Kleptomaniac version 4 features Dark Moussy from Yukiru Sugusaki's manga, D.N.Angel, semi based around the theme of a rant on Dark I did. Scanning and graphics by Kimiko. This time Kimi decided to go with the dirty grunge look with a splashing of pixels. Lyrics are from "Across The Night" by Silverchair. Fonts from [link]. Grunge brushes from [link]

Kimi: Well, I did warn you I was on a D.N.Angel high.... It's not... too grungy is it? I hope those headings aren't too hard to read.

Hmm, casting isn't looking as bad as I first thought actually...

[link] Gary Oldman (right). He's looking more Sirius-y than I remember him in 5th Element. Actually he reminds me of Aragorn... but in a good way, since Aragorn wouldn't have been too bad as a Sirius... except every time you saw him in PoA you wouldn't be thinking "hey, that's Sirius". It'd be Aragorn.. and that would be odd oO.... *looks closer* Actually now that I look at it, I think he looks more like Boromir than Aragorn. I always thought Boromir was kinda cool in the movie. His actor is cool~ So very English...

[link] Images and casting thoughts for Lupin's Actor, which also has some interesting comments on Sirius (Dunno if you've read these already... I snabbed a link off your link from the casting news). This comment made me crack up, because it's rather true... well, for us anyway -_-
"I think a lot of the really negative reaction to Gary Oldman is that the fanon Sirius, who is a good-looking, motercycle-driving, leather-pants-wearing, temperamental sex god, has become so popular that we've forgotten that in PoA Sirius is a long-haired, obsessive, maniacal man who's just escaped from prison. Which is a role I think Gary Oldman will fit quite nicely. :)"

But an interesting question. What type of dog is Padfoot going to be? o.O....

I think I'v come to a revelation (gasp!). I don't hate Sony anymore... in fact I'm not even sure why I did in the first place. I don't even dislike Sony anymore. Nor do I really hate the Xbox, although really, Microsoft is trying to expand its monopoly with the damn black-brick. If they didn't have have bloody billions to spend on advertising... but I'm not here to grumble. No, the only thing I hate are immature gamers and annoying fanboys. I seriously have to stay away from the GS forums... well, mainly the System Wars forum. Half the people in there are stupid and lacking in some common sense maturity.

oO;..... Er, I think I know who Gary Oldman is now... *twitches*.. I sincerely hope he's better than I remember him to be. Why, WHY couldn't they have gotten Ewan McGregor to play Remmy!!! ;_;.... He would have been so perfect~ Dragon Heart guy would be... alright I guess... But, erg... Until I see them in action/in-character I can't really say, but I have a feeling they're not going to portray them as well as we would have liked -_-;. I mean, all the others have been pretty good (I thought Lockhart was done well ;). And Snape...) but I have a horrible feeling they're going to screw things up. That can't be a good sign can it...?

Oh, and on the subject of actors I was watching Dogma the other week (Hell funny movie btw ;D...) and I knew from the start that guy who plays Metatron was familiar! Took me about a minute to figure out it was Snapes actor.

*Jumps around* If we weren't going back to school this would have been a perfect week! We snabbed another copy of DoA2 off Ebay for 20 bucks, Psykic Force for 7.50 (not bad for a score 7-something game), my LotR ring should be arriving soon, and Nicks' buying a Gamecube tomorrow! (Or maybe later in the week, depends if GameMap have it in). Ah, reminds me I need to ring up about latest ASUKA. Finally, damn it, I get another issue of Hayabusa! Not that I know what's going on, but I really like Onodera Akira's artwork.

Scanner still bust :/

I think we'd better archive this....

"[Casting Confirmations]
An extremely reliable, never-steered-me-wrong source says that Gary Oldman will indeed play Sirius Black, David Thewlis will indeed play Professor Lupin and Pam Ferris will indeed play Aunt Marge. There may be more confirmations on the way. Stay tuned. "

Don't give an owl's shit about Aunt Marge, but WHO? WHO? Gray Oldman? Who's he? Is he cool? Is he sexy? Does he have a drop dead gorgeous butt and can still look good after twelve years in Azkaban? Most importantly, does he reek of sensuality if seen in leather and on a motorbike?!
David Thewlis? What about him? Is he fine? Is he sweet? Does he have the sleepy-professor type atmosphere? Does he have the right amount of wolf-boy angst? Is is hairy?!

