*whoop of joy*
Ahem. I just looked at the sheet I use to track all my graduation requirements. According to my count I have eleven more classes that I need to take on campus. I will be on campus for five more quarters (since I'll be on study abroad for two quarters next year), taking three classes each quarter. This means I have four spare credits to use for work on my senior project and taking a couple of fun classes that have nothing to do with requirements at all. I am a happy munchkin now. ^_^
Add the above to the fact that last night Alison let us know she's taking our group of friends here on a "date" on Feb.2, and other happy making things mentioned in the previous entry, and you have me wanting to do the happy dance.
Why then, must I go do Fundamentals homework and prepare for sleep? Wednesday, January 23, 2002,09:03 p.m.
You know you're a college student when...
Two superpretzels (the big, chewy kind ^_^), some mashed potatoes, and a few carrots are dinner. Gotta love that cafeteria food. *rolls eyes* Next week I'll be free from it for at least one meal a day, though, since I'm bugging TrunksMike to take me to Meijer for FOOD. So I can fix lunch or breakfast in my room should I need/want to. Yays.
I'm really to have to wake up a little about Fundamentals of Acting (Fundamentals). I got a zero on a quiz today 'cause I forgot to read a play that had been assigned. :/ Very not like me, but I'd been preoccupied with getting ready for the weekend and shtuff. Like homework for other classes and other Fundamentals homework. Meef. I just hope I get a decent grade on the journal I'm tourning in on Friday. It's very hard to tell what the teaches want sometimes. I guess I'll just have to see. We do get to start on monologues and scenes soon, though, which I'm really looking forward to.
Otherwise the day was happy-making. I got my Trowa/Quatre doujinshi which has much pretty artwork. I also got to listen to the Titan A.E. soundtrack I picked up over the weekend. Wheeee~. Let's hear it for friends recommending music from movies I've never seen. The soundtrack's good. May just have to make some mp3s. Hey, I own the CD, it'd be legal.
Now to toddle off to a GLBTSO meeting. ^_^ Wednesday, January 23, 2002,06:41 p.m.
Long weekends, how do I love thee?
Because you are so much fun. ^_^ Had a good time at TrunksMike's over the weekend. Watched lots of different stuff on vids (hey, we barely ever get to do it here), went to see Lord of the Rings again, and went to Borders. Videos were a fun trip down memory lane as well as a fun anime fest. We watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (old cartoon-lots of laughs) and Donald Duck Presents when I wasn't showing him what I have of Gundam Wing (he liked ^_^) and the bit in Slayers Try where Lina uses the Ragna Blade (he loves all the spells and wanted to see it). We also watched some Dragon Ball Z, even a raw ep of it on the International Channel. I had to translate for him whenever I started cracking up 'cause I could actually understand some of the Japanese.
I also got to meet some friends of Mike's family and his grandmothers, and he showed us all pics from his recent visit to Israel. Very cool stuff, that. And Bailey, his family's dog, is great. Puppy therapy should be recommended for all stressed-out college students. As should occasional weekends of doing nothing constructive and reading. I now officially own and have read the first Sandman graphic novel and think I will eventually want to get the others. I happy.
On a complete subject-change note: the latest constructive criticisme debate. I have a hard time giving criticism, since I'm afraid of offending or bothering (in the case that I don't know the person very well). I will, however, give constructive criticism when specifically asked. ^_^ If someone's giving me their opinion of my writing, I appreciate honesty, but trashing or pointing out only the off points annoys me. I like to know what I'm doing right, for crying out loud.
I seem to be in a minority of writers that don't always wish to destroy their old stuff. I mean, I'm glad that I've progessed above a middle/high school level in my writing and earned the respect of my CW teacher last quarter. But sometimes I like looking over my old stuff. It might be silly, practice, needs-work stuff, but it's MY silly, practice, needs-work stuff, if you take my meaning. Though I guess I have the advantage of not having it posted on the 'net for all to see.^^;;; I can choose who I show it to. Tuesday, January 22, 2002,9:23 p.m.
*laments having no Hobbit gear*
'Cause it was Middle Earth night at the cafeteria~! ^_____^ They had Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring posters up in the cafeteria and people dressed up and they were giving away posters. You had to stump a guy who's LotR knowledge was fairly extensive to get a poster, but I managed. ^________^ *happy sparklies and dance of joy* Let's hear it for my capacity to remember facts I read on the 'net and D for giving all sorts of knowledge in the discussion on LotR fic/slash. :)
Quite a fun close to a day that started out with me waking up late, having to skip breakfast, and being half an hourlate to Intermediate Fiction. I hope Andy doesn't hate me for being late. And since the day is turning out so good, maybe what started out as a sucky week will get better. I get to leave campus at about 1:30 tomorrow to visit with TrunksMike for the long weekend~. He's going home and I'm going with him. 'Twill be nice to get off campus for a weekend.
Oh, and I got an email from Okaasan saying that my otouto, Ren, can now read enough hiragana, kanji, and English to read the birthday card I sent him all by himself. At all of six years old. I'm very impressed. ^_^
And now I am off to pack and do homework so I don't have so much work nagging at me over the weekend. Thursday, January 17, 2002,06:25 p.m.
Today on Animal Kingdom...
I have finally come to the conclusion that animals on this campus are too brave. Last quarter there was the squirrel right outside my window. This quarter there's a bird in the downstairs lounge. Do not ask me how it got in there. It must have followed someone in. I just hope it leaves soon, unharmed, and does not dive-bomb any innocent passers-by.
In other news, it's been a typical weekend. Trying to get work done, but not really succeeding. Downloaded a few more anime music vids from animemusicvideos.org. ^______^ But there's one or two that I want that are being difficult. :( Bridget's visiting for the weekend, but I have seen neither hide nor hair of her or Mike. Boo.
Found out Friday that while I didn't get a part in Twilight, I made callbacks for the student directed plays. I need to be there tonight at 7:00, preferably earlier. Here's hoping I get a part. *crosses fingers* Sunday, January 13, 2002,01:48 p.m.
Ramdomness, as I have not much to say
Misery is wanting something from the snack machine, yet having no change for it and no dollar bills. Oh well. It's not too long 'till time for dinner. I'll live.
I've never really posted test results here, but here's a few:
For the Harry Potter couples selector:
# 1 Sirius x Lupin
# 2 Draco x Harry
# 3 Harry x Ron
# 4 Harry x Hermione
# 5 Lily x James
And my spirit animal is:

My Spirit Animal is the Wolf!
Cycle of Power: Year Round - Full Moons - Twilight
Aspects: Guardianship, Loyalty, Leadership, Ritual and Spirit.

Sam may not be my favorite character in LotR, but he's cool. Don't mind being him, I can see some similarities between us. I'm surprised that all those couplings involving Harry were at the top of my list there, since I don't usually concern myself over his love life. I just figure he'll end up with whoever he ends up with. But I am a Sirius/Remus fan, so all's good. ^_^ And I like wolves, so that's happy-making too. I'm trying not to consciously manipulate these tests, but it's hard. I'm currently battling the HP character selector. Unless I deliberately manipulate it, it casts me as Hermione or Ginny. I don't mind those characters and can see how I'm like them in some ways, demo sa...I'm not totally like them. O_o Thursday, January 10, 2002,03:57 p.m.
