Feedback

Okay, I'm "writing" a story...I'm just putting the very first little part here, you people tell me how bad/good you think it is :P BTW, the main character's name is Nelegainan, and it's pronounced Neh-leh-guy-nan.

* * *

Nelegainan stumbled, tripping over a log or some such in the darkness. He cursed under his breath, fearing anything louder would attract more attention. Not that the tripping didn't already do as much, he thought, sparing the briefest of moments for dark humor.
But the stumble had cost him dearly, sending a wave of pain washing over him, and he gasped at the intensity of it.The wound that ran down his leg was deep, and it was no small amount of blood that poured from it, despite the attempt he'd made to stop it. Mage though he was, his magic was failing him at the moment.
Perilously close behind, he heard the sound of the Queen's Guard, the hooves of their mounts pounding the earth, in search of him. That he had ever paid such a woman homage and tribute nearly made the bile in his stomach rise to his throat, but that was Past, and the important thing to consider at the moment was saving his own skin, not how to stop Queen Edeillyn from carrying out her plot. That was for later.
Another stumble over an unseen obstacle sent him sprawling onto his back, momentarily disorienting him enough that he lost the direction he'd been fleeing in. Shouted orders from the Captain of the Queen's Guard soon helped him re-establish it, but he soon found it little help; he couldn't get to his feet One wounded too seriously and the other quaking under his full weight so badly it practically threatened to fall off.
Nelegainan looked wildly around. His only hope now was a Door, but they were few and far between in the Queen's Forest. Even if there were, he wasn't sure he could summon enough Power to unlock it.
"Ssssssst, Nelegainan ," the voice behind him made him whirl around, and when his eyes fell upon the speaker, he was certain he was done for.
"Avvylys," he said gravely. Friends in childhood, they had grown apart in their years of service to the Queen. A flicker of the old light he remembered in Avvylys's eyes from childhood sparked in his eyes.
"Don't look so sober. I'm here to help you."
"Sweet Dhana, do you ask for execution?" Nelegainan asked incredulously. Avvylys looked at him dryly.
"She'll never know. I've learned how to hide things from her." He paused, shook his head slightly before looking back at Nelegainan with a seriousness that spoke volumes. "I am not what you think I have become."
"I hope not," was all Nelegainan could think to say. Avvylys let the remark go.
"You must promise me one thing in return for my help."
Nelegainan frowned.
~ Not what I think he has become~, he thought sourly. It was exactly something he would expect of the current Avvylys. Of course there would be a price. The generous Avvylys of youth had long ago been replaced by greed. Finally, he nodded.
"Whatever you want." He couldn't argue, after all, he needed to get somewhere safe.
"Promise me you will find a way to depose Edeillyn. You will need to get word to King Sanoer, but where I send you, you will be hard put to get back. It can be done, but it will be draining on your Power. I can't send you elsewhere. It's too dangerous. Too easy for Them to get at you. I will do what I can here, but that is frighteningly little."
Nelegainan went wide-eyed at his words. This wasn't what he had expected at all. Without thinking, he reached out and laid a hand on Avvylys's shoulder. "I'm sorry to have doubted you for so long. May Dahna forgive me." Strangely, the words seemed to pain his friend. Avvylys shook his head.
"I will make a Door to the Realm of Man. You won't be yourself, but your memory will remain intact, and you Power as well, as long as I do this right."
Nelegainan nodded, Avvylys was doing all he could under the circumstances.
"Get back a little", said the other Mage and Nelegainan scrambled-wound and all- to obey, pausing only enough to see the Queen's Guard just appearing through the foliage.
Avvylys closed his eyes, summoning his Power, and suddenly threw his arms wide, a Door appearing just before them. Distressed at it's obviousness, Nelegainan warned, "You will be found out." Avvylys ignored him and unlocked the Door."Avvylys!"
"I can protect myself. Now go!" Without another word he shoved Nelegainan through the Door. He closed it just as the Queen's Guard pounded up, reigning in sharply. The Captain, Myriboc, eyed him.
"It's done then?"
Avvylys only nodded."Lord Nelegainan is safely out of the Queen's way. He shouldn't be a threat to her any longer, nor should he be able to return."
"And he whom Nelegainan replaced?" the captain didn't bother with formalities.
"If the spell worked, he should be back in the Solarium under lock and key. He was living a dreamless sleep, so he shouldn't be hard to keep under control."
Myricboc nodded again, satisfied. "The Queen will be pleased with your work, Mage. We shall return to the castle. The Queen will be expecting you." He motioned to the other guards, and moments later the sound of hoof beats retreated until Avvylys was quite alone.
It was only then the Mage allowed himself to crumple to his knees and sob into his hands. It was a dark day in Phaerie, indeed, when a White Elf was forced to betray his friend.

