The Webcomic Whore Strikes Back!

I love the weekends. That's when most artists update their webcomics :D I am a webcomic whore ((along with being a mangawhore, a whore for Vertigo, and whore-in-training for Crossgen)). I love webcomics with a passion. So much talent out there finally being exposed for the world to see! This weekend proved to be very satisfying in the realm of webcomics.

The Gay Baker: BP is slowly getting to the lemon she promised her fans ^^ FrancisxMelon. Yummy. My comments: USE THE CAKE! USE THE CAKE!!! It will hurt but, boy, will it piss Destin off!

Arcana: YOSHIKI! Finally! I <3 Yoshiki *_* He's so...so....egotistical? Vain? A little full of himself? Something along those lines. Friday offered a two-page post with the appearance of the Harpy Prince and today offered his amusing insight and sharp wit. I'm wondering how Holden knows Yoshiki O.o Maybe Tuesday will provide answers ^^

Nova Next Exit: Four! Playing guitar! YES! Er, I hope it's only till Ian's hand heals...otherwise, that would mean the band has gone through ((and yes, I have been keeping count)) two guitarists and one lead singer ((if you want to count pre-Crive time)). Heh heh heh...poor Four....

I have to plug Hellbits by Tetsuo-kun. It's a very funny fusion of Hellsing and Chobits. Alas, there are only three pages, but I know he has some illustrations of Chii!Alucard and Dark Chii!Anderson floating around someplace.

Bleh. That's all I have on my webcomic laud. There are only so many that I like that update on a regular basis. The other update whenever the artist has something to update. Arcana and The Gay Baker are definitely my two favourite regular updates so far ((Zero Sleep Beauty is also among my favourites but it updates whenever)).

[/laud]

Yeah. So my grandparents are here for dinner. Hmmmm. My mom showed my grandmother my room without my permission. My room is clean and organized to the best of my abilities in my eyes, but to my mother and grandmother, it probably was a mess. Grrrr. I wish my mother had told me that she was going to take grandma on a grand tour of our house. Fortunately, before they entered my room ((I heard them in the hall)), I tore down two of my YYH posters so it wouldn't look like I'm super-obsessed with "cartoons" (mom and grandma don't understand that anime isn't always infantile and random like American cartoons. There is a plot!). *rolls eyes*

I just wish my mother would take my love for Japanese cartoons seriously instead of just looking at me as if I were a child for liking it. Heaven help me if she ever found out (1) what yaoi was and (2) that I love yaoi. That's all I need- to look even more like a freak in the eyes of the judgemental matriarchal figures in my immediate and extended families. They already think I'm messed up. Why not go the whole friggin' nine yards and prove to them that I am, moreso than they thought -.-

O.O Damn you and your HunterxHunter Hisoka Hentai Ass Shot screencap! *fangirlx10* Strangely, I forgot that Hisoka had red hair O.o I was thinking he had blonde hair at first, but the lovely covers at Toriyama World set me straight on that...then I simply forgot again.

Red hair, blue eyes. yuuuuuuummmy. Hisoka's cute without the French clown costume. That's a major turn off for me, considering I dislike any type of clown, except for harlequins, which I only like because my mum owned some cool harlequin doll thingies (including this large, nearly lifesized one). The harlequins always looked so sad and not as foolish as the other clowns.

As yummy as Hisoka is, he still can't beat the sexyness of Kuroro (dark, handsome, thief, gothic- what more could a girl like me ask for?). Excuse me while I fangirl and squee and do other things associated with being a rabid anime/manga fangirl at the moment.

I really need to see the HxH anime...

Oh. And aside from anime, my mom bought the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets dvd, thus renewing my love for the series. I never knew how much of a whore I was for Harry Potter until my mom suprised me with the dvd ((it was technically an Easter gift for the entire family, but I was the only one outwardly enthusiastic about it)). Ke ke ke...I enjoy watching Alan Rickman play a disgruntled teacher at a somewhat elite school of magic, hating his job and about over half (if not all) of the student population and at least one or two people within the faculty.

狐 です ! こに痴話! これ ワ アタシ の pita ^^

Bleh. I hoped I typed that right ^^ I just got done installing Internet Explorer 6.0 on my computer. I chose the custom setting, choosing Japanese text display support and Japanese text input support ^^ It allows you to input Japanese characters in, for example, emails and other online functions, and perhaps even Word ((I have yet to try this)). It's sooooo fun ^^ And it's helpful for people like me learning Japanese and Japanese characters. I just have to type in the romanji letter combinations and it converts to the kana equivalent or the kanji, if you choose the kanji ((the spacebar lets you look at all the options for the word you typed it)). Interestingly, kitsune (狐) is one of the only kanji I know. The other kanji appearing up there might be mistakes ((I was trying to say konichiwa)).

