Spring Break is Supposed to Mean "Break!" Listening to:Liv/May I Be Happy Forever

I was looking forward to enjoying a nice, relaxing, homework-less break....Alas, 'tis not to be :P Not only do I have my History of Modern Japan paper to write (which has to be 10-15 pages), but I have translations to do for independent study Japanese, plus I have to study for the Chinese midterm that's the Tuesday after break! Not to mention I haven't even started reading Chuushingura over for Japanese Civ. I have this sinking feeling I'm going to go slowly crazy between now and finals =.=

Our former neighbors (they only moved to a house like...3 min away by car :P) called the other day. Apparently they're going to California the last week in March, and didn't want to leave their dog with other family (who are having difficulty at the moment), so they asked us if we'd stay at their house that week. I told them I'd double check with Megan, but of course we'll do it :P We need the money, after all. And although we discovered Meg can get disability while she can't work (can't lift anything for 6 weeks, which makes working at a grocery store impossible), it's only 60% of what she'd normally get, so we need the $$ even more ^^;;

So all that I've read about Greyhounds says they make fantastically AWFUL guard dogs, right? Well, the other night I was trying to get to sleep and kept hearing this scratching sound. I thought it was one of the cats stuck in the upstairs closet (it's happened before ^^) so I got up to check. As I was coming back down the stairs, my foot slipped and I fell down the last two steps and landed on my butt :P with a this loud THUD. And I swear, the dogs were up like LIGHTENING barking their heads off! Even after they saw me they kept barking until I had said "It's me, it's me!" enough and stuck my hand out for them to sniff :P It makes me feel a little bit better though. North was a great guard dog, or would have been had he needed to be, but Gryff and Blue are always 100% friendly. Don't get me wrong, that's wonderful, but makes me concerned that if anyone ever DID try to get in the house that they'd just let them :P

Never did really get to talk about Dog Star, which was the ToyoEtsu movie we got from YesAsia ^^ Overall, I liked it quite well. The ending was bittersweet, but really I guess it was the only way the movie could have worked, and to have it end in any other manner would have been...well...silly. I kind of liked the idea that Shiro (the dog) as a human didn't have to go through the awkward process of learning to be human. For the most part, anyway, he already had it figured out, which made things less cumbersome. The one thing I'd say I didn't like about the movie at all was that after Haruka's boyfriend burned the traveling zoo, I was a little irked she sort of let him off so easily. He did turn himself in, but I dunno...I'd have been furious. Ah well~~~~~

All right, Meg needs to write a paper ^^ I gotta go ^_^

Argh, I had a whole long entry U___U Stupid computer! Well, I'll have time to update thoroughly in a few days. Sorry there hasn't been anything. Between Meg's appendicitis and my blog crashing IE for me and other people, I haven't been able to update ^^;;

The Joy of Papers

Listening to:WGN Radio

So I'm working on this paper that I have to present tomorrow. Rather, the class is in the form of a "jury" and three of us have an argument to present and then they get to ask questions of us. My argument is that women in Japan were treated poorly prior to 1945 because of Oppressive Neo-Confucian Patriarchy. I'm pretty sure I have a hold of the argument in my head, I'm just having a difficult time transfering it to a paper. So at this point I'm basically writing anything that pops into my head and then I'll go back and re-arrange it. I guess where I'm having the most difficulty is distinguising Confucianism from Neo-Confucianism, and there are differences. Plus I feel like I'm running too much into another person's argument, which is Outmoded Fuedal Ideology. grar u.u Anyway, I only have until tomorrow to get it done...which shouldn't be a problem but still....=.=

Anyway............wish me luck, I'll need it!

Why Is It Always the Soft Girl?!

>D Okay, that sounds a little psychotic! But in watching eps 4-5 of Itsumo futari de it brought up the idea in my head of a certain recurring drama theme (esp. in love story dramas)....that is, the Main Yasashii Guy should be In Love with Main Genki Girl, but has a thing for Cute-Quiet Girl instead. Why, when he is making all these great memories with Main Genki Girl ("making great memories"...criminy that sounds really shoujo manga influenced >D) who, by the way, is an osananajimi of his, is he thinking about Cute-Quiet Girl who he doesn't even know, he just knows she's somewhat nice and pretty?! You know, if I got worked up more about sterotypes like that, I'd probably be pissed as hell watching this series >D

Luckily, liking stupid but cute things is on my side :P And I can do that "I'd get mad but it's just a drama series" thing >D Still, if Hachi and Mizuho do NOT end up together, and this ends up as another kind of ending like say...2001 no Otoko Un I am going to be highly, highly, PO'd for sure. U_U Just because aspects of the plot can be nitpicked doesn't mean I don't want Main Yasashii Guy and Main Genki Girl to end up together!

