T and I had dinner with our neighbors Bill and Matt last night. We had a fabulous time with them, as usual, but we are paying the price today. Bill and Matt are DRINKERS, you see, and we always get completely wrecked when we spend an evening with them. Every time I go over there, I give myself a stern talking-to and promise myself that I won't get trashed. And it never works. Bill and Matt are slick hosts, refilling glasses the second they become empty, and they can always convince me to have "just one more" when I know I've already had several too many. It's crazy, really.

In my hungover haze today, I have been giving a lot of thought to my New Year's resolutions. Yep, I'm a resolution-maker. A lot of people I know think that New Year's resolutions are bullshit, but I love the clean-slate feeling I get at the start of each new year... it really motivates me to make positive changes.

This coming year is going to be a big one for me. I really believe it. I have big plans. I look forward to reclaiming my health, devoting myself more fully to my yoga practice, and divesting myself of some pesky emotional baggage that's been weighing me down. I have a lot of work ahead of me, I realize.... but so much of it, particularly the health/yoga stuff, is going to make me feel SO GOOD and I am really looking forward to that! I look forward to feeling more balanced in all aspects of my life, and I truly believe that the reward for my efforts will be a constant feeling of motivation and YES that will be with me always.

I can't wait to get started...

Happy New Year, everyone!

I'm finally resurfacing after a hectic month of (mostly enjoyable) holiday-related craziness... I hope you all had a great December and a good time celebrating your holidays of choice.

I just realized that it's time for my yearly music favorites list. So, in no particular order, here are the best new releases of 2007 according to me. I have played the hell out of each one of these albums and highly recommend them all:

The Shins: Wincing The Night Away
Feist: The Reminder
Eleni Mandell: Miracle of Five
The Bees: Octopus
The White Stripes: Icky Thump
Nyles Lannon: Pressure
Quantic Soul Orchestra: Tropidelico

What were your favorite new albums this year?
