Hmm, leaving for Oklahoma in the morning. Here's hoping it's a better couple of days than I am expecting. I'm a lil nervous. But maybe that's just that I don't know when I'm going to sleep tonight and I didn't go to sleep last night... and what I need to get done still isn't. ^^;;

There's a mouse behind my desk right now. >.<

I have the flu. >.< I want my mother to come take care of me. ^^;; And, ya know, I have to feel pretty awful to want that.

But see how dedicated I am? Sick or not, I got the rest of Wataru's screencaps up. ^_^v That includes the grease-stained ones.

I took the case off my computer only to discover lots of cobwebs and one lil screw I would need to remove to check the fan--a lil screw that would require taking out the disc drives to reach. >.< Arg.

I think it sounds like a blender... no, like what my coffee grinder must sound like to people in the next apartment... ^^;;

Well, at least I had a birthday without mice. I thought I had the problem solved, but I saw a different mouse today, running from the kitchen into the living room. And now I hear something running around on the other side of the ceiling tiles. >.<

It doesn't make any sense, but I'm also blaming the mice for why my computer suddenly started sounding like someone with bad emphezema on Wednesday. >.< Its fan is just grinding away something awful... so I'm feeling cranky and headachey.

I was working on trying to get an update for the site, but I think I've gotten too cranky for it.

Hmm... now that I've seen the mouse a couple times when he's not in dash mode, he's not black like I thought, just dark brown. I just want to borrow a cat for a day.

Talk about a life that could make you bipolar... I want to dance around because my truck is running again ^__^ (though it still could use a lot of work) and I want to bite things because I just got the letter my student loan went into default. >.< There's plans that I really want to have happen in January and I've been selling some of my DVDs to fund that... ...I might have to consider selling some djs too... ^^;; ...or *shudder* going back to free webhosts.

Mouse update: There's signs that my mouse has discovered where the microwave popcorn is kept--again, I have no idea how he got there. Also, the business office at work has mice now. The candy dishes have been raided and droppings left. ^^

Okay, how is this for hubris? Yesterday evening, after doing the dishes and having no mouse sightings since the morning (and stupidly hoping maybe the damn thing had left), I made some biscuits. I was smart enough to get the biscuits out of mouse reach right away, but the cookie sheet I baked them on was hot and I wanted to let it cool down before I washed it. I left the hot cookie sheet on top of the stove and got online. In less than five minutes, there was mousie on the still warm cookie sheet. >.<

Yesterday was an odd day. In some ways really nice and in other ways frustrating enough to make me homicidal.

Nice:
-My secret pal at work sent me flowers for my bithday. ^_^
-Lots of people told me happy birthday--though they got a bit confused when I kept saying "It's not my birthday."
-The new postage meter machine that was supposed to be up and running last Thursday is finally up and running.
-Someone took me to lunch, she didn't know my birthday was coming up, but then saw the flowers. When we walked into the restaurant, one of the professors was there. She told him we were celebrating my birthday, and he ended up paying for our meal. ^_^ (What was annoying though is when I was telling one of my workers about this. We went to Dragon House, it's just the closest Chinese restaurant. The professor who bought us lunch is Korean. When I told Ed about it, he said, "Well, of course Joon Sik was there, where else would you expect him to eat?" I wanted to slap him silly and give him a lecture. He's getting way too annoying. >.<)
-I finished reading the book my friend sent and it was very good.
-Another coworker and I managed to get my truck to start...

Frustrating:
-...my truck will start with a jump, but even after charging for a while, it won't start on its own.
-The new postage meter is going to take some figuring out, and right now, I can tell that perhaps 2 out of my 5 workers are actually going to have enough common sense to operate it.
-The new postage meter is going to need a lot of setting up before I can run reports on Monday morning. I'll probably have to go in to work on Friday. (On the plus side, that would count as overtime...)
-It seems like all the scary women around here are on my case about getting my hair cut. >.< Scary girl was trying to convince me to shave my head on Monday. (I would look so insanely UGLY with a shaved head, even though some women look fine that way.) (Hmm... I wonder what mousie is doing to make that noise?) Yesterday, the woman that I can't think of a better code name for than big scary dyke, was on my case for having long hair. Neither of them will just accept that I really am bi, that I like bishonen, that I really do like to wear skirts and have hair long enough to put up, and that it's simply none of their business. Grr.

I have to work a half day of work today. My hopes for my birthday/Thanksgiving break are: to get my truck really running, to finish my noncooperative fairytale, and to evict the mouse.

>.< That mouse is going to drive me insane. I bought a clothes hamper at WalMart last night, so my laundry wouldn't be piled on the floor a la Keisuke. So I cleared off the bedroom floor and also threw away the four big empty boxes that were in the kitchen, thinking that I was giving the mouse less hiding places and making the apartment less appealing. Apparently not.

