- Eeks!

*clears throat*

Ok, so I guess I'm back. Again. *sdrop* I do seem to have a knack for disappearing for months (years) at a time and completely neglecting my blog. Doesn't say much about me, huh?

But well, this blog still exists so might as well make use of it. In the meantime, I guess I'll update my FLs (again) and try to find a new layout. Although I still love this cute elvish design, it's time for something new. Hopefully, it'll be soon. =) More details on my life in next post!

- R-18

That's the rating given to The Da Vinci Code movie here in the Philippines. I think it's much too severe a rating to give a thriller but then again, I don't really care much since I'm way past 18 already and can watch whatever I want. Nyahaha!! I'll probably watch it next week since I'm going out of town for the weekend.

Incidentally, hi Reeza! How are you doing? You're still in school, right? Sorry, it's been a long time since I assumed my cyber identity so my memory's more or less not reliable anymore. =)

- The Da Vinci Code Controversy

It really gets on my nerves, the way these self-righteous politicians and "holy men" have been trying to get the movie banned. I mean, come on, it's a thriller, not a documentary. It's not even CLAIMING to be a documentary. It's not like people will watch the movie and come out of the cinemas going "I knew it! Jesus was no God!" or something similar. Please. Give the people some credit. We still possess that grey mass called a BRAIN and we still use them, to some extent. Although I'm not sure if these politicians and "holy men" have used theirs in a while.

All right, I admit I'm sorta biased since I've read the book and I positively love it. I'm looking forward to watching the movie. So does that mean I believe that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had kids? The answer is NO. I don't believe that. But then, that's just me. See, that's the beauty of being human. We're entitled to our own thoughts and opinions. We can believe what we want and no one can force their beliefs and opinions on us.

So to those "concerned citizens" who want to "protect" the impressionable minds of the innocent and naive from the "evil and blasphemous" movie..... don't. Let them be, let them think for themselves. That's what their brains are for.

- It's Alive!

- The Rich and the Nasty

No, it;s not some twisted Fairy Tale. This is pretty much as real as you can get. It has something to do with what happened to my cousin. Or rather, something that happened as a consequence of his actions.

It all started when my cousin got into a fight at work. I don't know all the details, seeing as I wasn't there at the time, but it seems the other guy (the guy who got beat up) works at the same hotel but in another department. Now this guy would often eat at the hotel restaurant (where my cousin works) and would always complain about the food. Anyway, I guess my cousin got fed up, though I have no idea why. It's not like he's the owner or the cook. He's like a head waiter there or something. So on that fateful day, my cuz had had enough and went to the other guy's department to confront him. Again, I am mystified. I mean, if you're going to attack the guy, might as well do it in your own turf right? But apprently, my cuz didn't really plan on beating the guy up. He was probably just gonna yell at him. Ok, if you say so.

So, anyway, it all ends up with the other guy getting beat up by my cuz. Nothing major, if the rumors are true. Just a bloody lip and temple. Maybe a few bruises here and there. My cuz ends up getting suspended from work for 15 days while the other guy did not. Now, I am not condoning my cuz's actions but I do believe that both of them should've been suspended. I doubt anyone in their right mind would just randomly beat up another guy for the heck of it.

And what do you know. Turns out this guy is the son of my aunt's long-time friend. (This aunt is not my cuz's mother.) Now, this aunt of mine is like the busybody of the family. She then ends up being caught in the middle of it all. My cuz's mom asks her to act like a sort of mediator, since the other guy's mom is my aunt's friend. But then, the friend didn't seem to want to have anything to do with the matter and always passes it over to her husband, James. I'm not afraid to say his name coz I think he's as A-hole. More on that later.

Again, I dunno all the details coz I'm not a principal party. All I know is that the A-hole husband insisted on making a mountain out of a molehill. Instead of just talking about it and compromising like the adults they're supposed to be, he resorts to threats and such. He threatened to have my cuz imprisoned coz of the incident. He even pulled some strings with one of the hotel managers, I guess to get my cuz fired from his job.

But then, my cuz's mom does something that is really just stupid. She calls up the A-hole and makes a statement that she'll just pay for any damages and expenses the other guy's family might incur. HELLO!!! The other guy's family is, like, a thousand times wealthier than they are. And even though I know my cuz is the more guilty party, she shouldn't have done that. Now the A-hole is mocking her by saying that he had already filed a case against my cuz and they should just wait for the subpoena. Predictably, my aunt started shaking in her imaginary boots. She calls my busybody aunt to set up a meeting with the other guy's family.

As it turns out, the A-hole (this is the other guy's father, just to remind you) wanted money. He mocked my cuz's mom saying "I wonder just how much you can pay". Prick. Anyway, in the end he asked for 30,000 pesos. That's about... er.... oh just divide it by 56 to get the dollar amount.

It's difficult to convey all the disgustingly shallow things the A-hole has said and done thia past few weeks. Mere words won't do justice to his despicable acts. I wonder how he sleeps at night. I wanted to tell my busybody aunt, if you ever socialize with the A-hole and your worthless friend again, then let's just forget we're family. I mean, how someone can keep calling people like these friends is beyond me. The wife (who's my aunt'e friend) didn't even do anything. She never talked to her husband about being lenient or something. No.... she just prefered to stay out of the picture.

