I got to watch DNAngel! Which makes me a very, very happy Kouri. Because I liked it a lot. I'd only ever read the first chapter or so of the manga, because I'm really lazy. ^___^
Daisuke is cute cute KYUTE. ^^ And Dark is really hot. So naturally I was sold on the series. The visual track and the audio kept getting off, which was annoying, but it was worth it. I like Satoshi, too, even if he is creepy. He's creepy in the manga, too, so that's okay. He's somehow creepy in a cute way. ^_^ The girls were... well, the girls. But I really liked Daisuke's family.

Well, Valley 5 is up in the usual haunts. I don't like the last scene, but that's mostly because my computer crashed and I lost half and I had to rewrite it. And you know that things never come out quite the same when you have to rewrite them, and even if they're just as good, they don't seem that way. So, blah, I don't like the last scene but I wasn't about to rewrite it again, so I posted it.
Secondly, I learned something really interesting in my psych class today. We were talking about the hypersexualized image of homosexuals. Apparently, a study has been done that proves that gay men *are* more sexually active-- but it's not because they're gay, it's because they're *men*. Sexual activity within a relationship is directly related to how many men there are.
So doesn't that make us all feel better? Men really *do* think about sex all the time.
Also, now I don't feel quite as bad about the fact that I can't get Bren and Ethan to stop having sex for more than a chapter, because apparently, it's accurate. Way to go, me!

There's something *infinitely* frustrating about spending gobs of time on a paper to get in done and turned in on time, then getting up early for the class, only to get there and find out that the class has been cancelled. It just gets more frustrating when the exams aren't due until -- not the next class period you have -- but the one after that! I spent hours working on this so it'd be done today, and now it's not due until Monday. I could have had a weekend. ::sulk::
And while I'm on the subject of pointless bitching about things no one else cares about, how hard is it to turn the faucet off? I mean, honestly. Every time I walk into our bathroom, one of the sinks or the showers is dripping. And I don't mean just dripping-- the showers are usually so bad that when I reach in to turn them off, I have to dry my entire arm with a towel afterwards. People, please! This isn't difficult.
In other news, chapter 5 of Valley is done, and once I convince myself that the last scene in it doesn't suck eggs, I'll post it.

So here's my rant. I wrote this, decided it was too mean, and let it sit. Then I thought of a whole bunch more things I wanted to say and it got far meaner, which just goes to show that I should never stew, because it only makes things worse. I toned it down a little before the final version, so in all reality it's probably equally mean as my first draft and the whole thing was an exercise in futility, just like everything else in this fandom.
A note to all you people who apparently hate me for some reason I have never figured out at all: Go ahead. I'm really past the point of caring anymore. The world is at war, my grandparents are dying, and I'm buried in schoolwork. The opinions of a bunch of people I've never met and most likely never spoken to really matters about as much to me as how much earwax I could get out with a Q-Tip. You want to get your jollies by reading my blog and fanfiction and laughing at me, be my guest. It's not like Karasu and I don't do the exact same thing in reverse. Actually, we spent a good portion of our trip home discussing how funny we think you all are.
I'm just confused on one point, see. When I opened this blog, I was linked to four people: Liz, Leareth, Murasaki, and Meia. Mura and I have since gone our separate ways, though I'm still linked to the other three. Everyone I linked to after that, they linked me first. (With the notable exception of Kelly and possibly Di and Lisa.) So I figure that you people must have liked me at some point, and I really have to wonder what I ever did to any of you.
But whatever. Go ahead and think whatever you want about me; you will anyway, no matter what I say. I survived high school, and this strikes me as the exact same kind of social structure. No matter what we do, there will always be the cliques. I never liked the popular crowd anyway. Oh, and by the way, Psyche? I'm glad you get such a kick out of me, because I haven't got the faintest clue who the hell you are. But believe me, I get a kick out of you too, especially the way you say really nasty things and then post "No offense", when the comments are obviously intended to offend. I suppose it's a good thing I didn't take offense then, ne?
Let's also clear up a few other things. To begin with, I know I'm immature. I rather like being immature; it's fun. Also, you can be as high and mighty as you want, but if you're going around laughing at me behind my back and posting rude comments on my blog, you are also immature. I don't have any problem with you being immature, just be aware that you're hypocritical.
Secondly, if I hear another word about my Seishirou being OOC... let's clear that up, too. I know that my Seishirou is usually wildly OOC. I write him OOC on purpose, because if I wrote him canon-in-character, I'd never have a story. I don't believe that a romance could ever work between Subaru and Seishirou in the actual manga, so if I want to set them up, I have to write Seishirou OOC. I know I do it, I damn well don't care, and I'm really sick of having people point it out to me like it's some revelation from God. Should I repeat my whole "if you don't like my fics, don't read them" mantra? Nah... nobody listens to that anyway.
And really, can someone *please* explain to me why all you people read my blog since none of you like me?
If you want to blame my presence in the X fandom on someone, sure as hell don't blame it on me. Karasu dragged me into this kicking and screaming. I didn't have that much interest in X when I first heard about it, but she bitched and begged until I agreed to post a site. You can blame my first fic on my sociology professor for being so bloody boring. You can blame the fact that it ever saw the light of day on my neechan, who talked me into posting it on YnH, and you can blame my blog and all the things it spawned on Murasaki, who of course now disdains me completely, because she convinced me to get one.
I'm not trying to beg off here; I wrote all my fanfiction myself and I'm responsible for the content, but that's just meant to show you how ridiculous it is to wish I had never joined the fandom.
Speaking of joining fandoms, I'm sure that all of you are ever so glad that I'll never join the PoT fandom and sully its glowing aura with my OOC presence, but believe me, I'm more glad than you are. If I had to share another fandom with you people, I think I'd lose my fucking mind.