Well, what do you think? Am I sucky writer? *lol*

Elated

Listening to: nothing ^^;;

Woot! Meg was able to get the newest issue of LaLa in it, which had the new chapter of Gertrude no Recipe in it. I've been worrying over it quite a bit since the last issue, when Gertrude (remember, for those of you out there that don't know, Gertrude is a guy ^^;; Er...demon...guy ^^;;) sort of...dissolved into dust. But thankfully, and though I don't quite understand how, because of something Curtis was able to do, Sahara got him back =) Which makes me elated >D But lord, does it ever show that I reaaaaaaalllllly need volume 3!

Meg was also able to get the final volumes of both Akuma de sourou and W Juliet. Of course, we already knew how W Juliet was ending, but I had no idea #11 was the final one of Akuma de sourou. This is of course, a good and bad thing. Bad because these two series are done, and I love them both, but good because it leaves two spots open to be taken up by other series >D! Ah, the glass is always half full in MY little world *lol*

But then again, on the half-empty side, I have million things to get done in the next 3 1/2 weeks before school is out! I, in fact, should be in bed at this moment, so I don't sleep all day and can work on my paper before work tomorrow U.U Ah well, it'll allllllll be worth it when the semester is over, and I can look forward to a WELL deserved Natsuyasumi~~~~

I Love Having Nothing to Write About, Don't You?

Listening to: Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana/SMAP

*whistles* Really, I don't have anything to write about, but I'm stuck here in Milner's computer lab waiting for my friend Amanda to arrive. I'm supposed to help her look for books, since she goes to Heartland (a community college here in town) and hasn't used Milner since high school (and I suspect not much then either, but then, neither did I). The funny thing is, I'm not sure if she wants me to check books out for her or not. O.o I didn't ask, and it didn't occur to me until I hung up the phone. I don't mind, but I have several out as it is, and I'd rather not check out more, for fear of losing them or fear of Gryff or Blue gnawing on them ^^;;

Ahhh, this just proves me right about the whole things with the Bolt thing. Not that I should care much, but on the board that I left (but occasionally check just to see what's going on) someone (honestly, this person's never been an angel themself!) put up this post about how I was saying poor things about people that had accused my sister of things. Well, 1.) I hadn't, 2.) this person who said I did wasn't even INVOLVED and couldn't possibly know, and 3.) there were 5 replies posted and NONE of the people even knew who I was >D!!!!!......AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA God that amused the bejesus out of me. So much for Shay's theory that there were tons of people with long memories about stupid crap that happened on that board. I swear to god, it made laugh my ass off >D That, and this person also sent me a message telling me they thought the same thing and I basically told them that I had left that board for a reason, and if they were messaging me, then who exactly was it that was childish and immature? After all, *I* hadn't intiated contact with ANYONE that messaged me about the whole thing >D Fweee~~~ it really made me laugh.

Hmmmm I'm reading the warning sticker on the computer screen, which includes Japanese and Chinese...gotta tell ya, recognize about 3 things on the Chinese one >D BUT, I can tell it's being polite, since it says "Nin" instead of "ni" for "you" >D Anyway, it's warning me about not leaning back on my chair or something.

Must go! ~~~~~"Shinigami shite, Rukia wo ou!!"~~~~ (man, I really DO need to get volume 8....if only it were out now >D)

The Broken Coda

Listening to: Eien no Bloods/Kinki Kids

Katherine, I'm really sorry about the not yes-or no response you got from JET. I guess there's not much I can say other than I hope things work out the way you want them to ultimately, since my perspective of JET differs a great deal from yours :P I just hope that whatever happens is what makes you happy, although it really is rotten of them to not give you a definite answer U.U Very uncool! I meant to respond on your LJ, but erm...I'm writing in my blog now so this is what you get ^^;;

Anyway, THANK YOU KIRA! *GLOMP* I just got Bleach 7 yesterday and....O______) Honestly, my feelings can't be better summed up than in making that face!!! ;____; except maybe by that one! Possible spoilers here, so beware, because I don't know how to change the color of my text >)

So I am unclear exactly as to why Renji and Byakuya have to drag Rukia back to the Soul Society, and exactly why this means her imprisonment and possible death...because as you know, I'm not perfect with my Japanese :P and I only just got this yesterday ^^;; But reading it yesterday....it was one of those situations where you just want to clench your fist over your heart in distress and worry, and concern for the characters. So Ichigo finally realizes Rukia is GONE (thanks to Kon...whom I adore...he's hilarious ^^;;), and sets out to, as he puts it "Shinigami shite Rukia wo ou!" (and YES, dammit, my stupid little Bleach fannish heart is beating fast because I read too much shoujo manga and my mind goes, "Woot! No hesitation! >D"). Mind you, the note she left told them not to worry, not to go looking for her, etc. which is completely Unacceptable ^^;;

Of course, then they have the trouble of figuring out HOW to get Ichigo in Shinigami mode, because it was always Rukia's "Soul Extracting Glove" that did it, and Rukia's not there ^^;; Which makes them panic until Urahara shows up (side note: I am a complete idiot. I didn't notice until now that he uses "Atashi" O_O) and solves the problem for them ^^;;

Anyway, so Ichigo sets out to go after Rukia, and finds Renji (who, IMHO, is a complete ass :P), Rukia and Byakuya. Ishida is also there, and he's nearly struck down by Renji when Ichigo makes his entrance (although....after that I don't know where he goes o.o). And frankly, Ichigo holds his own pretty well for a while, until Byakuya finally interferes and breaks Ichigo's sword ( >D Renji calls it "Baka Dekee Zanbakutou" >D) and injures him in what appears to be a fatal manner.