I had the oddest dream. Me and some other guy (a bit hazy with details) was fighting Arnold Swa-whateverhislastnameis. We tried to do the neck chop thing but he was too tall, and hitting him was like punching a brick wall. I wonder why I dreamt that?

Kamini has been lazy in blogging. Actually, she hasn't been on the internet all week. School's nearly here again. Sniff. I don't have very much to say.

Yes, the Xbox looks great, I'll admit that (altho DoA3 only got a 7.5 or something. Apparently, once you get over the graphics, which you will, it doesn't offer anything new or innovative). Unfortunately is also seems to garner some of the most annoying gamers I'v ever had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting. Uh, I didn't write that side-comment on Vagrant Story. That was from the gaming site (yeah, shoulda put that bit in inverted commas or something..).

Yes, I expect bias from a console specific magazine, but slandering the other consoles like that...? (And on a regular basis, from what I'v heard) That's taking things a bit far. That's not bias, it's outright console bashing, catering to the needs of the insecure Xbox fanboys who want to believe in the 'superiority' of their own system. The kind of talk which doesn't make me look upon Microsoft favourably, to say the least...

More news that makes me grin:
The Gamecube version for Soul Calibur 2 (it's multi-platform) will feature Link as an exclusive chara XD. He looks cool.... all 3D and whatnot~ PS2 has some guy from Tekken who's name has escaped me, and Xbox will have Spawn. Also, "Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker" will be coming out on the 7th of May over here. Pretty good since it's coming out late March in the US. Metroid Prime, super spiffy game that it is, will come out March here. Tho it did come out November in the US -_-;...

I've been lurking the forums again... neglecting so many duties. Haven't drawn an Oekaki in weeks, nor been on Devart in longer. Dunno, just haven't been in that sort of mood lately :/. Finished Zelda:OoT again~ XD... now have nothing to play, since cheap ass person swiped DoA2. Altho in more interesting news, Mat managed to convince me into buying a replica LotR ring for 25 bucks, Elvish inscription and all. Just need to send the money. And it's almost a perfect fit as well XD (if the size is what I think it is. About the same size as my lizard ring).

Can't wait till we get a Gamecube~ X3... I want that new Zelda... and Soul Calibur 2. And Harvest Moon XD (the SNES version was cool.. who'd thought a game about building up a farm would be so addictive?)

Halo looks absolutely beautiful on Xbox. So does DoA3. I am not joking, it's like watching a bloody movie. But other than that I have no real qualms about Xbox. As for that magazine, what can you expect? It does cater especially for Xbox so you would have to expect that it'll be biased.
And what do you mean by Vagrant Story? I love it, Vagrant Story was good - obviously you'd never played it.

I hate Ebay snipers

XF.... Arggg!! We were bidding on Dead or Alive 2 for our humble Dreamcast... and some annoying person comes in, litteraly in the last few minutes, and out-bids us! How cheap! >:/... I really hate people who do that. Now I understand uwhy people say bidding on Ebay is annoying. So you!! Cheap ass person who bid on DoA on the 15th of January! You're on my hate list now >:/... not that I have one, but damn you, sniper people.

In others news, I am now growing to dislike the XBox (Kimi seems to be disliking wuite a few things, lately...). This mostly stems from ignorant gamers, but also from info I learned about the XBox Oficcial Magazine, and its constant console bashing, which while amusing, is also very immature. (yes, I'v been lurking the forums at Gamespot ;P...).

Excerpt from someone who sent a letter to OXM (Official Xbox Magazine)
February 2003, pg. 15 in your gUppers and Downersh section: Supposedly, this is a section thatfs about ghow this monthfs news affects that world of videogamesh. You then state that the worst news is gGame systems with gpurse-likeh handles.h How the hell is this videogames news? Then you go on to say that Nintendo is being crushed by Sony and Microsoft and that Microsoft is about to lap them. Where are you getting this news?... In worldwide sales, GC is at about 10 million and Xbox is at about 8 million sold. How is being behind by 2 million lapping Gamecube? Then, the news short is finished by gthird parties arenft having any luck selling games for the purple toy.h What a bunch of crap! Yeah, videogames are all toys, including your precious Xbox, but you make GC sound like a childrenfs toy.

