I love Getbackers. -_-;;

It's so cheesy, the plotline is so very predictable and Ginji is far too genki for his own good...but it's so fun!

I don't actually dislike Ginji now, I decided, (*hears joyful squees of Lizzu*) but I still like Ban more. He spends about ninety percent of his screen time pushing his glasses up. This is a mark of cool. ^_^ I am minorly disappointed with this Jackal character...he's a bit too bishounen (as opposed to biseinen) for me to really like him. But then considering who people were comparing him to I did have huge expectations of him being the best thing since...well, Alucard. Jackal is alright, but he's not the vampiric one. ^_^

Going back to watch the grand prix.

Listening to/Whining About: oww... -_-

This shall not a happy blog entry be. My neck hurts from having sat with it cricked funny all afternoon toiling over Coptic translation. Coptic translation doesn't make me particularly happy either.

Yesterday was considerably better than today. Went to see Welcome to Collinwood with a selection of the Ass no Ryu, which was quite silly but amusing nonetheless. Not as good as Ocean's Eleven, but I did enjoy it. And the BMW short before it was....*very very surreal*. Chattage and general bobbins afterwards were fun. Arislan is very pretty even though all the headgear looks like it's straight out of Saint Seiya. ^_^

Today has been...uninteresting. Woke up about twelve due to sleepage only beginning at four thirty, then had absolutely no desire to do any work so watched 8-13 of Wolf's Rain, like I said before. Toboe still irritates me no end, and Kiba is brill, no matter how unpopular both my opinions are. -_-

Feeling a bit miffed at present with the fact that they moved into the new house today. To be honest, I just feel sort of left out. There wasn't anything we could do about it, because I have to be here, but it's a bit like "we've moved to a new house that I've never been to before and didn't help move into...and now that's home." I know it doesn't make much sense, but it just makes me feel a bit sad. I really haven't had anything to do with the move at all. They decided it whilst I was in America, the house got sold when I was in Oxford, and now we're moved house in the middle of term. I guess I just feel a bit out of place everywhere at the moment...not exactly the best feeling in the world. There's not much point getting miserable about it though. The new house has a fish pond. I'm allowed to name some of the fish. That's one good thing. ^_^

I'll drown my sorrows in Sainsbury's walnut cake. ^_^

Time: 12:19 a.m.
Listening to/Whining About: Mmm...sleep-deprived....

It has, however, been a fun day. Today was May Day, of course (well alright yesterday was May Day but in my head it's still Thursday night o_0) and this being Oxford, traditional much fun was had. Particularly since the Ass no Ryu invaded and slept on my floor. Gotta love this town centre location. ^_^ I hope much fun was had by all, it was by me.

The whole May Day thing is really smashing me. I love it to pieces...the sleep deprivation, the trawling out at stupid o'clock in the morning to share a bridge with a wretched smell of alcohol. No, really, I do like May Day. ^_^ The people around us did rather make me angry though. If you don't want to listen to the singing/prayers, don't, but shut up whilst I do! *glares at people in general* >_<

Had a lovely classy breakfast at McDonalds, which was quite enjoyable...there's nothing like a strawberry milkshake thick enough to make you suck your own tongue out to wake you up in the morning. ^_^ Following such delicacies, I came home, wondered at the bizarre things Jane was looking at on the internet, then promptly fell asleep. Mmmm sleep. Shame I had to get up not too long after to do Coptic. -_-

Evening brought animesoc...or not as the case turned out to be, with some nasty set of people having stolen our room. >_< So Tasha's room was invaded and new stuff was watched. I should probably actually express some opinions on things we watched, just to be interesting for once...

*ahem* D N Angel!! Heeee!! ^____^ I do like D N Angel very much. Dark is exceptionally, exceptionally cool. I like the fact that it has the element of humour to it too...it's a nice change.