BUT! We know our hero (and manga, for cripe's sake) and of course he has life left in him :P Rukia tries to get to him, but is stopped by Renji, even though she protests. And this is when Byakuya says something that's going to drive me crazy until volume 8,"Naruhodo, kono kodomo wa yatsu ni niteiru...", at which point Rukia goes all wide-eyed, and Ichigo (albeit slowly and painfully) asks who it is he resembles.

Anyway, we now get to the part that Really Really Made Me Sad *lol* Byakuya says something else to Ichigo who is then about to grab the bottom of his (Byakuya's) hakama when he gets kicked in the hand. Of course the first thought is that it was Renji, but no *gasp* it's Rukia, who then proceeds to call him kozou and kisama again (which she hasn't much lately ;___;) and go off back to the Soul Society with her brother.

But the face...;___; that face that Ichigo makes, but you can tell Rukia's not happy about it, either (I know those are tears in her eyes) and when she's gone the lines just read (from Ichigo's perspective):

"Koega denee...ugokenee...doushiteda...ore wa mata mamorareta"

;____; Well, at least he realizes she was protecting him ^^;;

Anyway, long story short, Rukia is now being held in what I assume is a Soul Society prison, and Ichigo is getting help from Urahara & Co. with becoming strong enough in the next ten days so that he can go rescue her (woot! Bleach fangirl (altho I use the term loosely) happiness :P).

Oh yeah, no one at school seems to remember her either, except apparently Those Invovled. That is, we discover Orihime remembers (because she asks Ichigo what happened to her, and why everyone else seems to forget who she is), which just makes everything seem much more sad to me *lol* Especially when Ichigo asks Urahara if ten days is enough for him to become stronger, and Urahara replies "Mochiron. Kimi ga kokoro kara Kuchiki-san wo sukuitai to nagau nara", and you see all these pictures of Rukia with her back to him.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THIS SERIES ^_______^ I can't wait for volume 8, it'll be such a nice treat for when school gets out!!!!

Eigo ni yakushita Sen to Chihiro

Listening to: TV

So we got back not to long ago from taking Mom to see the dub of Sen to Chihiro. I must say, I was soooooo shocked and how incredibly, incredibly well done it is! I was just sitting there like O________O. I'm so pleasantly surprised!!! Katherine, I swear to god I don't know what that girl who had the blog you found had with the dub. With the exception of a couple of insignificant things (i.e. Chihiro saying "germs" instead of "blood", or them adding a couple lines at the end), it was a fantastic translation, and very well done.

I thought the voices were wonderful, as well, although no one can ever replace Japanese Haku *lol* but James Marsden (who's voice I've always like actually) was a great choice for English Haku ^.^ and I LOVED that Chihiro's English voice is the same as Lilo's ^o^ It was perfect, although there were a couple times where she was shouting a little louder than Chihiro in Japanese does *lol* But she sounded perfectly like a 10 year old girl to me, and I have none of the usual complaints in respect to people sounding awkward or lifeless or anything. It was, IMHO, great.

Random and then Some

Listening to: The hum of the computer

Kira! *glomp* You cannot believe how much better getting home yesterday and finding the message about Bleach 7 was >D I'd been having a crappy day and BOOM, all better *lol* I was jumping up and down in the kitchen....honestly, for a 22 year old girl, it was a rather sad display >D! I didn't even know it was out yet! Hot damn! Much appreciated ^o^

So Meg and I are going to take our mom to see Sen to Chihiro tonight (yes I am STUBBORNLY sticking to the Japanese name. You ppl know me, for crying out loud :P), even though it's dubbed. I mean, it'll be interesting to see how they translated and shifted some things around in order to make it work. I'm familiar enough with translating that it ought to prove interesting as opposed to irksome, although I know the saying goes that two translators never agree *lol* What I heard of the voices from the trailer wasn't too bad either, although honestly, Haku's real voice being covered up is a damn shame. It's such a great sounding voice in Japanese. Ah well, hardly avoidable with a dub *lol*

The one MAJOR problem is that I am freakishly familiar with the soundtrack. Especially with the first 6 or 7 tracks, they come one after another in the film *lol* So the last time I was watching it I kept humming along to it :P Actually, there's a part in track 4 (like I've taken the time to learn the titles to each track....although I'm sure there's SOME fan with Too Much Time on Their Hands, that has) that would be PERFECT Harry Potter music!

I was finally able to read the sequel to the Artemis Fowl book (entitled Aretemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident). If you're unfamiliar with these two books, I highly recommend them. They're "young adult" books, but that shouldn't make you shy away. Often times, they're the most fun to read, and Artemis Fowl is a fantastic character ^_^

Well, that's about it ^^;;