February 2003, pg. 28 in the Halo 2 preview: You state that this game gwill be the game that finally makes the PS2 look like the crazy old man itfs become.h This gcrazy old manh, which is a horribly trashy description of PS2 and an insult to videogame journalism, has an enormous library of AAA games that the Xbox canft even compare to....

These examples just show how insecure you are about the Xbox console and how you have to constantly make fun of and bash the likes of PS2 and Gamecube. Your magazine only caters to the immature Xbox fanboys who refuse to like anything else.... your magazine is absolutely the worst videogame journalism I have seen

My dislike for Sony has been replaced by Xbox~ XO... I hope they end up dropping out of the console war, but then again Microsoft has a bottomless pit of money to spend on it -_-;...

Yes, I'm still on a gamers high... and will be for some time, no-doubt.

News that makes me grin XD:
The very tough reviewers at Famitsu (One of the top Japanese gamers magazines) have taken on "The Wind Waker" and have a verdict.
Zelda no Densetsu: Kaze no Takuto is only the fourth game in Famitsu history to receive a 10/10/10/10 ... a PERFECT score. The other three were Vagrant Story (yes, you read that right), the Dreamcast masterpiece that was Soul Calibur, and of course, Ocarina of Time.

(full info at [link]..) Now that just make me want to play the game even more :3. (Is still disgusted at the immature gamers who continue to bash the new Zelda, simply based on its new style of graphics, which imo, look wonderful. Different, but wonderful)

It's alright but I can kinda see why it went out *suspicious* Whassat suppose to mean...?
*shrug* I don't hate Sony as such.... I just have an underlying dislike for it which I can't shirk off. Everyone has their quirky little things, like my habit of never looking at the number 7 when the microwave it counting down, and the fact that I dislike Sony to the point where I deliberately bought a Panasonic Discman instead of a Sony one (The panasonic looked cooler anyway ;P...). You do not question the logic~ Although I do have a reason, but it's not an easily expressable reason. At least, it would involve a lot of ranting... It's just, people jumped on the Sony bandwagon even tho the Playstation wasn't that amazing. People shirked the 64 and the Dreamcast, and now the Gamecube to a lesser extent, because Sony squeezed it's way into the market. You ask people what Console they most want and they'll likely say a Playstation 2. It epitomises that whole sort of franchise thing. People buy what's popular, despite the fact that it might not be as great as something else, and then that something great fades away because people were so obsessed with the "in" thing. I have nothing against items of pop-culture, but when you ignore perfectly good systems like the 64' and Dreamcast just because everyone else is getting the other system, it pisses me off. Shoot, maybe I just like going for the underdogs or something :/... But anyway, that, atleast, is a somewhat of an explanation for why I dislike Sony, as oppose to the reason of "just because". (See, there is some logic to my reasoning after all ;D...)

Aaaanyway... went to Alisons and watched stuff ;D. Saw Legally Blonde and some other things, and player Table Soccer XD. I want a Foozball table now~ That game's fun...

Er, not much else... I've kinda been in a highly procrastinative mood lately, unless you hadn't already noticed -_-;

Algebretcetera - Any mathematical equation that takes up more than a half of a page to complete.
ambidigidexterious - (am-be-dij-e-decks-tear-e-us) adjective The ability to easily manipulate the right mouse button.
Amsomnia - noun When you can't sleep but don't know it, or when you couldn't sleep but don't remember it.
Antinostrician - noun Someone who, for one reason or another, hates their nose.
Aplasticate - verb To smash or squish, as in "Aigh!! A mosquito! Let's APLASTICATE it!"
Awitic - noun. Someone who always says "Awwwww!" whenever they see something cute.
Taken from the Nonsensicon Dictionary.

