Ach >< Suddenly overcome with a bout of sleeplessness, which is quite weird since I've actually fallen asleep for a few moments.

Idly flipping through the radio stations, so surprised to hear Tao Ze and Stef on 958! First thought that ran through my mind was that oh man, considered old already meh O_o the next thought then caught up with the first and reminded me that at least now Dobson will get to hear more pop songs ~ still remember his station of choice, and him telling us all that he'd hear about the songs we're listening to... in about 5 years time.

And speaking of songs, anyone heard the national day kiddy's "Sing our wishes" song? >< Horrible tune, forced to fit awkward lyrics... shall remember to go find the lyrics and have a good laugh someday.

Then briefly contemplated using up one of my free smses, but ended up continuing to channel surf. I'm quite amazed that all the 5 chinese stations happened to play songs that I quite like, had a bit of trouble trying to listen to all of them.

Flipped, tossed and turned somemore, then decided to listen to the lullaby-ish Faye's Chen Ke, but ended up typing away hmm... probably tired to enough to fall asleep now! Shall go try haha...

And woohoo by the way, no outfield for me! :D All thx to the army half marathon heheh ^^

Ackackack i can't believe this!
It's like, as you step out of the exam hall, burning notes and smashing stationery, exhilarated because it's the last paper, and was suddenly informed that there'd be another paper or two next week?
Right, maybe not such an apt description, but the idea conveyed is probably similar. Just last month we stepped down from active duty, which means we're not going to see muds and greens for the rest of NSF life. Have already returned most of the items to the store, as well as the idea of outfield back to the army, and then they told us we'd be going back to the wilderness for a weeklong outfield event O_o Apparently our platoon got the short straw of the draw, we're to be placed under the higher command going further training, guinea pigs to practise on ugh ><

But still -hopes- hope it doesn't touch saturday, that's maf :( -hopes more- maybe i'd be let off haha for the training ^^

Ugh, what an ISO 50 comment, can't help cringing even now >_<

Fahrenheit 451 looks like a potentially interesting read; so far efforts to obtain a copy have been hampered by the fact that most of the people sharing it with me ain't English, and I've got 4 spanish copies so far -_-

Found it! :) Along with millions of books oh dear, my hard drive is so going to be a library soon ^^

Chasing time on Friday, August 19, 2005...

Plenty of things just flew by, perhaps I shall catch a few and pen it down before it eludes my grasp.

ECP outing on Sunday was quite fun, frisbee part was a bit yawnish though but got to line skate around for quite a bit, fell twice ach; quite a danger to the passerbys eh >< Could remember the last when I fell off my bike, my head got rolled over by a bike, which unfortunately comes with a pair of wheels. But fortunately though, he's a kid, so I survived and is currently able to reminisce at length at what happened then...

Dinnered away, snapped some group shots, then headed for the airport; an act of necessity, given that two person are headed towards the airport, and the three people remaining just can't play bridge on their own. Explored the unchartered / unpopulated terrains of Changi, finding several long corridors interconnecting T1 and T2, and snapped away happily, though some photos ended up lacking depth due to poor placement. Popped out in T2, settled down at Pacific Coffee. Hemhawed around the counter, until the barista tried to get me to buy something. Asked for recommendation, and ended up with some hazelnut thingy.

Stuck around for a while more, noted that the last train has left one of its unwilling passenger behind with us, noted too that the last bus is an hour away, so sat down in some corner and started dealing. Ah, bridge fix.

Spent the next day in Marina. Some army carnival; thought it was supposed to be some interesting, more carnival-like thingy. But turned out to be pretty interesting, seeing what the rest of the army is up to (portable laundry/fridge?!). Went onto the ship and looked around, got stuck due to the lightning forecase, but found a nice room to rest in; pity I didn't bring my camera due to some unfounded advice tt electronics are not allowed on board. Got lost muchly after that, ended up walking quite a bit and all over the place.

And just when I thought my map worries were over, was at Ubi area yesterday, trying to find the warranty shop for my BT keyboard. Having no compass and a vague memory of a map, I set off adventurously into the concrete jungle and started hunting around. Gave up and took a taxi, whose driver had a good laugh at my expense as he delivered me towards the opposite direction. Apparently I've inadvertently inverted the map mentally, heading SE instead of NW. More troubles to come, and almost boarded a bus in the wrong direction.

