Gimme Some Lovin'

Fox is anything synonymous with the word "random". She's unlike anybody she has met and hates it while loving it at the same time. She's 5'10" with dark blonde hair and hazel eyes that make her feel more different (considering everybody around her has blue eyes). Her birth date is listed as October 20th in the year 1984. This makes her a Libran Rat. She likes the Beatles, loves Radiohead, and has an unend-able relationship with anime. And she loves pocky. If you give her pocky, she'll be your bestest friend forever.

Layout

Version Incest. Ho hum. What made me do it? Possibly the devil :3 This layout was somewhat inspired by Greenplastic's layout, only I can't do a spiffy random image generator here (not yet, at least). If I could, then there'd be better pictures, but as it is, I decided on the main piece being Seishirou and Setsuka (his mum) because it's probably the only other relationship with Seishirou in it that I'd support seriously, aside from SeishirouxSubaru. Plus I love the original picture. Er, the sections are named mostly after lines in Beatles songs (sans the first one) because I'm listening to the Beatles' 1 album as I make this. And it just so happens that a lot of their early no.1 hits were on the subject of love...with goofy phrases that only a person like me would take advantage of :D

w00t! I'd be in a little category of my own if somebody were to divide the X fancommunity into different categories. I have yet to see another X fanatic with a music taste that could only be described with anything synonymous with the term "weird shit". Nor have I found another X fan who's just plain weird and psychotic and anti-social like me. And random. Can't forget random.

Raise your hand if you're an X fan and you like getting your mind repeatedly raped by your music and whatever you read or write (or if your goal in your stories and concepts is to rape the innocent mind of your readers).

I'm not saying that I'm on an evolutionary degree higher than the other fans out there. I consider myself just radically different from them all! I'm on the same level as them, but, metaphorically speaking, I'm the weird cousin that NOBODY likes to talk to or bring up in conversation. Admit it- if I were to approach you online, you'd blow me off ;) ((except for Amie-sempai, but she's not an X fan- at least I don't think she is- and she's my sempai. She talks to me *glomps Amie* I LOVE YOU IN A NON-SEXUAL WAAAAAAY!!!))

I've been wanting to say that for a while :)

It just occured to me what the more depressed members of the cast of X need: Weezer and The Flaming Lips :D How could one NOT be sad when they listen to light-hearted geek-chic rock and stupid, unserious techno-pop?

I found the rarities of rarities at World Records today: a used cd of The Beatles 1 album (for the record, for non-Beatles fans who don't keep tabs on one of the most revolutionary bands ever to rock the world, 1 was released a few years ago. It's a compilation of most of the Beatles' no.1 hits). Nobody in their right mind would trade in their copy of 1!!! Seizing the moment, I bought it. For . And now I'm listening to it. And singing along. X3

I also finally got a haircut(!!!). The hairstylist was one of my boss's old employees (he recommended her), and she was really nice. She told me that she could cut my hair shorter if I liked. I would have readily agreed to do this too, but in two Saturdays I have to have dinner with my grandparents and I don't want to shock them too badly. I think I'll go back in March and get it cut shorter >:D

OOH! I also ordered Xtv 3 from World Records! Bruce can get it directly from a warehouse he orders from and sell it to me for XD I'll get it in like 2 or 3 weeks because this week Bruce is ordering from the other warehouse, where he gets LPs. I think I'm going to start ordering my anime dvds from Bruce. Sure, the difference in price (between World Records and Suncoast) is , but it adds up and is much friendlier on my wallet.

And Yellow Submarine is playing now. Excuse me while I sing.

ROFLMFAO- SNL's Weekend Update's Super Bowl Half Time Show: Chris Katan dressed up as Gollum! A bad parody of American Idol 2 (it's sad because I actually got half the references)! This is just too fucking hilarious!

The first meal of the day is always the most important meal of the day. My first meal of the day consisted of cold leftovers of fried rice, Chicken & curry, and a bunch of other meats and veggie mixes. I had cold Chinese food for breakfast. Go me.

