- *sigh*
I hate my dad.
I know, it's harsh. But I really do.
He doesn't appreciate me at all! Granted, I don't really appreciate him as well, but that's beside the point. Well, let me tell you why, so you won't think I'm some ungreatful daughter.
See, we were discussing my propsects of graduating a 'cum laude'. I was saying that more than half of the graduates of our college have a 'laude' status of some sort. This is because our college has very strict retention requirements. Not to mention that majority of the people in my college are what we call grade-conscious (or GC, for short).
So anyway, my dad suddenly made this comment. "Well, if you put it that way, then graduating a 'cum laude' isn't really that impressive, is it?"
I'm telling you, my blood began to boil when he said that. I can't really explain it. It's like, he was telling me that no matter what I do, I will never live up to his expectations. Of course, he didn't say that directly but that was the impression I got.
He also said something along the lines of, "How come your friends can achieve the status of 'summa cum laude' and you can't?"
Well, I'm _sorry_, it just so happens that I'm _me_ and not my friends. Gee, dad, sorry I'm not the _perfect_ daughter.
GRRRR!!!!
All right, I admit, I didn't do my best during college but what's the use of thinking about that now? In about 6 months, I'll be graduating already. It's not like I can turn back time and try to ace all my subjects. And besides, what's the use of getting the highest grades if you don't enjoy what you do anyway?
*sigh* I hate this. Given that I myself have pretty high expectations for myself, I can't help but get angry when I'm compared to other people. The reason why God created us all differently is because we _are_ different from each other. What good is it to have a while planet-ful of geniuses? And like I tell my friends, how is an organization gonna run smoothly if it's composed of only leaders? If that's the case, then it's like having a body with 10 different heads. It wouldn't know where to go since it has to listen to 10 different opinions. An oganization also needs effective and efficient followers, right? Otherwise, who would follow the leaders?
I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm not a leader. I can accept that. But then, I also know I would make a pretty damn good follower. Just because you're a follower doesn't make you any less human or any less intelligent than a leader. It just means that you work better when someone supervises you. So what if I never become the CEO of a large company? I don't care. As long as I get a good job, one where I can earn enough for myself and my family, and one where I enjoy what I do. I'll be satisfied with that.
Well, anyway, I just wanted to get this off my chest. I'm not usually this... angry, so I hope you can bear with me. I'll be off now. Ja.

- House of Flying Daggers
Ahh... it held so much promise. If only it had delivered. Well, it did, but not fully. And that's ultimately what disappointed me. The movie was half-baked. *sigh*
Granted, I watch movies to be entertained and not to gain any real cultural or spiritual value from it. Hehehe. Even then, I still have my basic requirements for a good movie. Good acting for one. A plot for another. Beautiful costumes and cinematography also comes into play.
With this movie, I got the impression that everything was done half-heartedly. Though I know that, generally, those involved give their all to do the project, for some reason, I didn't enjoy it much. First, there's the acting. The Takeshi guy is cute, let's get that out of the way first. *wry grin* Anyway, given that, he plays the role well, (he's Jin in the movie) in terms of the playboy, flirty aspect of his role. Unfortunately, when it came to the serious, drama aspect... well, let's just say he should stick to the playboy, flirty part.
Andy Lau. What can I say. He's Andy Lau. He does cry well, looks really natural when doing so, as opposed to Takeshi who makes crying look like a real chore. But his face seemed to have a limited amount of expressions available. It's like his facial muscles have been frozen in place. I dunno. *shrug*
Zhang Ziyi. Now she's a convincing blind person, if you ask me. I don't know why those reviewers say she doesn't know how to play a blind person. She was really good at it, but the script itself called for her to do some things that a blind person could never do. I don't care how good her hearing is. There's no way a blind person can gallop away on a horse in the woods. There's just too much noise in there, not too mention trees that you can run into, since you can't see if they're already in front of your horse. It wasn't her fault, blame the script writer.
One thing I liked very much was the costumes of the people in the House of Flying Daggers. I mean the organization itself and not the movie as a whole. They remind me of the elves in Lord of the Rings, except that these guys/gals are Chinese, they carry daggers instead of bows and arrows, and they live in a bamboo forest instead of a true forest. But I tell you, if you see them, you'll instantly say, "Oooohhh!!! Elves!!!" Hehehe. I dunno. I have a thing for elves. *shrug* Sue me. =)
Speaking of the House, it's part of why this movie disappointed me. Sorry, spoiler ahead. Don't read if you don't want spoilers. See, near the ending, it shows the Chinese soldiers/police (whatever) on their way to attack the House HQ. This was shown in the midst of the Takeshi/Andy duel. But while the duel was fought till the end, the attack on the House was not shown at all. It's like the movie creators/producers (whatever) is saying, "Well, we're too lazy to add any more to this movie. Go ahead and think of your own ending. We don't care if you want the house to be destroyed or not. That depends on you." There's no closure!!! I guess some people will like this type of hanging ending, but I certainly didn't. Neither did my best friend who watched it with me.
Hmmm... well, can't think of anything more to complain about. Actually, I did like the fight scenes, and the effects, especially the flying daggers. It doesn't hurt that I happen to like dangerous weapons. Hehehe. But anyway, I tell you, the sight of that dagger sticking out Andy's back, is enough to make your day. Happy viewing!

