A way with words
Here's another blog that I don't make it over to everyday, but I'm constantly pleased with what Josh has to share. Some people just have talent at stringing words together in ways that make me stand up and take notice. It's not so much what they say, but the way it is said.

Despite an overall rather rational, scientific view of the world, I still possess a strong belief in the existence and power of "lucky" underwear.

Bigger budget does not equal a better show
I’m in the process of watching TLC’s 100,000 dollar Trading Spaces episode, and I have to say I’m not impressed. Unless you’ve been living under a rock I assume you know how Trading Spaces works. The twist on this show is that the designers each have 50,000 dollars to spend on the room. Unfortunately they’ve chosen the two most conservative designers so instead of getting really exciting designs with amazing art work and stuff, we’re getting 3,000 dollar chairs, that don’t look any different from what you would find in a nice restaurant. The seats may be made from the finest cloth and the arms and back carved by 100 year old Italian artisans, but they still don’t look like anything but regular chairs. I was just hoping for something a bit more interesting. now I haven’t seen the final rooms, and if I’m amazingly moved by the end I’ll print a retraction tomorrow.

* Update *
I stand by my original opinion - More money does not equal better designs or better rooms. unless you like Italian silk drapery that costs 160 dollars a yard and looks like something out of a Vegas hotel suite.

It's time for a change
So I've been making some changes..... mainly layout stuff, and trying to clean up the code. It's truly a mess, but I'm getting through it. I've got big plans. yeah, I know, something different for me, but maybe this time I’ll actually follow through - of course I also have plans to learn how to knit, crochet, and quilt, take a class on auto repair, and redecorate my living room. We'll see how it goes, as always.