Last Exile...oh so very very pretty, so very pretty. Gonzo have really stepped it up a notch for this one. (*hits Gonzo* make more Hellsing and make it as pretty as this!! >_<) Reminds everyone of so many other animes though, it's really odd.

Matantei Loki is very very odd. Creepy odd. Poor Lizzu was scared witless at the evil doll. ^_^;; Looks like it may become interesting, and has a very very cool ending theme. ^_^

Getbackers....strangely shares the shame plot as Matantei Loki. o_0 No, really, it does. It was silly, Ban is a dude and I think I'll end up liking it. ^_^

And just because I'm talking about new anime, I shall wave my flag in support of Texhnolyze, which was slagged off by him not too long ago. And alright I'm in the underwhelming minority of one as regards people who like it, but I like über-pretentious and Texhnolyze does it oh so very prettily.

I should sleep soon. I have a Coptic tute tomorrow. >_<

With my brain in its current state of decay, finding this on MSN's news amused me muchly.

Man dials 999 as wife won't cook dinner
LONDON (Reuters) - An angry husband made an emergency call to police -- because his wife refused to cook him his dinner. The man dialled 999 in a fury, demanding help from officers because his wife was busy decorating, Avon and Somerset police in western England said on Thursday. The plea was one of a number of genuine calls made by the public to police which the force published on its website to highlight abuse of the emergency number. "My wife's left me with two salmon sandwiches which was left over from last night, and I'm sat in the chair here and she's out there decorating," the man told the police operator. "She won't put any food on or anything for anybody." The operator is then heard interrupting him saying: "I'm sorry but I really can't take this. It's not an emergency because your wife won't give you anything to eat." In another call, a woman phoned police to say she couldn't find her glasses and needed them to cook her potatoes.

You can tell I don't want to do any work, I'm blogging. ^_^ I think everyone else who's reading this is Oxford probably feels the same way as me right now. I don't want to go back to lectures! >_< 0th week has been far too much fun and I'd rather just not get back to work and stay like this. But, such things are inevitable so I guess Coptic has to be done.

Amusing couple of days it has been though. Yesterday was good. The Ass no Ryu invaded after lunch at the fountain of healthiness (the juice shop in the Covered Market, of coure! ^_^) and merrily was videogameage partaken in all afternoon. ^_^ And they made me buy things! Oh cruel fate why must you give me such weakness for Playstation games with excessively cool biseinen in!? Well alright maybe I wasn't forced, but it was about time I got a copy of Devil May Cry 2 anyway. ^_^

So the day was pretty much Gitaroo Man/DMC2/Final Fantasy VIII after that. I was employed to fend off Edea, albeit unsuccessfully the first time since we'd forgotten to junction any sort of resurrecting spell or item to Squall (^_^;;) but she got got in the end. Jane has a most unique way of playing that game...she likes her GFs. ^__^ It's the great happiness at killing solitary Galbadian soldiers with Quetzcoatl that amuses me...*insert Jane reign of terror over polygons laugh here* That said, she did pull off a bit of a stunt beating the red dragon with only Laguna junctioned. I am suitably awed at the progress of your mad FFVIII skillz, oh lover of the bumbling biseinen. ^_^

Other sampled gameage of the day was Onimusha 2, and lo did they shriek in terror at the crapness of the dub! A shriek that was only matched in its enthusiasm by the huge squees at ninja uke boy, whatever his real name is. He is small and ukeish in his adoration of the main character...

Alright, enough of that. I'll do some translating.

Listening to/Whining About: Nothing, Oxford is its lovely self.

Today has been a muchly enjoyable day. ^__^ After the adventures of last night, I woke up at about ten thirty and stumbled around for a little while. Not long after, I got a text from Jane asking if she could come and learn the marvels of Final Fantasy VIII. Verrily did I agree to such a joyful distraction, FFVIII being the greatest of all videogames and company always being welcome in my little abode.