Mousie streaked acrossed the kitchen floor last night as I was about to go make tea while chatting with everyone. I didn't make tea. >.< I slept with the kitchen light on, but still heard suspicious noises.

I don't know how he's getting to the places he's getting. I also vaccumed the bedroom and dusted off the shelves. The only spots where there was anything that looked at all suspiciously like mouse droppings were on the third shelf--under my radio ^^;;--and the fourth shelf, which is about shoulder level on me--and I'm reasonably tall. ^^;; They're smooth plastic shelves, how is he getting up there? I really don't know how he gets on the stove either, but it must be some kind of mousy magic--what really gets me is that there's rice, pasta, potatoes, and bird seed sitting in the kitchen on a shelf that I would think would be much more mouse-friendly, but he's leaving them alone.

As long as he doesn't get in the fridge for my apples and beer. ^^

The mouse in Megan's apartment is leaving dropping in her bathtub every morning. ^^; I don't understand that either. When I still had my little dwarf hamster (Vincent Valentine ;_; ), I let him run around in the tub while I cleaned his cage. He could have tried all day and never gotten out. I'm willing to believe that mice are more acrobatic than even my lil Vincent was, but still... any mouse that is picking up my heavy radio just to shit under it is a mutant even Hojo would be proud of. (I'd name the mouse "Sephiroth," but he's black.)

Oh... when I was brushing my teeth this morning, I saw him in the mirror, a little dark streak dashing from the kitchen to the bedroom not even 3 feet behind me. ^^;

Okay, here's your warning: I am in a rambling mood today. Precede at your own risk.

All the students are gone this week, so work is slower than... um... Keisuke noticing that Kenta is a scary fanboy?

The mouse has declared war. If it would have stayed out of sight--and only made its little "Ha, ha! I'm a mouse and I'm in your kitchen!" noises late at night--I would have been willing to let it be.

There was a mouse in Megan's apartment and a mouse in scary girl's apartment. There was a mouse that made Megan scream when it ran past her in the stairwell. There was a mouse that was running down the stairs and--for some bizarre, mouse-brained reason--leapt from one level of the stairs into the lap of a maintenance worker who was having a smoke break in the stairwell. (Nevermind that it is a non-smoking building.)

And then there was the mouse that was caught in one of the gluetraps the maintenance workers put out after the lap incident. I passed it on my way home Friday evening and could hear its panicked squeaking all the way down the hall to the door of my apartment. ^^;; That's why I really wanted to let my mouse be. A dead mouse in a trap, or a squeaking, dying mouse in a trap is a whole lot worse than a living one... at least in terms of my squeamishness.

But while I was doing my hair in the bathroom (which is right next to the lil kitchen in my apartment) this morning, the mouse decided to make distinct "Ha, ha! I'm a mouse and I'm playing with the empty macaroni box you left on your stove top!" noises. >.< I was not pleased, but not in the mood for a confrontation with my furry lil guest. He or she was in another frame of mind, I guess, because about five minutes later while I'm searching for a matching pair of socks, a small, dark, decidely mousey object streaked past my feet.

At least I didn't scream.

I finished the baby blanket I was making at the request of a coworker. Something else that I'll do for money. ^^; It took me two weeks to make, but since she bought the yarn--and bought way too expensive yarn--I'm only asking her for $25 for it. I finished it last night as I was watching the last of the Magic Knight Rayearth episodes that I downloaded a long time ago. Yet another anime that I am really not satisfied with the ending... and damnit, it would have been nice to see a lil Lantis/Eagle yaoi.

A pattern for the blanket I'm making for someone else finally arrived in the mail. I ordered it online on the first. I thought I could figure it out on my own, but when I finally couldn't, I decided, hell, considering that I've spent $60 on yarn, $2.50 for a pattern isn't going to kill me. It was free shipping for the pattern. The pattern is on one sheet of paper. You'd think that would be slap a 34 cent stamp on an envelope and just send the damn thing. Nope, it comes today in a big envelope--$1.95 shipping--because they stuck a catalog in it too. I'd be pissed about it, but at least it did give me time to finish the baby blanket.

I also got a book that a friend is loaning me, and a box of some dried "botanicals" that I ordered to make some lil Christmas gifts for the ladies at work. (Calling them "botanicals" amuses me, they are just dried flowers and leaves.) The botanicals are trying to kill me, I think. I think it is the lavendar. It's really strong even through a ziploc bag and a box. It's making my nose itch. I know that lavendar can be used to keep moths away. I'm wondering if it would keep mice away... I think I would go crazy if my apartment smelled like too much of it... but...

My fairytale still isn't done. >.< Takeshi just isn't cooperating.

