Around 4 a.m., when I couldn't sleep, I discovered something interesting. Whatever problem we're having with AIM, it's at least in part a bandwidth problem. Because AIM worked fine then. Well, it was a little slower than usual, but nowhere near the 10-minute lag or the just plain 'can't get online at all' problem (that I'm having, say, right now). Or, my personal favorite, when your buddy list is not available, but has not been lost. Which seems to be AIM's way of saying "You can't be online, but we'll make you feel better by letting you think you're online."
In any case, I am hoping that once most people have moved out, which they should have by tomorrow evening, the Net will be better. We'll see.
Turned in my final honors project. Hoo-ha! One more fifteen minute presentation and I'm officially done. Only the problem of packing is left-- and it is indeed a problem, since most of my boxes seem to be MIA. That's going to make packing interesting. Especially since I came here with a fishtank full of clothes, and now, well, I have a fishtank full of fish.
Hm... it's about time to change layouts, but... Caine! ::glomps Caine:: I think this might be one of my longest-running layouts. You know, since I actually figured out how to make them and started changing them regularly. Ah well. ^_^

So, I've finally gotten around to reading Gohou Drug, which I've been meaning to do for... a while. See what I accomplish when I'm not on AIM? ::coughs:: Anyway, yeah. Pretty art. Confusing storyline. Flying fish. I like. ^_^
Kazahaya is definitely my favorite. He's just too spastically adorable for words. And so determined! And... somehow so mysterious, what with the shadowy lady who can't seem to finish a bloody sentence in the flashbacks to her.
Rikuou is fun. I love the fact that he's a total asshole and completely unremorseful about it. I also like his "talent". But it strikes me that he's what Kusanagi would look like, if Kusanagi was actually good-looking. Hm... lazy, much, CLAMP? ^_^
I like Kakei, because he's pretty. Actually, he looks sort of like Kakyou... And Saiga is just sort of there, so far, but I *love* their interaction. Mmmm.... molesty. ^^ And naturally, I'm already a huge Rikuou/Kazahaya fan, because there's nothing quite like a little UST to brighten up my day.
::starts chapter two:: .....wow, Kazahaya isn't too bright, is he. ::whistles innocently:: But, uhm, bully for life-saving condoms. ::nods wisely::

Saw X-Men 2 yesterday. Soooooo coooooool. Beware the evil spoiler beast.

So, yes, 'twas very cool. I loved Nightcrawler. Both his power and his personality and his weird blue skin and his tail and *squee!!* Nightcrawler, yay. ^_^ Sort of wish they had done more with Yuriko. She was cool in a creepy, creepy way.
I love Magneto. So cool. So *evil*. ^___^ Same with Mystique, only slightly less so. Actually she vaguely annoys me, though I don't know why. Maybe because she was coming onto Wolverine... which was weird.
Pyro: cool. Cool, cool, cool. It's too bad he went off to be evil with Magneto, but I'm sure at some point he'll wind up in some position where he'll have to hurt Bobby or Rogue and have a change of heart. Or something like that. Want to know more about him.
Stryker was annoying, but the way villains are supposed to be. Jason was *creepy*.
Storm was okay. Never had much of an opinion about her. Is that whole Nightcrawler/Storm thing from the comic? Because it struck me as sort of weird. Jean Grey was cool, if confusing, but I got all that stuff explained to me after the movie, so that's okay. And Cyclops and Wolverine hugging each other was so *sweet* and ::coughsoslashycough:: adorable.

Well, the fic site update this week is tiny and pathetic because I didn't really have much time to write this week. All I did was post up the mailing list link. Most people who said they were interested got an invitation, but some didn't because they didn't leave me an e-mail address... so if you didn't get an invite and you wanted to join, go on over to the site and register.
And if anyone's wondering, I used the evil of Yahoo!Groups so people could write to me as well as my just sending out an e-mail whenever we updated. I know Yahoo is evil. Alas, such things are sometimes necessary.
Other than that, nothing in the update. On the upside...