- FL spree!!
Lolz. Just as the title says, I've been on another FL binge. I'm acutally not done yet but I've already uploaded the new ones I've joined or planning to join by tomorrow.
On another note, changed my image host to ImageShack coz I've been having trouble uploading images to my previous host. Understandably, it was a free host so I shouldn't complain. Hehehe. Anyway, that's done now.
Gotta go! Gotta watch Detective School Q!

- Free food!
Nyahahaha!!! Nothing really compares to getting free food. ^_^ Of course, I fell that I deserved that food so it's not exactly free. See, we just had our final exam for our tax class this afternoon and out professor treated us to dinner at... er... *sweatdrop* I seem to have forgotten the name of the place. Lolz. Anyways, it's an Italian restaurant, so obviously, we had pizza and pasta. Really delicious too.
What I meant about feeling that I deserved the treat is because we worked damn hard for it. Why do I say so? I'll let you be the judge of that. Here is the contents of our exam this afternoon. First off, there's the 30 questions consisting of multiple choice and modified true or false. Modified true or false, in the sense that you are given two statement along with 4 choices of true-true, true-false, false-true, and false-false. This is quite difficult because you really have to know for sure the truth or falsity (is this even a word? *sdrop*) of both statements before getting a correct answer for only one number.
Next is 40 short problems. There are actually some problems that consists of 2-3 questions so there were probably about 15 or so problems in all. Following this is 30 items of enumeration, which includes 8 numbers that requires us to give 2 VAT exemptions per number. That's 16 exemptions out of a possible 26. Can you believe it?
If you've been counting, then you probably already know that there are exactly 100 items, which means that each item is only worth 1 point. Just imagine, we really had to work for each individual point. Also, I'd like to inform you that our passing grade is 65 out of 100. I'm really just aiming to pass this subject. I don't expect to get a high grade at all.
So there. Let's just say that the free dinner wasn't really free after all. But I did enjoy it. ^_^

- Heh. =)
Well.... I confess. I went on a fanlist joining spree again. Lolz. I think I joined, what, 2 dozen or so. But then, that's how I get my kicks. Much healthier than going out and getting drunk, ne. ^_^
Hmm, forgot to mention that I had my graduation picture pictorial last Saturday, the 9th. I had my picture taken in a toga, a 'sablay, and in pajamas. The toga is simple enough, ne. The 'sablay' getup is what we'll be wearing on our graduation day. It's basically just a colorful cloth that we wear over one shoulder. Sorta like the ones Scots wear. I guess it's difficult to picture but I just don't feel like posting my pic here. Hehehe. Anyways, the cloth is worn over a white or off-white dress. As to the pajamas, I wore that because of the creative shot. See, all of us have our choice of creative shot to be included in the yearbook. It's like a candid shot wherein you can wear and do anything you like.
Eep! Battery getting low. Gotta go now. Till next post!