Dreamcast? I dunno; I've already told you this right? We've borrowed one off Mark's friend. It's alright but I can kinda see why it went out. I don't really know why you hate Sony so much. I hate Microsoft but that doesn't stop me from using their monopolised merchandise. Ah well. Suit yer self.

Aaah, good thing I didn't buy it then... Actually I was flipping through and started reading a bit of it. It was toward the... end -ish, or something. After main guy (Takeo?) killed someone, and was angsty... Felt slashy (was slashy? don't remember very well. Er.... yes. I think I do actually), so was not surprised by your mentioning~ :F... Argg, And I was hoping it would be good... guess not

Have been procrastinating... Actually no, I have been feeling in an uninspired mood and have been on a gamers high. *Brushes dust off old Nintendo 64* Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is a bitch XO... lol, not really, but those damn heart pieces! I emember when I first got it... took me about a week to find the inspiration to play it properly, as oppose to LoZ: Ocarina of Time. Have I mentioned how much of a cool game that is? It's the most kick-ass game for the 64, I say! XD. But alas, I have gotten every conceivable item in that game (except for the Hylian Loacher in the Lake... stupid fish, bite the hook!). Nothing to do~ Except walk around and defeat Ganon again... and again... gosh he's easy tho. I think I've finished that game through atleast 3 times.

I seem to have a knack for buying dud systems -_-;... first the 64 (no so much a dud as shadowed by the success of the Playstation) then the Dreamcast. I hate gamers sometimes. Those people who ignored a perfectly great system like the Dreamcast and let it go to waste. I only ever got 6 games for it... And there were many other kick-ass games for it which I now don't have the opportunity to buy because no-one stocks DC games anymore. A great system, and now a dud because no-one bought it. That's what annoys me... It also adds to my hatred for Sony :F. Damn Playstation... if they hadn't stolen Square~ Sqeezed their way into the console market they did... People are still making PS games, and I can't even get a decent DC game anymore. Plus my Marvel VS Capcom 2 disc doesn't work anymore >:/

I didn't think we were going to bother with a next-gen console... But thanks to Nick, who has cash and knows the Gamecube is a cool system (thanks to games like Metriod, and the Resident Evil series XD...) we're going to get a GameCube soon!! Probably before the end of the holidays. He's vague sometimes... For this, I'm going to save my cash so I can get the new Zelda when it comes out. It looks so... cool! The animation looks bloody awesome~ It's a bit hard to picture without images, but think of it as playing a cartoon (the art style is like an old-style Disney-esque Anime). The facial expression and everything... the fluid animation~ At first I didn't like the new style because it looked so kiddie, but damn... now I'm loving it (want to play it now~). It just looks so cool! >. *Gamers-high~Gamers-high* x.X... that was a useless Rant~

Across the NIghtingale Floor
I don't think you've read it yet, so I won't go into detail.

Overall summary: Orphaned boy discovers that his past and destiny.
I felt the characters were a little... flat. They seemed very 2D to me - you got the basic gist of their character, as if the author had mapped out a basic idea but had never got around to developing it.
The plot was a little slow at the beginnning and towards the end a little predictable. It wasn't BAD but it wasn't GREAT either. I would say that it's worth your time but if you had paid thirty dollars for the volume it was probably a waste of money.
All in all. It was average. It lacks emotion in the writing and could have been so much more, but it wasn't a complete loss. 7/10. Average.

Takeo - blah.
Kaede - blah.
Shigeru - Reminds me of Hokanu ^^
Kenji - He has only one aspect that reminds me of Arakasi, everything else about him is blah.
Leechablity - Hmmm. I would say 7.5/10 (Empire is 9/10)
Warnings - Love/Romancy stuff. And shounen ai.

*heart* *heart* *heart* Got Across the Nightingale Floor today! Was actually looking for To Ride Hell's Chasm but saw AtNF for only $16 (hardback, new release!) and just couldn't let it go. Couldn't find TRHC anywhere. So pretty.............. So far: it's pretty good. Found someone who reminds me of Arakasi except.... older. Hoorah! (Of course, this is based on the assumption that Arakasi still looks like he's in his twenties despite having lived for half a century.)

