Sunday, February 2, 2003 stupid fire alarm. someone got cute and set it off at 12:30 at night.
I wanted to be in bed by now. ;_; so tired... even after my 6 hour nap. Saturday, February 1, 2003 gah, I was sooo tired last ngiht. I was talking on the phone with skuld and I couldn't stop yawning. we ended up not going dancing. another night, perhaps. Alex was sweet and brought me hot coco and I'm educating him on the ways of CLAMP. now he'll be able to understand what I'm always babbeling about. he went home and I called it an early night. I was in bed by 11. O.o got up, went to a Thai place recommended by Robin. Yummy! And you should've seen the drink I got! Coconut juice with coconut pieces in it! REALLY neat. and good.
on a sad note, the columbia shuttle blew up this morning. horrible. and now, I need to read some, but I'm really tired, so I'm contemplaiting more sleep. Friday, January 31, 2003 Gah! I'm done with my application!! YAY! i need to get the money for the application fee, then I'm green. MUCHOS thanks to Val-chan and mom for help on my essay. Here's hoping! I would be awesome if I could meet Val-chan in Japan! best site for a meeting of fan girls. speaking of val-chan, I can't WAIT to see her. it's months away, and I'm already itching to go over there. The other night at dinner I was gushing about it to Alex and he regailed me with some england stories. but, GAH! can't wait to meet her.
and now, more work. ::groans:: so much to do! Tuesday, January 28, 2003 Alright! let's start updating again! Yesterday was spent all around campus. Walking to West campus and back again in 0 degree weather's not fun. Rushing about to gather up all of my recomendations and my transcripts not to mention classes and that little thing called eating! it was a busy day, but I got a lot done. today is more of the same, plus I need to run by the book store for one last text book that my writing professor wants us to have. ::wilts:: so much to do! i'll get it done! at least my essay's coming along well. I really like how it's started out so far, and I hope to finish it off this afternoon. Alex came up with a great idea last night. He's going to take skuld and I and a few others to a club around town. I think it's a wonderful idea because I've never been clubbing with either one of them, and I get an excuse to dance with my boyfriend. sounds like a nice friday night.
best part is that I got plenty of sleep last night. Why is it that the best part of my day was getting enough sleep? sad. Saturday, December 14, 2002 So it's finals week. I'm not going to be updating at all. I'm watching all of the Core lectures on video tape. I plan to finish them tomorrow. Tonight we went to Uno's (my frist time) and we got our appatizer and all of our desserts for FREE! that's like . good times.
I scored a 29% on the "How white are you??!" Quizie! What about you? Sunday, December 8, 2002 today has been a work day. I wrote out my Japanese extra credit sakubun. also wrote out my Japanese speach. and now I'm working on my last and FINAL paper. yay!!!. Let's just hope that the bookstore gets those copies in tomorrow. Grrrr! ::glares at B&N)

