Beneath the mask of laughter
A facet unbeknownst to many
Buried emotions, shackled joy
Who'd have known?
Who'd have seen the clown cry?

Take a glance around you
Who knows, perhaps,
The one closest to you,
Always laughing, always jesting
Is yet another tragic clown...

For My Eyes Only?

Dons his red nose on Sunday, January 26, 2003...

Ok guess I should stop procrastinating and start to blog. The past is lost, I guess. Ah well. A little less reading matter for the future, that's all I guess. Hmm though I've started to write a little of the missing gap, but for now shall just continue as it is.

Day started off fine, other than being much more lazy, having just reached home 12mn hours ago, due to talentime rehearsal we've have had in and near school (think KAP).

School started off ok, with one of the few practicals which things actually went smoothly, hahaha. Other than some stupid mistakes, and other unfound mistakes, most likely stupid too. In the 20 mins we've got for completing it early was spent trying to get the electric guitar to work, and the songs playing. Was hell after the break, the next 7 periods was spent falling asleep, yes falling non stop, but not really asleep. Physics was sheer torture, with much to copy, and much to sleep about, and can't fall asleep! :( I'm sure that they've designed the chairs to be as sleep-unfriendly as possible... Practiced for another hour or two after school ended, until around 7.

Tired. And homework's still undone. Not much intention to do it -_-

Oh yes. Haven't been posting recently, busy + stuff. Shall update during weekends.

And yeah finally got back to IRC, utterly shocked by the utter lack of dignity, decorum and respect in the IRC channel, especially _today_.... especially when it's a class channel. I don't care if you cuss and swear somewhere else, but omg...

Haha worse case of sickness ever... Have never been home and gone straight to bed because I'm too sick & tired to eat. Urgh.

Didn't really check my SAT scores on 9th, for I'm near semicomatose when I reached home. Anyway, mightily glad that I wouldn't have to retake that test after checking my score online. And no, I wouldn't think in the matter that I've delayed possible celebrations for an entire week, but rather, in this time I've prepared myself for the worst case possible, and hence the crazy jumping all over the house, literally, after seeing the results :)

Also, managed to get my appeal for Maths S through, whoopie! :) Scored rather horribly for promos last year, had quite a high chance that I wouldn't have gotten it anyway. So, another yay :)

I'm utterly convinced too that my junior class is a wonderful bunch of people to have around. Many more yays! Well. Perhaps still a little unnerved by their blatant desperateness, well then, you can't blame guys who've spent 4 years of their adolescence stuck in that school across the slip road, eh :P Hmm, noticed many juniors too lived near Sengkang, with some even going to the same bus stop to transfer :)

Happily, NewScientist is finally coughing up articles, and there are loads waiting to be read! :)

- Wednesday -

Was CCA exhibition day, and hence had to help prepare for ITS promote itself. Though I didn't do much, actually, for I had to go perform for CO too. Unfortunately, got too tied up enjoying ourselves playing the erhu in the "echo room" that when we thought it's time to get onto the stage, the event is about to start! From the backstage though, we can almost hear our juniors running away from CO, hahahaha. Hmm, oh well. We retreated back to the echo room again, reminiscing the past, playing the songs we've once played, forgotten... but remembered again. Long over, but the tune stays on.

Stayed back to join in the juniors with the flag painting and discussion for the performances. Was impressed by their creativity and enthusiasm, for they didn't need help at all, and was moving on much much faster than what our class would have ^_- Left early at around 7, initially wanted to go home to study chemistry, but as usual fell onto the bed promising to sleep for half hour, waking up at midnight. Tried to choke down notes, but it's like trying to force water into a enclosed tube, and finally succumbed to sleep anyway without studying much at all.

- Thursday -

Practically stoned in school after lessons, sitting on the class bench, sometimes talking, sometimes just breathing. Happens that our chem tutor hasn't been assigned to our class, even when she was supposed to be, and the class ended being a little unhappy. Can feel that the new tutor is really trying hard to integrate us into his class though, but still sort of miss our previous one.

