Alexander? Re: Alexander:
I *heart* Mary Renault! In fact, I'm sure she's so good that everyone and anyone who reads one of her books on Alexander will fall in love with the man and with her writing. IMHO, the best book by Renault on Alexander has to be The Persian Boy--it's so romantic! So heartbreaking! *sniffle* But you ought to read it~ you really should! (Added bonus: narrated by Alexander's...er, uke, basically. <_<;; *cough*)

yargh Ahoy there. Have returned home at long last. The cruise ship offered internet access all right--at $7.5 for each 15-minute session. >_<
Manga update: Have gotten Saiyuki, 1-9; HE 3-23 (the clever pirating peeps put the whole series under a wrong name so that they could call it "authentic"...); Sono te 1-8; Inu Yasha 1-25; and Koohri no mamono(see earlier entries). ~_____~= My father is the best.
Parents have been trying to cram food down me gullet, insisting that "you could gain 20 lbs. and still be underweight". Heavens me. *rolls eyes* School in 1 week. Arrrgh. Thanks again to you for the orientation shtuffs. And looking forward to seeing you again! *hugs*

*sob* *tears**sniffle* Well well well...this is the last GHP entry (*everyone else cheers*). Only one-and-a-half days left, and then a convocation on Saturday, and then...(dare I say it?)we leave. FOREVER. T_T Actually, I don't go home. I go on several-hour car trip to hot tourist spot to spend the night, then another several-hour car trip to the departure point of the cruuuuise. And then, in 2 weeks, I'll be back in the institution know as He--I mean, school. Joy.
*Waves bye-bye* See you all from the CRUUUUUISE~

And this is so cool! And it actually looks cool on a Windows machine! >_<* Re: bloggage--I forgot to notify everyone, but the 2nd of July marked this blog's ONE-YEAR BIRTHDAY! (You'll have to wait for the banner, 'cause I'm too damn lazy to put it up right now...) So yeah. *whoops lamely*

Austen and Lang= good readin' Yeah, so I've been out of touch re: internet the last few days, sorry all. (Since I know you love me so.) Finished Beloved, finished Naked (*heart* David Sedaris is great...), and finally read A Study in Scarlet. All very nice and well. Started on new round of courses today: "What is Love" and "Brainwashing Babies", regarding love in literature and movies and messages in children's literature, respectively. Feeling much better now that am getting up at a lazy-ass 6:30 *gasp* since have completed 10 Marine Corps sessions (don't ask...). Feeling a bout of love for GHP once more. *heart*
And of course, I LOVE KOORHI NO MAMONO~! *shriek* Ishuca! Ishuca! Ishuca forever! (w/out glasses, o'course...)

literati What I've read since I arrived (finished reading):
-A Streetcar Named Desire
-Me Talk Pretty One Day
...there was something else I read for fun, but I can't remember...and then of course the stuff for class. Just a random note, yeah...

*slump* I feel rather sad. Other people are homesick at the beginning of away-from-home stays, but I always defect psychologically in the middle. I just don't want to eat salad all the time anymore (avoidance of the grease and fried crap the cafeteria offers), I don't want to eat cereal all the time (also in avoidance of the rumored ten lbs. gained by the average GHP student from sodas, desserts and junk from home, takeout, and the grease of the cafeteria)...I want my FRUIT, I want my TOFU, I want my BLOODY CHOPSTICKS! I WANT MY MANGA!! I DON'T WANT TO WEAR SHOES IN THE SHOWER---AAAARGH!!! >_<
Really, I'm fine.

who, me? What happened? No one's visiting this place anymore! Come on, people, at least break 5 visitors a day...
We'd a so-called "field day" today--in reality, more of a "let's play strange games and get hot" thing. *sigh* At least they had free watermelon. Manga package heading down here on the morrow *squee*...*dances*

where people fly Quick Notes (tm) of the day:
-@ PT we only did a mild (relatively) game of Ultimate Frisbee.
-Analyzed own dream and listened to those of a couple others in "Unconscious" class. Most interesting conclusions.
-TIP: NEVER SPRAY-PAINT YOUR HAND, EVEN IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE DOING AN ABSTRACT PAINTING AND WANT TO HAVE THE NEGATIVE-SPACE IMAGE OF YOUR HAND ON THE CANVAS!! (Especially if the paint happens to be black...) >_<
-Rained rivers after the Foreign Language Cabaret--good thing that I had my handy-dandy umbrella on hand! *cheesy theme song plays*
So I think I shall go back to the dorm to read and take my grape-flavored children's cold medicine now. *waves*

