various things... // 03:05 p.m.
Seeing that it's near Halloween, ie: end of October, I might as well put in an appearance, just so to let people know I'm still standing and kicking. :)
I won't state reasons of my absences this time, coz it's always the same few reasons keeping me from blogging and talking and stuff. It gets umm.. sort of repetitious that way.
So, back to a somewhat continuing post of some previous entries, here's my point forms again. ;)
Suki Dakara Suki: I bought vol 1-2 of this at CNAnime this summer, and I'm glad it didn't disappoint me. :) Thou the art is certainly not as matured as Mick Nekoi's style nowadays, I'm the kind of person who can overlook "appearance" if a nice, enjoyable story is present. Granted, the story itself probably isn't very remarkable for the majority of readers, but personally I like its warm-fuzzy-ness and feel-good-cuteness. There's a bit of mystery happening towards the end of the 2nd book, so I hope I'll get my hands of the 3rd and final book soon to find out what's going on. :) Plot is rather simple shoujo, but I like it that way. It's not tragic like some of CLAMP's other famous works, thou elements of sadness is still there in the story. I prefer stories like that more, coz then I can hope there might be a satisfying happy ending. :)
Gouhou Drug: Basically what I wanted to say about it is that Tokyopop is finally bring this over! vol 1 just came out, just in time for an early Christmas present for those who like it. :) And no, I'm not hinting that I want this for christmas, since I don't need this version of the manga, I'm just saying that if anyone wants this very muchly, they could put it on their KURISUMASU wish list. :P
Only the Ring Finger Knows: A BL comic. The BL comic that I told Karin to umm.. buy & read if she can. It is NOT yaoi. I can't stress that enough. One of my net pet-peeves is the use of that 4 letter word to generalize all BL materials in the English speaking BL fandom. :x I've read 2 versions of the comic, the original JP one, and a bad image quality simplified chinese one. So, I suppose it's safe for me to comment on it. :P The synopsis one can read on the DMP site. This title has practically only a hand full number of kisses in it. And there is nothing graphic whatsoever. I'd say it's even safe to read on the subway. :P It's a pretty-ly drawn school love-comedy-ish story. My first exposure of this story is thru the bad quality chinese scans, so I wasn't able to see how nicely drawn it was. But then I saw the Jp version, I was going *o*, especially the colour cover.. *o* *drools* Based on the chinese scans, I once even thought that I dislike this artist's style, however, even thou it's still not fully my taste, I don't dislike it either. I already like the story from the first time I read it, and now would recommend any BL fans to go buy and read it. It's a sweet story that gives you warm-fuzzies after you're done reading. :) DMP's 2 other yaoi title are good too, but they're not safe for subway read, since they really do have the "um-hmm" scenes in them, but they're also nice in their own way. A general direction for those 2 manga are: bitter-sweet unrequited-ness -> sweet-happy-couple-hood. Ring Finger is sort of like that too, except that it's done in a very subtle and gradual way, with the pace picking up only towards the last chapter or so. Go read it if you can, keep an open mind and I hope it won't disappoint. :)
Okay, have I just been a big advertment machine for this entry? Eeps >.< Sorry to say that there may be more of this coming. But I can assure you that I didn't mean to, I just want to do some recommendations for the stuffs I like. And with that, I'll take a break and be back later! Tata~

梁朝偉+楊千樺 - 星之碎片 // 01:01 a.m.
whee~
school's back! for most people anyway. for me thou, i'm on "break". this is the line that i'll stick with when people ask me how school is doing. they don't need to know "why" i went on break, just that i do now.
going to school, and sitting in lectures are a little awkward thou, since i sorta know the people there or at least i recognize them and they recognize me, so saying that i'm "on break" is a little weird.... so i guess, i'll probably try to stay out of their way as much as possible and go about life my own way until i can go back to school again... *sigh*
got this entry planned in point form, but am too lazy to make it into paragraphs :P mind you that they're not in any coherent order, so here goes...
-michaelangelo's david is 500 years old
so yep, read on newspaper that this statue is that old and to celebrate, they recently gave it a "bath" :D but i was just wondering, David is really... well built. :P hehe. no doubt this must have been brought on by the recent olympics, where i must say, the swimmers have the nicest body. XD but anyway, yes, Michaelangelo's David. I was just thinking, back in the times, how did those models get such a good body? :o I mean, he must have a model for the sculpture, and yes, i do realize that it's "ideal", some of it may not be real. But seriously, back then, what do people do to get a nice body? :o Oh, and one more thing, the idea of "ideal" haven't changed much since all those centuries ago (in the male's sense anyway). ^_~
-Newtype USA article on little space in jp apatto
Read(skim) September issue of Newtype USA in Chapters! and read that since moving to tokyo to work, this guy just have to give up(or refrain) his anime collectible obsession/interest. Reason being that the apartments there are SO small that it is simply not feasible to buy/store so much stuff. One simply does not have the space for them. So the writer suggests, to cure one of an obession like that, move them to japan, the land where all these things are available but one just can't get them because they'll take up too much of a person's living space. That got me thinking, no wonder those anime/manga merchandises are so expensive! they have to make up for people who can't buy them due to space problems! :D
-new lappie
Yep, I think by now most ppl know i finally got a lappie. Even thou I'm not going to school, I wanted to catch a good back-to-school deal, since I know I'll be needing it when I do get back. I got it under my budget, which is good, thou I didn't get to have the one I wanted initially. :T But nonetheless, I'm happy with this baby. What should I name it? Nah.. I'm really not the naming inanimate objects kind of person. But yea, I do hope this will behave and last me a long time! :)
-birthday card? get drunk eh?
About sometime ago, 'twas my 2X barthdai.. don't ask me how old i am, coz i still don't know, and it's cumbersome to minus the years. XD But anyway, thx for your card. I like that pucca website, am currently using a screensaver from there. :D Got a card from mommy too, where i got poured wine in a martini glass! :3 One of these days, I gotta build up some kind of tolerance! :)
There's a few more points but this entry seems long enough, so I'll leave it for now, will continue later... /me should go do some "school"homework.... :P Tata~

