Ok, so I FINALLY blogged about my trip to Japan. I posted it on my lj, so click the link to read my ramblings about how much I LOVED JAPAN! *HAPPY SUNSHINE RAINBOW GLITTER HEARTS OMG!!!11!* Also, I hope to change my blog layout to something more spring-centric this weekend. On a more serious note, thank you S for the very thought provoking quote of the day: "An Evil exists that threatens every man, woman and child of this great nation. We must take steps to ensure our domestic security and protect our homeland." ~ Adolf Hitler, while creating the Gestapo Just think about that for a minute, people.
This is my "HI EVERYONE! I'M BACK!" post letting you know that I am alive and well and had an amazing time in Japan. I promise I'll post more later, but right now I'm so jet lagged that I... have no idea where I was going with this. In seriousness, I do know that you all want DETAILS of the trip, so look for them soon! Oh, and I hate men.
He had it comin’ ~"Cell Block Tango", Chicago OST P.S. Any of my guy friends who read this, it's probably not you I'm hacked at, so never fear. I would at least give you wanring if I wanted to casturate you. *evil grin*
Headlights. There are some outside my window, startlingly bright against the twilight sky, and I'm listening to "Duvet"...
I am falling, I am fading, I am drowning Why do I feel so apprehensive? I should be excited. I am going to Japan tomorrow. It's spring break. I survived my paper draft night from hell. ...So where's my genkiness gone? I don't understand. Anyway, have a wonderful break for everyone is on it! Relax, kick off your shoes, watch trashy brain-sucking television. We've earned it. I love you all! I'll update when I return with trip details. ^_^
"I have... thought a great deal about the house. Each part of the house occurs many times; any particular place is another place... The house is as big as the world—or rather, it is the world." ~Jorge Luis Borges, “The House of Asterion” "I am convinced Minos’ maze really serves as a trope for repression." ~Mark Z. Danielewski, House of Leaves
Ok, so we've heard about freedom fries, everyone. Now it's time to introduce... FREEDOM TOAST! *dies laughing* Thank you Ri-chan for sharing that disturbing bit of political propoganda. That's it. Ly, prep the Amazonian warrior gear. Who wants to join us?!
It's going to be another all-nighter. ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH. *runs around screeching and pulling out hair* I AM SO SICK OF DAMNED PAPERS!! *stabs* I can't even get excited about my fucking Japan trip b/c I have so much other stuff to do in the next 12 hours regarding frantic paper bull shitting. I know, so it's my own fault. But that doesn't keep me from hating it. S, that book series sounds interesting. I may have to check it out. I have been wanting a few non-class related books for my long ass plane ride. Maybe I'll look at it at the book store. *sighs* Yeah, so I'll probably post again later at some point bitching more about the paper from hell.
Ok, now I have seen it all. I am a huge Dan fan, we all know this (ok, so maybe 'fan' isn't the right word). But even I would not buy Dan... PANTIES!! *ROTFLMAO* What's REALLY scary is that there is a listing for thongs too. However, there aren't any actually there. It's just a blank page. And you all thought that I am sick?! ...I really have to wonder what his reaction would be to the fact that there are a bunch of crazy fangurls out there wearing his face on their asses.
No, this is not about my papers. That groaning will take place later tonight. I have discovered you do not know true pain until you join an HP actors message board that is almost exclusively populated by girls (or gurls, as they call themselves). THAT is true torture. Forget the jet lag disorientation, Dubbya! Torture they terrorists by forcing them to join HP message boards! Here are a few samples:
re: MORE MEMBERS FOR H.P.N

re: maybe cbbc can help oliver *dies* I did NOT make these up. And these aren't even CLOSE to the worst I have seen, they're just typical of the really bad posts... which make up about 99.9% of all the posts. On that note, I forgot to link an article to my blog that Ly sent to me about this subject. It's here. BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.
Back in town, and I had a good weekend! I got some rest, which was nice. Needed it! My fam celebrated my "un-birthday," as we called it. My diamond earrings were finally paid off! *.* They are SOOOOOO PURTY! And I got Tori Amos's new CD, Scarlet's Walk. I very very much recommend it. It is SO GOOD! I am totally obsessed w/ the song 'Wednesday.' Listen to it- buy the cd, download it, whatever. And got my money for my trip to Japan! I can't believe I am leaving on Thursday! O.O On mildly sad thing (not in comparison to war or anything XD), but Sean Biggerstaff is not going to be in the 3rd HP movie. ;_; Anyway, that's all of my news. Back to paper writing. -_- *dies*