The California 47th

Listening to: Mellow Groove/Skoop on Somebody

So we got our "micro-essays" back in Buddhism today U___U I got B/C, which I AM happy with, considering I thought I totally fucked that thing up. The reason it's "B/C" is because he has this policy where if you read the comments he made and make an effort and do better on the next paper, then in the end you'll get the better of the two grades. If not, you get stuck with the lesser of the two, which at this point, I'd be happy with, too :P What can I say, I'm just not cut out to argue from the point of a Buddhist. I'd rather learn about it historically than learn how they think. Maybe that sounds callous or illogical, but oh well.

Melissa! I have to say that although there are a few series I've heard of in that list of yours, there're only two I've read ^^;;(oh wait, except SM :P) The two would be both the Chiya Toriko series :P (Tengoku no Hana and Clover). Actually, we have all of Tengoku no Hana. It was cute >D Nothing like, fantastically out of the ordinary, but was cute and entertaining ^^

Clover, on the other hand, is a personal favorite of my sister's ^o^ We have all that are out right now. It's funny, cause it's honestly pretty soap-opera ish, since it's basically the love story of an OL, but for some reason we just both really like it. I guess we just like Saya and Tsuge-san a lot >)

West Wing was great last night ^o^ I think, anyway. I loved it when Sam sees Donna and introduces her as "One of my best friends" ;_____; That was so sweet! I've been so busy getting to know Will and really liking him, that I'd forgotten how much I'm going to miss Sam! It made me sad to see Sam in the middle of that campaign without any of his friends there though, so it was great when everyone stepped out of the cars and hugged him...except you didn't get to see him hug Josh ;.; which bummed me out because he and Josh are best friends. Blah, I'll stop talking now, or I'll just keep gushing!! ^^;;

New Layout, v. 8.0!

Listening to:WGN Radio

^____________^ Thanks to Jenna, I have a fabulous new layout! ^_^ I'm sooooooooo pleased with the way it looks! It's Hachi (Sakaguchi Kenji), who's real name is Kenta, and Mizuho (Matsu Takako) from the Fuji Tv Winter 2003 drama Itsumo Futari de, which my sister and I have been watching, and really like ^o^ I gotta say, the drama layouts are always the most fun, I think ^^;;

Speaking of things we watch...or maybe not ^^;; Meg and I stumbled across this Toyokawa Etsushi movie that was released last year called Dog Star, that we're dying to see. Basically, it's about this see eye dog that loves his master....and when he gets a wish granted to him, it's to become human...and the wackiness ensues from there :P And of course, who does ToyoEtsu play but the guide dog Shiro ^^;; I mean, come on, that sounds exactly like the kind of movie Meg and I would want to see. So what did I do? I ordered the VCD from YesAsia >D So maybe by spring break we'll be able to watch it >P Most of the things I've seen ToyoEtsu in so far haven't been bad, so I only hope that this movie's the same way. I mean, there's a different between a cute plot handled well, and ....not well :P

Nothing like being in Queue

Listening to: The clack of the other ppl typing the computer lab

So after I'd forgotten for some time the an OAV for the manga I'll was released, I finally decided to look for it again to download. Before I looked for it not long after it came out, and couldn't even find it in Japanese. Now I think I'm in queue for what I believe is the first ep. Only 99 people in front of me! Yay! Which means I will, invariably, never get it downloaded. 99 people in front of you means 99 changes you will somehow get cut-off, pushed back, or otherwise cancelled >D

Speaking of "queue"....doesn't anyone know how to pronounce this word?! I can't tell you the number of times I see people write "Q". It's NOT "Q" people! It's pronounced like "key"! K-E-Y! It's the same as saying "there's a line" ===>"there's a queue"! Am I crazy, or am I the only one that realizes this? I'm probably the only that cares enough to put it in her blog >D