Colouring? What colouring... *looks around shiftily*. No really, which ones do you want me to colour? If so I'm going to need some info...

Feel like making a new layout for Capricious but have no idea what to do -_-. Hey, are you going to update your comment space on you Sirius pic? It's currently looking rather blank... Urg, scanner is still bust. Need to nag brothers agout that >:/. Is it just me or have we procrastinated largely on our projects? They've been sitting there... for a very, very, very long time. Think it's about time we actually got off our procrastinative asses and did something? (why do I fear this will envolve a lot of proding me to do stuff. What happens when you're the graphics person, I suppose -_-;..). But once school starts we won't have much time.. we should use the holidays to get some of this stuff finished, or else it'll just sit ona shelf and gather dust -_-

Naw, don't have any of that stuff... altho I feel inspired to read a new series some time. I'm strangely limited in my series... I don't seem to have the time or inspiration to move on from things I'v already read~

That's about it. I'm not doing anything interesting. I am, however, curious as to if you're doing any colouring, (like you said you would).

[Edit:] Was finding out stuff about Across the NIghtingale Floor to see if I really wanted it. Someone's brought the film rights to it already.... My brother keeps on nitpicking about TTT... I'm starting to get annoyed with the constant criticism, actually. Why can't people just enjoy the movie for what it is? It's not suppose to be a substitute for the books. Of course they're going to change things. Better to embrace the change, because complaining about it won't do anything.

Lol @ Fangirls XD... is that what I think it's from? It looks like it... but I don't remember any scene like that (must be from the early volumes).

Yes, it seems to be a well circulating fact that they changed a lot more things in TT than FotR. They never went to Gondor, which is causing much ammusument at Sam's comment when they get to Gondor that "We're not even suppose to be here" (Intended, maybe? Or just an oversighted pun...). Nor were there elves at the Battle of Helms Deep (The Ents were missing too)... And nor, I think, did Saruman actually put a spell on.. whatshisname. I don't know who half these people are =_=... King of Rohan-guy. Whatever... that's why I don't read the books beforehand. Makes you more lenient to nit-picking. Ah dunno about that staff-breaking scene... they cut the Movie short from the actual TT book ending tho, so maybe it's in the next one. One might argue that they could have cut down on less useful scenes and done in with some other ones... But I guess they wanted to make the movie the way they wanted to. It must be a hard thing to decide which bits get cut and which don't... and which ones you put in the Extended Edition XD. Trying to explore all of Tolkiens world in three hours? Meep, can't be done I'm afraid...

I dunno, the lustre of the first film has worn off with so many watching, so for me, I just want to go see TT again~ XD. The 1st one was better tho, I think... But I don't really remember my 1st impression of FotR -_-;

What can I say? Whilst I love his shear persistance and dedication for undertaking such a task, Peter Jackson knows how to screw up plot lines very well.
Faramir, you hot and drop dead gorgeous bastard, what have they done to you? I seem to remember him being a wise and less-asshole-ish guy. Didn't he say something about not even wanting to see the ring? And I don't recall such a scene in Gondor. Of course, I admit it's been ages since I read LotR all the way through, so I may have forgotten some bits.
Smeagol is amazing. I love the way he was arguing to himself. People in the cinema kept on laughing but I found it quite amusing as well. Heavens forbid, I thought he was very cute - the whole deal with the rabbits and fish.
ISENGARD! One of the most beautiful scenes in TTT, cut down to a measly few scenes! I was dying to see the sundering of Saruman's power and the breaking of his staff by Gandalf. "Your staff is broken, Saruman!" *crack!* And where was it? Very upset about that. "Not enough time", I hear you say. And why is that?! Stupid Arwen! Wasted! What was the whole deal with Aragorn falling off a cliff, anyway? They could have used that time for the siege of Isengard and the Ents. Very pissed.
I've never noticed before, but I understand now what people mean when they say Aragorn is hot. (And he is, oh, he is....) Gimli and Legolas is, as always, wonderful. I was looking forward to those two competing about the number of dead slain. (Although they missed out on Legolas's concern for Gimli when he didn't turn up at the end of the battle of Helm's Deep. Pfft.)
Helm's Deep, well........... It's nice and everything, but there's nothing very special about it. The Nazgul are perfect. Exactly the way John Howe portrayed them. I love his artwork. He's the most talented artist I know of, (that are currently still alive).
Eomer. Was he ever banished? Don't remember that. However, he was done quite well, so I'll let it pass. Eowyn, was alright. I've always liked her more than Arwen. I'm fond of her moments, the "cage" and the flirting. Ah, leave her alone, she's lonely and Wormtongue's not much of a companion.
Gandalf is FANTASTIC! And that whole battle with the balrog on top of the mountain - I suppose an Eagle would have been appreciated but it's alright. The opening was very good, I thought.