Ugh, my fingers are getting tired just typing this. And it's not even worth the effort. Sorry guys, just felt like ranting a bit. The world is unfair, isn't it. The A-holes get the money while us honest folks get the grief. Oh well, like they say, the world is round. One minute you're on top and the next you could be at the bottom. I hope they hit rock bottom in my lifetime. I'd laugh in their faces.

- Yes! Sharapova's in the Semis

Oh gosh, I was so worried about her not making it coz she really seemed to be struggling in her game today. Granted, Petrova was a pretty good player, which probably contributed to the 2 1/2 hour match.

Anyway, she did make it, though with some difficulty. I hope she gets her game back real quick coz her next opponent will be Kim Clijsters. Kim is pretty good, too. Not to mention she's way bulkier than Maria is. I dunno if that's a good thing. If Maria can use that bulk against Kim, then all the better.

I also found out that Amelie Mauresmo, my other favorite ^_^ is going against Mary Pierce in the QF. I hope she gets into the semis too. On the bad side, if both Amelie and Maria make it to the finals, I wouldn't know who to cheer for. But then, I'll feel really bad if either one of them loses in the semis match. Oh well, I'll have to find out what happens in Amelie's match against Mary.

- Yawn!

Nothing new, really. Just thought I'd make an entry today since it's been a while since the last one. I've also edited a couple of FLs that have moved.

I'm very bored with my life right now. In about a month I'll be taking the CPA board exams yet I can't seem to make myself study. I do admit, I am one lazy person. *sdrop* I dunno, I just have no motivation. It just seems so... pointless. I mean you study, then you graduate, then you work. Why? Because we want money. Why do we want money? Because we want to buy things. Why do we want these things? Because they make us happy. But do they really? Don't answer that.

Anyway, I'm not depressed, really. Just bored. I hope I get something to do with my life in the future. In the near future. Before I die of boredom.

- FL Overhaul

Whew! It's really difficult to keep up-to-date with all the FLs I have in here. A lot of them have already changed URLs without me knowing and I had to track them down. Thank heavens for TFL.org and AFL.org. There are a few that doesn't seem to exist anymore but I haven't removed them yet so that the arrangement of the codes won't get messed up. I'm just particular that way, I guess. *shrug*

Tomorrow, I'm gonna go through the others again and join some new ones. Hehehe. I've been watching Card Captor Sakura, you see, in Animax. And I really like it so I'm adding a few Fls for the series and characters. I'm also gonna be adding a few RL Fls for actors and actresses, and maybe movies and TV shows. We'll see.

Unfortunately, I still have to study coz the board exam is fast approaching. The new layout will probably just have to wait for a few months more. *sdrop*

- Resurrection

Wow. Eight months. I waited that long to make another entry. Or to be more precise, I lazed around for 8 months before making another entry. Lol.

Well, I haven't really been doing nothing, you know. Since my last entry, I've managed to graduate from university, and with honors at that. =) And since I'm gonna have to take the CPA board exams this October, I am currently attending review classes, in order to increase my chances of actually passing the board. In fact, we are having our second pre-board exams today and tomorrow. The third one comes near the end of September.

Well, my interest in my site and this blog have been revived once more. I'm trying to work on a site layout of my own now, even though I said before that I'd given up. It's just that I need something personalized, you know. I just know that what I come up with won't be as professional or cute looking as the ones I've used before, but at least I know I made them and that they're all gonna be used just for my site. I'll just have to keep working on them, I guess.

Anyway, shall keep you up to date as to what's happening. Gonna go and update my Fls now as some of them have already sent notices that they've changed URLs and I still haven't changed the links here. Ja!

- FPJ is dead

Remember when I was ranting about an action star who ran for president on this year's election? Well, his name is Fernando Poe Jr., FPJ for short, and he just died.

It was all so sudden. On Saturday he was reported to have suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital. Then on Tuesday morning, I'm talking 12:01 in the morning, he died.

I'm not really a big fan of his so I'm not gonna dwell on that. I just wanted to share sonce it is a somewhat significant event here in the Philippines, due to the fact that he's known as "The King" of the Filipino movie industry.

Well, I bet no one expected me to post an entry today, right? I wasn't planning to, actually, but I did anyway. Lol.

What should I tell you guys? Well, I just had my first accounting exam for the semester. It was actually not that bad but for some reason, I was confused and as a result, i ended up not being able to balance my 2004 balance sheet. Ugh. The exam also lasted 5 hours, which is pretty tolerable if you consider the fact that we used to have 7-hour exams. ^^

Oh, right, one more thing. Tomorrow I'm gonna watch the Oblation Run with my batchmates! Whee!!! I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I'm gonna do it again. The Oblation Run is an annual event at my university. The neophytes or pledges (or whatever they call themselves nowadays) of a certain fraternity have to run around the campus butt-naked. Yes, I said butt-naked!! Nyahahah!!! But then, they always run by so fast, you don't actually have enough time to actually see anything. ^^;

And lastly, I've just archived the previous index coz it was getting too long. Besides, I plan to have a new layout within the week. Watch out for it!!
