Well, I started my new job today, which was pretty cool. Everyone there was really nice and it seems a lot like the job I had last summer, only eight times more complicated. That's okay, since I was quite frankly bored out of my skull last summer. And that was okay, 'cause I had Internet access.
Although it seems funny that after bitching about Cigna all last summer, now I have their insurance. ::le sigh::
And it seems official... I will be going for Otakon. Wai! I'm sure that'll be a very interesting weekend, heh.

I have a job! ::wild cheers:: And I would have blogged about that yesterday or even the day before, but I haven't been around much, and my computer has been flarping and not letting me see webpages. ::sigh:: Anyway, I start tomorrow (technically today.... yech), and it's a great secretarial job, 9h30 to 6 every day, 9 bucks an hour! I won't be able to blog from work like last summer, though. ^_~ At least, I sincerely doubt I will be.
Also did the last fic site update for a week or two... it's got good stuff. ^_^ If there are any problems, please drop me a line or a comment, because the FTP was being pretty fuckity, and I want to make sure it's okay.

Well... the interview went pretty well, even though I was so nervous that I was talking too fast and couldn't do math in my head, so when they asked for a ballpark salary I gave them an utterly retarded figure.
But they seemed to like me a lot and they're hiring for multiple positions, so... they said they'd call this weekend to let me know. Watch me be glued to the phone this weekend. ::glues self to phone::

I learned today that wedding showers are really fun until you get home and think "Wow, I've known this person since seventh grade and now she's getting married to a really great guy, whereas I haven't had a date since eleventh grade and I'm now a college graduate." Then they're just fuck depressing, even though I got to wear a toilet paper dress and see everyone's faces when they realized I actually had the metaphorical balls to buy the bride-to-be edible underwear for a gift.
Then, especially, do not come home and watch "Hero", the episode of Angel in which Doyle bites it, because that's like the most depressing episode ever. I liked Doyle, damn it. Oh, he died a great death, but that doesn't make him any less dead. -_-;;
Anyway, on to other things, I finally saw The Matrix: Reloaded the other day. I liked it, but on the whole, I didn't think it was as good as the first one. I mean, on the whole, I think every scene was too long. All the philosophical scenes were interesting for the first few minutes, but after that, got boring. The fight scenes were cool, but got repetetive. And the fight with Agent Smith just got ridiculous. Neo fighting eight Agent Smiths is a cool scene. Neo fighting fifty Agent Smiths is silly.
And I don't even know what to say about the sex scene, other than I did not really want to see most of Keanu Reeves' butt.
Although this led to a very interesting conversation between Karasu and I about Matrix slash and about whether or not Neo/Smith could possibly be well done, even by the best writer in the universe. This also led to Karasu saying: "It appears we are going to have sex... Mr. Andersen. May I call you... Tom?" And we both laughed ourselves silly.
Then we went home and watched the extended version of LotR, and started having giggle spasms every time Elrond came on screen. Never watch those movies after watching Matrix movies.
Anyway, I think I've probably rambled on long enough. I'm now going to go take out my frustration about my love life by ruining... oh, let's see... probably Ethan's. ::cough:: That is to say, I shall go write. ^^;;

Finally got around to seeing Signs... which is very good, and I liked... but I had one real big problem with it, which is a HUGE SPOILER so don't read the rest of this paragraph if you want to see the movie and haven't. .....I mean, it wasn't raining anywhere in the entire world that day?
....anyway.
Also watched HP and the CoS again, on the DVD, which was fun. Even if my brother harped at certain points of the plot. Made me want to go back and work on that HP fic that Karasu and I were doing. Hm... like we aren't in the middle of enough projects, right?

Heh, I put that in because I'm going to give away just about everything. Actually, I liked the ending quite a bit, but it surprised the hell out of me. All the deaths that I thought were going to occur didn't, and all the ones I didn't expect did.
For example, I totally expected Buffy to die. Hell, everyone I know expected Buffy to die, yet she did not. Okay, cool. I like Buffy. And I totally did *not* expect Spike to die. But I'm okay with that, because he had a good death scene, saved the world, and now doesn't have to live without Buffy. Aw.
Didn't really care that Anya died, although I would have expected her to get a better death scene than that. Glad that Xander and Willow both lived. Surprised that Faith did, but glad about that, because it was pretty cool. I liked the whole "making everyone Slayers" thing. That was original.
My brother was sort of bitching that they didn't bring Tara back in at all, but I'm glad that Joss Whedon decided not to, because come on, that would have been *so* predictable. Really.
Hm... not much else. I did like it. I'm interested to see what implications this will have for next season on Angel. Oh, and I'm glad Andrew lived! ::sticks tongue out at all the rabid Andrew haters::
And Joss is a prat for making us think that Wood was dead. I'm oddly fond of the Faith/Wood pairing. It's bizarre, but it works. Hey, anything that results in Faith getting to use the phrase, "I've got MAD skillz!" is good in my book. That cracked me up.
There were a lot of funny moments, given the content of the episode...
Oh, and Buffy walking around with a run-through gut wound? Not likely. I know she's the Slayer, but that has to have punctured *something*.
Anyway, yeah. Sunnydale, how I shall miss thee.
Put in 6 job applications/resumes for stuff like I had over last summer. Let's see if any of them turn up anything good. ::crosses fingers::

So, here I am with a spiffy Oriya layout! Actually, Oriya is spiffy. The layout rather sucks, but there's only so much one can do with a manga image and not much time to work with. I shall miss Caine terribly, but Oriya's the only guy I can think of off the top of my head that's just as sexy and I haven't already used in a layout a bajillion times.
So I'm moved in -- home, as in, my brother's apartment, as in, not Arizona. ^_^;; New Hampshire still. I've got all my furniture arranged and most of my stuff unpacked. Of course, I'm changing all my furniture this weekend, but hey, whoever heard of efficiency?