*coughsneezecough* Urrrgh. Have lovely little summer cold. *sneezes for the umpteenth time* Went to a PRISM concert today (basically consisting of various ensembles performing one after the other--all very good, etc. *sigh* I haven't practiced piano in about two weeks 'cause non-piano majors/minors cannot get into the practice rooms. >_< Oh well, at least I've an excuse.
Ooh, how cuuuuute~!!! I have dibs on him!
Speaking of squeal-inducing stuff, from broken phone conversations with mother, have inferred that some of the loot that reached home includes:
-Saiyuki
-HE (all of it...@_@)
-Sono Te (all of that too, I think)
-Koohri no mamono no monogatari (sp?) 18 volumes...*drools*
*drowns in her own fangirlish pool of drool*

I return! No, no, I'm not dead (yet). <--Read one morbid story too many...
The weather here is insane; the day starts out sunny and clear, and then after majors (around noon) the clouds first appear; after lunch break it pours, and the drizzling goes on for the remainder of the day. *sigh* At least it rains, unlike at home.
Sorry for my total neglect of this place and of my email account--apologies for future neglect, too, because I will only get busier. Besides, I feel a sore throat coming on. *swallows gingerly*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

*ladeela* Since I know everyone out there cares so very much...
My plans for today are:
Go to step aerobics @ 5
Go to eat dinner sometime around 6 (when aerobics end)
Go to a debate re: creation vs. evolution @ 7
Contemporary Fiction is going very well--yesterday I got to choose a "treasure" from the "Treasure Box"(really elementary-school like I know). I picked a little wooden carved pirate whom I named Arnold Friend after a crucial character in the story we had been discussing(Where are You Going, Where Have You Been, by Joyce Carol Oates).
More: Need to write poem/proselet for Coffee House on Friday. >_< ARGH. And Re: Back to School Fun-ness--I'm glad I shan't have to worry about formal school for another month and 3/4. But then again...I'm in GHP. So nyah.

... GHP is fun, people. We'd a free day today, and tomorrow it's back to classes and the wonder pre-six A.M. scenery. Friend Howard lent me a Taiwanese translation of a Japanese murder mystery called Hei 1 Tao2 A De Xue3 Zhou4. (The Blood-Curse of the Ace of Spades)
Finally finished Monkey Bridge for contemporary fiction...let me say that it is a very "take off the top of your head and rearrange contents within" kind of book. Enjoyable, yes, happy-ending-make-you-warm-and-happy, no.
For "Much Madness is Divinest Sense", we're going to read Metamorphosis--the course seems awfully similar to "Hysteria", though...*shrug*
Love and Peace, and until next time.

-"Torture device drawings"
...erm...sorry, none here?*cough*
-"Yami and tea fanfiction"
I really don't see a connection, but if you'd care to elucidate, whoever you may be...
and that's about it for a while. *salutes*

Maa Wah--too lazy to retype all my emails here. Suffice to say that everything is well except the fact that I have adapted (I think, at least) to getting up @ unholy hours to do exercise (it's weight training tomorrow, whoo). And the food is...I'm eating too much of it, at any rate. We begin art tomorrow! *excited*

Aloha from GHP, all.
Er...what can I say? Here at a "seasame-sized" college with 700 other peers who are just as insane and fun and all...very exciting. My roomate is quite nice, and I was doubly lucky that my dorm hall happens to be both the largest and the most recently renovated one on campus. *cheer* As for classes: today I went to "Hysteria: Women only?" and another on Contemporary Fiction. "Minors" are to be chosen on Weds.; I have Visual Arts as first choice and Social Studies as second (most likely).
The Lunarpages place (rest in peace) will not be revived for some time (like anyone cares...), at the earliest in August (also when I will finally get manga haul! *drool*). Look for a little thing here on the anniversary, and until later, folks~