a few things... // 12:57 a.m.
Hanakimi Ending: As many already know, ending was on issue 18 of HtY, and it was... bleh. -__- It was pretty much what I expected, sloppy end with me going "What the H.?!! >_<" Almost nothing was resolved.. ;_; All those loose ends!! :X *sigh* Good that Nakajo-sensei is going to have a yomikiri in HtY before the year ends. So hopefully it'll be a nice real end to the series. :) I read in a ML I'm in that the recent short chaps leading to the end was due to illness, and that there'll be much fixing of the manga when it compiles into tankoubon 23, which will be the last volume. May I hope that the yomikiri will appear before November? which is when vol.23 is due out? so the side story will also be in the tankoubon?? :3 Oh I wish it would be so.. :D
Koucha Ouji: Yes, this series also ended several issues before Hanakimi ended. Don't think I mentioned it here at all, but if I did, I forgot about it already. But anyway, I don't know if the last vol. of this is out or not, but(Just found out from amazon jp that last vol. (v24) is out already ;_; OMG! That was wrong info, a vol 25 is coming out in October! This one can't be wrong coz I got it from Hakusensha site :33 *happy~*) there's been a few side stories (2 actually, i think..) that I hope it'll be in collected in the tankoubon.(I think they'll very likely be in vol 25! *_* woohoo! I hope I'm right!) :) Coz if they're not.. I'll never get to see them ;_; But yea, the ending of this one wasn't the best ending I've seen, however, it was better than.. Hanakimi's for sure. Can't wait to see the side stories!!
Side note about Skip Beat!: Hakusensha has new preview colour pic of the latest HtY, and Ren is on the colour spread!! *o* *happy sigh* Such a nice picture! *.* Yes, I'm a fangirl of this character. :D~
Hmm, what else.. Oh! yes.. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is coming to Global TV on Wednesday night. They aired a look-back on their very first QE episode and I didn't realize they'd replaced quite a number of people in there. Only like 2 of the original QE guys are still part of the group today. I do understand why those other guys disappear thou, coz they seemed kinda awkward and didn't appear to be comfortable on the screen. But oh well.. I still wanna watch it, coz it's fun to see how they turn a sloppy guy into what society perceives as a more sophisticated kind of guy, a metrosexual if you will who's still quite guy-ish. :)
lastly..

You're Izumi (Zoe) Orimoto from 'Digimon Frontier'!
Which Anime Female Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
Hehe, I'll have to say, that is quite me. :3~
Anyway, I'm sure there's more I want to write about (ah! yes! Suki Dakara Suki and Gouhou Drug), but me tired, so must go to bed. Til next time... Zzzz...

*in shock* // 04:57 a.m.
so why am i typing this when i should be sleeping? *sees the time* especially when i have a sore throat and is currently at the beginning stage of being sick??? :x
It's all because of Furuba! I was wondering why I got an email bomb of 300+ new msg from the ML over just 2-3 days after the previous weekend. i was busy and could not check my mailbox. And finally, just now i sneak in some time before bed to check out a few of the now 700+ new msgs there.. And :O Talk about a shocking turn of events. @o@
If you don't know what i'm talking about, don't worry, i'm not gonna spoil anything, I'm not even gonna say a word of the shocking event, except to say that it is one h. of a GOOD shock that you DO NOT want to get spoiled by some random stranger on the net, IMO.
Only thing I can say is *wow*, and I bet no one saw it coming.. ^^;; I really admire Takaya-sensei for that. Furuba's been having so many twists and turns lately that I'm beginning to suspect it's working its way towards a huge climax. I can't wait to see what's next, seriously. It lagged for a bit for a few volumes, but the pace is now picking up, quicker and quicker with each passing chapter. So many speculations, so many guesses and theories, and yet the mangaka still manages to pull this off. wow. :D
I've been out of the furuba loop for quite a bit, but i'm glad i come back at this time, this is definitely one very very intriguing story. lets hope it never gets boring from now on! :)
and no, i didn't forget about hanakimi, but i really need to go to bed right now, will probably just get a few hours of sleep from the look of it. so more on my thoughts of hanakimi later...