And we played. And we played. And we played some more. ^__^ I think the counter had hit about seven hours by nine this evening. (The missing hours were filled with making noodles and going to the new and not at all improved Queen's Lane Coffee House to meet Tasha). Other members of the Ass no Ryu arrived throughout the day and much fun was had by all laughing various layers of hilarity I never knew existed in that game. ^_^ Laguna is a officially a dear.

I haven't had so much fun in ages, I really haven't. ^_^

Shame I've got to do Coptic and tidying up tomorrow. o_0

In other news, I found this quote on a page of Animenation about one of their people who went to Gonzo Digimation recently:

"When asked about the possibility of more Hellsing animation, Gonzo President Murahama-san said that the studio would like to make more. Pioneer, likewise, who expected to sell 7,000 copies of the first DVD in America, sold 40,000 in the first two weeks, is also eager to see more Hellsing animation produced. But the final say lies in the hands of Hellsing creator Kouta Hirano."

This paragraph, despite being pie in the proverbial sky by my pessimistic half's thinking, makes me very happy. Not only is the desire for new Hellsing a jolly good idea, but them's some impressive sales figures for the dvds. ^_^ Admittedly this is probably because it appeals to the cheap thrills blood and guts brigade. *weeps about how they ought to see it for more than just that* More Hellsing anime, please. But just don't screw up the ending like you did with the first series. >_< We want Millenium in the anime!!

And just for randomnity, these make me laugh very much. Alucard and Anderson and the baskets and the radish (?) on page 6, particularly. Oh and Hamtaro Integra (yes you read that right o_0).

Well, I survived and that's the main thing. Felt decidedly sick before/after having injection, but I think that's more the fact that I get myself so ludicrously worked up about it rather than any ill-effects of the jab. I am a foolish thing, really I am. I'm not inspired by the fact that I've got to go and have blood taken when I get back from Oxford to check I'm covered against hepatitis now.

I'd make such a crap vampire, I really would...

Wandered off wobbly-legged after injection to see the lady I used to visit for community service (*not* the court-inflicted kind, I might add...) Hadn't seen her in a while thanks to disorganisation/not being in Grantham enough.

Everyone should visit an old person, they are absolutely smashing. Mrs Earll is 89 and absolutely mad. ^___^ Mad in a fun way, not in the demented sort of way (although she's somewhat forgetful ^_^). She was trying to abduct my Stitch-brain this morning cause she thought he was so cute. ^__^

I do feel really sorry for anyone living in a nursing home though, because they're not great places to be. Admittedly the place Mrs Earll is in is very very good - the staff are all friendly and constantly making coffee when visitors come, it's nicely decorated and people have their own rooms - but it's still a nursing home. Mind, Mrs Earll gets on a lot better in there than she did when I first met her and she was housebound living on her own in this really dark and dusty place. Anyway, vague moral of the story, be nice to old people because they're lovely. ^_^

Oh yes, heehee...I found scanlations of Crossfire (Hellsing manga's Iscariot sidestory) today! ^_^ Rampaging berserker nuns and killer female Catholic priests. Kouta Hirano is on something alright...

I spent far too much time reading Hellsing manga yesterday...when I should have been writing my essay. But Coptic books don't have pictures in. -_- Can anyone really blame me? ^_^;;; *knows the answer already* *weeps*

(Katy, the "Match of the Day" of animesoc blogging...)

Not getting lost on the way there was quite a highlight, I must say. Airports I can officially now handle, train stations and tubes scare the living daylights out of me. Too close to moving vehicles and electrified rails. o_0 However, what small amount of common sense I have and much leading around got me to the places I was meant to be in. Useful.

Jane's flat is officially Impressive. I liked it muchly. Next time I may have to glue myself to the floor and refuse to ever leave again. It is far too nice. Has a very very lovely view too.

The Underground. Always frightening for country bumpkin like myself, as I said. Couldn't help but squeak at the poster of Dante in one of the stations. I was faintly ashamed. Verrily was it a far too loud squeak. ^_^;; Still can't help but think of Hellsing when riding the Underground. This makes me happy.