....I haven't blogged since Sunday? Wow. I mean, I know that I've been a busy little bee, but wow. Anyway, my honors project presentation was yesterday, and according to my professors, I did fine. In fact, one of my favorite profs told me he thought I should become a psych professor too. That's probably the highest compliment he's ever given me. Ah, I'm all glowy. ^_^
Karasu-chan loaned me her copy of Yami no Matsuei tankubon 4, so I have scans of that now. But I'm not going to put them on my blog, because I'm going to be making that Yami scan site. Sooo.... yeah. My opinion is as follows, keeping in mind that I've only looked through these, I haven't actually read any translations yet:
The first arc: there are talking animals. With glasses. The *hell*?? Also, Tsuzuki with no clothes is hot. Actually, all of them with no clothes are hot. Hotness abounds. ^_^
The second arc: Terazuma, yay! Also, archery, yay! Although it looks very much in some of these pictures like Terazuma and Tsuzuki are fighting over Hisoka. Heh.
The third arc: This one I already have read, because I got scanlations a while ago. St. Michael's arc is pretty. But I still say that in the end it doesn't make any sense at all. I've been working on figuring out why that second kid died ever since I read it six months ago. But, er, Tsuzuki is pretty.
I have been writing like a fiend (not really), and hope to have new chapters of... stuff... up soon. I know that's specific. Uhm... too bad? Hee. ^^
Oh, right! Kimura-chan! You're never on AIM anymore and I'm too lazy to e-mail. You want to go to Otakon this summer? It's August 8-10, registration is 40 dollars for the next few days, and we're going to split a cheapy hotel. It's outside Baltimore. I've been told that it's a really, really great con. Ka-chan, Yume-neechan, Ted, Catriona, and Mark are all going. You can bring Rat-kun if he's going to be in NH at that point. The more, the merrier! And the cheaper the hotels. I'm calling off today as a total loss. I was already having a really bad day for reasons that mostly include PMS (I hate being a woman), but I was sort of mollifying myself by reading Tsuzuki/Hisoka porn while I cleaned my room (if you haven't been to Bacon Wafer, I highly recommend it).
Then, while cleaning my room, I managed to injure myself. My drawer was open. I was on my hands and knees picking up stuff off my floor. I stood up. Now I have a two inch gash in my back. Which bled. And stung. And now hurts like a son of a bitch, and I had to have Ka-chan come over and bandage it for me because I couldn't really reach it, and one of my socks is now bloodstained because I was using that before she got here with her trusty gauze.
....my life really sucks sometimes.
On the upside, I did finish chapter 8 of Valley and I can probably post tomorrow. Of course, the fic has taken on a total life of its own and I no longer have the slightest clue what the hell's going on, but hey, can't have everything.
I'm going to go lie down. The endorphins have worn off.

Well, I've decided to go ahead and make that Yami scan site, mostly because I have lots of better stuff to do, heh. My Psych of Prejudice paper is done, though, and since a lot of people asked to see it (do you people want to be depressed? I mean, honestly), I'll try to get a version of it up tomorrow.
I think it's funny the way you can tell my character bias from what I chose to scan. The numbers, including the scans I did of the sketchbook when I got this, follow in order from most to least:
Hisoka: 24
Tsuzuki/Hisoka: 19
Tsuzuki: 16 (a poor third, considering he's the main character
Muraki/Tsuzuki: 9 (Maybe that's why there's so few of Muraki...he's always busy molesting somebody)
Muraki: 8 (Only 8? But he's so damn sexy!)
Tatsumi: 6 (...and I *like* Tatsumi)
Oriya: 6 (pretty impressive considering he's only in two volumes)
Watari: 4 (Will *have* to fix that)

Well, here I am, back! AnimeBoston was a lot of fun. I got to meet cool people and see cool costumes and BUY MANGA!! Which made me very happy. I got Yami 1-3 and 6, which means I now have them all except 4 and 11. Yayness! I also got a Kyou pin, a Hatori pin, and a Kenshin pin. ^^
According to my friends, I can imitate Kenshin's "oro" perfectly. Weird.
Also got to make other people watch Wolf's Rain, which was very fun, and talk fanfic with a lot of cool people. ^^ And show music videos. And see music videos! And yay! Cons are cool. I also got talked into going to Otakon... which would normally make me very broke, but as it turns out, Otakon is two days before my birthday... so when I see stuff, I can just have the people I'm with buy it for me, for my birthday. ^__^
Now I'm back and working on my Muraki/Oriya fic. Understand that by "working", I mean "watching the Kyoto Doll video over and over again for inspiration."

Leaving for AnimeBoston in about two and a half hours. My neechan is going to come pick us up. Hoo-ha!! I ought to be there around five thirty. So hopefully I shall see peoples there.

I actually woke up this morning before my alarm clock went off... weird. ^_^ So with the extra time, I'm going to go post WYWM 26 on Questionable Reality. Yesterday was shiny and good. My counseling class had a guest speaker on someone who runs help groups for men who batter. So now I have a bunch more actual information with which to write Lucian, which is good.
You know, it's really funny when I read my early stuff and all child abusers and spouse abusers were like the spawn of Satan... and now I'm writing Lucian, who's really a good guy except for that one bad habit. I'm not quite sure when my opinions changed.
Anyway, I've gots work to do and errands to run. ANIMEBOSTON TOMORROW!! I apologize to all those people that I said I'd give a time and day to... since they haven't put up the anime schedules yet, I really have no idea what time we'd be in the Con suite. Just look around for us-- I'll be wearing a Chinese black and red shirt on Friday and a black kimono on Saturday. I'll be at both the yaoi panels, that's for sure. ^_~

I had a great day. ^__^ Comes from the great weather and having turned in both my term papers yesterday. As my pal Mark would say, hoo-ha! Also, Valley 7 is up on the usual haunts. Right-o, then. ^_^
My 1h30 teacher only had 20 minutes of class because he wanted to be outside, and my 3 o'clock got out half an hour early. And I saw The Two Towers at the cheapy student theater. Yeah! ::bounces a little::
And I have two bizarre but funny conversations which I will put in here for amusement value.

Kouri: Yeah. They're all doing their thing. Except for Subaru. I don't remember where he is. I think he might be there, standing around with his thumb up his butt. He can be Thumb Butt Boy. A new superhero.

