There are two versions of Dir en grey's last single, embryo. The original lyrics, which revolved around themes of rape and incest, were deemed too controversial for mass airplay so Kyo wrote an alternate version for the single. The original version remains on their album, Kisou.

Spotlight on recently released songs. This is a rotating mp3 list and will be changed regularly to make room for newer songs, so get 'em while you can!

SWANKY GOD POP INFORMATION
If you haven't heard, Takui's new album is called Swanky God Pop (what a name) and comes out 23 October.The tracklist is:
1. Baby, Go For It
2. (It's gonna be) OK
3. Drive My Limo
4. Shining Days
5. Working Class Hi-School
6. Oh My Darling
7. Never Fades Away
If you go to the official website, there are song samples of all the songs on it. The impression I got was pretty much the same as from Chunky God Pop: a fun-loving, not too weighty album. I was actually expecting something heavier and intense since CGP was so fun and this IS its sister album, but I guess Takui's not in the mood for it. Anyway, go listen. =P

It might be so long ago that you've already forgotten, but we held a poll some time back inviting you to vote for your top favorite 100 Jrock songs. Well, the results have been in a for a while but due to complications, we kept err...delaying the posting. Gomen na ^^;;
Anyway, the results are HERE. Remember that these are the opinions of about 300 people who voted and if your favorite song isn't on there, it's not our fault. ^_^

PATA (X-JAPAN/DOPE HEADZ) LIVE INFORMATION
Thanks to Plague for the following information!
"Pata's going to have a Live with The Doors(Nov. 12) and The Who(Nov. 15) It mentions John Entwistle for the 11/15 show(Yokohama 7th Ave), so it looks like it's going to be a tribute show that will last all night, starting at 11pm.

NEW PLASTIC TREE ALBUM
Sure all of you PuraTuri fans have already heard, but this one is scheduled for release on Sept 21 and is supposed to be their "first original album in 2 years." Or something like that. We'll see. I don't think they've found a new drummer yet, though.
Oh yeah...I'm alive. Or something *waves weakly* Not fully back yet...school and stuff is kicking my butt. When I'm really back for good I'll post a message or something. ^^;;

MISC STUFF
Okay first off, apologies for the lack of updates. *stares at birthday list* Poor August people didn't get acknowledged at all... *sniff* a bunch of things have happened so I'm just going to post them all in one go. ^^
Klaha, former vocalist of Malice Mizer and Pride of Mind, supposedly has a solo album coming up around Christmas time and a live performance in the next month or two.
Tetsu69's latest single apparently sold out (100,000 limited edition copies) and hit #1 on the charts the day it came out. Go Tetsu! XD
In other Laruku news, Ken and Sakura's fledgling band, SOAP, had another live performance August 28. Still looking for live reports and/or any other news about those two. >.>
Gackt and Hyde are still in Taiwan filming moon and are apparently getting very chummy. Point in fact, it sounds more and more like Gackt's getting VERY friendly with Hyde... who, judging by his appearance and behavior during Gackt's radio show, is starting to revert back to his "girly" state. Whether it's a result of Gackt's continued "affection" is up to speculation. *L* They have been seen drinking together at a bar after a day of shooting.
Previously, I mentioned that Glay will be taking part of a concert in Beijing, China to celebrate years of friendship between Japanese and Chinese. Latest news is that other big names will be present as well, including Gackt. More news to follow.
That's it for now, I'm sure I'll remember more stuff as it comes in. If you have any specific questions or want info on something, post at the BBS. Thanks!

YOSHIKI & GLOBE NEWS
I think most of you already know but for those who didn't, former X Japan drummer and solo artist, Yoshiki, has joined up with Globe, one of Japan's best selling pop groups. There's an article here in English if you want more info.
Watch a clip of Yoshiki's "debut" here. Set to Globe's version of "Say Anything." I've been traumatized for life. X_x;;