So I finished watching Sunday's Wonderful World of Disney version of The Music Man. I gotta say....I don't know if this is THIS version's fault, or just the fault of the show in general....but while I liked it, I certainly didn't love it ^^ I found I only liked maybe...3 songs (fault of the show itself), and while I really liked Marion (sp?) I thought she could have been...tougher O.O They should have drawn out that relationship much longer....but like I said, I don't know if it's the fault of the show or this version. I love Matthew Broderick and I love the actress that played Marion, I just thought the story in general fell a little....flat O.O

But, what it did do was put me in the mood to sing :P and sort of make me realize how much I miss singing on a regular basis. I mean, this is in no way bragging, but I like to think I have pretty good singing voice (hey, I wasn't in Madrigals for two years if I had a crappy voice :P), and I miss being able to sing often. Kind of like everyone once in a while I really get to missing soccer, and wish I could at least play on an adult rec league (seriously, there's nothing better than kicking the ass out of a guy that thinks you're a lesser player cause you're a girl ?D sweet. sweet revenge!).

Grar, I gotta go to class, so this is cut off! *runs off*

Happy Accidents

Listening to:Tomadoinagara/Arashi

Nothing much happened yesterday or today :P We got together with Tacchan and planned on renting My Big Fat Greek Wedding, since Meg and I haven't seen it....but not surprisingly even in the crappy weather we're having Blockbuster was all out. So we opted for a movie from a couple years back called Happy Accidents, with Marissa Tomei and Vincent D'Onofrio (sp??). I dont think Talia enjoyed it quite as much as I did. It wasn't heart-warming like a lot of romantic-comedy like movies are that I like, but I love Vincent D'Onofrio (maybe I watch too much Law & Order :P) and I thought that a movie from the perspective of the person being told this unbelievable story was at least refreshing ^^ Usually when a character has this big secret they have to tell the other person, you see the movie from their perspective, while with this it was the opposite ^^;; You're forced to (for the majority of the movie) wonder whether Sam really is telling the truth.

Well, I really have nothing much more to add :P

Otanjoubi Omedetou!!

Listening to:Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana/SMAP

Otanjoubi Omedetou to Katherine who's birthday is tomorrow, and Masanari who's birthday was yesterday ^o^! Sorry we can't make it to your party Katherine ;.; But we got whacked with one hell of a snowstorm and driving in town is dangerous enough, without even thinking about the interstate, which I have no experience driving on in snow ^^;; So your gift'll have to be belated!!

And it was fun to talk to ya Masanari >D I hope I didn't babble TOO much, as is my habit on the phone :P And I hope you had a really great birthday. You should enjoy it, cause you're ojisan now, so from now on you'll just get OLDER and OLDER :P

Btw, download this SMAP song ^^ It's fantastic. Very un-SMAP-ish ^^ Has a celtic sound to it. I really like it ^o^/

So I bought and read the book Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli (who also wrote, among other things, Maniac Magee), which I really enjoyed....until the end ^^;; Not a bad ending, or poorly written, I just...I don't like bittersweet endings ^^;; But it was a great book. Like I've said before, many authors of books for younger people have such an honesty about their way of writing that can't always be found in books for older people, that I don't know why more adults don't read them. Right now I'm dying to read the third book in the Silverwing series ^^ which I believe is called Firewing (Goldenwing being the second). I swear, if you haven't read the first two books, GO BUY THEM. They're fantastic!

O___O I'm watching this movie on ABCFamily....called The One...ok there's stupid romantic movies I like...and some I don't....so far this isn't one of them. I mean, Au Pair and it's sequel were cute, if dumb, but this....o.o ouch....*watches anyway* >D

Inauguration: Over There

Listening to:Aoi/Yuzu

Before I dive into my real topic, I'd like to say that I'm very happy that Feb. 12th has come and gone. Even for those of you that know me, you probably don't know what Feb. 12th meant to me ^^;; To put it one way, 6 months ago on the 12th, we had no greyhounds, and only one dog. It changed that day in August, and it's still hard on me :P I hate to think what I'm going to go through when my immediate family dies. Before, with my grandparents, it was something everyone had expected for so long it wasn't as much a shock (that and save for my grandad thompson, I was much younger), but thinking about North still tears me up, so I try not to :P

ANYWAY, last night was West Wing night! Meg and I thought we wouldn't see it until this weekend, because there was a college game between my university and Bradley University in Peoria, and they ALWAYS show the damn things on TV U_U and then re-run WW on the weekend....Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, they re-ran it late last night, at 1:00 am. Which was good because we didn't have to wait long, bad because I have an 8 a.m. class on Tuesdays and Thursday ^^;; But I stayed up anyway, because it was the second half the inauguration ep >D