It's really starting to piss me off that I can't really see the television screen all that well. I tried watching Help! again, but with no luck :(

*reading summary of recent X*

Woo hoo! Subaru finally killed somebody!...er, I think. Dammit! He was possibly/most likely the person who killed Kanoe >:( I liked that ho too. She was number 5 on my list of favourite CLAMP femmes.

Wow. Kamui pissed/shocked at Subaru XD Nee, if Kamui kills Subaru, wouldn't that make Kamui the next Sakurazukamori? And since he is THE Kamui of the Seals and the Sakurazukamori is on the side of Angels, wouldn't it be a contradiction to Kamui's nature? While Sakurazukamori!Kamui would be interesting (and funnier than hell), it's not possible. I don't think CLAMP would fuck around with the continuity of their manga in such a way that would throw the readers off and end the story. If Kamui dies, it's over. If Kamui becomes an Angel, I'm pretty damn sure it's over. Kamui, in that respect, is like Buffy. If Buffy became a vampire, you couldn't continue the series because she lost; she's a vampire. Ditto if she dies. It's sort of a rule that the main character has to stay pure in the nature of their existence. They can get screwed over more times than Subaru ((sorry, Subaru is just the classic standard when it comes to comparing either gayness or life's messed up plans)), but they can't change their nature. Kamui will always be a Dragon of Heaven because it is what he chose.

Subaru on the other hand- wow, I am impressed with him now. It's most likely that he did kill Kanoe, but he's showing responsibility. And he finally got off his lazy ass and killed somebody XD I want to compare him to a fallen angel now, because that's what he is. He has fallen from grace by betraying Kamui and his former companions through killing Hinoto's sister and making Kamui witness it (ouch!). He's up there with Fuuma now :D Of course, I don't think we'll see evil!Subaru molesting Kamui any time soon (damn).

I have a feeling that in future editions, possibly towards the end, Subaru is going to try to redeem himself. It could be the ending of the videogame (if you chose to play Subaru) or it could be what I've heard of the ending of the tv series (where Hokuto makes an appearance). Then again, would CLAMP conform to those endings? The ends we see in the videogame and the tv series could be rough drafts of the ending to the manga. Or CLAMP could screw us all over once more....as they've done with their characters and to their fans in the past.

Damn! I haven't ranted about X like this in a long while it seems XD Ranting about X gets my mind off of my current angsting about being insecure and nearsighted without my glasses. Sure, my eyes hurt from straining them to look at the screen, but at least I made a healthy rant and gave my two cents :D

My glasses broke last night ;o_o; And just as I was going out to work. I feel so insecure without them, too. I have to go like this for a few weeks, since (1) I have to work and (2) the only day I can go is the 20th of Febuary. Well, there is a silver lining to this, ahem, petite crisis; at least I get to get a new pair of frames. Maybe I'll get those geek-chic emo pair I've been wanting for a while.

Amie, reading your blog has made my day. :D

In other news, I am making my boyfriend a complete CLAMP addict. Converting people to yaoi/bishounen-ai/CLAMP always puts me in a good mood. I've become like my Master, Dy-chan (the one who converted me to fangirlism and showed me the world of anime beyond what they show on television). I have followers/converters. Dy would be so proud of me *starry eyes*

I watched Dogma again for the 50-billionth time. I never tire of that movie. After reading some funny parts in the credits, it became very apparent that at one time Kevin Smith was a Catholic and may still be one. This makes a lot of sense.

I read some more of "Bacchae" before I went to bed and as a result had a very weird dream o.o; Note: Greek plays should not be read before going to bed.

Word up to my sempai, Amie, who has finished downloading "Wild Rock" and is reading it. Also, forgive me, as I am about to steal a nifty little thing from your blog:

I'm glad I got some sleep. I felt better when I woke up ^^ Work was fine. Afterwards, I went to the used book store and bought a book of 10 Greek plays for :D I'm currently reading Euripides "Bacchae" (the Bacchae were a sect that devoutly followed Dionysus/Bacchus, the god of wine. Their devotion was a scary sort of devotion, as there are tales of the Bacchae literally tearing opposers of their insane faith to bloody bits and pieces. Even scarier were who the followers were- women. I believe Orpheus may have met his death at the hands of the Bacchae. I know it was an insane cult of women worshipping a male god). The play is a bit of hard reading, but it's interesting. I can sense Euripides cynicism towards the gods and putting all faith into such "divine" figments.

