What do you MEAN I'm Forbidden?
...
Just thought I'd remind everyone that this doesn't exist. Man. I am going through some serious withdrawl.
I *am* Tim McCarver.
...
I'm debating buying this book. I could do it. Sure, why not. It's not going to cost me much. And McCarver and I often have the same damn thoughts about games, which SCARES me because sometimes he just goes off into his own little world and rants or mutters about something that has very little to do with the situation at hand...oh, wait. I do that too, don't I?
South Park: EVIL!
...
This is a fantastic, insightful review of the South Park movie from the ever popular Christian Analysis of American Culture. When you're done with this, check out the rest of their reviews. It's amazing how they just cut to the heart of everything. *cough*

If it walks, quacks, and talks like a sportswriter...
...
The other day I listened to the end of the Yanks game on the radio, and the guys had Mike Lupica, sportswriter for the NY Daily News, in the booth. He talks just like a sportswriter. I've seen him on that ESPN roundtable show where they're all sportswriters, and he's the one that talks in long paragraphs with minor cliches. It's actually rather amusing. Anyway, this is the article he said he was going to write, and he did. What a trooper.
Lex is my hero.
...
It's true. She is my hero. Why? Well...because she is, and she has pie and a title about ducks. Why isn't she YOUR hero, too?
uReach
...
Yay for uReach, the place that gave me my very own toll-free number. You can call it without spending a cent on long distance! Isn't that FAN-schminking-tastic? My number is 1-877-260-4881. Join the proud few who have already called and leave me a nonsensical message to brighten up my day. Roo!
WHAT kind of a crossover?
...
A Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Titanic (the movie) crossover fanfic. I kid you not. I swear, I've seen weird fanfic before, but this really takes the cake. I think I need to go lie down.
Fanfiction.net
...
So in my serach for Dragnet fanfic (slash or otherwise) I found this site. I have yet to find actual Dragnet fanfiction, but this site is actually pretty nifty. People review and rate the stories archived there. I like that idea. Pretty wide selection of shows, too.

Oh, too hot. I've been watching Dragnet a lot lately (5:30pm EST on TV Land), and this site is absolutely lovely. The show itself is great to watch. Everything is so crisp and perfect and within 21 minutes, everything's all right and we'll be read a sentencing. With quotes like "Well, Mister, you're a psycho, and they're a minority, too!"...well...a girl can't help but be smitten. Now if only I could find Friday/Gannon slash...
Legend's Field

Hmm...could it be? A fast-loading well made Yanks site? I'm intrigued enough to mention it.
dooommmaaaaahhhhh...

Well, this is rather disappointing. I was hoping it meant "He who is of pretty face" or something.

So...who wants to chip in to buy me some of this sweet spork action? Wow...check out the handles on those babies.

Ari's House of Pain
...
I found out today that I can't talk about sports with Ari. Not only does she have an alma mater that plays Cornell in hockey, she cheers for the RED SOX. Someday she'll come away from the dark side...in the meantime, I'll send her a tshirt.
Ally Sheedy IS Hedwig
...
My favorite part about this story is the line "BroadwayNow's Ken Mandelbaum reported the casting July 24, but it was not officially confirmed until July 29"- I wonder if Ken knows he was scooped by "Entertainment Weekly"? They printed the casting bit in last week's issue, which I got on July 23rd.
NY Times Sports Section

I'm basically hanging around here to see if any weird trades happen between now and midnight. All I've discovered so far is that Sammy Sosa hit number 40...and hey, beat the Mets. I'm all for that.
get her rewrite!

It's not very well known, but Mandy is actually responsible for 76% of the recycling that goes on in Kentucky. True, that.
