//...but Nighteyes was gone...//

I am:

PROFESSOR REMUS J. LUPIN

Now here was the Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher everyone liked. Lupin's a nice, mild guy, who treats everyone fairly and isn't biased at all. He apparently looks pretty young, but has grey hairs, and he wears shabby robes with patches on them and carries a briefcase tied together with string. So obviously, this teaching job at Hogwarts was probably his first job in a while. Speaking of which, his classes are more hands-on than textbook, and all his students like it that way. He seems to find the light in every situation, and doesn't seem to panic at all. He's very lively, even though he looks sick and tired half the time, and always finds time to talk to people. Lupin was good friends with Harry's dad when he went to Hogwarts too, so yeah, he does empathize with Harry more so than the other professors. Oh, by the way, did I mention he's a werewolf? Yep yep yep, nice little Lupin is a werewolf. Good by day, but crazy by moonlight. >:D

Sigh, that was way too obvious... although some things now make sense: I always wondered why I liked Sirius so much, even though not much of his character's been shown in the books yet....

Mmmm, very nifty looking... I like the whole 'dark' feel of it.

Were the songs good? I scanned in the pics but it's gonna take me some time to get rid of the lines. It would help of course if this damn comp wasn't so sensitive~~ One little bump to the box and it goes a shinty on me.

Managed to re-calculate the angstiness, although I think that some of the "1 point for every day spent living" Q's blow things way out of proportion, so I scaled those bits down. The sensitivity one especially, since people are usually sensitive from an early age so you have about 8000+ points just from that one question. Plus the time-frame in WoT has me completely out of whack, so I think Rand should be a bit more angsty (I'd place his at 5000+)

Mat - 1455. I also award;

20 bonus angst points because he was killed twice.
20 points for the Shadar Logoth dagger
20 for Shen al Calahar, and the responsebility that follows
10 for memory loss, and subsequent dealing with the Aelfin and Eflin
40 points for pre-destined marriage
5 for Queen Tylin
15 for the Gholem stalker and Forsaken
10 for Lady Luck and her infernal meddlings.

Total = 1595. Strangely more angsty than I imagined... but I feel like I'v miscalculated

Rand - 3973. I also award;

30 for chlostrophobia inducing incidents
100 for sensitive character
60 for being the focus of Forsaken interest
100 because I'm sure I miscalculated on the 'living' bits

Total = 4263. Angsty >.<

Rushton - 1193. I also award;

50 for unresolved mental trauma
25 for responsibility
25 for believing he is failing at said responsibility
15 for unrealised potential

Total = 1380. It's all that unrequited love :/

Elspeth - 2973. I also award;

20 for Dragon
25 for Mat
30 for Rushton
5 for meddling fates
10 for mental ties

Total = 3063. I sense some angstyness..

Rankings;
1] Rand - 4263
2] Elspeth - 3063
3] Matrim - 1595
4] Rushton - 1380

PS. I think we'd better archive it after this.

//...but Nighteyes was gone...//

By "every day spent living" I mean, after the incident, every day until character dies. So, yes, that would be quite a bit. (Esp, if your character does not seem to age for, oh say, five friggin' centuries.)

I haven't actually counted up Arithon's Angst Levels, merely because that would involve too much maths, but I'll just do what you do then....

Arithon: 2500+ (Arithon's alot older than Rand, but I still used the 100 base. Really, I meant around 300 points per year)

~Kam
Howling at the moon on Saturday, April 27, 2002 [11:33 a.m.]

//...but Nighteyes was gone...//

o_O, what a mightily long angst quiz that is... but I did it with a couple of people and came up with some figures. But I didn't know what you meant for "every day spent living" so I just added 100 if the said factor aplied (if it was really one angst point for every day they spent living, then I'm going to have to give Rushton atleast another 15 000 points...)

The stats (based on the Angst Guidelines V1.0, with no extra points awarded);

Rushton - 390 (I thought it would be higher...)
Matrim - 465
Elspeth - 720 (all that fate and destiny stuff..)
Rand - 1500+ (gee, I never realised how angsty he is... probably because of all those wars and bloodshed)

The world of WoLaS is different from those of WoT and tOC tho, so I suspected the levels would be very low. Plus, Arithon is the most angstiest bugger I'v ever see~~! *feels like giving him some of Amelia's Genki torture...*

Meeting at 1, but Shiori might be late. (Not sure)

Aragorn, Aziraphale, Ashton, Aoshi, Alucard..... yes, there does seem to be an extrodinary large amount of them.

