God he was drunk when i took this photo. He sat down for me to take the photo, not sure if it was out of courtesy or that he just couldnt stand still for 10 seconds. It's Damo from Metro Riots, very friendly and the lead singer of a very very very good band. He also seems to be some kind of Annie promo sticker magnet too.

Some very grubby shoes here. Clearly a man of action. They are on the feet of Keith from The Fallingovers and Art Goblins, as well as the thousand other bands he's in. He's a man of many talents, being known to play the violin, the melodica, the tambourine and the penny whistle all in one gig. Very clever.

This gentleman was looking very smart in a shirt, tie and jacket when I saw him so I was kinda hoping for some smart Chelsea boots to break our trainer trend but no such luck. These are however some very sparkly shoes and he did do a bit of a jig in them before I took the photo.

The careful owner of these shoes is Paul Smith from Maximo Park. They're named after a park in Cuba, I don't think he's been in many parks in these shoes though, no mud anywhere to be seen.

This is a manwho once did an in-chair performance at Reading after the dangerous sport of cleaning baths left him with back injuries. It is of course, Les "Fruitbat" Carter, from Carter Usm.

He's in a new band called Abdoujaparov who are apparently named after the Usbek cyclist Djamolidine Abdoujaprov. Yeah, I don't know much about cycling either. Anyways, he's worked on the new Rhesus album and was incredibly nice to me.

Another pair of converses? Give it a couple of weeks and we'll have their entire colour range up here. Should ask for sponsorship really. These red beauties belong to James from the noisy south west london boys The Fades. He was wearing a beautiful lumberjack style shirt at the time, its a shame its not a shirts site.

Shiny shoes for a shiny band. This is Rebekah of the really really brilliant Ciccone . They don't sound the same as Sleeper at all but they make me do the same dance that i used to do about my room as a very very young teenage girl to 'the it girl'. Think of being 15 with drink in one hand, eyeliner in the other attempting to look grubby but glam before heading out to shimmy through the night.

This is such a brilliant shoe, it is really falling apart. It is about to fall off the foot of Douglas from Chineapples. I'm not allowed to say he's permanently drunk, though he's in a bar in this photo, so the argument for him not being a drunkard isn't really that strong.

For true rock n roll spirit he gets top marks from Popstar Feets but for practicality and glamour I think he might have a bit of competition.

Hurrah. We didn't make it four pairs of converse trainers in a row. There are some people out there with a brain after all.

Today is the lovely, spindly Stu Plimsoles. Another for our indie boy DJ collection, Stu is the guy who inspires long games of 'how many songs can you name tonight? at Artrocker each week and for the more late night party creatures of you all, is the spinny spinny man at Club Hell Yeah!. They're good shoes too, I like boots.

These are the shoes of the prettiest boy in here to date and also by far and away the noisiest boy in here so far. From "spaz-core" chaos makers Test-icicles, this is the Ashton Kutcher lookalike Sam Mehran. And of course, I don't fancy him. He's beautiful, talented, reasonably clean shoes... horrid really.

Though Tim Wheeler pipped them to the post for the acclaimed title of 'first irish band on Popstar Feets', The Chalets are worthy of a mention nonetheless. Named after their joyful, cider ridden stay in All Tomorrow's Parties' cosy dwellings, this 2 girl & 3 boy line up are quoted as "combining guitar pop with seventies overblown prog". Thats a good thing I promise.

What we have here are the shoes of all the Chalet boys - Chris, Enda and Dilbot. Our first threesome too...

Ah, another double whammy. Today brings the grubby shoes of Ed and James, the DJ supremos from The Rock n Roll Idiots. I'd been teasing Ed via the wonder of messageboards the same day that i took the photo that I'd track him down for a shoe shot. I think he was more than a little surprised at my speed in getting him. The left shoes are Ed, the grubbier ones on the right are James.

But it gets better, not only are these two dj party wizards but Ed is also in The Fallingovers, and James is also in the brilliant The Rocks. It gets more exciting still...for the more curious of you, the shoes are the bottom are me and the lone shoe on the right is Mr Swish's. A veritable shoe party.

Oooohhh...gaffa tape. The shambolic shoes of the shambolic Dave from Dustin's Bar Mitzvah. Only a man who, when on stage, looks like an 8 year old on too much coffee and crack, could have his entire right foot covered in gaffa. He was concerned that he wasn't enough of a popstar to have his photo taken, but this man oozes more pop fun than Kylie's left arse cheek. A true lunatic.

Ah, the man of my dreams, the delectable mr eddie argos of Art Brut. Bumped into in the wee hours of the night in Brick Lane, eddie bucked the shoe trend and braved the cold january pavement in his gorgeous, albeit hole ridden, tartan socks. A beautiful ballet pose too, just makes me want to take him home, darn his socks and feed him cocoa.

These are by far and away the prettiest shoes so far, and obviously the shiniest. These glam dancing pins belong to Vicki, the guitarist/singer of the beautiful and fun all girl band The Schla La Las.

If I were a kitten looking for a space to sleep I'd definitely choose these shoes.

I love tuesdays. This blustery tuesday brings you the stunning shoes of the equally stunning Mr Rory Phillips.

Another boy in need of ownership of a bit of polish maybe, but we’ll let this indie dj boy off on that one maybe. he does dj at trash and 21st century bodyrockers, they’re quite grubby places, so all is forgiven.

He's in a band too, the pups, they have a website – so if you want to spoil the fun and see what he looks like go here The Pups Site. if not, then don’t, be strong and resistant, and gaze at these shoes below...

day two and three new pairs of beautiful feet, i treat you too well.

The Dustin's Bar Mitzvah gig at the notting hill arts club was clearly the place to be seen last night. not only the crazy looking, mr strokes producer, Gordon Raphael, but also nearly all of Coldplay and Tim Wheeler! all my MOR indie cravings satisfied in one juicy chunk of shoes.

mr raphael was lovely and when told about the site jumped onto the nearby bench to show off his (slightly scuffed) shoes. 10/10 for enthusiasm, maybe 6/10 for shoe polishing skills.

Gordon Raphael

a sumptuous picture of both mr martin and mr wheeler's shoes will be added when technical complications with cameras have been conquered.

right. woohoo. all problems now overcome. the wait is over. the adidas on the left are those of chris and the very very cool green boots on the right are tim's. they're the best shoes so far me thinks.

Popstar Feets is a beautiful blog featuring pictures that I've taken each week of the shoes of all your favourite indie pop stars. People are caught at gigs, on the street, anywhere really. Its updated weekly with new photos for your shoe gazing habits. Gasp at the glamour, sigh at the scuffs and laugh at the laces

If you're out and about and see/know any celebs, grab their shoe clad feet, grab a camera and snap away. Email it in and I'll promise to put it up. Although I do only put up the photo of the shoes, I will need a photo of the chosen pop boy or pop girl's face for verification. Go go go…