Collindale was lots of fun again. And I actually found things to buy! ^_______^ I got a very very cute Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon sticker book. With stickers. Of chocobos. I got a Final Fantasy VIII postcard book too. I love shopping in Collindale. Except they had no Calpis. >_<

Next to Gosh and the BM. Had an absolutely wonderful time taking everyone round the Egyptian galleries. I promise at least 90% of my waffle was Egyptological fact, really. And Tasha knows what black-topped redware is, so my educational responsibilities for the day are fulfilled. Not to mention images of deities doing indescribable things to themselves... o_0

The rest of the evening was muchly fun. I love the Who Am I? game to pieces, it's possibly the best party game ever, especially the anime version, Empire Records is one of the coolest films ever, and sleeping bags are far too much fun. ^____^

Got home about one, checked email and pulled apart real mail. Alucard wallscroll now adorns my wall. And looks mighty scary-cool! ^___^ Neither of the parents have seen it yet, I quite wonder what they're going to think. ^_^ They don't appreciate Hellsing like I do. Well, no, they just don't like anime. But I do, and my wallscroll is pleasing to mine eye. ^_^

At some point soon I'm going to collapse. I'm very tired...

Listening to/Whining About: *kicks ntl*

Thank you for intermittently providing me with internet and cable television services. >_< *angsts*

Well, I haven't been up to much recently, as just about everyone who reads this will know. Not that I actually know who reads this, except the ones who ever tell me. ^_^ Getting far too happy about going to London tomorrow, but then if you'd been in Grantham for three weeks now you'd feel the same way. ^_^ The house is in additional chaos because of the whole moving business (boxes everywhere >_<) so I'm spending most of my time either hiding in my room or mindlessly surfing the internet when no one else is in. It's a sad little life, it really is. ^_^

I have now watched all the Wolf's Rain I've got. Why did it have to stop just when it was getting interesting? >_< Have decided I am firmly in the Kiba camp as regards favourite characters. Don't quite know why...the other three just have various reasons why they annoy me. (Tsume for manifold reasons. >_<) And Kiba *wishes* he could kick ass, even if he can't really. ^_^

Anyway, I ought to attempt to do some work now. I did some translation finally yesterday! 0_0 First text of next term down, yippee! Shame it was really really short though... -_- Anyway, I will start the Conversation Between a Man and His Ba next, that'll put me in a good mood...suicidal bloke talks to his soul, yippee! >_<

Listening to/Whining About: *cries*

They took Devil May Cry 2 away from me!! *shakes fist at Blockbuster* Why must I be poor?! >_<

I *like* that game. Contrary to popular opinion, I thought it was great. :p Maybe I just have a huge bias towards games with Dante in. All two of them. Dante falling into my "preffered characters" category of demonic red-coated biseinen with a nice line in silver and black guns, transformation attack skills, bitterness at the world and general cool, of course. What can I say, I'm a niche market and yet they still cater to me. *will never EVER write that as a crossover fic - some things are just too wrong* Anyway, once I have money/have decided what games I can cull in part-exchange for it, I will get DMC2. I need it muchly. >_< Oh and yeah, the "other" character, Lucia? She's crap. Her disk was far too easy. I don't know if playing Dante's first made any difference, but the Lucia missions were too short and too simple. And she sucked anyway. Marginally better than Trish in the first game though...thank goodness you didn't have to play as her. -_- Anyway, I want DMC2, I'll get it somewhen...just as soon as I've payed for my plane tickets to America, general life expenses and Hellsing dvd boxset. -_-

As an aside, thank you to Ivan for getting me the Mr Scruff remix of Cat Blues from Cowboy Bebop. It's brill and they use it on Weebl and Bob. ^_^

Off to continue cooking maternal parental unit's day dinner. Provided the house doesn't burn down now, I might *actually* manage to cook a non-crap meal for once.