Did you see the frightened ones
You know in Fight Club when Edward Norton says, "When you're an insomniac, you're never really asleep and you're never really awake," and he just lays there on the couch with his eyes glazed over and his mouth hanging open? Yeah, that's me. Zombie girl. Greenish skin, skanky hair, and gray circles under my eyes from not sleeping in 3 days. And guess what! *insane grin* MY DRAFT ISN'T DONE! TRALALALALALALALALA. And it's due in like an hour. ^_________________________^ *twitch* I didn't realize how long it would take me to go through the entire Irish studies section of the library. Because that's what my bedroom is at the moment. I swear to god, if anyone else on campus is writing a paper on this subject, they'd have to come check the books out from my bedroom. I hate my life. When do I graduate again? Whenever it is, it's not soon enough, that's for damned sure.
*snicker* Thanks S. Interesting editorial, by the way. What pisses me off about America's current anti-French attitude is that they are protesting France because it's AGAINST A WAR THAT SHOULDN'T BE FOUGHT ANYWAY!! Ok, fine. I will admit that is a personal opinion only. But geez, people! If you're going to hate the French, at least choose a good reason for it, like the fact that their current president is an ANTI-SEMITE. Jewish children are being forced into separate lunch lines right now. But who cares?! Let's drain our last 25 bottles of 1941 burgandy from Burgandy into the sewer because *gasp* those big bad Frenchmen have the nerve to want to keep the U.S. from causing the world's impending doom! That makes SO MUCH SENSE, OMG!11!!!1 *growls* Personally, I am a bit more concerned about the lessons of the Holocaust (do the words FASCISM and GENOCIDE ring a bell?!) being completely IGNORED by everyone in the whole fucking world at present, rather than changing french fries to "freedom" fries. P.S. Woohoo! Dissidents of the world (or at least of Eudiometers Anonymous) unite!
Ok, this is really awful, I know, but I couldn't help but snicker about it. "You know why the French don't want to bomb Saddam Hussein? Because he hates Americans, he loves mistresses and wears a beret. He is French, people!" Courtesy of the one and only (thank god) Conan O'Brien P.S. I can't help but wonder if some FBI or CIA agent is keeping tabs on my blog b/c buzz words keep appearing on it, like 'bomb', 'hates Americans', 'Sadam Hussein', and 'Bush is a fuckwit who hasn't passed the Neanderthalian evolutionary stage yet'. *waves to all the happy government agents* Muwa.
It's not my fault that I happened to check my e-mail and that someone sent me the MOST ADORABLE PIC EVER!!!! *hearts* Seriously, this is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. *__* Can I quit my day job and be Emma please? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaan.......... *spaces out into Happy Land, then remembers paper that she is supposedly not procrastinating on* *coughs* Right. Back to work. ^^;
Ok, so I am majorly fucked. Have MASSIVE paper draft due on Friday morning, and I'm just now getting to it (and no one say anything to me about the Procrastination gods *glare*). See the problem is, like I stated in my lj, this topic has not been very thoroughly researched. This would be a great thing if I were a PhD student writing a 200 page dissertation. But I'm not. I am a senior trying to write a 25 page honors paper in 2 nights. The little that has been written is all contradictory, with Historian A saying "Look at these documents! They prove blah blah blah," then Historian B saying "*snort* That guy is a fuckwit, don't listen to him. They REALLY mean yadda yadda yadda." *pulls hair out and bangs head repeatedly on desk* WHY ME?! ...Don't answer that. >.<
Neesan posted a survey of the 7 sins and virtues, so I took it. Here are my answers. Interesting survey.
Joyeux Mardi Gras, chacun! ^_^
Just letting you know that I alpha'ed all of my lists *points to the side*, and renamed a few of my headings.
Ok, so I went to bed relatively early last night (11:45ish) because I was really tired and I wanted sleep. Right? And of course, I couldn't sleep. Why? Because I was hit with the worst wave of Ireland homesickness EVER. I was just laying there, thinking about our Dublin flat, and the weekend trips my friends and I would take away to the Southwest. I longed for the green, and the ocean, and the hills, and the dramatic coast of cliffs and beaches and rare birds. The sleeping giant of the Basket Islands. The feeling that if the world were flat, you were surely standing on its edge. I cried myself to sleep just thinking about it. Isn't that silly? And yet, I couldn't help it. Something about Ireland gets into your blood and never leaves you.
I thought it was funny when you missed the train ~Dido, "Isobel"
I archived! Yay me! And if you didn't see my post about how awesome my little sis is, it's here. I am feeling better today than I have in a long time. I feel focused, less stressed (still stressed, but not to the point of hyperventilating), and more productive. I've gotten some work done toward re-doing my paper draft. I have been scanning documents I have to return to the library this week. I got to talk to my mom for a long time tonight on the phone. Moms are seriously like the greatest people on earth. They always know what to say to make you feel better, and to help you put things in perspective. Yay moms! I found out that my parents are planning a family vacation to Seattle and Vancouver for this summer. I am excited- I have never been to Canada! (Europe three times, yes. Canada, no. XD) And we haven't been on a family vacation in a few years. I think it'll be really cool- both of my siblings have grown considerably more tolerable since the last vacation we all took together. Can you believe I leave for Japan in 10 days?! I'll write what I wrote on my lj- I will take orders if anyone has anything they MUST HAVE, and canNOT find online or something. I only have limited suitcase space, and I have big plans to hit the used manga shops for myself. ^_~ Anyway, no promises, but I can try. I probably won't be online much for the next few weeks, because I have 2 HUGE drafts to do before spring break, and then I'll be gone *for* spring break. I love you all! Take care!

Family : Muggle-born, both parents Muggles
Wand : willow, contains single hair from the tail of a unicorn; gentle and whispy; perfect for performing enchantments
Pet : snowy owl; gift from a secret admirer at Hogwarts; she is affectionate and reliable, but has a bad habit of eating the snacks my mother sends me in the post. I decided to name her Blodeuwedd, after the Welsh Celtic goddess of flowers, lunar mysteries, and wisdom; her symbols are the owl and the moon.