Kouri: Yeah. So now he can't have anything better than his thumb up there.
And, talking about Fuuma's motivations...
Karasu: But even if he didn't fight, if he went somewhere else, he might be killed.

Hm... I had never realized before that when the num lock isn't on, the little number keypad doesn't work. And I've had a computer for over 7 years now. Does that make me stupid or just inobservant?
And come to think of it, how the heck did the num lock get turned off? ::sweatdrop:: That's not what I came here to post. I came here to shuck and jive because my PAPERS ARE DONE!! Turned in one this morning and the other is due at 4h30, and it's all spiffy and all I have to do is print. The first one sucked, but I feel really good about this second one. ^_^
Also, it's majorly disturbing to be writing a paper on weird psychological disorders and to have the Azumanga Daioh opening pop up on Winamp. Ah, my computer. ::pats it::
AnimeBoston in five days! XD Karasu-chan and I are looking at the schedule to work out a time that we'll be at the ConSuite for anyone who wants to try to track us down. We'll get back to you all on that. ^__^
Lastly... I'm sending in Genesis X to Tor Books as soon as I get the synopsis done. And now that I've posted it on my blog, I can't go back on it.

Well, my paper is done. It's shitty, but it's done, and that's good enough for me. Nearly exactly ten pages. I even managed to toss in a thesis, heh. Way to go me. So in celebration, Before I Wake 5 is up on CLAMPesque. Aaaand... Subaru is a prat. I wuvs him. ^_^
I just realized that I've never had a Fuuma layout. Someday I'm going to have to fix that. But not now, 'cause I'm very happy with Caine. Caine has also gotten me lots of hits. 406 yesterday, to be precise. Heh, it's cause Kelly linked me. I really don't want to think about how many people go to her blog.
Speaking of, Yoshiki has an attitude. This makes me happy. Also, he's hot. I will now take my fangirl gushing elsewhere to work on Yamific.
And yes, come to think of it, my poor Subaru and Seishirou could theoretically use the food as lube... I didn't think of that when I first stumbled upon the problem. ^_~

So, in other news (or 'off the subject of Subaru and Seishirou doomed to an eternity of oral sex') I got a lot of work done today. Commence random babbling!
I have 7 pages of my 9-10 page paper written, which is good, considering that I hated writing every single word of it. Sheesh. At least my other two term papers were *interesting* and depressing. This one is just depressing.
Secondly, finished up chapters of BIW *and* Valley, and hopefully both of them will be up tomorrow. Well, I know the chapter of BIW will be. Because I like it. Subaru is a prick. Here's your random clip to satisfy you while you wait:
“Ah, but what’s the point?” he asked. “I find myself extremely curious about that, Subaru. You’ve as much admitted that you don’t want me dead. You want me to suffer. I suspect you must have some sort of grand plan, but I’m having trouble figuring out what it must be.”

Right around then, Seishirou got extremely nervous.
Anyway, I have a pretty Fuuma background now. Yay, hot!Fuuma. I wish he were three-D. And also, my sex slave.
I've discovered that I write the best when I just sit down to do it without really thinking about it. The last scene in chapter 7 of Valley was giving me a lot of trouble, but I spontaneously decided to write it about an hour ago and just ran off two pages in about fifteen minutes, finishing the chapter. So... my conclusion is that I should not think.
Lately I've had a really *really* bad yen to write a Tsuzuki/Hisoka fic that takes place just after they become partners. Not a seriously romantic one (Kyoto. All the romance was post-Kyoto. I'm convinced of this.) but some sort of sweet "becoming friends" fic. Not that I don't have enough to do or anything.
Right, also finished the prologue to my Muraki/Oriya fic, but until someone comes up with a title that doesn't suck, it's going to rot on my hard drive.

So here's the top sign that, despite the fact that it's only quarter past midnight, I should be in bed. I was skimming through old fanfiction for absolutely no other reason than I'd been talking about, and I was re-reading my Xmas Carol story (which I actually don't like that much but has some amusing bits).
And so, Subaru and Seishirou are trapped in the magical Tree-place for all eternity, where they can't die, the food is self-refilling, the clothes don't get dirty, et cetera... and it just suddenly occurred to me...
Seishirou: What do you *mean* the lube doesn't refill the way the food does?
Subaru: It's empty! ::waves container around::
Seishirou: .....but that means...
Subaru: ::sadly:: Nothing but oral sex for eternity.
.....okay, I *so* need to go to bed.

Also, did the week's fic site update. Let's see... nothing too dramatic there. Valley 6, WYWM 25, and two chapters of With Friends Like These, in which we indiscriminately torture pretty much all of the cast, Weiss and Schwarz included.
Thanks to Krystal, I also started working on Before I Wake again... the actual plot will start in the next chapter... which, if my pattern of writing fanfiction to avoid my term papers keeps up, might be finished this weekend. But maybe not. I have a 9-10 page paper on Milgram's experiments and the legacy thereof due on Monday. And I haven't started it. In fact, I haven't even read any of the articles I've gathered. Whoopsie.