Listening to/Whining About: *the happy sigh of videogaming*

*glomps Playstation 2* I am muchly pleased. I have gameage, and it is good. Well, alright, I was being a lazy bugger this morning and didn't wake up until 11...when my mother flung open the door of my room to announce that she was going in to town. Priorities being what priorities are at that *early* in my day I remembered one thing only. And off Mum trotted with Blockbuster request into town. *attempts to compose herself* Devil May Cry 2!!! ^__________________^ Hehe, oh how I have looked forward to this game. ^_^ Alright so the reviews have been decidedly mediocre, but it's a game and you shoot stuff and it has Dante in and he is *cool*. *considers that was a somewhat too fangirly sentence* I am only a few missions in so far, but it is muchly enjoyable. I envisage much of this evening being spent in this manner. *happy sigh*

BTW, *everyone* go and read chapter 1 of Hellsing 5 on this site. Whilst I am not fond of reading scanlations (I feel like a cheat...but hey, I bought the books and eventually I'll have nice translated text done) that chapter is just on so much crack it's hilarious. Poor Alucard...he has the most disturbing dreams. ^_______^ I'd elaborate further, but I don't want anyone who hasn't seen it yet to get spoilt. It truly IS that random. Kouta Hirano is the man. ^_^

Alright, enough with the frivolities now. I apologise to everyone else because this bit's not really in keeping with the rest of my usual bloggage, but some things have to be done. I want to say a really big sorry to my boyfriend Daniel. We had a falling out yesterday and I think both of us were to blame. So for my part I'm really sorry for the things I did to upset you because I didn't mean it that way. I know I'm a dumbass sometimes about other people's feelings but I'm working on it, I promise. *apapapa* :)

Alright, I'm going to play demon hunting.

Listening to/Whining About: Postal angst...

I wish my wallscroll would just hurry up and get here! >_< I am having a distinct lack of interesting things happen at the moment...it's a v e r y d u l l v a c. I like being at home to see Mum, Dad and Lucy, but the fact is they're all out all day, so I don't actually even see them most of the time. It's quite depressing really. Ho hum, genki genki genki.... If I get my wallscroll I'll be happy.

About the most interesting thing I've done other than read for my Coptic essay was take a walk into town. Heh, Grantham sucks. (I am a whiner today, aren't I? ^_^) I think I'm getting far too used to pretty and interesting Oxford. Grantham doesn't really compare. I did have a wander though, and it was quite sunny, and there was a big Devil May Cry 2 display in the front of the computer shop and I was quite tempted to run in and steal huge cardboard cut-out Dante for myself. Until I remembered my dad knows the guy who runs the shop...and consequently knows who I am. Doh. -_- I did invest in a copy of Final Fantasy Origins though, which, despite its great age and 8-bitness, is a darn sight more enjoyable than Onimusha 2. Although I think it has lead me to far greater depths of sad fangirlness now. You can choose your own character names. The obvious name being a letter too long for my red mage (they have long red coats and big red hats, what do you *think* I wanted to call it?? ^_^) I now have two characters called Casull and Jackal. Even I am ashamed. -_-

Very little else going on. Have little sister addicted to Special Fred. Much fun and parental confusion abounds walking into the kitchen singing about thinking he's a piece of bread.

Listening to/Whining About: the news, always the news...

Yeah, um, I haven't commented any on that, I realise, but I think I'd rather keep it that way. I'm not a particularly politically minded person and so anything I say would probably be retarded anyway. It's happening, I wish it didn't have to, but I support our troops. That's about as much as I can say.

Ok, away from the political un-rantage. I, strangely enough, have not been up to much. The date has been set for us moving house - 14th of next month. Not hugely looking forward to that, but there we go. I hate moving. I hate it even more if it means I'm not going to have internet access for a week. >_< Well, I'll only be a few days before I get back to Oxford, so I guess I'll be alright.