The translation of my above attempt at Japanese is "I am Fox! Hello! This is my pita ^^". Cute and genki, ne? ((かわいい と 元気、ね))

lol I'm such a dork :P

My sister's going vegan all next week. And I, being the Devil's Advocate that I am, will tempt her with meats of all sorts, even fish >:D I know I really shouldn't, but it will bring a form of joy into my dull, uneventful life.

I still have Cayman's Gundam Wing hat. He left it in our car last Friday. I was going to give it back to him yesterday, but ((stupid me)) I forgot it at home. ~le sigh~ Well, it smells like him ^^ And it's a comforting smell.

I tried to read more of PoT last night, but be damned. I just can't get into that series. I can easily get into Hikaru no Go ((note: need to start d/l-ing Hikago again)), which is technically just about boys and go, but I can't get into Prince of Tennis. I'm more of a supernatural/gothic manga person, anyhow. That may be it.
...
Shit. I just remembered. Hikago has a ghost in it. That could be possibly why I was able to get into it. That and it was fecking hilarious and had niiiiiiice art.

So I can't get into PoT. I don't have to like every anime and manga just because it's what's en vogue and thus apart of an attempt to fit in ((when I actually want to fit in, which has been happening a lot lately o.o;)). I fit in with my own little posse ((which is just comprised of me and Amie online and one other person offline, Stacy)), and that makes me happy, because my "posse" rocks. We're weird and nobody wants us XD ((well, except for a few people who either like our weirdness or have just accepted us for who we are...or are like us))

I want to read more DN Angel. I had this cool, kick ass DNA dream last night. It was focused on Krad mostly and I can bearly remember it, but it was kick ass. I woke up with that warm, happy feeling that I ususally have after waking up from kick ass dreams. Yeah. So I want to read more DN Angel now.

Grrrrrrrr. I am so pissed off. I had an awesome entry on comic books in the Western World and their slow decline because of their inability to provide the ever-growing fanboy tastes, but pitas was acting like a bitch and something happened where it's all lost >.< I was on discussing the rise and independence of Vertigo from the DC universe, which they were once confined within ;_;

Ugh. I am not typing all of that out again. Instead, I leave you with the best damn quote of the day, uttered by my comic-illiterate sister in the middle of a comic book store right in front of the all-knowledgable clerks and me.

"Wolverine is angsty. He needs a hug."

Becca, you never cease to make me laugh.

I found my Chick's Mix cd that Tom burned for me two years ago :D It has this Russian techno/pop song on it called "Kroshka Moya" ("My Baby"). A few years ago, it was popular in Russia. This Russian foreign exchange student explained to me the music video once- the singer joins the army and writes his girlfriend telling her how much he loves her, but she evidently doesn't share his sentiments, for she is shown going to dance clubs dancing with other men. I wish I knew what the singer was saying ;_; It's a really good song.

The cd also has "Icculus" by Phish XD The stupidest song ever, but funnier than hell. It's so Phish.

Nova Next Exit has been back up for a few days now. They've been doing this funny dream sequence with Crive XD First, he was in Harry Potter as Sirius Black ((Ian was Ron lol. He has a hilarious quote too)), then he was in Star Wars as Princess Leia O.o; But alas, he's back in the real world now.

Nuked pizza is good. OHOHOHO. It's East of Chicago pizza- even better *East of Chicago whore*

Which Dragon are you?
Take other quizzes at Newsies Meets Anime...Anime Meets Newsies...

....-.- A Dragon of Heaven? Um, compared to the Angels, they're pretty damn weak. Oh well. This quiz let you choose your button, so I chose the Seal that switches sides ^^ Unfortunately, the big gimp has yet to do something evil...like kill a person or molest Kamui ((which is the greater evil?...killing a person. Kamui practically asks to be molested. Damn uke)).

My stepdad got a new computer. It has a cd burner with it, so I think I'm going to attempt to burn my Yami no Matsuei dvd for Amie. I already sent her the opening theme ("Eden") and she liked it ("Hey, Mikey, I think she likes it!"). I wished the computers were networked so that I could take my mp3s and burn them onto cd for peoples and for myself.

I watched the Cher concert tonight! It was so cool! ((secret shame no. 666: likes Cher)) But my sister came in towards the end and was saying how fake Cher was -.- Really. Just because a successful pop diva injects her face with botox or whatever doesn't mean that she's fake.

I've been listening to "Eden" and "Love Me" over and over again. I love those songs! They have to be among the best opening/end themes I've heard ^^ The songs are great to draw to ^^

I'm feeling very aesthetic right now. And lonely. A bad combination for artist depression. Plus I have a new J-Goth mp3- "Eden" from Yami no Matsuei :3 Ohohoho. Feel the beautiful darkness of the soul twisting and rising from its gild trap underneath all the happiness and masks of the soul. Obliverate the happiness and destroy the masks one by one in order to show my true self in all its loneliness and fear.

God, I need friends.

I saw the trailer to Prirates of the Caribbean last night. Let's see....Seemingly good effects, a rare genre of movie in this day and age, Johnny Depp, and uber-yummy Orlando Bloom without long blonde hair. By golly! I think I'll be seeing it when it hits theatres!

