Winners again!
Nyahaha!! I seem to be becoming sportier these days. Yesterday we had our "Great E&R Challenge", or GERC for short. E&R is short for 'Education and Research' and is one of the committees in my org. I belong to the Membership committee myself. =)
This GERC is like a combination of physical and mental challenges. That includes obstacle courses and other physical stuff mized with questions that need to be answered to complete a level. Questions cover most of our major subjects like Accounting, Human Resources, Operations and Marketing.
Obviously, since E&R is in charge of the whole thing, they can't participate. So only the other 5 committees were competing, including my committee, of course. We were seriously outnumbered. That's coz this semester is the application period of our org and all the other committees has their own batch of applicants to aid them while the Membership committee had none. The reason is that the MemCom's job is to take care of the org's members and applicants so obviously, the applicants can't be made to take care of themselves, right.
There were only 7 of us from MemCom who participated and all of us were girls. It was a good thing that in that group of seven, we had sporty girls and smart girls. Lolz. We were able to handle the challenges and we even managed to win 2nd place! Whee!
Even though it wasn't 1st place, we were still quite happy coz we managed to bad 2nd with only 7 girls. Are we good or what? ^_^

4-Time Champion!!!!
Wahahaha!!! Our batch is the best! Imagine, we're the first batch to ever win the Cheering competition of our annual sportsfest 4 TIMES. ^____^ Can you tell that I'm really happy? Lolz.
Aside from that, we were the best in attendance. Well, that didn't come as a surprise coz the Terminals always win best in attendance. (FYI, Terminals refer to us, the fifth years. There's freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, right? Well, we're the Terminals. ^^)
Also, we were 2nd place in the overall. Terminals NEVER reach 2nd place overall. Well, at least not as far as I know. But that just goes to show that our batch is the BEST!! Woohoo!!
And even though my muscles are sore and I got a bruise from the tug-of-war, I'm still happy! ^_^
Read my new ficlet, ne. It's titled 'Beyond Coffee' and is posted at FFN and 'Glomp!'. Ja ne!

P.S.
I know 'Glomp!' has been somewhat dormant as I haven't updated in 2 weeks. It's just that with all that's been going on, I haven't had time to contact authors and copy fics. ^_^ However, I am still looking for new fics and I probably will be able to update before the end of the month.
Watch out for it, ne!

*Sigh*
Well, things are pretty much winding down now. The wedding is over and my aunt is going back to Spain tomorrow while my sister will be going back to China on Friday.
I have to say though, that I was not at all happy about what happened during the wedding reception. I was more than not happy, actually. I was pissed off and insulted.
Remember, the groom is my cousin. Of course I totally expected that we'd be seated in the main ballroom during the reception. But no! About 15 of us cousins of the groom was assigned to the Kiddie Room. THE KIDDIE ROOM, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! We were far from being kids, damn it! Even my sister who came home from China to see the wedding was assigned to the kiddie room. Where's the logic in that, I ask you. Of course, we were told a bit later on that we could go into the main ballroom already coz there were a lot of people who didn't attend. But of course, by that time, my pride had already been badly bruised, so we collectively decided that we would NOT go into that ballroom even if they killed us.
Oh, all right. So it wasn't that dramatic but you get my point, ne. I wouldn't have reacted so severely if my cousin himself or at least other members of the family had told us about the arrangement personally. As it was, we only found out about it when we checked the seating assignments and only our parents' names were there.
I got so mad then. I refused to eat the food that was served to us. Fortunately, I had eaten quite a bit during the afternoon so I wasn't hungry at the time or else I would've humiliated myself by forgetting about my silent protest and wolfing down the food. Lolz.
So there. One entirely unmemorable wedding down.
I think I'll go back to studying now. Ja!

Busy Week
Gish, it's been so busy here since my sis came home. And it's gonna be busy until she goes back to China, which is on July 23.
To add to all the confusion, my aunt who we haven't seen for a long time has also come for a visit. Of course, the reason why she came is that my cousin is about to be married this coming Sunday. ^_^
Argh! I have no time to be doing this! Gotta go. I'll just write a more detailed entry once all this chaos has passed. Ja!

Yahoo!
Hehehe. Finally! My Yahoo! email account now has 100MB of memory. I was sorta disappointed when my classmates told me that theirs had been upgraded and mine didn't. I guess Yahoo! was just doing the upgrading in batches, starting from the most recent addresses. Anyhow, I'm so happy since I will no longer max out my account. Yay!
Also, my sis is coming home for her vacation today. =) She'll be here for two weeks and then she's gonna go back to China for another year of work. I dunno though whether she's planning to keep on working there indefinitely or is she just wants one more year to build up her savings. *shrug*
I went to an Adobe Photoshop workshop yesterday. And even though the instructor only taught us very basic stuff, I was still sorta inspired. Lolz! Inspired in terms of wanting to try making a layout again, and not that my artistic and creativity got a boost.
Well, that's it for now. Me gonna study already coz I have this huge pile of readings to read for my exam on Tuesday. And I alos have 2 cases due next week, plus 1 exercise, a quiz tomorrow and another 2 cases dues the week after next. Oh joy.

Stupid IT Stuff
Ugh. My IT subject professor has asked us to research on any news about some IT issues. My group chose the Infrastructure Management Issues. It seemed to be the easiest one among the 3 presented but the problem is, I can't find any news at all that has to do with that issue. Or maybe I just don't know where to look. *sigh*
Maa, gomen for short post. I still need to look for that article...