- Earthquake!
There was an earthquake last Friday at around 10:55 PM. I don't read the papers much so I have no idea how strong it actually was. Hehehe. But it seemed pretty powerful to me. See, we live in a wooden house and the whole house was creaking so much from the force of the quake that I thought it just might fall apart or something. And it lasted for a while too. Pretty scary stuff. ^_^

- Yay!
Just found out that I got a 1.25 for both my Law and Econ subjects. Hehehe. Which also means that I no longer have to take the final exams. Woohoo!! In case you didn't know, in my university, the highest grade is a 1.0 while barely passing is a 3.0. I'm currently just waiting for my grades in my marketing class and information resource class. I still have to take my Tax exam next wednesday, though.
Hmm.. nothing much this time. Just wanted to share my joy. Lolz.

- Nyahahaha!!!
Yes, yes, you heard (or at least, read) it right! G-chan is baaaaaaaaack!! Lolz.
Overreacting again, I know, but I can't help it. I'm just soooo damn happy that my semester is over already. *sigh* Ahh... the bliss of having nothing to do for one whole month. But then again, I have to worry about the coming semester, wherein I will have to take the notoriously difficult killer subject known as BA 123. Sounds deceptively simple, right, but it's really not. It's been known to reduce otherwise normal young men and women to a pile of tearful goo, or something similarly indistinguishable. It seems I am destined to end up that way as well. Oh well... *shrug*
Hmmm... it seems Choco has moved her blog. Note to self, "Must update links." Nice to see you, too, Choco. ^_^ Glad you still remember me after... a while. Lolz.
On another note, I'm still obssessing about what phone to buy next. I'm currently considering the Samsung E700 but I will need to buy the data cable if I want to transfer pics and stuff. I wonder how much that'll cost me, if ever. Plus I have to keep within my budget. *sigh* Anyway, I won't be buying the phone until March so I still have about 5 months to think about it some more. And who knows, new phones might just come out again. ^_^

- I'm Alive!!!
I know, I know, it seemed like I just vanished from the face of the planet because I haven't been around in a LOOOOOOOONG time. But, guess what? I'm still alive!! Nyahahaha!!
Bees much too busy though. Still am, but a bit more free time for me now. Once this semester ends I'm gonna go back to updating my site. *sigh* Much as I wanted to take care of both my blog and my site, my schedule just wouldn't permit it. Darn academics. Why didn't I just enroll in an easier course, right? But what can I do, I'm already in my last year. Might as well just see it through and get it over with. No use complaining, ne. ^_^
I'm still waiting for Animax to bring back the original voices of the characters. As of the moment, I only religiously watch Detective School Q, even though it's dubbed. For some reason, the voices there are not as irritating as in the other anime. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I like detective shows, plus, I've never seen DSQ before. *shrug* Anyway, I'm not gonna analyze it further. =) I'll just wait till Thursday and enjoy the show.
Ok, me gonna catch up on my sleep now. Till next time!

- Bring back our subbed anime!!
All right guys, I'm not normally a petition-signer, but I'm making an exception in this case. This is just to important, you see.
So anyways, it came to my attention that there's a petition for Animax to bring back the original Jap voices and English subs. It's at http://www.petitiononline.com/animaxsu/petition.html and I'd really, really appreciate it if you guys could sign and spread the word.
This is for the good of all anime-hood. ^_^

- Busy, Busy
ARRGGHH!!! It's been horribly busy for me these past few weeks. What with cases coming due one on top of the other, not to mention exams and other requirements. I swear, these pofessors are out to make our lives a living hell. Ugh.
Sorry, haven't been updating my blog in a while. See above for explanation. ^^; I've been meaning to change my layout since the beginning of August, but with all that's been happening, I just haven't found the time yet. However, I have already found a suitable layout. ^_^
Hmm... Glomp! has become stagnant as well. But well, anything that clutters my real life gets transalated into a dead internet life. *sigh* Actually, I've been thinking about this. If I can't find time to update my blog and site, does this mean that I'm not passionate enough about them? Maybe I'm really not, but that doesn't mean they're not important to me. Confusing, ne. Lolz. Don't worry about it, I'm even confusing myself.

- Case Report
*Sigh* I have this report tomorrow for my Marketing class. I hate my Marketing class!! My prof has got to be the most boring prof in the world. Considering that it's Marketing, it's supposed to be fun and exciting, right? But no! We just HAD to get the worst prof ever to walk the earth.
Oh well, better go get ready now. Have to memorize my part of the report. ^^; Lolz, just kidding.
