Back
Well, what can I say? It was a funeral. Not all my family could make it, but it was nice to see those that were there. All of my mom's siblings (it was her sister's husband that passed away) made it up, which was great. There were some three-hanky moments but also some really funny moments, too. And hugs. Lots of hugs. Having a group there really helped. Now we just have to get used to the fact that a member of our family isn't here. Or, at least, I do.^^;;; For others it's a bit more complicated.

And now I am going to go to sleep. Working and archiving tomorrow.

Return to normalcy...
Somewhat at least. I think the major shock of everything is starting to wear off and I've got major stressors under control. The shock and suddenness of having to make plans is what mostly had me down. Yes, I am sad that my uncle died, but I'm not the type to lock myself away or grieve in a very loud, obvious way. Even if I wanted to, which I don't. Only my friends, the teachers whose classes I'll miss tomorrow, and a few other select people here know. I'll deal with it in my own way, on my own time. I can't put my life on hold, though I'll go to the funeral and pay my last respects and support my aunt and cousins. Other than that, I've got classes and finals to deal with, and everything's under control there. Just a few more edits and a short story for Creative Writing, and a final exam. Shakespeare recitation done and recieved a solid "very good." Talked to Michelle last night, which was nice. Lucky person's already home for winter break. >_< My Creative Writing class had a reading tonight, and I'll be danged if we didn't kick some major arse with our stuff.^_^ I'm going to miss that class...

Must pack and go to bed. Leaving for airport at 9:45.

Where's the pause button?
Because I'd like to use it so I can get my life together again. As it turns out, my uncle did pass away, last night to be exact. I'll be going to the funeral and such this weekend. Leave Friday, come back Sunday. Take Classical Mythology final and hand in final anthology and story for Creative Writing. Go home for Winter Vacation next Friday. Proceed to sleep for 12 hours that night. Sounds good to me.

Entries will be sporadic until situation settles. G'night.

Mommy, can I hide away now?
Good things happening recently:
--I had a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation at Megan's. Got much work done but also had fun. We saw the Harry Potter movie which I <3 very much, and I got books 2 and 3. Sirius is my fave, along with Lupin.^_^
--My friend Jessie's Intro to Creative Writing class reading tonight went well. I hope mine on Thurs. does too.
--My roommate, Kimie, totally rules. She calmed me down when I was upset earlier and gave me a cup of Japanese green tea.
--Bridget, a good friend from last year, is visiting this weekend.
--I got an "A" on my review of our school's production of As You Like It for Shakespeare, and my totally cool Shakespeare prof is now my advisor.
--Actually seem to be able to stick to the work schedule I wanted to have for this last week before finals.

Bad things happening lately:
--My petition to get out of the P.E. requirement here due to a wrist problem was denied. I'll now have to fight much to get out of P.E. Suck. >_< I have a splint I can wear while typing, but P.E. is another story.
--My mom called tonight while I was at dinner. She's in North Carolina, where my uncle who was in the hospital last week lives. This does not bode well.

If the good things outnumber the bad, why do I just want to get into bed, pull the covers up, sleep, and not go to Creative Writing tomorrow?

We came. We saw. We gave thanks.
Well, Thanksgiving is over and done with, and I'm back here at school after a visit to Megan's. Since I didn't get to make it the day of, here's my list of things I'm thankful for:

My friends here and in Kentucky. They listen to me, pick me up when I'm down, and are generally the most wunderbar people I know.

My families. All of 'em.^_^ No matter how difficult family dynamics are.

People that I'm getting to know on the 'net. 'Cause they rule.^_~

Having everthing I need and more. As often as I say "Oh, I want *insert item name*," I am well aware that I have more than I need and I'm happy that I have the means for getting not only what I need, but also what I like and want.

Corny as it may be, 'tis true. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!^^ Log of weekend's events to follow.

Le mew.
Hey, after reading a performance piece in which I pretended to be a kitty cat, hopefully that's not a surprising title for this entry.^^;;; Yep, it was performance piece day in Creative Writing today, folks. No workshopping, just having fun hearing what everyone else wrote. There was a really good, funny piece on staff in department stores, beginning and ending with this:

I pledge allegiance to the sales
of the designer malls of America
and to the Banana Republic for which we stands
One consumer under Calvin Klein...

That's all I can remember of it, but you get the idea. We were laughing our arses off for most of the class. It was also Donut Day for our class, meaning my teacher brought in donuts for us and there were many random shouts of "Donut Day!" XD I love the way my CW class is cool and relaxed. Makes me less nervous on days like today. And I really needed the good laugh a couple of days after getting the news that one of my uncles is in the hospital. No news so far, so I'm thinking that he's either still at the hospital or gone home. *crosses fingers*

And tomorrow I go with Megan to her house for Thanksgiving vaca~tion. ^_^ Still have to go my Classical Mythology class, but Shakespeare is cancelled.^^ I'd actually rather have it the other way around, but beggars can't be choosers. And the Odyssey is fun and fun to discuss.^^

Hmmmm....This is very interesting. It's good that they explained that it's supposed to be hyperbole so that I don't take them at their word. That being said, whoever wrote this still sounds like an idiot, to me. I'll admit I'm offended, but not to the point at which I write an angry email. It's not worth the energy. I have no problems with someone disliking a show and thinking it's silly, but expressing an opinion this way turns more people off to a way of thinking than it gains supporters.

Maa, and to close of a long, disjointed entry, I'll take this opportunity to say: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!^_^ Have safe trips and a good holiday.^^

Tadaima~.
Kei-chan's back! XD Things are calming down here somewhat and I'm working out ways to get things done in a way that minimizes stress, so~...I'm online again. In a very limited way until schoolwork and Christmas rush dies down, but I should be blogging somewhat regularly and visible on MSN Messenger n AOL IM during the day. Evenings I dunno about yet. Must rush to Classical Mythology. More later on what's been going on should anyone care to hear it.^^;;;
