- Hiatus?

Err... yeah, I'm on unofficial hiatus. Hehehe. Unofficial because I might come by sporadically to post a meaningless entry like this one. *sdrop*

Anyway, I WILL try to make an entry as often as possible. It's just that I get so lazy sometimes. Oh, all right, I admit it. I'm always lazy. ^_^

Maa, I hope you guys will continue dropping by, ne. See ya!

- Busy

Sorry, long no post. Classes have started again so I'm once again swamped. Imagine, we have 2 quizzes per session for our accounting subject. Yikes.

Anyways, shall write more next time. Got to go now. Ja!

- Movie Reviews

I have watched two movies during the weekend so I'll be having my reviews here. Granted, I'm not exactly a professional reviewer, but I'll tell you what I think about them anyway. Nyahahha!!

So anyway, the first movie I saw was on Saturday, starring Denzel Washington. Yup, it's The Manchurian Candidate. It's basically a conspiracy theory kind of movie. Of course, some people get killed and there are lots of hush-hush stuff going on. Not to mention some parts have the feel of a horror movie that somehow got lost inside the movie itself.

I initially thought that the word "Manchurian" in the title referred to the place called Manchuria in China. Turns out it's a (and this part I don't really get so pardon me if I have it wrong) huge company or something that supports several politicians in America and other countries. I don't really get this and I don't particularly care. *sdrop*

Well, I can't say much more coz I'd end up giving away the twist in the plot. There are some quite disturbing scenes in this movie and I had to look away from the screen several times. I kid you not. Granted, I've never had a strong stomach so I guess it'll depend on how queasy you are. ^_^

All right, I'll make this quick. Have to sleep early coz I have to go and register myself for school tomorrow. Second movie is First Daughter starring Katie Holmes. I saw this today, actually.

It's almost a remake of "Chasing Liberty", not only the fact that she's the daughter of the president but er.. I dunno if I should tell you this, coz it's supposed to be the "twist". Let's just say there's a lot of "Chasing Liberty"-like scenes here.

I didn't really like it much, but I do feel that the makers somehow wanted to make this one more profound or more mature than "Chasing Liberty" because of some of the lines and stuff. In all fairness, I found myself feeling really sorry for her. Like Kaite's character says in the movie, "I didn't choose this. No one elected me." (or something similar, I forgot the actual lines. *shrug*) She doesn't want to be the first daughter. She just wants to be "normal". How sad. Isn't it funny how people always want what they don't have? Well, not really funny, but you get my drift.

I guess the saying "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" is true for everyone, no matter how rich, popular, pretty, or (insert other adjectives here) you are. I feel better about myself now. *grins*

- Alert! Alert!

Ack! It's back to school time! Gonna go and register on Monday. Classes also start on Tuesday. Not to mention we have this horrible diagnostic test for our Accounting subject on Thursday. Argh! I have to study!!

*sigh* Well, I'll have to hang in there since this IS my (hopefully) last semester and all. But it's so damn hard!

Anyway, I had the stitches on my thumb removed today. It hurt like hell when the doctor was pulling the threads out of my skin but I just gritted my teeth. I tell you, I broke out into a cold sweat from the pain. Admittedly, I have a prejudice against pain. I hate pain. I could possibly tolerate some level of pain but that doesn't mean that I like it.

Let's switch to another topic now. ^_^ My sister just sent over the first season of The Apprentice on DVD. Whee! I've been watching it and I'm in the sixth episode now. I have to say, the two people who really gets on my nerves are Sam and Omarosa. Good thing Sam's out of the picture already. Now I have to see when Omarosa's gonna get booted out. And I do know she's gonna get fired coz I happen to have watched one episode near the end once, and of the five people remaining, Omarosa wasn't there. Mwahahaha!!!

- Sherrilyn Kenyon

This woman is my idol. Lolz. I have only read one of her books and I am already hooked. And to think I only got hold of that particular book by chance. See, I have this habit of browsing through second-hand bookstores. I happened to see her book, read a few pages, and decided to buy it. At the time, I think I bought it for less than a dollar. (I forgot, coz I always remove the price sticker immediately after buying a book.)

Anyway, she has this amazing site that tells you all about the charcaters in the world she created. It's at http://www.hunterlegends.com. I HAVE to get my hands on her books!

- Back to the Doctor's Office

Yeah, I have to go back tomorrow to have the dressing changed and probably to inspect the stitches or something. It itches a bit sometimes but I can't scratch it since the bandages are so thick, I can only feel a bit of pressure if I press hard enough.

I can't wait for the bandages to come off so I can finally take a proper bath again. You won't believe how hard it is to take a bath with only your left hand. My teeth are also suffering, since I can't brush propwely using my left hand.

On another note, I have already re-uploaded my site. ^_^ Lots of new fics added coz I'm on vacation so I have time. I've been wanting to add more but FFN isn't cooperating. For some reason, the authors' email addresses won't show up so now I have no way of contacting them. I'll have to find a way, though. If there's a will, there's a way, so they say.