Asked some non-chem students on solving one of the questions on a overall rather difficult chem paper, whom they even can solve ~ occasionally questions get easy to the point that it is scary, eh. Went to CHS clock tower (seems like a favourite hangout, haha) to watch them rehearse for their skit, which was quite good. Well, compared to our performance last year, anything is good :P

- Friday -

Went to watch our junior class perform after school, though sadly it wasn't as impressive as what we thought it'd be, due to the usage of already-overused advertisements like "¶«Î÷ÔÚÄÄÀ". We can really see which advertisements are successful in the performances put up by the classes, heh. Anyway, donned my secondary school uniform, running around trying (not really very hard, though) to convince others I'm J1. Ended up at Mac in Serene for dinner, just like last year, haha traditions eh?

Crashed into their camp fire night, sitting at the back of our junior class, and reliving the past, though this year's was certainly not as impressive as what happened last year. Extremely amused when S7's performance was disqualified due to indecency, hahaha with kisses, guys stripping, pole dancing, I'm not surprised :P Really had loads of fun singing the college songs again, blending into the crowd as part of it, and yes it's one of the few times we can actually feel the entire school pulsing as one. As usual, joined in the mass dances (never missed any of the sessions before anyway :P), and am glad to say that I've finally properly learnt all the dance moves (crashed into their learning sessions, heh), especially for Wild Wild West! Hmm, wonder if anyone is surprised by the familiarity with the dances the two disguised J1s are :P

As usual, photo taking session in the amphitheatre, with 7 or 8 cameras flashing away, and 4 classes of S60 taking part (00 to 03), it sure took us a long time. Followed by the passing of sparkling grape juice around, where as tradition popped the cork of all the three bottles, each class having one. Spent so much time there, that eventually all the lights went out, and spirits undampened by the lack of lights, moved to the Clock Tower and continued, singing songs with the accompaniment of guitars, sometimes without, before we're finally chased away by the security guards at around 11.15pm. Oh well. At least we wouldn't have missed any of the buses :)

So far it has been a wonderful year indeed, with many many many more ":)"s than ":("s :) I certainly hope it'd continue so...

I have decided to go see my SAT scores on the 9th... Like one week after the results are released, or at least until they send me the letter, forcing me to face reality (haha)

Ooh and yes we've seen our juniors! Indeed they've left me a very good impression of their class, with decisive action, little hesitation (or "inertia") and enthusiastic response (somewhat limited to a few, though), and well most are quite approachable too. Looking forward to the next few months with them before we approach the eye of the storm, the final leg of the journey, sailing the path we've been going for the past 12 years.

Tralala. In a rather good mood nowadays, hope it'd last though. Or will it be yet another reflection of the happenings of yesteryear?

Much to worry about CenTaD. It's not that we've done nothing, but I do wish I actually had the time to do a deeper research into sound analysis, it's sure gettign more and more interesting, as you dig deeper down this pristine, previously untouched field of knowledge. Would we strike oil, or come out empty handed, with only the knowledge that it is impermeable to our attacks?

Ooo. Wells. Feeling crappy today, urh so there might be some inappropriate use of words. Haha.

Just finished reading the 6th (and the last) book in the foundation series on my computer (never could find it in libraries), and it's just that feeling of sadness, of finally finishing the entire series... that it's all over? The long ride I've been taken on has ended, even worse, abruptly. But oh well, at least I could start on my book review now.

And if anyone does want any of the e-books of the foundation series, all 10 of them, just ask me, eh? :) For that matter, Belgariad series, Disc World series, and LOTR series too.

Sigh. I still can't bring myself to go see my SAT scores. You know, that perpetual self delusion, just like how I daren't go see the S papers posting, daren't find out my scores to the tests, until they are finally shoved into my face. What's the point, this fear, especially when my fate has already been sealed, the scores cast into stone?