Anyway, it was fabulous, especially from a Josh/Donna shipper perspective :P Of course, we've all known about the contents of last night's episode for some time, but we were all waiting anxiously to see it ^^;; And I love the way Josh said to Donna "You look amazing", and the quiet moments where they were just looking at each other. And when he said "You'll have to sit on someone's lap" as they (Danny, Charlie, Will, Toby, Josh, and Donna) head off to the inauguration balls. >D *melts* It's the best J/D scene (IMHO) since season 2's 17 People. It was just an enjoyable scene >)

Meg's been telling me how much everyone likes Will, too (and rightly so! He's great) and I told her I knew exactly why :P It's because Will gets to be the cast of West Wing 3 1/2 years ago when the series began. This is not to say they're not the same people, but Will gets to be the wide-eyed, amazed, awed person the senior staff was in the beginning :P It's a reminder of "Oh yeah, I remember this feeling" kind of thing. At least in my humble opinion ^^;;

Who needs plot twists when you a convoluted story! >D

Listening to:ding-dong/TOKIO

>D I had a day of guilty pleasure in between doing my tutor HW and working on Chinese and my Buddhism paper....and that was finishing up Nagase Tomoya's fall drama series YanPapa. I didn't see that Akemiya had the rest of it until last Thursday, and I've been watching it since >D Now, honestly....this is not a GOOD series by any stretch of the imagination. It's sappy, it's predictable, and at the same time completely convoluted >D And that's why I enjoyed the hell out of it. Honestly, there are just some days where I could give a shit (pardon my language :P) about whether or not something has a good plot, or the virtues of having a good plot when, if I like a group of characters well enough, I can just enjoy something, and live of the brain sugar it gives me. Hell, even Gotou Maki didn't irritate me. Nagase Tomoya's character, like in MukoDono has one very good thing going for him: he's likable. He's a good guy, with a good heart, that just wants to do what's right and stick to his convictions. Now, you and I can admire that, right? (Ok shut up, the fact he is a smidgen kakkoii does not hurt him ^^;;;;) But really, I'm a sucker for the family drama, like buddy stories or decently (or sometimes not >D) told love stories.

The one thing (erm well maybe not one >D) thing this series COULD have lost without remorse was Katou Ai U.U Ugh, she is beyond irritating. Rather, I shouldn't blame her :P But those crap writers >D The only two series I've seen her in thus far are Kizudarake no Love Song and this, and I swear to god, the character is exactly the same: lovesick, whiny, and pushy. A very bad combination in the Eyes of Jamie.

Anyway, we went to see Shanghai Knights on Friday with Tacchan. It was quite entertaining, although I think I still like the first one better. Probably because of the novelty, you know? But whoo, scruffy Owen Wilson=good Owen Wilson. It seemed to me he was somewhat more...erm....vulgar in this one? *lol* and Ling could have been a stronger character. She could move great, but Pei-pei in the first one had attitude that Ling clearly lacked. Still, I love the buddy aspects of the movie, because as I've said before and as I mentioned above, I am one hell of a sucker for the buddy story ^^;;

Oh yeah, before I forget. Uta-Net is a great source for j-song lyrics, but only if you're able to read Japanese, otherwise it won't help you. But it's a great source, especially for those of you who, like me, love karaoke, and at times trip over your kanji ^o^ Well, I'm gonna go work some more on my Chinese, and dread the fact I have to finish a Buddhism paper this evening that I'm primarily writing out my ass, because I really have no idea about how to write it U_U Ah well, I've done that with other papers and ended up with a satisfactory grade, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Itsumo futari de, ep 2

Listening to:Always/Mitsunaga Ryouta

This song's the theme for Itsumo futari de, btw. I figured it wouldn't hurt to go hunting for it on WinMX, since as a drama theme it's pretty likely that someone might have it, and voila, I was right ^o^ It's this guy's debut single, and he has a great voice!

Anyway, I watched the second ep of it this afternoon...and I have to admit, it may not be a fantastically written series, but it's sure enjoyable. It helps that Matsu Takako and Sakaguchi Kenji are...well....freakishly adorable together U_U *glomps them* What's really too bad is that Kawashibara Takashi couldn't finish the series in his roll (he was injured...or something ^^;;) because I think he's really fun to watch him :P He's (the character) something of a cad, but a charming cad >D I think it's ep 3 that he's replaced, so I'll have to see how his substitute is!

