I hope everyone else survived/ is surviving finals. *hugs* I know I haven't been on much this week, but it's been pretty crazy.

Love to all, and ttyl!

Ger's comment and Merry Xmas to MR.org... Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, 12:03 am

Ger, I read your blog this morning and your comment "I might not be the most with-it person in the entire world, but I know I'm richer for having friends like you guys. We were all meant for something great, I know it. I believe that"... that was really touching. I believe it too, and it's so important to me that we all believe in ourselves and each other. *hugs*

Um, even though everyone saw it in chat last night, I want to say Merry Christmas to my fellow HPRR-ers! I'm *not* Ly, but I had fun drawing it for you! ^^

S, Anne, and Kim: I *really* hope that you can all make it to visit me. I miss you all so much, and I'm dying to see you! Anne, I'm glad that you'll definitely be able to come- let me know about the dates. S and Kim said it depends on some factors, but I'll let you know.

*hugs* Love you all!

HPRR pic... Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, 11:50 am

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I had a ton of fun chatting this weekend, and if anyone who isn't part of the HPRR would like to check out our new page layout (with a lovely picture done by the oh-so-talented Lyra), then go to our RR blog, Harry Potter and the Midnight Revolution.

random... Thursday, Dec. 06, 2001, 12:31 pm

Quote of the day: "Sometimes it just feels good to be a bitch."

2 random funny stories from my roommate:

Ara: You will not believe what just happened to me...
Jen: Eh?
Ara: (Who I will now say was wearing a Slytherin shirt) 2 kids just ran up to me, yelled 'Slytherin is bad!!' and ran off again.
Jen: O.o;; I wonder what would have happened had I been with you wearing my Gryffindor shirt...
Ara: I think their littles minds would have not been able to process it and they would have exploded.
Jen: >.< Probably.

The other one...

Ara: Yesterday my friend and I were eating lunch outside of the Union. And there was a squirrell. He was sniffing for food. Then some guy came up to him and started staring at him. The squirrell backed away, so they guy went closer, still staring.
Jen: O.o;;
Ara: And then the squirrell got so freaked out, that it ran up the tree. So the guy sat down on the bench under the tree, still staring. We decided to ignore him at this point.
Jen: ......
Ara: But then we looked back over and he was trying to seduce it with food scraps! Scary Squirrell Stalker Man!
Jen: *snorts*
Ara: Then my friend yelled, "Hey! Stop molesting the squirrell!"

'Nuff said. This town is weird.

chat... Wednesday, Dec. 05, 2001, 11:53 pm

Great chat guys! *is still snickering* If anyone wants to see the craziness that IS MR.org, check out Ger's blog for bits of the convo. >.< Oh the insanity! *hugs all around her fellow MR.org-ers* I love you guys!

um... Wednesday, Dec. 05, 2001, 4:52 pm

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone's doing. I am SOOO glad that the term is almost over. Just 1 1/2 more weeks! *.* And I'm going home this weekend to see my brother and sister's chorus concert-thingy.

To my fellow MR.org HPRR-ers- this is just *too* much fun. Laurel, you're part *is* long. Mine is not nearly as long. ^^;; Is that a bad thing? Heads up Lyra! You're next! ^_~ Oh, yay! Then we can get your pic on the new layout!

S, Kim, I hope everything is good with you. I know everyone's been busy, so I understand how the communication can lag. ^^;;

My fun news: I got a cameo appearance in chapter 6 of Lissane's HP fic, Love is a Battlefield!!! If you want to read it, you can find it at Schnoogle.com, at the fics by author, Lissane. I'm Michel's assisstant. ^_~

While you're there, read The Lily Story by Tabitha Jones, Paradigm of Uncertainty by Lori Summers, and the Draco Dormiens series by Cassandra Claire, if you haven't. They are the best!

Anyway, enough fic rec-ing. ^^;; Good luck on your finals, everyone! I love you all! *hugs around*

Some good news... Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, 10:50 am

Actually, this is sort of old good news, but I forgot to mention it yesterday. I got accepted into the history departmental honors program! I'm very happy. Of course, it means spending ludicrous amounts of time in the library doing research for an undergrad thesis next year, but hey- it's going to look damned good on my grad school app.

I also got asked to resume the leadership poition for the History Club because one of the girls is graduating in December. I'm flattered that they asked, and I think I'm going to take them up on it.

Anyway, that's about it for the good news. Hope everyone's having a good day! S, I'm glad to see you're alive. ^_~

Update... Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, 12:24 pm

Hey everyone. Back from my haitus. Sort of. I've got finals coming up in the next few weeks, as do most of the rest of you, so it'll be hectic.

The new layout is obviously Harry Potter. I am not really fond of the porportioning, so I may have to fiddle with it later.

I hope everyone's break went well! I had a great time. I got to see almost all of my family, sleep in everyday, and Christmas shop. Plus, I saw the meteor shower, the city cemetry by flashlight on a nighttime tour, the Gifts of the Tzars exhibit at the Art Museum, and Harry Potter- *four* times in a week, a personal record! (And all I will say is this: I adore Daniel Radcliffe, and I think Quidditch should be made into a real spectator sport.)

To my fellow MR.org-ers, the round robin is tons of fun! I hope we keep it going. Laurelchan, I'm so glad we got to chat! It's been ages. Lyra, I can't wait to see the pics! Ger and QS, I can't wait to read the next parts. *glomps everyone*

S, Anne-girl... I haven't heard from either of you in awhile. I hope all is well with you, and that you had a nice break, and all that. I will try to get in touch with both of you soon!

Anyway, love to all!

Image Song

Hero
Mariah Carey

There's a hero if you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid of what you are
There's an answer if you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road when you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
You can find love if you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone tear them away
Hold on there will be tomorrow
In time you'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

House : Gryffindor

Family : Muggle-born, both parents Muggles

Wand : willow, contains single hair from the tail of a unicorn; gentle and whispy; perfect for performing enchantments

Pet : snowy owl; gift from a secret admirer at Hogwarts; she is affectionate and reliable, but has a bad habit of eating the snacks my mother sends me in the post. I decided to name her Blodeuwedd, after the Welsh Celtic goddess of flowers, lunar mysteries, and wisdom; her symbols are the owl and the moon.
