Our new house is beginning to look like a home. Phase II of the big move is tomorrow and starting tomorrow night, we'll be sleeping over there. We have approximately three more weeks to tie up loose ends at the old place, which is a good thing because our new kitchen isn't finished yet. We're still waiting on the new countertop and sink, which could take a while. The two places are only three blocks away from each other, so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to do our cooking at the old place in the meantime.
More photos to come as the house shapes up.

T and I are getting ready to move to the new place. Phase One of the big relocation begins bright and early on Saturday morning. One of T's work friends is coming over to help him to transport the majority of our furniture, our vinyl collection (which is damn heavy!) and whatever boxes I've managed to pack up between now and then. Meanwhile, my mother and I will be attacking the kitchen and boxing up everything in there. Once the boys are finished moving stuff, Mom and I will go over to the new place and unpack everything so we can re-use the boxes for Phase Two (taking place the following Saturday). Needless to say, our current apartment is a pigsty. There's no point in putting stuff away because it will need to be packed up and moved within a week anyway.

The days are flying by and there isn't nearly enough time to get everything done. We've got another wedding to attend in a few weeks - my oldest friend, Tatiana, is getting hitched at a small restaurant in Newport, RI. I've never been to Newport and have always wanted to go, and of course I'm looking forward to celebrating the happy occasion, but I selfishly wish that it was happening in 2006 instead. We're also taking a trip to IL at the end of November to spend Thanksgiving with T's family. Occasionally, I remember that the holidays are right around the corner, and I begin to panic. I have absolutely no idea when I will find the time to shop. And let's not forget the small matter of my giving birth in 12 short weeks, quite possibly sooner!

Work is really, REALLY slow right now. It's either feast or famine at that place... and this week, we are literally starving for things to do. It's gotten so bad that I have been bringing a book with me. I can't explain how frustrating it is to be sitting on my ass each day for 7 hours with nothing to do, when I have a million moving-related chores that need my immediate attention.

The contractor has been over at our new place this week overhauling our kitchen. It's looking really nice so far:

Notice the shiny, new dishwasher! Next to come: a new sink and countertop. It'll be looking pretty spiffy once we add some paint.

So that's what's been happening in my neck o' the woods. I'll write again when I can, but I'm not quite sure when that will be.

T and I had a great long weekend in North Stonington, CT, where our very good friends Heather and Rob were married. We stayed at a super cool inn, which also happened to be the wedding venue. Here's a picture:

It was overcast and rainy for the majority of our visit, but the event was very beautiful and festive nevertheless. It was great to see Heather and Rob and be in their wedding party. We miss them a lot - hopefully they will come to their senses and relocate to the East Coast soon.

We're off to CT in a few hours for Heather & Rob's wedding festivities. Should be a great time. More when I return.
