Jen's Pita - The Meditative Rose, Salvador Dali
Just to let everyone know so they won't be too concerned, I'll be taking a break from blogging for a little while. It's a long story, but I just want everyone to know that I'm fine, and that I miss you all, and love you.
Ok, you're probably wondering what in the hell would possess someone to be up at 7:00 am to blog. I wanted to tell everyone about my strange but cool experience last night. My roommate Josh and I went to hear Kevin Smith (you know 'Silent Bob', director of Clerks, Mallrats, etc.)give a "lecture" because he came to IU to hold a forum. He is only going to 4 colleges this year to do this, so it was really cool that he even came to our school. (BTW, SubSub, I want to thank you for getting our tickets- we were very sorry you couldn't be there!) Anyway, it wasn't a lecture so much as a audience-interactive Q & A session. There were 2 mics in the middle of the auditorium and people were allowed to go up to them and just ask him questions. The really awesome thing about it was that he's making a DVD of his college trips, and Josh and I were SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO THE MIC! We had a camera in our faces about 2/3 of the time! So Josh and I will presumably be on Kevin Smith's DVD. Wheeeee! Isn't that fun?!! Anyway, there was a ton of interesting (and not so interesting) questions. He was really a total asshole, but incredibly funny. For example, someone asked him the best way to get funding for an indie film, and his answer was 'head'. *snicker* The really interesting thing was after that some guy came up to the mic and asked him if he wanted him to give Kevin head. Let me tell ya, the audience response to that one was interesting. He also told some great anecdotes about his career. He told us that in the town he lives in in Jersey (did anyone doubt he lives there? ^_~) there was a story in the paper when Dogma was released that there was going to be a 1500-person protest of the film outside a theatre. And he thought it was cool, so he called Brian Johnson and asked him if he wanted to go protest with him. "You know, how often is it that you get to protest your own movie?" So they made signs ('To Hell with Dogma' and 'Dogma is Dog Shit' *snicker*) and went, but instead of 1500 people, there were about 15. LOL- he was hilarious telling the story. Oh and the coolest part was that in the middle of it, his cell phone rang! It turned out to be Jason Mewes and we actually got to talk to him b/c Kevin put his phone up to the mic. Anyway, that's enough about it. Josh, I had a great time! Brandy, we owe the tickets to you! I guess we'll have to wait and see about the DVD. If I'm on it, I'll definitely let everyone know. Have a great weekend everyone!
Hey everyone- no, midterms did not kill me. I'm still alive. Not much has happened- my friend Amanda and I are dealing with our impatience for the HP movie by working on our costumes. I applied for an internship that I have an interview for. I've read S's rant about 'psychics' (very entertaining, I might add). I'm a little in shock b/c I admittedly watch Dawson's Creek (no, the teeny-bopper waves radiating from the television have not yet thwarted my brain) and I was shocked by the ending of last night's episode. I won't say anything except that it was very abrupt. Oh yeah, my friend Juli and I were almost pulverized by a falling tree in the middle of a righteous storm last night. But we both made it home safe (read: alive), so that's a good thing. Anyway, love you all, and hopefully I catch some people online soon.
Hey everyone! No, I haven't dropped off the face of the planet, but I sure as hell wish I could. I had 3 midterms last week, and this week I have 2 papers due, a bio midterm, a journal for Japanese and 3 quizzes in Japanese. *sigh* I did have a fun weekend. Thanks for visiting my home Amanda! Sorry if my psycho family scared you away forever though. However I got almost no sleep on Saturday, and I know I won't get any for the next few nights. I think I'm getting worse, sick-wise. I had a sinus infection last week that's still kind of hanging around and I can feel a migraine coming on. Ewww. On the up side, Amanda and I did get to work on our HP costumes this weekend. Mine is almost finished, but I probably won't get to work on it for awhile b/c of how much school work I have to get done. Anyway, I love and miss you all! TTYL!
I'm feeling better, which is nice b/c I hate being sick. Today will be fun b/c some of my friends and I are having a high schoolish slumber party, complete with raw cookie dough and chick flicks. We're all stressed b/c midterms are coming up, so we thought we'd have some fun to take off some of the pressure. I hope everyone is doing well. I feel like I've been neglecting everyone b/c I haven't been online to talk to anyone, but I've just been so damned busy this semester. That added to a 56k modem and AOHell makes for a difficult set-up. Anyway, yay for Friday, and everyone have a great weekend!
The fun: Happy Birthday Sarah! I know 20 is a shitty age, but think of it this way- at least you can legally get sloshed in a year! The not so fun: I think I'm sick. My tummy feels like little demons are having a war with spears and boulders. I don't think it's a virus though b/c I've felt like this before- when I was super stressed. I am super stressed right now. I have some big decisions looming over me. So it's probably just nerves. I hope. I'd better not have a virus b/c I have fun stuff planned for Friday. *pout* *Hugs* Love you all, and ttyl!
Ok, I know it's been a long time since I've blogged. I'm sorry everyone. I've just been really busy lately. Nothing much is going on with me really. Yesterday was my little brother's birthday, so Happy Birthday Jason! I have to go write a paper now, but I thought I'd let everyone know I am alive. Oh, and I changed my quote. Love to all!
What can I say? Everyone has already said everything, I'm sure. So I will simply say this: my heart goes out to all the victims, and their families, all of my fellow Americans, and all of those in other countries around the world who are praying for us. It was a tragedy, and now is a time to band together, and be strong and open-minded. I am sad, and angry, and confused. I can only tell you that when I watched people jumping from the top of the WTC because their only other option was to perish in fire or be crushed in a fall, I felt physically ill. That anyone should have to choose to die on their own terms in those circumstances is unimaginable. When I saw the second plane hit the tower, I felt tears well. I was angry at the people who did this, and even more angry at the media for shooting down the government because of America's lack of security. But even though I am all those things, I am proud of America, and of being American. Watching the Congress stand of the steps and sing together in unison (er, well, they tried to sing in unison anyway) was incredible, after hearing nothing but Democrat this and GOP that for the last 2 years. I love all of you, and you're all in my prayers.
Yay! My Aunt finally had her baby yesterday! It's a girl (which is nice for her, b/c she already has 3 boys), and her name is Abigail Kathleen. Isn't that adorable?! I am going home this weekend, so hopefully I'll get to see her. Later!
Ok, I know it's been AGES since I've blogged, or even changed my layout. It's not incredibly cool looking, but I was in a hurry. And I do love this painting. Anyway, not much has happened- a few more roommate problems, classes have started, I'm insanely busy with homework, etc. I did get a phone call from Anne last night; it was nice to hear from her. Anyway, I'll blog more often. Sorry about that! Bye bye everyone!

Oh my life is changing everyday
I know I felt like this before
Then I open up and see
I want more, impossible to ignore
Now I tell you openly