I have actually started doing some work now, which is officially good news. I've written my presentation on the Tale of Sinuhe and I've done some reading for my essay. It's going very slowly though...even slower when I got bored and started fanarting over my text. o_0 Sinuhe now has a crap sketch of Alucard over it. ^_^

You have some cds heading your way, providing the main post office is still open when I get in to town. Then you can enjoy Haibane Renmei for the goodness that it is. ^______^

Ooh, mini-review for the day. I started Onimusha 2 finally. Very very very gorgeous opening sequence...moving ukiyo-e pictures? o_0 Cool! ^_^ Shame the game itself isn't up to much. Mainly because of the terrible terrible dub. It might get better overall, so perhaps I shouldn't slate it just yet, but I don't have a huge desire to spend hours playing it, which is usually a bad sign with games. Never mind, I got it in a sale anyway. ^_^

Right food, yeah, food would be a good idea.

Listening to/Whining About: apologies...

...for the lack of updateage on the blog recently. It's a bit of a pain trying to get online here (to the same amount I am in Oxford anyway! ^_^;;) And when I do get online I invariably end up talking to the same peeps who read this stuff anyway. ^_^;; Right, well, yeah, on with the stuff 'n' crap.

Hugely important stuffness warning. I'm going to do a nice "things I have been watching/playing" report and um, it might end up having spoilers in. So, for the sake of covering my back and not being beaten up by you lot next time I see you, I will outline things. ^_^ The next paragraph is about Kingdom Hearts, the one after that is the Escaflowne movie, and the one after that is Haibane Renmei (right to the end...so if you haven't watched it, please don't read it, you'll regret it! ^_^;;)

KINGDOM HEARTS. Yeah, right, so, I finished that yesterday. I will shamefully admit to liking that game muchly. Alright so it's chocked-full of Disney characters, but it's Squaresoft and I am a big rabid Squaresoft fangirl. So meh. :p I have to say I was disappointed with the ending though. *glomps Riku* Riku was evidently the best character in the entire game, why did they have to have the poor little mini-bish get all the crap happen to him? *weeps for trainee-bish* Oh well, he got a cool outfit when he went all evil and he *did* get a tragic ending, and there's nothing we love more than tragedy with our bishies, right? ^_^

ESCAFLOWNE MOVIE. Right, next topic of discussion. The Escaflowne movie. Which has been sitting in my moveable pile of possessions (oh what it is to be a migrating student! >_<) for a good few months now. I did attempt to watch it with t'other half in Texas, but we both fell asleep. ^_^ Some might blame it on the jetlag, others might just say it's a pretty poor piece of film... ^_^;; Well *alright* I won't be so cutting of it. It wasn't brilliant...but it had very nice music and lovely scenery. And lots of Folken. Katy likes Folken. (Yeah alright, no prizes for guessing, ok? :p) On the downside, the character designs are almost entirely yucky and the story re-hash is irritating at best (despite the fact I haven't seen all of Esca yet, the fact that it bears *absolutely no resemblance whatsoever* to the series does annoy me). Well, I watched it anyway.

HAIBANE RENMEI. I'm begging anyone who hasn't seen all of Haibane Renmei, please don't read this, ok? For it is a wonderful wonderful series and I want everyone to enjoy it muchly. "Why don't you just not blog about it?" would be the question I imagine most people asking. Well, um, cause it's brill and I love it and I really need to say something about it? ^_^;; Ok, beginning Haibane Renmei spoilers. This is your last warning, alright? >_< Beginning....now! I love Reki so much! *cries* She's so the best character in it and she's so cool at the end and it's so lovely and I cried and *I'm so ashamed to admit that*! Haibane Renmei doing happy is possibly one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, but Haibane Renmei doing angst is also superbly wonderful. I just love everything about that series: the scenario, the characters, the art style (I LOVE the art style beyond belief...it's just so much like what dreams ought to be!) It just comes together exceptionally well as a really well done anime. *can't find good enough words to describe it* Yeah, so, Haibane Renmei...two thumbs up from Katy. ^__^

