I was so busy with finals and packing and moving and all that that I didn't have much time to do anything else. *sob* I miss my computer and our ethernet line! I hate my dad's POS computer and 56k line. *pout* Er, anyway... I am done with everything, which I am glad about. I guess some sacrifices have to be made. C'est la vie, non? Subsub, if you get this message- I will not be able to come to Bloomington on Thursday after all. Long story, but I am going to try to get that stupid dresser down to you guys soon. It's taking up too much room, and you need it way more than I do at the present. Laurelchan, I'd be glad to take The Bluest Eye if you don't want it. I like the way she writes. *.* Oh, and I finished making you that tape of CCS, which I will send asap, k? Same address? Ger, I really liked what you said in your blog, about what you'll remember from the last two years, now that we are upperclassmen. I think I'm going to try that now. I might leave some stuff out, but I'm going to do my best to put down the most important things that I've learned: ~Life is too precious to waste. And wasting it is selfish, and only causes others to suffer. ~The best lessons learned in life come with the heaviest prices. ~Your truest friends are the ones who understand you, and will stick by you in the roughest of times. ~Best friends are always together in spirit, no matter how far the distance. (I love you S, Anne, Jo, and Kim!!) ~I'm not a bad judge of character, judging by the friends I've made at IU and on the net! (*huggles* Subsub, Ara, Amanda, Bethany, Elly, Christina, Juli, Jen Garst, Laurelchan, Ger, Mearlchan, Lyra, QS, Moonsong- I couldn't have survived the last 2 years without you!) ~Love is a bitch, but one of the best teachers. ~Religion is not about what anyone else tries to force upon you, it's about what you know deep in your heart to be the truths of the universe. ~To quote Amanda, "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger." ~Fandom is such a great way to escape reality. Yay fandom! ~Bishounen are the key to happiness. (Especially underaged ones, ne Laurelchan and Amanda? ^_~) ~Siblings can be tolerable provided that you don't see them for 9 months out of the year. ~Patience really is a virtue. ~And finally, to quote Maya Angelou, "Everyone has the potential to be a rainbow in the clouds," for someone else. "Me" (I wish.) I wrote another one too. *gasp* I know, I finished 2 fics! (Although the plot bunnnies are still hopping around rampantly ^^;;) This one is WAY surreal, and to be honest, I'm not sure what I was on when I wrote it. It's another HP (I promise, I'll get my CCS, FY, and SM ones done sometime. >.< And yes, my Weiß one too, Laurelchan), and it's about Lily's view on life, and how she learned love and the desire to protect. I just have to print it and turn it in! *does chibi dance of victory* Sorry I haven't been on to talk much this week... and I probably won't be on much next week either, because next week is real finals week, and I have another paper due, as well as 3 finals to study for. -_- But I'm DONE with the 15 page paper from hell!! Currently listening to : Jack and Diane, John Mellencamp I just finished read Beloved by Toni Morrison... oh my god. If you haven't read that book, read it. It is so excellent. I can see why it won the Nobel and a Pulitzer. It's got that haunting quality to it that so few authors can really pull off. And now for my rant of the day. How did the world become so damned commercialized? It's like you can't turn a corner without seeing an advertisment for something stupid and pointless and sexual. Or maybe a new made up disease to make people buy pills they don't need. But my point has nothing to do with sex in advertising, or America's dependency on drugs. It's about children. I read an article from USA Today about how Warner Bros. sent law-suit threatening letters to CHILDREN (er, and teens) who happened to have websites that had ANYTHING to do with Harry Potter in their domain names b/c WB bought the rights to everything HP related- except the actual books. Can you even imagine?! The story of a sweet, endearing boy with a completely love-deprived childhood that has touched the hearts of children, teens, and adults of all ages, and it's now come down to corporate America. Everything always does. I mean, I'm all for working to get ahead in life and in business, but this is just bullying. It's just meaness. And it pisses me off. How can you believe in a system that takes the joy out imagination?! I adore J.K. Rowling, but to be honest, I kind of hope that she regrets ever signing that contract. Harry would be mortified.

I was holed up in my room, like I said I would be, and was hiding from the psychos in my dorm. I hatched some more plot bunnies. I actually managed to mostly finish one of them, too! (My HP mary sue- special thanks to all of those insane enough to let me put them in it ^0^) I did a few drawings, too, but I'll post them after I work on them a little more. I'm going to bed now. I have to get up in 3 1/2 hours. >.< Ja mata!

You know, tons of papers, frantically trying to catch up for finals, reading academic stuff like crazy, no sleep, stress, caffeine, advising appointments, etc... I'm a little nervous about Friday. I have a doctor's appointment at 8 a.m. *grumble* and my Japanese oral final exam. Not cool. And I have so much reading to do. I have a killer headache just thinking about it. *sigh* Just a little longer... Oyasumi minna!

I got to go hear Marcel Marceau give a lecture this afternoon on the art of mime, and the importance of the arts in our lives in general. It was fascinating lecture. He had so much energy! And so much passion for his art, and all art. He even did some miming for us. It was wonderful! My quote under 'Random Thought's was something he said during the lecture. Nothing spectacular happened today except for that. I have a ton of homework tonight, which is nothing unusual. Hopefully I can stay focused. Oh wait! I got an A- on a test I thought I got a C on! Thanks Ger, it looks gorgeous! *glomp* I had a good weekend. I think it's the first time in ages that I've gone home and not had a fight w/ someone in my family. It was refreshing. My brother has definitely chilled in the past few months. He's actually tolerable now. Random observation: it's very interesting to watch an insane post-modern Japanese soap opera called Love Complex after drinking anything alcoholic.