Hurrah for new layout and long bloggage! Witness the amusement that is Brad and Schu. I hadn't planned to put this layout up now, but it strikes me as sort of amusing, given world events. I think Brad would be a much better world leader than... well, pretty much 90% of the people who are actually in power.
So, trip bloggage. I saw much new anime, which was good. Let's see... easier ones first. Finally got to see the Kenshin sub, which was fun (and the outtakes on the DVDs are hilarious). Saw a couple dubs, too. The Yami dub. Oh my sweet loving Jesus, was that terrible. ::sniggers:: Ka-chan and I made them turn it off after about five minutes. I just couldn't take it. It was ALL WRONG. Hisoka was way too deep. Tsuzuki wasn't bad, but he wasn't *Tsuzuki*. Watari made me laugh my ass off. Tatsumi... there are no words for Tatsumi. And every time the first Gushoshin opened its beak, I nearly rolled off the sofa.
Also saw the FruBa dub, or at least the first two episodes. Not as bad. I actually quite liked Shigure's dub voice. He had the right lack of dignity needed to VA. ^_^ Kyou's was... not bad. Not great, and not particularly well-acted, but the voice itself was okay. Tohru sounded too asinine, though. And Yuki was, again, too deep. Americans just don't get that you should cast women as teenaged men. ::shrug::
Saw lots of Azumanga Daioh, which made me a very happy Kouri. I wuvs AzuDai. The last episode didn't work, which was annoying, but the rest was so cute, especially Sakaki-san and her kitty. ^__^ Yes, it is safe to say that I love Sakaki-san. I wanted her and Kaorin to get together, darnit.
Indoctrinated the Minnesota crowd to CCD, which was fun, if a trifle scary. We also watched the first El-Hazard OVA, which is stupid but funny and amusing.
And then... we watched... Wolf's Rain. Which is quickly going to become a new obsession of mine, I can tell. Because. Toboe. Is so. Fucking. Adorable. I mean, really. I just wanted to grab him and snuggle him every time he came on screen. He also has the bracelet of ultra uke-ness. And it's pretty slashy. I liked all the main characters, which was good. The concept was weird, but oddly well done. Hige was fun, Kiba was cool, and Tsume was a *bastard*, so of course I liked him. And I nearly died when Toboe started licking Tsume's wounds, because of course they're really wolves but no one's thinking of them like that. And I mean, come on. He was licking Tsume's thigh. Slashy. ^_^
I do have a feeling that it's going to be very depressing at the end, which sort of sucks. And there *must* have been a better name for that detective than Hubb Lebowski. I mean... I mean... Hubb Lebowski.
Moving off the subject of anime... I then visited my relatives, locked myself out of my car, got bruises from my cousins (8 and 3 years old respectively), learned some folk dancing, was offered cookies and ice cream seven times by my *very* forgetful grandmother, avoided all the work I needed to do, and got very depressed over said grandparents.
I have so much homework to do this week that I honestly think I can't get it all done (and I'm sure writing a three page blog entry is reaaaaallllly helping, too). It's mostly because the Academic Excellence Conference is this weekend, and I need to present my honors project.... which is nowhere near completion. It doesn't have to be finished, but I need at least preliminary results or I'm going to be standing there like a dork with nothing to say. So, data entry here I come.
Let's see, what else happened? Came up with a spiffy new character named Elijah who is pretty much the net result of my psych of prejudice paper. That ought to be interesting. Plotted out Shadows. Plotted out Ties that Bind. Plotted out lots of other stuff. Saw the best Yami no Matsuei music video in the world and got suddenly inspired to work on my Yami fic! ......which would work a lot better if I had any idea what's going to happen in it. Figured out how to make my screensaver show pretty anime pictures. Actually got inspired to work on my FruBa fic again, too, which is bloody amazing since I haven't worked on it in like six months.
I could comment on the war, I really could, but that would be very long and very involved. I don't want to condemn it out of hand, but if I gave all my reasons for condemning it, I'd be typing 'til midnight. So... I suppose I am condemning it out of hand. War sucks. Yeah.
And just a side note, if you're ever travelling in New York, don't stay at the Motel 6 in Buffalo. The bathroom floors were sticky, we found half a peanut on the floor (so they obviously hadn't been vacuumed), the sink had scary stains, and the shower was just.... unmentionable.
.....I am writing this entry the night before I post it, because I have free time, while I wait for my sister to call me, so please forgive my incessant, horrible babbling. I will actually post the entry tomorrow, once I have gotten the new layout into some semblance of... well..... existence. Originally it was a lot longer, but when I woke up, I decided that much of the rant I had put in was too mean to actually post, so I will post the rant later, after I've had a chance to cool down some.
So that's my big long vacation entry. And now, away I am to class, for it is the next morning. ^_^