Arithon's angst level has maxed out my chart which has a maximum of 5000.... It really depends on what your character has been through:

Kamini's Guide to Judging Angst!

Death Wish: 1 for every day spent living.
Accidently Kills Stranger: 2
Accidently Kills Known Person: 10
Accidently Kills Loved One/Friend: 15-30
Torture: 5
Lasting Mental Damage: 1 for every day spent living
Tragic Childhood: 1 for every day spent living
Abused Childhood: 2 for every day spent living
Loss of Family/Friends/Loved Ones: 5-45 depending on relationship with said person
Cause of High Scale War: 30 plus 1 for every day spent living
Cause of High Scale Deaths and Pointless Blood Shed: 15 plus 1 for every day spent living.
Knowing above two: 80 plus 2 for everyday spent living
Area Destroyed in Said Conflict: 2 or 5 if environment can not be rebuilt/created/is sacred/important to a small child or animal
Sensitive Character: 1 for every day spent living
Forced to Kill Stranger: 5
Forced to Kill Known Person: 15
Forced to Kill Loved One/Friend: 25-50
Any of the Above Three With A Sensitive Character: add 20 to points listed
Betrayal of Friend/Loved One: 10-100
Unrequinted Love: 5 plus 1 every day spent living
Requited Love But Circumstances Forces Partners to Be Apart: 8 plus 1 every day spent living
Mankind's Survival/Other Race's Survival Depends Character's Existence: 1 every day spent living
Knowing the Above: 2/5 every day spent living (Depends if Character has A Sensitive Nature)
Convicted Falsely: Max 20 depends on conviction and convicter's relationship to convictee
Hunted Because Of Above Point: 15 plus 1 every day spent being a fugitive
(or)
In Prison Because of Above Point: 10 plus 2 every day spent in prison
Personal Goals Are Obstructed/ Destroyed Momentarily/ Totally Mauled To Pieces: 5/10/20
Add 5 to each related point:
Can Sing
Can Dance
Can Swim
Smiles Alot
Doesn't Smile Alot
Has Pet (One for each animal, double if has mental link with animal)
Been Through Vigorous Training (double if related to magic or/and murder)
Believes in Destiny
Believes Fate is Out To Get Him/Her
Believes Lady Luck Hates His/Her Guts
Believes Someones Up There Doesn't Like Him/Her
Doesn't Believe in Any Above Points (Such is Life, etc.)

It should be noted that the above are only guidelines and if Angst persists see your doctor. Any further Angst Worthy points may be given, within sane limitations.

All that typing.... urgh.

//...but Nighteyes was gone...//

I dare not gaze upon my journal, because I filled it with crummy things since I had nothing better to do :/.

What time are we meeting tomorrow?

Now that I think about it, there are a lot of bishies who start with 'A'. Armand, Arakasi, Arithon, Ariel, Apep. There's also Alexi in Obernewtyn, who reminds me of Sephy....

I was not thinking of competing with Ari's Angst(tm), just noticing a resemblence. I mean, come on.. the only person who comes close to beating Ari is Angst-Boi Kamui. Some people in WoT have pretty high levels of angstiness too. But Rushton's level of angst is only what I would consider "above normal".... except at the end of the 4th book, where he becomes a bit flinchy and twitchy (uh, 'bad experiences' is all I will say incase you read the books...). Then I would place his angst level at around 80+. Although I don't know what you're gauging your angst on since I still haven't finished the 1st book (>.>!!)

//...but Nighteyes was gone...//

I was tidying up my stuff and I found that journal Mr. Dumbrell made us do in Yr 9. There's some really funny rants in there. (No so good english and bad use of my vocabulary, but funny, nevertheless) I found that one "Voices in My Head; The Victims Strike Back!", gosh, that made me laugh (and the design of that jacket Arithon was running away from). I sounded really fan-girlish in that rant..... good days, good days....sigh.

BB is coming tommorrow, probably.