Overall; it didn't quite live up to my expectations of it so I was quite disappointed. I'd give it a 7/10. (FotR: 8/10)

(BTW: Where is Aragorn's Elessar?! Don't tell me that that chunky necklace thing is it. NO WAY.)

....Another star falls in the sky... all things must come to an end

Finished watching the last Cowboy Bebop DVD... ;_;. The ending~ It's always sad when you watch the ending of a great anime. You want it to go on forever, but you know it has to end sometime... I actually thought the ending was quite good. My brother grumbled something about it which made me fear it might be a crappy ending, like Trigun... But it summed up the series well. Makes me want to watch it again... I don't think I quite understod and took in everything. You kinda need to go back and watch thing a few times through to really soak up the experience. Demo, Supaiku-san~ ;_;..... Waa, hidoi XO.... (You kinda knew it had to happen... but there's always that little moment where you hope it isn't true~)...

(thinks whistfully about the cool moments in Cowboy Bebop~)

Got sore feet today... walked around the City and Chatswood, buying stuff... not that much stuff tho. Picked up the latest ASUKA XD... and it has a Lawful Drug clear-file freebie~ Would have been nicer if it was D.N.Angel, especially since Lawful Drug is so... CLAMP-y and slashy -_-;... makes it hard to use at school. I'll be having people wondering if I'm odd or something... Actually, I mentioned to my friend while waiting for TTT to begin that I was reading this really depressing HP fic. And they said "It's not another one of those slashy ones is it?"
"A-another? =_=... what do you mean by that? I don't read slashy fics~!" (death by assumption x_X... I should never have mentioned that Shrivelfig scene at the last HP rant discussion...)
Erm, yeah... anyway. This months issue of D.N.Angel was so... cute~! XD... Eee. kawaii ne, Dai-chan :3... Oh man, some of those play scenes were pricelessly amusing (Poor Daisuke... he really gets the bad end of the stick sometimes -_-;..). Man, the slashy fans are going to be sqee-ing over some panels tho. Probably to make up for the growing evidence of the Satoshi/Risa pairing~ XD (Oh, the fangirls would not see it that way tho, would they...). But those last pages~ Daisuke and Riku really are rather cute together aren't they. Daisuke's just about to get close and personal with Riku... and then he has to scarper ><... And it is clearly evident now that Dark does not share Daisuke's shoe-size. Kekeke XD... Poor Daisuke~ He had to know he'd change into Dark if he tried to do something like that with Riku... But, ack.. So very cute, that close little scene~ (I admit, I was sqee-ing as I read it on the way home ><...). And it's in next months issue as well! XD... Alright, we've been having a very cool D.N.Angel run~ Although that probably means they'll have a really long break -_-

Urg, I went past this layed out table of manga while looking for the Bebop manga's... it was all so very... slashy -_-;.. it was like they piled all the slash manga in the store onto one table, all with their covers up. I swear I have not seen such a collection of guys holding eachother and blushing in my life... and that sentance is going to look so very, very odd. (Insert comical image of Kimi tired looking and twitching... "sigh"...). Too much slash x_X... *twitch-twitch*. Kamui looking angsty again in X... doesn't he always... Gimme a black-ribbon issue any day. *drag-drag* *angst-angst*... get the story moving already ><...

