don't like using it. -__-

Anyway, there's my rant of the day. Gotta sleep. Night...

whee~ - 03:41 p.m.

Hello 2005! Here's the unveiling of my new layout. To be honest, I'm not 100% satisfied with it, but this is the best I can do for now, so I have to live with it.

The making of process is longer than usual for me. For the layouts before, I only needed a night to do them, but this one stretched over several nights, from concept to product. The longest part was the graphic, choosing it wasn't such an effort, but the editing was >_<. You probably can't tell thou, since I didn't do anything remarkable or special to the pic at all. It was the playing of choosing the right look that took up so long.

And then there was the coding part. I ran into a block when I decided to right align the blog this time. Luckily there are some nice useful forums on the net that help solves the problem by css. I was hoping that I could use css to code some of the page, but I must have not coded them properly; my css conflicted(?)/didn't work with my divs no matter how I tweaked it, so I gave up in the end.

All in all, thou I'm not fully satisfied, I quite like this layout still. :) An obvious reason would definitely be the guy I chose to be pictured here. An inadequate description of him is in my blurb about the layout. For more info about him, urm... or to be more precise, to understand what I think of this character or why I think the way I do, I guess one would have to read the manga.

Originally I have thought to use Yuuichi Kazuki from Sono Yubi Dakega Shitteiru (EN: Only The Ring Finger Knows), for the same reason that I think he's pretty good looking :P, but I ended up wanting to use a shoujo manga character over a BL manga chara instead. But that doesn't mean I like Yuuichi less! For those who's curious, my link above links to amazon's page for the Ring manga, and they now even provide a few preview pages for you. So go and see some of the manga pages! Remember that before I said I don't really prefer Odagiri Hotaru's art? I take that back! :3 I have since changed my opinion and added her to my growing list of mangakas I like. Her old stories that used to be published (but now discontinued) by Tosuisha were really sweet(the ones I've read anyway), and her newer ones from Tokuma Shoten's Chara where she usually collaborates with BL authors are nice too, with better prettier art. So, if you see something by this mangaka, go buy/read it? :)

And lastly (but not least!), about Matsumoto Tomo, ie: the mangaka who drew the guy in this layout, like I said in the blurb beside this, she also has a previous series called Kiss. If you go to the link I provided, you can read up on it and go find in the site's Music section a list of music and pieces that inspired/were "played"/mentioned in the series. Some of them are quite nice, especially when in piano score form. :P

Hmm, think I've said all I wanted to say in this new year first post. Here's where I wish everyone to have a prosperous 2005, and that the tsunami affected regions will quickly regain order and life.

Someone says kuu?
kuu is obviously a creature born sometime ago. Exact date of creation will forever remain unknown for the unknowing. kuu itself deems this unnecessary information for the prying public. It does have a gender, but that is not necessary to know as well.

What this writer can tell you is, it has an alter ego who works for CocaCola over here. Its nature is rather mean, but does pretend to be nice most of the time. It is made of water, is blue, and has orange spots, just like its alter ego. Oh, it's also short and fat with a big head.

Is it smart? No, but it'd like to be. As told in the space before this, it likes colours and pretty things, but dislikes school and mess. Current express priorities are to clean its room and do well in school, just like all responsible beings around here.

kuu is not reachable for comments by any normal means, unless you have previous knowledge of its other selves/alter egos.

Layout?
The "hot?" guy above and beside is Wanibuchi Takami from Matsumoto Tomo sensei's current manga Bijo ga Yajuu (in English, Beauty is the Beast). Not a very well known manga, but the mangaka is better known among English manga fandom for her previous manga, a 8 volume series called Kiss. There is an excellent fansite over here dedicated to her works.

The guy above has a nickname, Wanichin, which roughly means alligator-chin. Though this picture probably doesn't do it justice, I do think this guy is pretty hot, by manga standard. :D It's the way he is drawn! *o* He's cool and a bit of an outcast in the dorm he stays in (because almost everyone in the dorm are jealous that he's so much cooler than them). They either (try to :P) taunt him or avoid him altogether. But he's actually a good person who just doesn't care to correct how others see him. :P Anyway, he's hot! *.*

Bijo ga Yajuu is currently running at LaLa monthly magazine from Hakusensha. (But it looks to be ending soon; there is a climax on the LaLa Feb 2005 issue. Although, the "last chapter" words doesn't appear on the preview blurb.) So far, it is published up to vol.4 in Japanese, and vol.3 in Chinese.