Botanic gardens today, despite the rain, the late start, lots of nuggets and lack of twister fries, we managed to explore quite a bit of the botanical gardens. Absense of unique flowers disturbing, seeing only the common species around, along with plenty of leaves, fern and greenery, leaving us little to shoot but to dwadle around flowers that we actually see. Realised that swans come in black varieties as well, so much for ugly ducklings turning into white swans. Popped by Coro to have a drink, and day ended with amusingly as Mel spotted and attempted to hide from his old flame (though I think she looks slightly different; sister perhaps)

And I've friends getting married! :D a sign age is creeping up round the corner. Hmm, 10 year countdown starting soon >_<

Been sleeping LOADS nowadays, sigh. Alarm clocks just not alarming enough, I'd calmly press the snooze button 6 times of 5 minutes snoozes until even electronics give up and let me dream on. I need a more dedicated clock, I guess. One that alarms more insistently as snoozes increase :p

Chasing time on Sunday, August 14, 2005...

I'm such a prophet, or just a skilled applicant of the Conservation Of Luck theorem -_-

Was heading towards Dhoby Ghaut to meet up with my buddies, but somehow left quite late, idly hoping that I'd somehow be lucky enough to grab a direct bus to Hougang station and hence still be on time, instead of the usual 6 mins run to Sengkang...

Now, its not normal to get what you want, and as I board 27, bewildered at the timely arrival, I resigned myself to some consequential ill luck, but I would not expect myself to arrive at Hougang station to find it closed, and signs kindly inform me to head either towards Kovan or Sengkang via their shuttle services.

Heck, there's no way I'm heading back towards Sengkang, so onwards to Kovan, until I realised that there's no shuttle bus, and we're expected to find our way to our destination with the buses available. A few hiccups aside, involving me boarding the wrong bus, and missing the right one, I managed to reach Kovan, to be greeted with Station Closed, and that I should make my way to Serangoon. Fine, I hopped on the next bus and popped down at Serangoon, to be greeted again with the same words on the overhead display: Station Closed.

Now, I'm getting quite fed-up of advancing train stations one stop at a time, so when the shuttle service finally came, and the driver telling the disbelieving crowd that the bus terminates at Potong Pasir (without telling us the service there is actually functional), no one wanted to board it only to get ahead by one station.

Managed to pop onto 147, which is supposed to head towards Little India, but passed by Potong Pasir on the way, and from the lack of people milling about aimlessly I guessed that the train service is working, and hopped on.

Ah well, at least we caught the movie on time, Charlie & Choc Factory, which though not spectacular was still interesti ng and sweet (both sense), and left us wanting for more: ended up in Secret Receipe for desserts, of Choc Mud Cake, Tiramisu, and Choc Banana :D

Chasing time on Monday, August 8, 2005...

Haven't been blogging much, for I've been plotting much;
Yet with all the plotting there's just been much fog,
where the week should be, sneaking by while I'm agog.
(Rhyming shouldn't be enforced, dot dot dot)

So.

Essentially no new layouts, no new photos, no new ideas;
Decided to leave things be, cos I've no idea of beauty.
Oh yes, perhaps I have, just that sometimes I figure
Utility is sufficient, aesthetics when I'm freer

I thought perhaps it be nice if I posted some recent slides
But I look at time and realise I've gotta go in five mites
So just a brief summary of whatt to come in my life,
Squeezed to fit, bite size, aka fast food and the likes.

Crunch.
I'm on a insane off clearing spree; free till 22, with the exception of 15, resulting in me having to miss all 4 days of the SFireworksF. Maybe not today though; I'd be at the Stadium Boulevard, got my bearings through Can.com.sg, and will find a HDB to climb.

Chew.
I want to learn poker :D Sounds highly cheem heheh.

Grind.
Get another hard drive, with memory upgrades.

Swallow.
And finally, I introduce to you InteractiveStory.Net, a 15 minutes interactive open ended drama-like game about you, your two married friends, and conflict resolution; features advanced natural language input parsing so that means you can talk to them more easily, realistic emotive responses, and open interactions with characters and the environment. 800 megabytes, bittorrent.