Day was rather prosperous actually. Got a cheap but pretty decent CD-player holder/CD wallet from Dick-Smith and a 4CD plastic holder from Morning Glory since it was cheap... and nifty looking. Only 4 bucks XD~ also got a pacer to replace my green Kiwi one that got lost.. somewhere. That's about it. I was going to get Across the Nightingale Floor, but decided against it since I didn't want to waste 30 bucks on a hardcover copy of a book I'm not sure I'll like anyway. Plus I'll need money for the 10th Wheel of Time book~ One store said they were getting it in on February, the other said I could come in next week and they'll probably have it. I very much hope the latter is true XD. Might be going to see new-years fireworks with friends, but need to ring back about that...

Alright~! XD... New Layout people... Er, not so sure about that spacer tho :/... maybe I'll change it later. Other than that I think it looks rather cool~ I like that pic of Dark... it has very spiffy lighting, and the dramatic folds look cool. Oooh, gosh... hungry. But first, I would likt to present to you my rant on Dark, one of the basis' of inspiration for this layout

[RANT]

"I don't want to let you forget me
I don't want to slip from memory"

[Behind the Enigma]
Who is Dark?

Dark, truth to tell, is my favourite character from D.N.Angel. Although I would not be so philosophical to say that his bishy looks and brash ways have absolutely nothing to do with that. The guys a bish... I know it ;D... and I'm sure he does as well. But that's not the whole reason behind why I like him. I like him because behind his brash ways, Dark has a depth of character that you can't ignore. He's not shallow. Sugisaki has seen well to that. I like him because behind that bishy exterior lies one troubled soul. He epitomises the very nature of our existance. What do we exist for? To be happy? Or to be remembered...

The shadow of doubt behind Dark's brash exterior stems from the very nature of who he is. Or maybe, "who is he..." The truth is no-one knows exactly who he is. What remains of his past has been lost in the passings of time. He exists only as a fleeting figure in the newspapers every 40 years or so. And then after that? The thing Dark fears above all else is not being killed, or losing his love, or even being trapped away for another 40 years. What Dark fears is to slip from the memories of all, forever. "I don't want to let you forget me. I don't want to slip into obscurity" he whispers fervently to Riku while in Daisuke's form, embracing her as if by that action he will survive in her memory forever. Because, after all, who really knows who he is? How much of Dark has been forgotten, forever lost? It is the desire of people to be remembered. To prove that our existance is meaningful.

Daisuke has a family, he has friends who know him and care about him. But more importantly, he has a real life. He exists in and as himself. Perhaps, Dark had these things once as well. Friends, family, maybe that someone special who meant everything to him. People who knew him, could take one glance and remember this or that memory shared in precious company. If he did, we'll never know, but now, all that he was or is is characterised in a paper thin glaze of superficiality. A thief, a womaniser, a brash youth with no regard for rules, who taunts his victims, steals then sweeps away on black wings. It's a superficial appearance, the one which attracts Risa and repels Riku. That, in my opinion, is one of the reasons I think Dark likes Riku. Because she doesn't accept him at surface level, this face he presents to the public. But then, maybe that makes it all the more painful. For if Riku likes and accepts Dark for who he truly is, that he and Daisuke are the same....

At that moment he will dissapear. He will cease to exist henceforth for the person who finally accepted who he really was. That true Dark who has been lost in the passings of time, and once more shall be lost again to the one person he truly cared for. It is perhaps not so much a curse on the Niwa household that Dark exists within them than it is a curse for Dark to exist forever yet not be remembered. And even this mere existance is seen as a burden by Daisuke in the beginning. This mysterious thief suddenly popping out of nowhere and making trouble using his body as an unwilling host. Daisuke does come to accept it however, and even relishes in the existance of his "other side". They are one and the same, co-existing together. Or is it? We never get to see Dark answer this question. He does not desire to dominate their shared relationship, but does that make it a wish for co-existance?

"Who... are you?" I think, that moment in volume 7 where Daisuke didn't recognise Dark epitomised his position. The lives of Krad and Dark may be eternal when compared to the fleeting lives we live, but is that such a good thing? Eternity comes with its hooks... to live forever more yet never be a part of anything. That is the fate of Dark. Even more so, for his time in contact with people is so short. Dark will never hold anything dear to him because when they return that feeling he will cease to be. A lifetime of broken ends and shattered dreams.