--Sunday, April 6, 2003

I had the strangest dreams last night. The first one was a "bad" dream ((not quite a nightmare)) that woke me up at 3 AM ((I watched an old episode of SNL until I went to sleep...)). The next was actually a dream within a dream. I dreamt that I was watching the last episode of American Idol 2. Clay won, which made me very happy ^^ But then I woke up on this bus. My sister was there. For some reason we watched Gravitation, but it wasn't the Gravi that I knew. First, it had a bad Engrish dub (yes, Engrish, folks) and second, it was a musical. Yuki couldn't sing and was scary. He kept shoving Shuichi off to the side, scolding him for joining in. What a diva...

Aside from my whack, psychologically releasing dreams, nothing much has happened. But I am up for some social bloggage.

Poor Amie...I remember when I took SATs...they sucked. I, too, hadn't taken a math course during senior year ((Algebra II/Trig did quite a number on me...though the Trig was actually easier than Algebra II)) and I didn't do so well on the math section. But I did well on the English parts ^^ English is simple. Well, I hope you did well on your test! And on BSU, you should probably register as soon as possible. The deadline has already past and BSU has rolling admissions, but the available spaces fill up quickly.

Congratulations, Tsu-chan!

More amusing X art by Ko-san! I love her pictures...they're so funny. I have the misfortune of being "serious" and possessing a super "artsy" mind when it comes to my fanart. The outcomes are these tragic or strange pieces. Stupid tragedy. Fecking strangeness.

*blinks* Um, the dead guy in Ko's young Seishirou pic looks like Mulder...MULDER! NO!!! ;_; ((where's Scully?))

WOO HOO!!! A new chapter of Yami no Matsuei at Sakura Crisis! *huggles* Muraki is in this chapter ^____^ And in one scene, there's FFVII characters in the background (Cloud, Tifa, and Vincent). I *heart* Yami no Matsuei.

I watched X-files last night. Mulder *heart* I've decided that I want to get the dvd box sets so that whenever there's an episode on tv, I'll be able to date it going by Scully's hairstyle. Or Mulder's. Either way. I wish they would show the last episode (granted it is two hours long...). As far as last episodes run, the series finale of X-Files was probably among the best one I've ever seen ((counting animes, television series, and tv miniseries)). The Truth was a date. That made a lot of sense. They (Mulder and Scully) knew that there was going to be an alien invasion, but they did not know when. Knowing when is scarier than knowing what. Sort of like how people said that the world was going to end in 1999 back in the dark ages, ect, ect. The concept of the world ending was indeed scary, but knowing when it was going to end was even scarier, especially to the people in the 20th century who believed it. But the world didn't end ^^ The world can't end. Humanity can cease to exist, but the earth will go on alone in existence.

Dammit. The Kamui version of Yakusoku is playing now. It makes the above rant depressing and sad. Damn you, Kamui, and your angst! *shakes fist at Kamui*

--Saturday, April 5, 2003

Friday was a busy day. I went down to Dayton ((lol, I love how that makes me sound like a fucking hick)) for (1) a date with Cayman *heart* and (2) a ballet at the new Schuster Center. My date was awesome. We just walked around Dayton, first going to the comic book store in hopes that some fanboys would be there ((I was in a lovely spring dress and looked yummy. We wanted to see the poor deprived fanboys' reactions)), but sadly, there weren't any fanboys in there aside from the clerks. My plan was to go up to a random fanboy. Hopefully the conversation would have turned out like this...

Fox: *acting ditsy, shy, and giggly* Hi. I was wondering if you could tell me about [insert name of popular American comic book series that I usually criticize]. I know practically nothing on it. *pouty lips, innocent look*
Fanboy: G-g-g-guh-guh-girl!

We're mean people.

Next we went to this nice cafe in the Oregon District that Carla and I went to before. After that, I got the insane notion in my head that we should hike all the way up the market on Webster Street that they always have on Wednesdat through Sunday. Bad idea. Webster Street in relation to the Oregon District (which is on Fifth Street) is too fucking far. Especially in heels >.< And the market was closed. ;_;

After that we pretty much walked around until we decided to go to Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers for dinner. I got honked at, which made Cayman feel proud O.o At 7:30, we parted ways at the Schuster Center.

The ballet was okay. It was a very Americanized version of Robin Hood set in 1776 and had a very weak ending (Robin and his men go off to fight in the American Revolution just after his marriage to Maid Marian- I'm sorry- Mary Madden). The music was great, the dancers were pretty cool ((pretty boy ballerinas *_* There should be an anime for male ballet dancers!)), but the overall tale was okay.

There was a kick ass thunderstorm as we drove home. Super dangerous. The lightning was coming down in huge streaks and was quite blinding. If I had been anywhere except driving home with my peoples in the middle of it, I would have loved the storm even more.