had a great time tonight. Skuld-chan invited me to a friend's b-day party. Matt's boyfriend's b-day party. it was really nice. And the house was absolutely GORGEOUS! wow. If I have a house half that nice in a few years, I will be one happy woman. good times. Thursday, December 5, 2002 It's snowing again! ok, so yeah. random guys hitting on me today. I was at CAS. And I noticed this guy staring at me. Looked over and he said: "I like your coat, want to come to a party on Friday?" I oh so graciously declined. he was... not sketchy so much as grungy. and a second person complimented me on my coat just outside Hojos. she said it was gorgeous! ::beams:: I love that hood. And I just got back from a bach preformance/lecture done by the head of Core. I got to sit for an hour and a half and listen and discuss bach all while watching the snow fall. it was fasinating. I ran into steph before hand and invited her along. she loved it. and so did I. a very classy event. and we had hot cider and cookies afterward. great times.
now I must study for a japanese test tomorrow. wish me luck! Sunday, November 24, 2002 Just got done reading the Shadow Trilogy. It was a great story, though I don't recomend it to anyone who might be reading this. It's not slash, and it's very dark. Very nicely written. Gorgeous language with a keen mind behind it. Lesse, this weekend... Friday was spent with another wonderful dinner at Pskank. fish pasta. odd. but good. found a shard of the bone in my gums this morning. ::wrinkles nose:: after that was a trip with alex to DDR it. (i got his copy of Snow Crash) and then to skuld's for the friday night sleepover. ^__^ lastnight was the sushi party with steph. matt came along. yummy sushi for . then home again home again to see the midnight showing of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. amusing. followed by a game of Monopoly with mark, umair, and his visiting friend, rick. yay. today was a riviting day of brunch with Kam and Brandon. home to read. did the LSAT practice test with Kam. home to read. Went to dinner with Steve, and ended up eating with Kam and Brandon. It was a Kam-centric day. I go 3 weeks without seeing much of the boy, then end up spending most of the day with him.
I should update more often to keep these posts shorter and more reader-friendly! Friday, November 22, 2002 Happy B-day, otousan! not much has happened all week. I've kinda been drifting. I really need to get my major stuff all lined out and decide if I want to be a political science major or an east asia studies major. The latter would be easier to accomplish, and I might even have room for some fun courses. but the former would probibly develope my skills better for law school. ::sighs:: I need advice. I need to make that appointment with Mr. Fewsmith. and with a random political science major. and perhaps ask joe, the only person I know in law school, what he thinks. ::sighs again:: I feel that I'm really at a crossroads here, and I'm not sure where to turn. I just pray that I get into the Kyoto program. ::prays:: Please, God, guide me. not sure if I'll make it to anime club tonight. I've seen Rah Xephon now, but I might do so to take some CDs over to ali-chan. she's offered to burn some for me. she's so sweet! thanks, ali-chan!!! and I'm all jealous of omi. he sounds like he's having a nice time. regular exercize. beaches. a tan. learning another language. cool bugs and animals. except the no companionship thing. maybe I'm not so jealous of him after all...

Steph's staying at BU!!!!! YAY! ::cheers:: Sunday, November 17, 2002 Harry Potter was great. I had a nice time with Ali-chan and Skuld, though now I'm worried about skuld. Hung around the dorm last night. drew. relaxed. showered. other relaxing things. it was a nice night. today I didn't do much. some homework. listening to HP: prisoner of alzkaban. good book. I had a chat with jerry and a really long chat with my mom. I love talking with mom, and it makes her insanely happy when I call her. I really should do so more often. If a simple phone call makes her happy, then why am I not thinking of her more often and calling? I plan to be more in touch in the future.

Friday, November 15, 2002 wow, a lot to say here. last night was dinner over at bootyville. is that what they named it? anyway, it was a great dinner with wine on the side. a brief TT followed. the usuals showed up, and matt's old roommate came. I cut out early to study for my japanese test, in which alex was so kind as to drive me home. today I awoke to studying and classes. I got my test back from my Japanese Civ class. A. YAY! then more studying. I got my Humanties mid-term back. B. Boo. Then Japanese. I got my last test back. A. YAY! woo! 3 exams back in one day. then off to my meeting with the Kyoto program lady. I got some very interesting info. It turns out only about 3 people apply every year for the year long program and 2-3 people end up going. so the odds are looking pretty good for me. bad news is, she says that more people have been asking for pamplets, so more people might be applying this year. ::nervous:: I really want to go!! and I went to file my passport today, but it turns out that our post office doesn't do passports so I'm going to have to treck across town tomorrow to do it. then dinner and go club at MIT. now I'm hanging around till I go down to the Commonwealth room to watch tLotR-- the extended version. dun dun duuu~~un!

Wednesday, November 13, 2002 OH! I was walking around with my Imo's shirt on, and a woman stopped me in the hallway to ask where I got it, and I answered St. Louis. and she got all excited cause she used to live there (and she went to Mizzou). so we gushed about St. Louis and Imo's pizza for a while. it was good times.
and I got my pics taken for my passport, they look alright, but I think I look funny with my glasses on. >.< don't get me wrong, I like my glasses in RL, but in pictures they look odd. Tuesday, November 12, 2002 I had my meeting with my undecided adviser today. He gave me some good leads on where to go with my major, and even suggested a new one that might work out better for me in the long run: East Asia Studies. As much as I adore politics, I might have to go with this one just to fit it into my scheduel, and this's not including the summer courses that I'll have to take to be able to go abroad. I have the lady's email address for the Kyoto program, I'll be seeing her on Friday, and the adviser today game me the number to Pro. Fewsmith, the head of the IR department of East Asian Studies. I'll call him tomorrow.
And mom, just to let you know, I'm getting my picture done tomorrow. I should have the application for my passport in by Wednesday or Thursday. Sunday, November 10, 2002 damn. my mom's the best kid in the world. I should learn by now, that if I'm feeling down and hopless to just give her a call and things'll look better.
She reasured me that she's for anything that I wish to do and anything that I need to do to accomplish it. This means that if I have to take summer courses, here or in St. Louis, or even not graduating on time, she'll back me up all the way. you have no idea how much this ment to me. looks like I might be going to Japan after all.