I just got an email from the friend that ditched me for both our Friday and Saturday plans. >.< I know I should be nice about it, but I am just not pleased. She's supposed to take me to the airport next week. If that gets messed up too... I'm going to be tempted to be really bitchy. Our Saturday plans weren't very exciting, I just wanted her to help me jumpstart my truck and then go with me to get it checked... but I would have bought her dinner.

One of the ladies at work has now said she'll come by after work and see if we can't get it to start. Who knows. ^^;; I told scary girl I might end up giving her a call tonight so we can go to WalMart and I can get some mouse poison. That's what we did last Wednesday, except she was buying the poison that time. ^^;; Yeah, kinda disturbing that I go out poison shopping with someone that I really do not want to encourage. Neither of us should drink tea at each other's apartment. ^_~ Never know what's in that special blend.

Okay, enough rambling for a little while.

;_;

Got an e-mail today that one of my parents' dogs died last week and they'd been trying to get me on the phone to tell me "in person" but I haven't been answering my phone. This is the dog we got when I was a junior in highschool. ;_; She was such a sweetie. I use her name as one of my frequent passwords... now I wonder if I'm going to get sad using it.

Scary, crazy lady called again last week. And someone called today...if it wasn't the same lady, it was someone disturbingly like her. ^^;;

I thought scary girl was gone all weekend, but it ends up she came back after ditching work on Friday, but I managed to not be called by her because she wasn't feeling well. Today she's hanging around my desk a lot and telling me that one of the professors seemed to be scared of her. Hmm... ^^

I'm supposed to be working on my Ini-D fairytale, but I am having an awful block about it. Yesterday, I did wake up with a sudden urge to draw Kei as Princess Buttercup. Today I woke up wondering who I would cast in all of the different roles. There's a couple different ways that makes sense to me.

One version would be:
Buttercup: Keisuke
Westley: Ryousuke
Humperdink: ...Kenta (but Kenta's not that evil, is he?)

Or maybe:
Buttercup: Keisuke
Westley: Ryousuke
Humperdink: Takeshi
Count Rugen: Shingo (I do think Shingo would make a good Count...)
Vizzini: (I don't know, but it amuses me to think of Itsuki in that role...)
Fezzik: Seiji-rhino would make a good giant
Inigo: Kyouichi?

Or maybe:
Buttercup: Keisuke
Westley: Takeshi
Humperdink: Kyouichi (He is an "Emperor")
Count Rugen: Seiji
Vizzini: Ryousuke (*snerks*)
Fezzik: ?
Inigo: Kai

Shoot, there's too many possibilities. Inigo is my favorite, so I would really like to see Takeshi in that role... and I want Kei to be the princess, though I could see Takumi as Buttercup too ^^;;

Hoo boy... the crazy lady I mentioned 2 weeks ago showed up on our campus today. ^^;; I guess she was here about 15 years ago when she was a student and had some very scary pyschotic episode and threatened some people. The professor that she threatened is still here (he was one of my favorites) and while on campus today, she managed to scare him silly. ^^;; Never seen him as frazzled as that.

About 15 minutes after she left and we have the head of maintenance getting ready to patrol the grounds and see if she left campus or only my building, she calls. (Oh, she also called on Monday or Tuesday of this week... I think I have her voice permanently in my mind as "scary lady voice.") She asks for that professor, but she doesn't want to talk to him in person, she just wants his voicemail. ^^;; (This is what she was asking for earlier in the week, she was pissed at the dean because the dean refused her request to let her join the class that is going to Mexico in January. So she wanted me to transfer her to him, but not him, his voicemail... actually she called twice, because the first time she talked so long to the dean's voicemail that it disconnected her. ^^;;)

Yeah...

Hmm... I don't remember if I mentioned that most of the people working for me are not straight... (but 2 of them are still getting married to people of the opposite sex >.< ) I was having a theory that somehow they must be drawn to me by mysterious forces... (I was kinda hoping the 2 guys that will be marrying women soon would get together... they'd be a really cute couple...)

Well, anyhow... made another mistake. One of the girls asked me up for pizza the other night and that was kind of fun and tonight she was there when crazy lady was there and so we were talking about that and I asked if she wanted to get something to eat (because my truck isn't running and I will buy people food if they help me get away from here sometimes). Bought her dinner and managed not to notice any warning signs until we're watching TV in her apartment and she asks if that was just dinner or a date. ^^;; And it would have been okay... except I didn't know that she was entirely serious and so I was just a lil flustered and said just dinner. And a little later she said she was disappointed it wasn't more.... and then a little later asked me what would happen if she asked me out. Arg

I am so bad about handling something that clueless me thought was just friends...

I have got to stop hanging out with the students that work for me, even though I live on campus and just graduated from here myself. ^^;;

Arg...

In other news, I'm slowly working on a short PWP Kei/Take... and I'm hoping November is a better month than October was.