But I've decided that this series has to end well. Why? Why, by the Virtue of Opening Theme, of course ^^;; The way I figure it, the opening sequence for this series is entirely just Mizuho and Hachi. No one else! Doing all sorts of cute and adorable things together: chasing each other, cooking, talking, and in general being just what I would call shoujo-y cute. Which for me is good, considering the number of shoujo manga that fill my room :P Christ, what can I say, I'm not picky, and they're cute together, and enjoyable to watch :P

Mokuyoubi wa atashi no kinyoubi ^o^

Listening to:Gaining Through Losing/Hirai Ken

I'm writing this as I stand at one of the computer's on campus so bear with me, I can't type as well on these damned straigh keyboards (yay to ergonomic ones!)...well this one is in the Bone Student Center, or theUnion as some universities called them. Actually, speaking of which, when I attended Metcalf (the k-8 school that belongs to my uni) we used to call this place "The Union". but once we all got to U-high (the lab high school for my uni) everyone there called it "Bone", and many of us Metcalfers stcuk firmly to "The Union" for a long time :P until we startened up and realized that the university students call it Bone, too...anyway, pointless story there >P

West Wing was great last night, except for Donna rubbing it in about dating Jack. That was kinda...not fun :P For some reason it's funny when Josh does it (although not all THAT funny), but not as much when Donna does.I guess I just hold her to a higher maturity standard than Josh :P However, I think it was clearthat the point was to annoy Josh and shove him further into his little corner, and it was obviously working ^^ And it was also obvious that it was build-up for the coming episodes ^^;; But boy could you feel the ice forming when Donna called Josh, "Sir" O.O!!

Last night on John William's show on WGN I heard him interview the author of Maniac Magee. ^o^ Now, if you don't know what book that is....then shame on you!! It's a book I read when I was much younger and have loved ever since. I'm a firm believer that sometimes the best books to read are those for younger people, because they seem to be filled with a kind of honesty not always found in books for adults, and Maniac Magee is one that has always stayed with me, and probably always will. So if you've never read it, GO BUY IT NOW!

Well I have more to write but I need to get to class ^o^ Wish me luck on my Chinese quiz!!

Listening to: Ashokan Farewell

Really, what else is there to write about today but what happend over Houston this morning? I'm too young to remember first-hand the Challenger tradgedy (having only turned 5 roughly 2 months prior), but in the years since I think I've come to understand in some way what it meant to the people who saw it happen.

I was at work, processing the floral load, and as is usual any day I'm working, I turned on WGN to listen to Lou Madfredini and wait for Steve Bertrand's show to come on, when I realized the show wasn't on. At first I thought they were covering a lift-off, as sometimes happens on GN, and then realized it wasn't (I didn't even know there was a shuttle in space actually). So then my second thought was they were covering a landing, which is even more rare, and quickly realized they weren't talking about that either. It was only a few moments later when the gentleman on the radio mentioned that Columbia's landing time was supposed to have been at 8:16 central time, and I had just turned on the radio at approx. 9:00, and they hadn't heard from it for nearly 45 min.

I literally stood there gaping at the radio, completely shocked (and I imagine this was a minimum of what people felt that morning on Sept. 11th. Being in Japan at the time, I'll never know exactly). I guess you could say that after Challenger, no matter how dangerous the entire space program is, people have managed to forget how dangerous, or at least consider lift-offs and landings as routine and perfectly safe.

I'm definetly shocked. It just can't happen, you know? We're too advanced, know our technology too well, for something like this to happen. But I know it probably has nothing to do with that. I can't tell you how many times I've heard on the radio already this morning, that at that point in re-entry, the space shuttle is little more than a glorified falling brick, operated completely by computers, and there was nothing anyone inside that spacecraft or on the ground could have done. I suppose that's what "shines" as it were, as the most terrifying factor. There was nothing to be done by anyone. Not a single person on Earth, not one, could have done anything this morning to stop that from happening. At least not as we know it now. Of course, in the future they work out what happened, and it turns out there was something overlooked....

I feel terrible for the families, who were there waiting. 16 minutes from landing. 16 minutes between a dangerous job completed and being surrounded by the people they loved. I feel terrible for Israel, who had and lost a national hero this morning.

