Friday, June 14, 2002,08:19 a.m. Welcome back. It seems that great minds really do think alike, 'cause reading and taking notes have occupied me for the last three weeks also. Speaking of which, I've finally finished London! *pops the bubbly* All 1000+ pages! (12 pages of notes T_T)Hurrah! Unfortuantely, I've still to complete Miracle At Philadelphia, a pretty well-written discussion of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 (it's the note-taking that gets me every time...). So it seems I shall be doing a bit of extra work at GHP also. *sigh* Am going to put up the new layout. *goes away* Sign Log||View Log Wednesday, June 12, 2002,12:21 a.m. Fufufu...anniversary picture is ready! Very plain, and the color scheme will be "Halloween". Let your imagination roam, folks. Sign Log||View Log Sunday, June 9, 2002,9:55 a.m. My god, I didn't know I tanned so fast. e_e;;; Anyways... Started APT today, in the hopes that I might finish it and only have to carry Miracle to GHP with me. (Don't ask.) *yawn* Speaking of GHP, I'm to bring a huge box of food with me. In case the provisions there are less than edible. Will inform at the appropriate time of the matter. *yawns again* I'm off to read London... Sign Log||View Log Sunday, June 9, 2002,10:50 a.m. Bored. *eats pretzel pieces for no reason whatsoever* Boooooored. Sign Log||View Log Saturday, June 8, 2002,10:04 a.m. Thank you very much for yesterday! Had fun getting away from the house for a few hours. ~_~ I'm so bored that there's nothing to blog about. I should finish London before I leave in seven days, but the others will have to be brought along on the trip...*tear* Oh well... Sign Log||View Log Friday, June 7, 2002,10:13 a.m. Don't feel like working. Meh. Seven days! Seven days until I leave, whooo! Have been meaning to do this for a while: a commentary on Music Up (the company's English title for a Chinese-produced anime series), of which I have just finished watching episodes 1-26. Plot: 5/10 Characters: 6/10 Music: 2/10(not to my tastes, obviously) Art/Character Design: 6/10(a lenient rating, because this is one of the first serious mainland anime) Basically, the plot involves a bunch of high school kids organizing a school band, overcoming obstacles of teacher resistance (Chinese schools are quite uptight), familial stress, crushes, unrequited crushes, etc.etc. Features bad English galore, a Korean transfer student, and pretty nasty costume design. Not to mention filler scenes( shots of traffic lights, passerby, having nothing whatever to do with the plot). But for a first attempt, not that terrible. I watched it, didn't I? Sign Log||View Log Thursday, June 6, 2002,07:55 a.m. *yawn* Eight days until I leave, whoo yeah! *jumps around* Sign Log||View Log Monday, June 3, 2002,10:46 p.m. I promised a couple of you a brat-rant here...but I really don't feel like it anymore. It was buggy out there, yeah, and moist as...as undercooked meat (spur-of-the-moment similes -_-()). And in my rush to go do at least some of the lawn before it was all mowed, I didn't put on bug spray. *sigh* No rashes, bumps, or similar yet. Enternal gratefulness for the books. Dunno if you ever visit this place, but whatever. Maa. Retro layouts? I kind of liked my last one...and the spring break one with Fuuma and K-chan *hearts* was cute too. But of course we all love Penicillin and don't want to see innovation until August, right? Of course. Sign Log||View Log Sunday, June 2, 2002,05:29 p.m. Very fruitful day in terms of purchases. A summary: Went to the local suburban-stuck-up mall, did not find London, got The Complete Works of Poe instead, and discovered to no great surprise whatever that the shorts were all either too short or too expensive. Then it was across the street to the department store, where obtained pair of gray shorts and dark green trendy cutoff things; next door, bought five-dollar flag t-shirt at oddly named middlebrow shop (hint: the one that implies our country's naval forces are antiquated). Finally went by the pool (wasn't open), to cheap bookstore where finally found London, and home at last. What? I'm a material-obsessed, shallow, and terribly hypocritical product of postmodern American society? What would make you say that? Sign Log||View Log Saturday, June 1, 2002,11:02 p.m. ![]() My, this is unexpected indeed... Saaa...went to library today ~_~=. Also went to the pool. Very hot. Very hot. x_x;;;How will I survive GHP(aka unimaginable heat)? Aggh... It's a nice song, with lotsa screaming. The beginning is especially cool...*goes all melty* Ooh, Izzy, that would be very kind of you. *salutes the entire crew* Congratulations on becoming the undisputed upperclassmen! ~_~= Sign Log||View Log Friday, May 31, 2002,04:23 p.m. Random browsing... Heh heheheheh... It's Legolas-fangirl happyland! So how 'bout getting a blog/site/place to put up the oh-so-droolworthy buttons? Eh eh? ~____~= In other news, added Kim to linkies. Yah. One-third of the way through London. What a brick of a book. *sigh* Have something of a headache, prolly 'cause went to take a walk at 1 PM, the hottest time of day (smart). @_@ Sign Log||View Log Thursday, May 30, 2002,10:45 p.m. Sparring great fun. ~_~= Something I thought I would share: on the way home, as I lay half-dead and covered with sweat and assorted new purple badges of courage (how witty)--actually, the only nasty one occured when I did something (kicked?) to the three smallest toes on my right foot. They're sore and a mite stiff, nothing too unbearable though. Anyways. It was almost eight in the evening, and as we drove I saw a beautiful cloud against the setting sun. It was enormous, taking up a good fraction of the sky, and sunlight caught its upper edges and hollowed out subtle blues and whites in its massive form. I stared at it for a while, yes...@_@ Very pretty. Perhaps you saw it too? Or you? *squeak* Someone else knows who Aziraphale is! ~____~ Sign Log||View Log Thursday, May 30, 2002,11:39 a.m. Bored. This is the fifth day at home and I am absolutely wilting. Incredible. I wish I lived in less of a suburban setting. Then I might actually have somewhere else to go. Uuuuuugh. So far: Number of fics finished: 0 Number of vacation assignments completed: 2/8 Number of times counted the days until GHP: ...a lot. Number of times went for aimless walk around neighborhood: ...a lot. >_< At least I get to go to karate today. Whoop de doo. And if Princeton ever sends that four-year scholarship, I'll be sure to let you know. XD I just ate an old lollipop. Those really cheap dinky ones that come in cellophane wrappers. It was sugary (of course). Maa. Bad Eva! Bad! (Almost typed real name there....no such luck, you fools. ~________~) No sleep tonight! I doubt that even remotely viewable layout could be made at GHP...so there's my excuse for future laziness, heh. Thank you for the reply to my incredibly selfish and annoying brat-rant. I don't know why you all put up with me. ~_~ Sign Log||View Log |
