Spirited Spirit Week!!!!!!!
"Only the shallow know themselves."--Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900)So this is supposed to be spirit week. I've seen no spirit a Juan Diego. Not in the facility or the students. Only mention of anything spirited was Mr. Longs rant on the issue of personal rights and a brief mention today of the spirit dance on saturday. This sad, but what is sadder is that Mr. colosimo thinks that there is nothing wrong with this. Your traditions mean jack squat without spirit behind it. It's the difference between a corpse and a living person. Spirit is the breath of life that changes clay to flesh and dirt to trees.
Now i went to the peace rally at the flag pole during the second part of first lunch(i had to eat my apple). There twenty or so individuals there, afew were teachers(the entire science department bar one), but no sophmores or freshmen, though first lunch is a upperclass lunch so that is expected. I really like that be analogy. It's good. It's based upon ms. Prissy's experience with a bee. "trouble is like a bee, if you swat at it, it only gets madder and comes back more often." now i'm not saying that insect repellant shouldn't be used, but you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Yeah this isn't making sense, but it will. If we don't swat at them with tariffs and negative effects retribution, but instead help them, sending money and aid to them. Not to their army, but to there people. We also shouldn't send it through western aid organizations, like say the christian aid fund, instead use local organizations that aren't trying to convert the native populace and that aren't viewed with suspicion and hate because of their origins in the west. That would stop or slow the cycle of hate to a crawl.
Here's a rant. a quite fine rant too.
People say the economy is broken. I say that the economy is perfectly fine. I say that if the american public got up and pulled their heads out of dan rather's ass, they'd see things aren't so bad. Also if we go about our daily life and let the military do it's job and take care of that bastard Osama, we as a people would be fine. And isn't it the military's job to protect us and to kick ass for the greater glory of democracy?
Well i understand that the rant doesn't go with the rest of my entry, but that's alright, because the fervor of youth clouds my mind from logical thought, and that's only right because youth is the stage of life when you can try out your own opinions and find your beliefs.
Now to make this just alittle longer, it wasn't cat's birthday over the weekend. Her birthday isn't till friday. My statement about the BB gun still stands, however.