I dunno. I'm really down. I'm worried about my grades a lot. and I'm not so sure that I'm going to be able to go to Japan for a year now. I dont' have enough credits under my major, and I wouldnt' be able to fit it in. I'm very depressed about that. The only thing that might still allow me to do this is summer courses, which I would be very willing to take. and I'd even double up to 5 courses a year if I had to. I would. It's my dream to go to Japan and to not be able to is heart breaking. Wednesday, November 6, 2002 a slow day today. worked on my humanities paper. I got to eat lunch with Maikaru today. I havn't seen him since last year, and it was nice to catch up with him. He's made quite a makeover of himself. nicely done. the long dark coat def. suits him. I also voted today. go me! I did my civic duty. pretty much went republican where I could, though many slots were democrats running unopposed. the only exception I made was the govener race. the replican, romney is a sleez ball. even for a repulican. I mean reeeallly sleezy. he was part of the Salt Lake City Olimpic commity. we all remember the bribing that went on there. I didn't vote democrat either. I went Green for the govenor. ::sighs:: but it looks like the sleez ball will win. Kevin voted too. I'm watching the carnnahan/talent race closely. I did NOT aprove when Missouri elected a DEAD guy into office. I got made fun of today for it. though thank God, it looks like Talent's pulling ahead.
other votes to pay attention to: on a more personal note, Matt and I had a long chat tonight that turned out well. discussed our thoughts of each other, and our not really relationship. and I got some dirt on those who've been eyeing me. all in all an informative conversation.

-Ashley said so at 12:25 p.m.. Saturday, November 2, 2002 Last night was anime club night over at MIT with skuld, ali-chan, and mel. all but mel cosplayed. I got 3rd place and won some pocky and a gift certifict. then over the river, swing by my place and off to DDR. Skuld's got kick the can down, which is good. and I WILL get the twist.... someday. after DDR is was off to skuld's for the night. we watched the One. Jet Li/Jet Li!! Skuld and I chatted this morning on the way and at Dim Sum then some wondering around china town. we found a cute store! and took some sticker pics. finally off to sasuga where we meet ali-chan. I found a book set of Wind and Tree's Song! yay!messed up french kids. and some Yami and some Hana.
now I'm back home trying to get some work done but the manga is calling me....
Friday, November 1, 2002 no frisbee tonight. it's cosplay night at anime club! yay! and perhaps afterward, some DDR. It'll be something to see Skuld at anime club. ::pointed look:: too bad I can't dress up for it, my belts just arn't up to lugging across the bridge, but maybe I'll go sans belts. ::srugs::

and now I don't know what to do with myself. I've been working nonstop since saturday, and now I have some free time... and I just don't know what to do. I should read or wash my sheets, but my mind is in a fuzzy haze. I took a nap this afternoon, and I'm still in that inbetween sleep and awakefulness stage. we'll see. Monday, October 28, 2002 Meet Steph for dinner at the GSU then went to the core by candlelight concert. It was enjoyable. Heard some great pieces sung and on the piano. Shubert, shumand, williams. all great composers. Steph was really happy that I picked up that flyer thinking of her. good times. Tomorrow is a meeting with the core writing center. i'm going to go over my paper with them. hope it helps streamline my ideas, of course this means that I've gotta finish up the paper tonight. stupid 7 page papers... also tomorrow is a Japanese quiz. I made up a study guide and flashcards, but I dont' have time to study for it tonight because of my paper, so I'll do that in my 2 hour gap between classes. Ali-chan burned me the first six episodes of Rah Xephon for me, which was really sweet of her. I absolutely adore the series. yay! pretty mech battles. speaking of ali-chan, I'm debating weither or not to enter that cosplay contest on friday. I'm not sure that I want to drag my belts all the way across the bridge, but if I did, I'm pretty sure that I'd win something... I dunno. had a nice chat with mom. really helped. I've been really worrying about my grades, stressing a lot, but mom's a great support. should've called her earlier. and now I need a back rub. been too tense lately.