Kosumo na Bokura

Listening to: the tv

The last time I was at Mitsuwa and we went to the used bookstore I picked up the first volume of a Hiwatari Saki called Kosumo na Bokura! She also wrote, incidentally, Boku no chikyuu o mamotte but I swear, by looking at the style you wouldn't have a clue, it's so much different, at least IMO.

Anyway, so I finally sat down and read the whole first volume of Kosumo na Bokura, and I think it's a really enjoyable series. I like Haruko and Kinosaki and Silk (Haruko's cat, whom she can talk to, but only in her dreams. She's a witch, after all, she has to have a familiar ^_-) and the idea of witches in modern day. But, as Haruko tells us, witches don't ride broomsticks or make potions, but they can use magic. Haven't seen any such usage yet, but the story has focused on other things first. (and yes, I am a dork that loves the fact Kinosaki calls her "Haruko", ok! I'm a shoujo manga addict that is ATTUNED to noticing those kinds of things!)

Hmmmmm, ok, so I know that Kanata-kara ended, but I was looking on Hakusensha's Lala page and they have something running called Kanata-kara ~Epilogue~, but I think it doesn't appear until March's issue, which would mean, by the weird release sysmtem magazines seem to have that it's already out =______=, if I'm not mistaken. So I wonder how the "last" issue ends, if this is an epilogue. I just want to know that it ends happily. And by happily, I mean Noriko and Izark being together. This series has been going on since 1992, and I've been following it since 1998, I think I deserve it =P

Poor Gryff got a cut on the bottom of his paw today and was got blood everywhere =.= Not a LOT, just a little, but it was all over...so we had to put a bandage on it and then put a sock over that, so he wouldn't nibble at it. He looks rather funny, actually, and he's been pretty good about not messing with it. Of course, we had his muzzle on him for a while. Mind you, it's a greyhound's kennel muzzle, which looks like this and is in no way tight. It's not fun to have on either, but we needed to use it. Of course it'll be given back before long. They usually send people home with them who adopt greyhounds, to make sure the dog can adjust well to a home and get used to it without tearing things apart from being nervous in completely new surroundings. Blue's was given back not long after we got him as well.

KIMOI

Listening to:To Feel The Fire/Rag Fair

Hmmm, yeah, so I really like a manga of Aihara Miki's that's currently running in Betsucomi called Hot Gimmick, and Meg and I have collected a couple other series of hers (one being Seiten Taisei, a great series), but...yeah....her older "series" (it's only two volumes, both of which have extra one-shot chapter stories) Oya ni wa naisho is....well, best put "kimoi". I dunno what it is, but Aihara Miki definetly has some liking with brother/sister things =.= BUT, at least in Hot Gimmick they're 1.) Not really related and 2.) the brother has always known that (like in Hitotsu yane no shita).

But in Oya ni wa naisho it's just like BOOM, chuugakusei 3nensei younger brother likes Koukou 1 nensei older sister, who at first likes her classmate Minami, but for the sake of (theoretically) storytelling, she eventually figures out she likes her younger brother!

So I'm sitting there, fully expecting to find out at some point that they're not actually related. I'm watiting.....waiting....and it never comes =_________= At least in Angel Sanctuary there's something of a reason for it, or in Marmalade Boy they didn't grow up together and had no idea (and ultimately discover they of course, aren't) but.....ewwwwwwwwwwwww It gives me the bad kind of goosebumps! X__________X

I suppose you could say I'm slightly more attuned to really disliking the whole kyodai thing because as a twin it really pisses the hell out of me to see people write stories like that about twins. Like those weird individuals that write Weasley twin slash fics. It disgusts me that people can't understand that the bond between twins is something not at all like that, that people think two people can't love each other without it being sexual. It completely debases the twin relationship (and, I think, the sibling relationship) to write crap like that. I love my twin sister with every fiber of my being, but I certainly don't want to sleep with her.

Anyway, for those of you that don't know that Katherine has used my pic of Ichigo from Bleach for the layout for her translation page. So go there and check it out ^o^/

Kira! Like I said, don't worry about your manga thing right now =) Meg suggested that perhaps you might be trying too hard. That is, forget about finding translations or understanding everything you're reading and just sit and read it for just fun. You'll glean more info every time you read it, and then reading translation's will just clear things up, instead of having to depend on them completely. It's a great way to enjoy it and still learn without having to depend on something.

But if it's not just a funk, don't worry about it. It doesn't make you less of a fan of things Japanese certainly :P And it's absolutely a chance for you to broaden your horizons =)