This paragraph has nothing to do with anything I'm spoilering for, but I just thought I'd put it in as a buffer. *huge spoiler paranoia*

Ok, all clear with the spoilerage. Hmm...what else about today then. Oh yes, I started the secret magical project and some work today. The secret magical project is intensely uninteresting if you're not me, but I like it and I'm doing it. But no one else is going to know about it until I'm 100% sure it's perfect. Not that it will seriously improve the quality of your lives, but hey, humour me. ^_^

Question. Just a random question that is bugging me. Why do all the main characters in Hellsing wear white gloves? o_0 Alucard does (duh...), Integra does, Seras does, Walter does, Anderson does, Jan and Luke Valentine do...why? o_0

Incidentally. this comic makes me laugh. That is all.

Listening to/Whining About: let the blogging commence!

Sorry, I'm feeling in a bit of a bloggy mood. Perhaps brought on by the writing frenzy currently going on around the readership of this page. ^_^ That and Tasha's appeal to "think of all the good for humanity" that my blogging does. Yesss... ^_^ I will remember to copy and paste my entries from now on. ^_^;; Hai mastaa...

/break to make pasta...

Mmm pasta. Anyway, yes, blogging. I have to say, I am utterly ashamed of how fangirly I have turned in the space of a week. I leave Oxford and the lack of anime types turns me in to a rabid fic writer?? And now a COSPLAYER?! o_0 *can't decide if she's secretly very excited about the cosplay idea or just nervous that she'll look like a prat* ^_^;; Heh, it passes the time though. I was pleased/shyed by the comments I got about my fics. I don't like them because they're written by me, and, well, everything I write sounds crap to me (*kicks blog*) but the readers thereof were complimentary so maybe I did something right. ^_^;; I was wondering what they would think about Integra in my fic...I was trying really hard not to make her sound like a wuss, but I do get the feeling she's not as cold-hearted as they make her out. Not as much as she is in the anime, anyway. *wastes far too much time thinking about this sort of thing* ^_^

I have to do some more work on my fic for Jane's site. I will do it, I just couldn't think of anything other than the scene I wrote. Said I would do it though, and I do it I shall. ^_^

Apologies for the whiny fangirl writer tone of this entry. What can I say, I'm new at it. ^_^;;

Jane you evil thing. Setting ficbunnies upon me whilst I'm vulnerable from boredom! *me hangs head in shame* Yes, I was brought in to the little world of animesoc fic writers, innocent though I am in the ways of fanfiction. I don't read it, so I'm not entirely sure what people expect from their fics. Ah well, my first attempt *seemed* to be well received...although it was sent to friendly types. I don't know, I hope you genuinely liked it. ^_^;; I'm open to criticism though! I must make it longer, I know that, although I'm not sure what direction to take it in if I do expand it futher. I have a few other ideas I want to think about, so maybe I will come back to my first attempt later in the week. ^_^

This week is being quite nice and relaxing so there's not actually a lot to report on the me front. Watching Haibane Renmei (or at least I would be if I could find the cd with eps 6-9 on >_

Listening to/Whining About: the lack of mp3s on this computer...

Mmmmm...sleep. I think I'm making up for every single lost hour of sleep last term now. I can't believe I was in bed for ten hours. That might not seem like much to everyone else but I generally hate staying in bed and doing nothing when I know and could be up and busy, so I must be pretty tired. I'm also making up my Playstation and anime hours. ^____^ Playing more Kingdom Hearts and watching Wolf's Rain, Haibane Renmei and Azumanga Daioh.