I was talking to my boss today about comic books and why I dislike most DC comic book heroes ("dislike" is such a weak word for it) and didn't like some Marvel series out there. He told me I should open up a comic book shop when I'm older. Dear god. Heaven help the poor fanboy who dares to tell me that Superman is the greatest comicbook characer out there.

A parody/bastardization of Superman: Clark Kent is really some pencil-pusher with a job that stifles his creativity. To escape the painful dullness of his job, he fantasizes that he is some "super man", saving the world from any danger. His dreamgirl is Lois Lane, who in reality spites him. His arch-rival is Lex Luthor, Lois's boyfriend- a former pencil-pusher that kissed a lot of asses to get promoted to supervisor of his division. All Clark's adventures and exploits as "Superman" are thus in his head, and his real life sucks.

Can you tell how much I really don't like Superman?

Bleh. I need to meet more people. C'mon, Fox! "Meeting People is Easy!" Yeah. Right...-.- Meeting people is hard to do up here, especially when you're not exposed to people your age and you live in the country, surrounded by a religious sect that has forsaken technology and the modern coveniences of the 20th and 21st centuries.

I shouldn't say meeting people is hard; it is actually easy. Relating to people and forming some sort of lasting connection to them are what're hard to do. I feel so alone up here. At least in Ohio, I had Stacy and Ryan and everybody else in Brookville who I could visit. I could take a bus on weekdays to Dayton and catch another bus to a few of my friends' houses. That all changed with Graduation. Cat moved to Michigan, Stacy went to Pennsylvania, and I had to remain in Indiana, far from where I used to live. I haven't found anybody up here who has the same passion as I do for anime and manga or anything else I like. Bummer. Major bummer. The internet is a poor substitute for human interaction. Eventually the reality of the fakeness of it all hits me and the loneliness seeps in.

Before I had a job, I would sleep all day and stay up all night. I was doing nothing. I'm glad I have a job now, because it gives me something to do and I can make money to buy things to fill the void and boredom in my life. But those materialistic things are never successful substitutes. I always go back to feeling isolated. It's like the question, "What do you give the person who has everything?". In my case, you can give me happiness- true, solid happiness in the company of people I can relate to and call friends.

I'm bored. I'm going to go to bed now. Maybe in my dreams, I'll find something more satisfactory than what I have here in reality. I really do hate escaping via dreams, but in this case, it can't be helped. I have work tomorrow, as usual, and it's way past my bedtime.

I've been listening to The Flaming Lips' Soft Bulletin album for over two hours now and I still can't figure it out. It's a concept album (like Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots) but the music distracts me everytime I try to figure out the lyrics. I should sit down and read the lyrics, but right now, I have the attention span of, well, him *points to Ryuichi in her layout* This, of course, is very irritating, but it can't be helped. I can't concentrate X.x *beats head with a stick*

News on the Harry Potter front:

Gary Oldman has been asked to play Sirius Black in the third Harry Potter movie.

My opinion: Most of the roles I've seen Gary Oldman in were villains (Dracula, Lost in Space, The Fifth Element, ect...). He's had some non-villian roles too (Sid Vicious (a famous punk rocker in the 80s) in Sid & Nancy, which I still have yet to see (cult classic, on my list, James and Rari keep on telling me to see it)). Overall, I think this is a good role for him. Sirius doesn't come off as a protagonist when you are first introduced to his character (or rather, when you first hear of his imfamy), but he's not the antagonist. Adding a Harry Potter film to his credentials is a great way to boost his popularity with the younger generation. He looks PERFECT for the role, too. Gary Oldman is not too old and not too young; Sirius Black is supposed to be theoretically in his mid-30s (ditto with Snape and the Mauraders). I am definitely seeing this movie now. I just wonder who they're getting to play Remus Lupin...

((my source was Entertainment Weekly for the weeks of January 24th to January 31st. I still have some pictures of Ewan McGregor in a powdered wig and of Orlando Bloom as a pirate to scan in))
