Might it be the effects of doses of coffee in Vietnam, the disruption in sleep pattern, or just sheer laziness that I'm feeling sleepy just hours after the morning reveille?
Still struggling to organise the photos and settle the videos from Vietnam, so unfortunately no photos up here yet. Hopefully by end of the month, though!
Now juggling between 4 pairs of glasses, -7.50 for full strength correction, -6.75 for normal distance viewing, -6.25 for normal viewing. The last pair of around -5.00 is a really antique pair of Dad's glasses made in 1993, and are really what the name says: two big panes of glasses! It weighs down so heavily on the ears and noses that I get dizzy and uncomfortable just from wearing it alone -_- And that is besides the fact that it makes me look like a human fly. Had intended for this pair to be the computer glasses, as the pair I normally use still overcorrects for such near distance.. guess I'd need to start digging for mom's spare spectacles ^^

Hates stupid Charcolette designers, who place "Page forward" and "Page back" next to her arrow keys and wrecked my entry when fingers found unfamiliar buttons but forged bravely ahead.
Boring life so far, with mostly coding and computers. So far successfully interfaced a Forex broker API with Python and a Technical Analysis library in C, using TCP for interconnection but hm there has to be a better way to implement shared memory access or DDE or whatnot. Trying to build the neural nets for analysis of various TAs and of course eventual implementation of the autotrader.
Managed to find and grab the IO locations where Charco's accelerometers write values to, and graphed the details using SDL.. integration of area under graph also results in velocity and displacement values :) Heavily subject to noise and poor resolution of about 0.06ms-2, useful for trains mainly. Two-axis, so tilt affects results badly and hence not for use without stable platform. Working on concentrating on a single axis, using the other axis for cancellation of tilt values. Btw the image scales are not correct! Please divide by the scale factor haha, I'm too lazy. Maximum acceleration seen on train is only 1ms-2, not 1g :p
Spent major time planning for the SE Asia trip, which could net me some time saved if everyone could have chipped in equally, but ah wells. Spent 2 days of coding to get an event-based Symbian Pythonic implementation of the GPS receiver as well as a Map plotter, after resigning to the fact that loop-based will kill my phone much faster than I can traverse (how do you say traverse for length? or it works both ways? depth/breadth search haha) Vietnam. Calibrated about 6 maps for use in Vietnam, which should keep us in route unless Jips fails spectacularly :) Phish and Jips, phone and GPS! :)
Coding the Design portal, some brainchild of a primary school friend. Not much to work on, so spent approximately 1 days worth of time so far.
Practising Bate's method now of Concentration, Centralisation and Relaxation for eye care :) Taking the opportunity of no study to wear lower dioptred glasses. Currently using a pair of -5.50 glasses for my -7.50 sight when doing near work, and -6.50 for distant vision. Eyechart in room, 3 meters away, to ensure that I'm not killing my eyesight in the meantime. To get a mirror and light source to bring it to the optimal 6 meters. To let rents perform acupuntucture near the eyes to stimulate relaxation, they say it works and have tried it themselves.
Exercise wise have so far not been very successful, limited to mainly stretching, crunches and pushups before sleeping. Haven't gotten about to running yet, but have taken up most opportunities to run (ie from and to MRT stations, after buses haha).
Music wise more or less stalled. Occasional plucks and strums of guitar, but never touched my erhu since :( Not studying theory yet.
Net returns from investments roughly 5.5% a month for the past 6 months. Authenticity of gains highly suspect though haha since it's mainly in high risk ventures, so don't ask me where they're from.
Ends quarterly report.
Bought wireless modem semi-2nd hand, but realised that first hand cost the same :( Bought mouse, only to notice a cheaper and better model next door. Bought LAN card from Y!, owner took his own sweet time and completely not worth it, but at least I got it safe and sound. Bought GPS and antennae. Bought 512 XD and SD cards. XD cards cost 2.5x the price of SD -_- After Australia I'm going to be completely broke. Yet I shall probably have barely enough to last me to school reopening, mainly because of the Progress package despite the mediocre sum that it is. -off to eat soil-
Somehow the planning seemed more fun than the trip. I've very reluctant to leave haha. But well it seems exciting, but quite a lot of the bookings were done by me (I'm carrying a file full of paperwork and info) that I'm quite stressed I went wrong somewhere.
Dreamt of army again. Twice in a row. First was about me being recalled on the eve of trip, thanks to Sumet who called me worriedly to ask if there is any news about recalling. I think I tried to escape in the 2nd dream, I knew I was in a dream but it didn't seem weird to me, even though the construct world contained elements of physical representations of physiological and mental functionings... but they seemed so well integrated. Ran and ran like I've never ran before to escape haha, it was really quite fun and memorable :) Quite cartoon like too, the way I had to scramble on all 4s to accelerate to the speed I deemed necessary haha. And after all that I ended up in a library -_- Realised I hit my loan quota and decided to go back -_-'' thankfully I woke up at this point.
Will add more when I get back, photos stories and all :) Take care everyone!