Ariel reminds me of Armand. And why do so many bishy people have names starting with 'A'?!
Do not even think of competing with Arithon's Angst!(tm) He'll pull some stunt and shock everybody by getting placed in a situation where he may be forced to Kill someone! (Angst Level: +250! Wah!!!!)

I've got a CD-RW, so I'll just put them onto that and you can copy them onto your comp tomorrow.

Will read the fic a bit later. I'm going to grab something to eat and read some more Obernewtyn. Gee, I read it so long ago I'v forgotten what happens -_-;... Hmmm, Rushton reminds me of Arithon for some reason, but with a much, much lower angst level (although I can imagine him being angsty in the next book, when it comes out). Must be the eyes.... Ariel would make a great bish tho XD. He's very girly looking... like Kakyou, only with Fuuma's inherent sadistic streak.

No, you didn't say it was subtle... but in some ways I wish it was... (I'm not going to be able to look at a broom the same way again... -_-;)

Ahaha, now I see why you wanted me to get those songs by The Boom and Spitz... I'll queue some interesting looking Aucifer ones (the search came up with about 120 songs). Will search for puppy list later, but they won't be too hard to find

Subtle? I never said it was subtle, did I? Well, if I did, I lied. I only have it out of loyalty to Hyphen, (The Collected Works of Hyphen!) but truelly, it made me quite sick.....

I can't think of any jpop songs I want right now. Kinda grown out of that guy who sang Heart of Sword, (and can't remember his name either....) maybe anything /ucifer I guess. Maybe.
I wanted those two songs cause Canis has them listed down in her "Puppy Mix". Read her list, she has some great comments. (If you can find any songs in her puppy list, give them to me as well)

Sigh. I'll ring BB t'morrow then, she's probably asleep by now (I doubt it).

Would ring BB but I don't have her number :/. But Saturday sounds good ('gasp' it's so close to the end of holidays already... Damn). Twasn't so much of a parte as a movie night, but it as fun nonetheless (Steph cept on complaining when I made her share the beanbag tho XP..)

Maybe Saturday then? (Wait, BB has SS, maybe after lunch then?) Can you ring her? (>< I don't want to cut off the internet and then reconnect.... you have two phone lines.... ) My place?

Anne had a parte? (Gasp!) Insult! Nah, if it was a sleep over wossname, I wouldn't have been able to go anyway.

I said I was going to catch up on my geography work today. (pft, yeah right.) But I don't have my text book at home with me, so I can't do half of those questions.....

o_O... haven't posted here in a while. Internet was going kinda funkily weird and slow so, yeah...

Yes, yes, lines, lines... no problem at all. Went to see Ice Age yesterday with Steph & Co. but felt very uninspired by it :/... I don't think i'v ever seen a movie at the cinema before where I'v positively been bored while watching it. Sure, the graphics were pretty neat, but the whole cliche sappiness of it all was killing me >.<... (*tender sappy teary eyed moment* gag-gag *Moment where someone might die* Kill him, kill him!! *mement at the end where they come back over the horizon alive* ...well that was sooo unexpected *rolls eyes*). Yup... definetly one for the kiddies :/... I seriously would have preffered Peter Pan over that bag of sappy sugary-ness. Even the occasional bouts of comic humor were not enough to save it from the murky depths.

^@%$!^%#!.... Bloody damn mathew and his eternal fiddling with the computer!! F*ck I'm gonna kick him in the shins when he gets back... Not only are the two computers pulled out, but the mouse isn't plugged in, the speakers aren't plugged in and everything is in a bloody mess! Arrggggggggggggg~~!!!! >_<...

Comics Fest wasn't too bad. Apart from the absolute rip-off entry fee of $13.50 (I litterally boggled when they said how much it was... and do these people really expect a 15 year old to have I.D?!?) it was pretty good. Got two posters for $10 and the Inu-Yasha Movie OST, which I am somewhat beginning to regret. It's an hours worth of music, but a lot of it is very similar to the TV OST. It's good BG music if you want to listen to something other than the sound of silence, but nothing very out-stand-ish. Should've got the Lain or Macross plus Ost :/... but anyway.

Picked up my comics on the way back, and I'm now completely broke and owe my brother $20 (How did I know everything would be in for me?)

