Piper refused to wear the costume I bought for her, so we were a little bah-humbug around here today. Actually, Piper was fine... I was the bah-humbuggy one. I am one of those parents who loves to revel in the cuteness of my child, especially when she is wearing a ridiculous outfit. So I was a bit disappointed that she wanted nothing to do with Halloween. I put her in an orange and black ensemble and gave her a pumpkin bucket to play with and that cheered me up a bit. I also took her to a party in the neighborhood so she could mingle with all of the costumed kids and eat sugary crap. Amazingly, she bypassed the cookies and candy and made a beeline for a platter of watermelon instead. She also refused candy from all the old biddies we passed on our way back home. I, on the other hand, have eaten way too many snack-sized Snickers bars and peanut butter eyeballs and my body chemistry is completely whacked out. Ah well, tomorrow is another day!
It's been a few weeks since my last post. Where have I been? Picnic-ing (Piper's new favorite activity), enjoying a new yoga class, apple picking, experiencing the exhausting "Terrible Twos" alongside my lovely daughter, drinking chamomile tea, making soup from scratch, mentally preparing myself for the cold weather, and watching lots of Sesame Street. Good stuff. I'm sure I'll be back to blogging regularly once it starts snowing around here. Until then, we'll be outside as often as Piper is willing to go, and the blog is likely to suffer a bit.