"Don't go..." But to what ends? The ending will have to come... but what is that ending? What secrets do the Hikari treasures hold for Dark and Krad... through what threads of memory and future are the answers woven in? How many more burned threads will it take...? The answer to that, only Sugisaki knows

Lord of the Rings~~ Lord of the rings~!! XD.... So coool...

Kimi's verdict: Having not read the books I can't vouch for the authenticity, except for what people have said has been wrong... But I thought it was cool XD. It didn't have the same feel and flavour of the first movie, so for the first half our or so it seemed a bit... odd. Yes, hail the Gimli jokes. Although they were pretty good jokes anyway. Since Merry and Pippin weren't in it all that much they needed a bit of comic relief. Faramir, as other have said, seemed a bit out of character. I guess they "needed to enhance the dramatic tention" as my dad said, but he was more rutheless than I imagined him to be. They failed, imo, to capture Faramir's more cautious side. The one that recognises both the failures and fortune the ring could bring. He was all "we will present the ring to Gondor" without the thinking about what could happen (Yeah, like bringing flying Wingwraiths upon you...)

But the Ents, the Ents I tell you!! (I hope I'm spelling that right) They were... so cool. And rather humerous at times... But, gah... the Ents, people. (You go trash Isengard. Go get 'em!!) What can I say, I felt sorry for the trees in the first film... chopped down like that. And the Battle of Helms Deep. >.>!! Although the stairs and the shield bit was a bit of a showoff on Legolas's part... But the battle was very well done. The dramatic tention~ The sheer scale of it made me think "Wow, shit... they're going to have one hell of a battle on their hands o_o...". Supposedly the battle is 45 minutes long... it wasn't all that wasted in my oppinion~ :3

Ah, Gollum... People say he was done extremely well, and I would have to agree. So deviously creepy~ The way he was talking to himself half the time, alternating cringing open-eyed and forgiving, and malicious slit-eyed and tongue lashing. Very unnerving indeed... And the ring scenes with Frodo. Some of my favourite scenes were those. The heavy weight of doubt, the emotion... you could almost feel the burden of the ring. Its corrupting power heavy in the air like a lead weight. Oh, and the scenes talking about Arwen and Aragorn... they were nifty :3... not sappy, just heartfelt. Rather grim in some aspects actually (Such a cheery fellow, Elrond ;P...)

It doesn't carry the same feel as the first.. but I think they're pretty much on par with eachother. Man... I want to see it again XD

It was a good thing we got there early as well. It was so packed! And all the levels below the cinema were closed... so we had to buy our food from the Cinema. Rip-Off! >:/... that's the last time I buy anything from a cinema. A packet of Starburst Rattlesnakes cost me 4.30... and a medium Coke 3.70... So bloody expensive! ><...

"sighs"... I want to see it again~ You never really take it all in the first time.

*Goes to work on new layout

-_o... Eeep, 'm... you'll have to go to the archive to see the last entry, unless you've already read it... But, er.. needed to blog before you went ><. We got a DVD player for X-mas XD... spent hanf of the day watching Cowboy Bebop~ That anime is cool... Spike is cool XD.. That Balad of Falling Angels Episode is cooool~. Got a CD from my brother... and some chocolates and other stuff~ Eeep, but there was a worm in my Lindt Chocolates -_-... it was just sitting there, looking content while eating through a pistachio nut on top of one of them. It was rather disturbing...

[New Layout~!]... this is what I have so far. Was too lazy to upload it so it's just a s-shot. Rather like how it's turning out actually. I'll probably upload it while you're away, so unless you want mt to change anything immediately we can fix up things when you get back.

Going to see LotR~ X3... should probably get an early night, but I guess it's a bit late for that... You know, I was reading through our really old entries (Oh, I started reading that really depressing HP fic by Rage Point as well... good stuff, but gosh... it's so.. traumatic and depressing) and we really crapped on about nothing half the time, didn't we... -_-;

Um, should probably get to sleep now... well, hope you have fun while you're away anyway~ *Waves* :)