Oh yes, the JBP had a stall at the con, and they hade a big collection of very droolworthy artbooks (among the titles I saw were X, KKJ, SNK character illustrations, Angel Sanctuary, FY, Saiyuki, some Ghibli studio ones and some others I can't remember...). But the only thing that would have tempted me to fork out the $50 most of them cost would be Yukiri Sugisaki's NEURTAL artbook. Most of them were very expensive so all I could really do was stare and flick through the pretty pages @_@...

Yes, ph34r the subtle undertones...

I'm always free~~ but mum works mondays, thursdays and fridays (I think). I won't be free this weekend tho :/... comic fair and mirror searching. So probably tomorrow, friday.. or sometime next week will be fine (I'll make sure i have some change this time...)

Carmody writes pretty good books, and both Obernewtyn and Legendsong are fantasy :). Although she hasn't released much in a while (I think Ashling was the last). When we meet up for P.E I can bring some if you want (I've got all of Obernewtyn and Darkfall, and the first OC book is pretty short)

~Kimi
Howling at the moon on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 [09:19 p.m.]

Well, starting from scratch is pretty difficult, so I guess your brothers were just trying to be nice. I suppose they don't realise the subtle undertones a gift could give. (i.e. soap. Girl: How insulting! Boy: What? It's pratical.)

Maybe I should read IC sometime. (Maybe I'll get through my list faster than you, although currently I have nothing on my list.)

Writing books is a hard chore, so normally I take that into account before commenting about an author. Bad is "trees had to die for that load of cr-" (Nothing is worth having to sit through five chapters of slash, not even *yummy* scenes of Armand and victim of choice.)

BB wants to ask when are you free so we can meet up again for P.E. assignment.

Atleast you didn't get a beginners how to draw book from your brothers... I'm sure they were just trying to be helpful.. but now that I think of it it's a bit insulting :/ (how bad did they think my drawings were?... Although they were pretty bad back then IMO -_-;...)

Darkfall is written by Isobelle Carmody. She's an Aussie who also did the Obernewtyn Chronicles and The Gathering. Darfall's suppose to be part of the Legendsong Trilogy, but Carmody must have the worst case of procrastination or writers block I've ever seen. It was written in '97 and she hasen't even released the second book yet -_-...

Fuu~~ some people don't follow directions even if you slapped them with a sign :/

How bad is bad?

Yeah, I tried to make it big so you could see all the people... 200k was about the smallest I could get it

And I'm positive it's Flame of Recca. 32 volumes can change an artists style a fair bit... I think it might be a group shot of the villians, seing as Aoi and Hiruko are among them. I think the girls name is Yanagi, but I'm to lazy to get the manga and check...

Been reading a bit of Darkfall. Trying to see if there are any characters I may have forgotten to leech onto, since it's been ages since I read it. I remember Solen was one of the characters I liked (he has purple eyes, which I find rather interesting), but there weren't many guys in it since the two main protagonists are women. Quite a good read, but I don't know if the author has put out a sequel yet (it was written quite a while ago... '97 or '99, I can't remember). I hope there is... maybe I'll check sometime

//...but Nighteyes was gone...//

Picture takes ages to show up.... while I'm waiting:

Nothing wrong with our TV, it's just that the cable to the wossname outside is a bit screwed so everything comes out fuzzy.....

Hmm, either the manga-ka's style changed alot or we're talking about different series here.... Where's Recca? And the girl, who's name I currently can't remember?

Arrg, peoples name in FoR confuse me :/... Kagura's name actually IS Aoi (I think Kagura is his last name). He's one of the evil people, along with Hiruko...

I think I'm starting to like Mi-chan...He has an angsty past XD. His ability is actually water, and what I mistakingly took for rocks were actually ice-shards -_-... oh, and the name of his sword is Ensui :), but I don't like his anime version XP. They tied up his hair really high and he looks strange...

I can't seem to find any info on Hiruko tho :/...

What's wrong with your TV?

Was a bit bored, so I scanned in this double spread with what I assume are all the secondary/minor charas from FoR. Hmm... That guy in black intruiges me....

*grabs some food and sits down to watch Rove~~

The Night
Tribute to Nighteyes, loyal companion, learned advisor, loving wolf. Gosh, this sounds sappy.
The real reason: Kam sobbed her heart out after [SPOILER] And thus this was created.
Picture from Lonewolf, all characters belong to
Robin Hobb.