- Surgery

Well, I had my surgery today. Oh, don't worry, it wasn't major, just removal of a small benign tumor in my right thumb. Initially, the doctor said it was a tendon cyst but when he has already taken it out, he realized that it was actually a benign tumor. He's having it analyzed and I'll know the results by next week, I think.

So, I can't really move my thumb much now and I can't get it wet either. It's really a bummer coz I dunno how I'll be able to take a decent bath now. And I have to keep it dry for around 2 weeks. Oh well, I'll just have to cope.

The operation itself lasted for only about 30 minutes. I was awake the whole time because they only applied a local anesthesia to my thumb area. Of course, I didn't look while they were operating. Blood grosses me out. Lolz. I didn't feel a thing during the operation. Heck, the application of the anesthesia hurt more coz of the needle.

This is my first operation ever and it's exciting, to some extent, but I definitely won't be looking forward to any further operations anytime in the future.

- Birthdays!

It seems I have quite a few friends who celebrate their birthdays in October. There'a about 5 of them, and that's only from Friendster. Who knows how many others are out there that I don't know about. Must investigate this further.

On another note, we're going to Enchanted Kingdom on Sunday! It's really not that big a thing to get excited over but I've been cooped up in this house for a few weeks now and any excuse to go out is exciting news for me. Hehehe. And anyway, I'll be able to ride the bumber cars again, plus those water rides I like so much. ^_^ I only hope my family won't be killjoys and refuse to ride anything.

Whee!! Enchanted Kingdom!!

- Got a haircut!

Actually, I got my hair cut last Tuesday but forgot to say anything about it. Lolz. It'a back to its short length now. I can't really describe it but it's not a bob. Ever since I was in elementary, I've wanted to have long hair. Unfortunately, my hair is very thick and not very manageable so whenever it reaches about shoulder-length, I end up having it cut again. Another reason would be that it's really hot to have long hair. It doesn't match my body chemistry coz I'm a person who sweats very easily.

*sigh* I guess I'll have to live with the fact that I'll never have beautiful long hair. Just another disappointment in my life.

I'd like to say that I probably won't be able to upload the new layout of Glomp! by the end of this week. I got a little side-tracked with the editing and stuff but definitely, it'll be up before the end if next week. It has to be, because once classes start again, I won't have time to update regularly.

So there. Gotta do some work now. Till next entry!

- Starstruck and other stuff

Right, first things first. I think I know one of the girls in Starstruck. For those who aren't from the Philippines, Starstruck is this reality-based show wherein teenagers are trained to become actors/actresses and in the end, there will only be one male and one female winner.

Anyway, I've been having this nagging feeling since Monday that one of the girls, specifically LJ, looked really familiar. Then I read in the papers that she is currently a 4th year high school student at MY old high school. I also learned that her 'LJ' stood for Lourna Jean, I'm not sure about the spelling.

I guess you're thinking, heck, that girl's probably 5 years younger than me, how could I possibly know her? Here's the thing, I used to be an officer for the Star Scouts. The Star Scouts are basically girl scouts from the 1st to 3rd grade. That was back when I was in my 2nd and 3rd year in high school. I did the math and came to the conclusion that it IS highly possible that this LJ used to be one of the girls I handled back than.

I know, I know, it's really not that big a deal but well, I was just surprised, initially. But now that I think about it, I do recall seeing her again once, when she was in 6th grade, I think. I was already in college then but my high school friends and I went to our old high school's annual Mini-Fair. I saw her there and she was all glammed up. I guess even back then she was already entertaining dreams of stardom.

Ok, on to other stuff. I'm currently updating my site, Glomp! Yay! Nothing major, just in the process of changing the layout, which is why you'll see a hiatus sign if you go there right now. It's slow work but I'm getting there. The reason why it's taking so long is because I do a lot of OC stuff over it. (OC, by the way, means obssessive-compulsive. My friends and I use that term to refer to people who are basically perfectionists. In this case, I'm just OC about the html of my pages. *shrug* To each her own. ^^)

I guess I'll be able to put it back up by the end of the week. I'm also looking for new fics to put in there. I've noticed that they're mostly lemons. Hehehe. Well, I can't write lemons myself, which must be why I'm so starved for them. Oh well, I'll try to look for non-lemon ones also, especially funny ones since I can't write humor as well. Now that I think about it, I don't write anything very well at all but at least I can churn out decent angst fics once in a while. ^_^

Hmmm... what next... Oh, in case you didn't notice, I've archived already. Hehehe. The last page was getting too long so I really had to. I hope I remember to put the link up for it. *makes a note*

Also, I'd like to thank Ashley, who appeared out of nowhere, like an angel, in fact, to offer words of encouragement. I really appreciate that, girl. Good luck to you. ^_^

By the way, Ashley is offering to host blogs, but you have to do your own layouts if you want her to host you. Unfortunately for me, I only use linkware so I can't apply. *sheepish* For more info, visit her site. I linked to her in the previous paragraph. *points up*

That's it, I guess. I'd just like to add, if anyone wants to read my rant about my dad yesterday, or is interested in my opinion about the movie House of Flying Daggers, visit the most recently archived page, k. ^_^ Bye!