Igme
That's the name of that damn tropical storm currently pelting the Philippines. I have no idea what Igme means and I have no desire to find out. All I know is that it has caused me a severe lack of sleep because of powere outages throughout the night.
It all started out innocently enough. The power went out at about 9:05 P.M. Why so exact? It just so happens that I was watching CSI when the damn power went off. Well, I thought, at least I can still watch the replay on Sunday. That's not to say that I wasn't pissed off. I was so mad I felt like punching... something. Too bad it was to dark to do any serious damage so I settled for seething silently in the dark.
I called up my best friend and chatted with her for about an hour. How do I know this? I don't regularly keep track of how long I chat on the phone but it just so happens that the power came back at about 10:10 P.M. I ended up ranting for another few minutes, having this paranoid belief that MERALCO (that't the name of our useless power company) deliberately cut power just to prevent me from watching CSI. What was I supposed to think when the power went off just as CSI started and came back just after it ended? It's a conspiracy, I tell you.
All right, you say, what has missing CSI got to do with lack of sleep? Actually, lots. See, my best friend remarked that CSI replay was shown at 12 midnight so I stayed up to wait for it. Turns out that her information is outdated and that it was Max-X that was being shown. I wasn't pissed coz I figured, hey, there's always Sunday.
So I went to bed after that. I have to mention that it's really hot and humid here in the Philippines even when there's a storm. Or maybe that's just due to the layout of our house. Whatever. Anyway, I went to bed, making sure to plug in the electric fan so I don't suffocate in my sleep. And what do you know! Just barely an hour later, when I had just successfully nodded off, the darn electricity went off again. ARGH!! So of course, I woke up because of the oppressive humidity. I couldn't sleep coz of the heat. To make a long-ish story short, the power came back on at around 4:30 A.M. and only then was I able to fall asleep because I turned on the air-conditioner.
Ugh. Seems to me that our "new" president has a lot of work to do. I say "new" with quotation marks because she has been our president for the past 3 years now, ever since she "dethroned" our previous president, who just happened to be an action movie star. There was an election this May and she ran against 4 other president wannabes, one of whom is (surprise, surprise) an action movie star. (This action movie star just happened to be the best friend of our "dethroned" action movie star president.
*sigh* Only in the Philippines. Now you no longer have to wonder why I'm so eager to leave this country.

Appear, darn you!
ARGH! My background and top picture won't show up properly! Also, my FL icons aren't showing up as well! ARGH!!
*sigh* That's what you get when you use a free image hosting service. I guess I'll just wait and see whether it's just a temporary thing or a permanent problem. Then I'll go look for a new host. But darn! I hate to do that coz it's horribly difficult to find another host. *sigh*
On another note, a high school friend of mine treated us to lunch yesterday. Well, actually, his family was celebrating the fact that he's already graduated from college and they asked him to invite his schoolmates and friends as well. So there we were. ^_^
There were like ten tables there and we (me, my high school friends and his college thesis-mates) occupied only one table. Just imagine, his relatives occupied all the other tables! That's how many they were! Granted that the celebration included all his relatives up to his first cousins and some of his uncles or aunts had like 5 kids. ^_^
I've uploaded 4 new fics at Glomp!, by the way. They're all GetBackers fics and LEMONs to boot. *hentai grin* In case anyone has fic recommendations, I'd be happy to hear them coz I want to continue adding as many fics as I can to Glomp! while I'm still relatively free.

Quote
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently. - Robert Evans, The Kid Stays in the Picture
I just saw this quote in a television show, but at the time, I wasn't able to take note of who said it. All i remembered was 'Robert'. Hehehe. So I searched for it in the Internet and voila! Found it. ^_^
I actually think this quote is a good launching pad for a fic. I hope I'm up to writing it. ^^

New Daily Link
I've added Choco to my Daily reads. ^_^ She seems pretty nice and her blog is just awesome! The layout is really pretty while hinting at yaoi at the same time. Lolz! Now that's my kind of layout. ^^ Too bad though I have no skills whatsoever and still need to use linkware layouts. Oh well, that's life, I guess. *shrug*
Check out Choco's blog! Just click on her link there under the 'daily' section coz I'm too lazy to put up a link in here. *sheepish* ^^;

New Card
Yay! Finally got a new internet prepaid card. ^_^ Another 60 hours of worthless internet surfing, coming right up! Hehehe.
I actually have a sort of problem. Not actually a problem, but more of a task to be done. I have to design a simple little logo for our group coz our professor insists on each group having it's own name and logo. I think it's a good idea except that I have absolutely no clue as to what kind of logo I'm gonna do. Our group's name is 'The Masterminds' and I guess the logo's gonna be like 2 M's or something. I'll think more about it tomorrow. Right now I'm just chilling out. ^_^

In a Hurry
Hehehe. I just realized that I only have 2-plus hours left in my prepaid internet account so I have to be quick. Tomorrow I'll buy another card and I guess I'll post more then. ja!

^_____^
Hehehe. I can't stop smiling! I'm so pleased with my new site. Plus, the author of a Saiyuki fic has just replied to tell me that she'll let me host her fic. Wheee!! In a few days I should be able to upload the fic to Glomp! =)
Thanks to the people who visited and left a message: Choco, Keax, Cymone and Kroft. ^_^

Glomp!!!
Yup, yup, yup!!! Finally launched 'Glomp!' and I'm so happy about it! Hehehe. I spent a lot of time just looking for that perfect little counter to put up there. I must have gone to about 3 dozen free counter sites before stumbling upon this one. *sigh*
On the other hand, I still haven't found a new webhost so I'm settling for NetFirms for the time being. I really hate that banner! But well, beggars can't be choosers, ne? ^^
Visit Glomp!
