I am about five seconds away from squealing like a rabid fan girl...and that scares the crap out of most of my friends. I'm not a squealer...I can never remember doing it...though mom and dad might prove me wrong, but the reason for my elation is making everyone think that I'm on drugs or something.

About a couple of months ago, I entered the following contest, wondering how my skills as a fan fiction writer would stand up. Well, today I get an e-mail from Dana O'Neil, also known as the head of the fan fiction contest, and she listed the top seven entries that had been submitted and judged. I...WON THIRD PLACE! I can't believe I was in the top three...much less the top seven, but I won Third Place, and now I am screaming and bouncing up-and-down for joy on the inside of my body. Words cannot describe my happiness, but I won; a writer for a much older, probably more obscure fandom, won Third Place at an Anime Convention up in Canada by a group of judges that had to e-mail me several times asking for information on the series! You do not know how happy I am...

By the way, if you want to see which story won, please click this link.

Now that I am done sharing this elation, we will now return you to your regularly scheduled program...

The Pixelated section of my online journal now is randomized...and it also holds all my favorite Warlord/Masho icons! Feel free to click the refresh button and get a random image!

Wow, I just realized that should get off my lazy ass and start placing more entries in you dear journal; just yesterday I FINALLY got back into the swing of things, aka get up, breakfast, classes, lunch, classes, dinner, etc, and since now that I'm done with tonight's homework, I should probably catch everyone up-to-date...

The trip to Washington went really well. We took the Crescent Train to get to Washington, but as it turns out, it was about three to four hours behind schedule. It turns out that Amtrak new about the delays the train was having after Katrina destroyed a bridge in New Orleans, but decided not to update their online schedule to include the time change. Raf was pissed, Sarah was pissed, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out who was the only calm person that was there? When we finally did get on the train, we all took a seat together, but...again...we had to end up stopping for more than an hour due to some MORE problems. No one was happy about the whole thing and a passing train that zoomed on right by us got the middle finger from Raf. When we finally got to Union Station, I soon realized that neither Sarah nor Raf new anything about the city we were visiting; so guess who ended up playing tour guide? In short, getting to Washington sucked, but amazingly, we had no problems while we were in D.C. and while we were making our way home.

Other than the trip, I've been going to my classes, doing homework, and making icons. I am starting to think that for the pixelated area of my journal I should get a randomizer host to hold all my icons. They're sitting my Photobucket Account and going nowhere fast, and if I'm in the mood, I'll do that tonight.

Other than that, all is quiet on the High Point front...

I was shown a great Warlord/Masho Quiz! Here are the results!

You are Anubis

You are Anubis!

You once used the Dark Lord as a means of gaining your own glory. But when he betrayed you there was Hell to pay in Paradise. You are cutting and to the point in deed, thought and speech. You are a noble warrior with the heart of a poet. You have no idea whether or not you like this evil business but you're willing to play along. You were once the Master's favored one but now you pretty much spend most of your time under Dais in girlish fan fiction. Try losing those outdated bangs and waxing those tacky eyebrows. Then get out there and join a boy band or something. Your ruthless nature will help your climb on the pop idol ladder of success.

Which Dark Warlord of the Dynasty Are You?
Brought to you by Quizilla

Surprise, I think not...

One more day until I head off to Washington. Everything seems to be going perfectly; I am almost finished getting packed for the trip, I have a handy map of the Metro rails at arm's reach, and I believe I am ready for anything. Granted my Jade Earrings have not come in, but I'm willing to compromise on the way I look.

Even though I know I'm ready for this trip, I'm still a bit nervous. Yes I will have other people with me, but I keep thinking that something will go wrong. It's probably just my nerves, and when I get on the train, they will probably go away.

Speaking of the train, I will not be going to Washington on the Carolinian, I will actually be going on a train with a dining car. Breakfast should be good, and if I'm lucky, it will be just as good as the food on the train I am taking back.

Other than that, classes and life are following the usual routine. Before I forget, thanks for the Valentine's Day card mom and dad!

Happy Valentine's Day! Or, at least I should say that to the people who actually have a boyfriend, girlfriend, or a spouse. While those with dates go out to eat and do mushy things that make me want to gag, the dateless go to the cafeteria and pig out on pretzels, strawberries, and marshmallows dripped in chocolate from the fondue fountain. Considering the fact that I am one of the dateless, it was off to the cafeteria to pig out on chocolate, pasta, mashed potatoes, and sparkling white grape juice. Thank you Nido for giving the dateless something to celebrate with...

In other news, the trip is two days away, and I can't wait to actually get on the train! We will be arriving at Union Station and probably take the Red Line to the hotel. I'm a bit nervous; it is not because I've never ridden Metro before, but the only line I've ever been on is the Orange Line. Thankfully, we'll be getting on Metro AFTER rush hour, so that will make the trip a little bit easier. I hope Raf and Sarah have remembered to bring their Metro Fare in small bills; can you imaging getting change for a twenty dollar bill in a load of quarters? I didn't think so either...

Two other quick things to note: one, I got the package you mailed to me mom, the chocolate-covered almonds are delicious, and two, feel free to check out my latest fan fiction poem Soldier.

I should have written in you at the beginning of the week, but when Aunt Flo decides to come for a visit, you tend to wallow in the feelings that she leaves behind. In any case, my week can be summed up in two words; bitchy and drained.

No, I am not making this up; all this week I have been feeling bitchy, irritable, moody, and drained of energy. I feel like the first thing that pisses me off will get disemboweled, AND the first male who pisses me off will not only be disemboweled, but castrated to prove a point. No, I will NOT actually disembowel anyone, but considering how I've been feeling the past couple of days, the offer looks mighty tempting. I must have been in a man hating mood this past week, but I still don't feel any love towards the male gender...

In other news, next Friday, I will be getting on a train, and making my way towards Washington, District of Columbia. Raf, Sarah, and I will be going, and we'll be staying at a nice hotel that is very close to the Washington Zoo. I not only hope that we will go to the zoo, but to the Vietnam War Memorial, and the World War Two Memorial. I've only seen the World War Two Memorial once, and I'd like to go back and see it again. Granted, I wish I could take grandpa with me; he fought in the European Theater during WWII, and I feel that he should ber there to see the highest tribute given to his generation. Yeah, his generation saved the world, but they don't see it that way; to my grandpa, he only did his duty to his country, but to me, he stopped a madman named Adolf Hitler...

I have come to the conclusion that when I am stressed out, tense, and angry, that I cannot seem to open my mouth and say things without saying them in anger. Kim says that it is okay for me and every other human being to get angry at times, and, thankfully I might add, she understands when things are said in anger, but Kim, Kelly, and my mom think that the best therapy for me is to write in my online journal. So, it appears that I will be writing in here more often...

Sarah, Raf, and I are planning to go on a trip to Washington D.C. on February 17. We will be staying at the The Churchill Hotel, and our plans include a trip to the Washington Zoo, the Smithsonian, and we may, I repeat may, this is not set in stone, spend a day at the Capitol Building. Again, the Capitol visit is not set in stone, but it will be fun to go to the American History Museum or the Natural History Museum.

As of right now, I am currently browsing Amazon.com to look for some new jewelry I can wear to Washington. I am torn between this pair of earrings or this pair. Most likely, I'll end up picking the purple Jade earrings, but I’m also debating on if I should buy a bracelet or not.

I am still working on what I want to look like when I get to Washington, but I promise that I will call home and let you know that I have made it. Please do not fuss over me mom; if I stay close to Sarah and Raf, pay attention, and do not show my wallet, then I should be just fine.

Also, today is the day of the Super Bowl; I could care less...
