when they say love is blind
i'm starting to believe it
cos i fell, and it wasn't there to catch me

happy threesome
after some time of not seeing each other, we're back together again.
and when we're done, i'm left breathless, sweaty and wondering if i could've put in a little bit more effort to make it better.
yep, just the 3 of us: the weekend, me, and the 5k

Where you are seems to be
As far as an eternity
Outstretched arms open hearts
And if it never ends then when do we start?

as i read off the two pieces of paper in my hands, i read the words that would inevitably keep him in for next 7 months; 4, if he was good.
the court is adjourned.
prison is not a nice place. but standing in front of him, behind a yellow line and between bars, felt like an even uglier place to be in.
it felt like they forgot the most important part of his mitigation plea.
the plea.

goodbye sleep...
"Political scientists and commentators have given the country various labels ranging from an authoritarian democracy to a benevolent dictatorship. Each of these terms is intellectually defensible in its own way, but they are also laden with so much baggage that they tend to provoke knee-jerk reactions, more than they evoke replfection. So, think of Singapore instead as the Air-conditioned Nation - a society with a unique blend of comfort and central control, where people have mastered their environment, but at a cost of individual autonomy, and at the risk of unsustainability"
a fresh breath of honesty.
when's the last time you felt it?

that's what best friends are for
duty free.
among other things, undoubtedly.
on another note, it was nice witnessing this - my first - batch of recruits passing out today, tossing their GI caps with sincere jubilation. it's one of those days when NS doesn't seem a chore. and that look was painted all over their faces.
bittersweet. but momentuous.
not an entire batch to call my own, but unforgettable nonetheless.
thanks, guys.
i'll see you at zouk tomorrow night.

it's been long 2 weeks, and i've grown used to 'yes' becoming 'no' and on the sunny paradise island of tekong have welcomed 3 friendly visitors on a stop-over holiday.
looks like uniquely singapore is working like a charm
the first flush of youth was upon you when our eyes first met
and I knew that to you and into your life I had to get
i felt light-headed at the touch of this stranger's hand
an assault my defences systematically failed to withstand
cos you came at a time
when the pursuit of one true love in which to fall
was the be all and end all
love is only a feeling drifting away
when I'm in your arms I start believing It's here to stay
but love is only a feeling
anyway
the state of elation that this unison of hearts achieved
i had seen, i had touched, i had tasted and i truly believed
rhat the light of my life
would tear a hole right through each cloud that scudded by
just to beam on you and I
love is only a feeling drifting away
when I'm in your arms I start believing it's here to stay
but love is only a feeling
anyway, anyway

when your kickass girlfriend becomes an ex girlfriend
it might feel like a tragedy
when your ex girlfriend becomes a kickass friend
you start to think that you must have done one thing right in your life.
you-know who, this one's for you.

if everyone did only what they had to do and no more
said only what they'd been told to say
heard what they wanted to hear
how'd you think it'd turn out?
thats why we have the choice to hear what we might not want to hear
do more than just obligatory, walk further than required
say not just what's on our minds but also in our hearts before being asked
they make the brush strokes of the masterpiece that is life
they make the difference between a minute or a moment
between a memory or magic

yesterday was spent in entirety in slumber.
only to wake up and find dancing monkeys in colourful costumes on the telly.
i knew then that i had to go back to sleep.
this morning i look forward to better tv and what do i stumble upon?
friggin' rambo II on axn. if matters couldn't possibly get worse, they did. rambo III was to follow in a movie marathon.
folks, let's not blame the education system for teenage suicides. it's actually movies where among all the characters, sylvester stallone's speaks the best english.
now that i've mentioned it, i went to check the rest of the movies. and.
seems like all the heroes cannot speak english.
presenting: arnie (i won't bother trying to spell his last name) in last action hero jean claude van damme in maximum risk
note to self: i need more non-chinese friends cos the world has seemed to stop this chinese new year. can't even get my ear pierced because everything is closed. (no pun intended, honest!)