Alright, I will admit my new secret shame. I, Katy, lover of Hellsing and of the blood and the fighting in her anime, do indeed find Azumanga Daioh hilarious. /avoids the stoning of her animesoc peers. It's just well-observed, cute, slapstick comedy. The scene where Chiyo and Osaka play catch made me laugh so much, just because there's absolutely nothing complicated about the humour. (Osaka is so my favourite character. ^_^) They're both hopeless, it's funny. Anyway, it will never be to everyone's tastes, and I'll certainly never convert anyone else to thinking it's good who doesn't already, but I can't wait to see more. ^_^

Next thing I am very excited about at the moment...my dad got me Lilo and Stitch on dvd!! ^__________^ Yaaaaay!!! He came home from work last night and gave it to me. It was so like when we were little and he used to bring us stuff when he got back (we have an excellent menagerie of plastic dinosaurs from this tradition. ^_^) But I am muchly chuffed and I even have all the freebies he got because he bought it in Woolworths - yaay new Stitch toy! ^_________^

Oh, yes...on a much less happy note, *enormous hug* to Laura for her current angsty problem. :( I really hope you get to go to Japan soon, even if it isn't this year. I'm sure you'll find a way.

Alright, off to enjoy some quality time with my Playstation.

Mmmmm....spending the day doing nothing. How rare! ^_^ I refuse to do anything constructive for the next week, on grounds that I worked hard this term and am officially knackered. So today was spent playing Kingdom Hearts and watching anime. And enjoying the new sofa set they bought whilst I was away. Mmm soft squishy leathery. ^_^ It's one of those "omg I can't get up this is so squishy" sofas. Muchly enjoyable. ^______^

I didn't actually do much else worth blogging about really (well, was that even worth blogging about, eh? ^_^) Bought t'other half a Castlevania game he wanted from eBay. It has vampires in. One of them is called Alucard. I approve. (Although Castlevania Alucard is no where near as good as Hellsing Alucard, even Daniel admits so. ^_^) Will hopefully play it in the summer when I'm over there...if I can be pulled away from the Gamecube and my Animal Crossing obssession. ^____^

Oh, yeah, Wolf's Rain. I watched some more of that. Toboe...yes. Him being beaten up by crows, hugely amusing. His mishap with the girl's falcon, doh. ^_^ I do like his character, though, even if he is a wuss. Very much so.

Already having Oxford withdrawal symptoms. :o Busy yesterday/today blurred into one. Last night was great, with the Edamame trip and all, even if I am exceptionally tired now. ^_^;; Packing etc went amazingly smoothly, if only because I packed instead of sleeping. I did collapse for a little earlier but...meh, I am tired now.

It feels really quite odd to be home. I figured out I've spent about five days here in the past six months....which is a record for me. There is the whole seeing parental units, getting nice food and lots of sleep, which are all excellent reasons why it's good to be home, but I've had such a good term I really didn't want to leave. And yeah, mainly because of animesoc and related stuffs. Until now I never used to enjoy being at Oxford...I just used to feel really miserable about the "I have no social life, nobody here likes me" thing, but it just doesn't bother me anymore because to a large extent it's changed. Mainly the whole "having become more sociable" thing is thanks to animesoc people. ^_^ Hehe, /me must avoid being gushy about how fun animesoc people are. ^_^ But yeah, I don't think I'll be dreading the beginning of term for the first time when Trinity rolls up. ^_^ I don't think that's a bad feeling really.

Ehhh...sorry about the lack of bloggage. Things are, as one might expect, rather hectic at present. But hey, they're enjoyably so. Animesoc, obviously, last night. Was surprisingly amused by "This is Otakudom", possibly due to the number of jokes blatently applicable to people around me. ^_~ (See...you're incriminating yourself if you know what I'm talking about. ^_^) My favourite episode of Hellsing too...demon dog Alucard rules! I was amused to hear Tasha say it was "cute" when Alucard finds out Luke Valentine isn't strong enough to fight him. Hurray! More sympathy for Alucard for he is not evil, he's just bored, very bored!! Bored and cool! ^_^

I am also utterly ashamed of myself today, because I've been listening to Super Drive. I may hate Gravi, but it's such a bouncy great song. ^___^