But I'd still wait until they send the actual letter, instead of finding it out on the net -smiles weakly-

Grr. I realised that I've completely misplaced the book review I've completed last year. Actually, I just can't find it in my GP file, but that's almost equivalent to being lost, judging by the state of my room. Aww, that means I'd have to do this year's book review. But yay! Now I'd have a reason to finish reading one of the books I've downloaded :)

Haha finally found out the reason for the poor water flow in the bathroom! Turns out that the pipe is clogged with deposits from the water, after having it flow through for 5 years. Amusing to see my parents take turn to blow water into so as to force the deposits out from the other end, hmm. But yay! Finally able to see some semblence of turbulence in the waters, and the water pressure is a refreshing change from water that almost doesn't flow.

Hello Year 2003 (and 2002 too ~ if you're still there),

Sorry, for I slept through the first few hours of sunlight you've thrown on Earth, but I was too busy enjoying myself, under the last of the sparkling night skies of 2002, and had to sleep today.

I do wish you could tell what's in store for me in your year, for I've never been so apprehensive on approaching a new year. I promised I wouldn't regret 2002, and I didn't, for I did enjoy it, and have tried to ensure that it'd be a year to remember.

Could this year be even better? I hope so. Aspirations and hopes overflowing, resolutions laid (and modified already, lol), and promises to you, that I would try to make you the best year ever. Learn to talk and know when to keep quiet. To cut the egoistic drive from the core, rather than just masking it. Accept how the others are, rather than reject - applies to my weaknesses too, does it not? To not be covetous to the wrong extent, but to be satisfied with the way things are - isn't this the way I wanted. To be happy, no compromises, not to lie to myself that I am. And to know my mistakes - tell me, wouldn't you, instead of keeping me in the dark for so long.

Am I asking too much of myself? Or is this just everyone's normal drive to better oneself, to ask for perfection? An eternal hope, a lifelong goal... or an unfufillable aspect of life, because we all aren't meant to have it all?

Oh well. A good year to you, 2003, and I hope it rubs off on me too.

Heh, so after the disastrous attempt to do my work, which I ended up playing games, tried to take a bath, when the water just refused to flow somewhere in the middle. Hmm, oh well. Time to remind my parents it's high time to increase the water flow. Was supposed to reach TP MRT by 5pm, and as usual over estimated the speed of buses, and ended up rather late. Bought the drinks, and left for Bishan MRT to meet up with the rest.

Hmm actually, I'd say that nothing much significant has happened tonight, other than seeing them dump an entire pack of charcoal into the pit, and empty the second over the night (which incidentally resulted in the largest and hottest fire I've ever seen), barbequing food which few ate (almost everyone was stuffed full with the pre-prepared food), wondering about the lack of satays from the barbeque (found an entire bag of satays waiting to be bbq-ed the next day, all 60 of them, which was overlooked by everyone somehow), the 3 months past expiry bbq sauce (which again no one noticed ... almost no one), realising that you can bbq mushrooms (which unfortunately i don't touch - not one bit), and also that if you start such a large fire, always keep flipping the food, unless you'd like cold food with black hot charred spot where the grill touched. Oh yes, and learnt quite a bit about alcohol from melvin, who seems quite well read about alcohols and stuff, haha. Oh well, hmm, so much did happen in the night, just depends on whether one noticed, or even bothered to record.

oh wells. yes to those who too played cards the entire night, i'm typing it on the bus now! haha, for if i don't, i'd fall asleep, and stay asleep... oh hmm. anyways yes pretty boring and nothing much to blog about, it's just bridge, other than rather bad hands throughout the game, that we played for 8 hours straight, that we had 3 toilet breaks, that ants _do_ get drunk (oh haha well mebbe they'd are just tired), that we had our New Year's countdown which resulted in several curious heads poking out from the windows, that the best way to summon policemen in housing estates is to squeal a few times ("Excuse me, do you see anyone quarreling/arguing..."), and that if you don't sleep the night, and continue not, you'd end up typing nonsense like me.

Wells. My stop is here. Perhaps I shall continue later :) And yay! This means I blogged the earliest among you all bridge-rs! :) *aura of cheap thrill*
