tragedy in black and white

Added a new link: Essence of Purity ((yaoi scans- what a surprise...)). They feature Kouri no Mamono no Monogatari. I've already read a side story of KnMnM- "Rapunzel", which can be found at Game over or Continue.

Am down to my last pack of pocky [out of the six that Cayman gave to me along with yummy TB artbook]. Ohohohoho! It lasted over a week X3 Carla and Cayman were taking bets on how long it would last.

And Return to the Batcave- a documentary-like comedy on the old 60's Batman- is on. Strangely, it's funny.

Ohohohoho! I got my sister interested in watching Gravitation. She has yet to see it, but I gave her a brief explanation (without directly saying that the two main character was gayer than a team of all-male colorguard) and she seemed interested. One of the first things she asked me was "Does this have fighting in it?". Lol Cute. Really. My sister is very amusing when she's not getting on my nerves with her constant resentment of our mother and pop culture.

I'm quick to forgive and forget most people for their faults, so everything's pretty much A-OK with me and my sister. Turns out, she was waiting for her boyfriend to call. OI! If she just would have told me that she was waiting for a call, I would have been okay with getting offline and doing something else. As it was, I thought she was being weird and selfish.

I am such a whore for manga scans. I haven't seen an anime in a little less than a month (the last anime being Gravitation), but in the same amount of time, I have read a shitload of scanlated mangas and a few official, liscenced manga (like the last book of Wish, which was very good). I need to save up and buy the third X dvd still, but that's proving more difficult than ever. I get money, I have to spend it on something important or on some fuck who needs a favour because they forgot to pick up something on their own time with their own money. T_T Febuary broke me- Valentine's Day, my six month anni with Cayman, losing my job to my boss's fucking daughter....Damn you, Febuary, and your awkward number of days. I'm hoping March is better, since the only recognized holiday is St. Patrick's Day (and nobody gives presents on St. Paddy's). *knocks on wood*

Anyhow. Manga scan whore. Me. I love manga more than anime. Usually in the original manga, the style is more detailed and prettier (anybody ever compared the style of the Ynm manga to the anime? The manga is prettier and shits detail out the wazoo. That's probably why it takes the mangaka such a frickin long time to draw one issue. She's cut down to four issues a year because her style has changed to something more complex and she's a detail freak). Plus, I see more of the mangaka's personality in the manga than in the anime. You don't have random wacky little comments for scenes in animes (except Gravi....Gravi was hilarious and very much like the manga). I like hte whacky artist's notes ^_^

Maybe I'll watch an anime today. It's Sunday and there's usually nothing to do on Sundays ((as Morrissey now pops into my head- Everyday is like Sunday....Everyday is silent and gray...- Morrissey, I love you *_*)).
....
And my sister just came in and demanded that I not be online. *grumble* Okay, I bought that fucking boutanniere for her with my own money, I didn't complain when she insisted hanging out in my room to watch SNL and surf the Net last night when I really wanted to sleep, so why the fuck won't she give this one thing to me. Gah! My sister is such a taker! She never gives and she never thinks about others unless it has some indirect or direct effect or benefit for her.

I went to this really spiffy market on Webster Street down in Dayton on Saturday. It was really cool. There were all these differeny shops and food stands. My favourite was this ickle hole in the wall that selled food and other merchandise from England :3 I hope to go back there some time when I have more money.

We got baby ducks. They're so cute! They chirp and they waddle and they stand in the middle of their water dish... WAI!!! Duckies :Þ *quacks softly*

I'm feeling cynical in an intelligent and strangely productive way. I actually got a review worth replying to on an old fanfic of mine that I neglected to take off FFNET for the sake of the fans who may actually like it. I was editting it and I will repost it, maybe even finish it. I think I stopped because the fic was just getting too cliche and tedious (it was the X Survey one). All I have to do is avoid repetition and too much cliche and overused fanon, maybe add a few new elements, and there will be a better chance that I will finish the fic.

Anyways. Bleh. Meh. Feh. ...Eh? I have to get film for slides and such. 5 to 10 of my peices from my porfolio have to be on slides (and only slides). 35mm slides, at that. So I'll need to use the 35mm camera Becca got for Christmas, and that needs some special type of battery (lithium or something like that). Really, I probably don't have to, but using the correct materials and machinery makes me feel more comfortable and confident about my task.

Reading "Love Mode". Am addicted to "Love Mode". Not as addictive as "Ludwig II". Need more "Ludwig II".

I got my glasses today :3 They're nice, I like them, ect, ect. Also got a temporary job helping my mom in her office (she's behind on some work and it keeps on piling up). She's giving me $10/day to enter/edit data and act as your basic office gopher. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. $10 isn't all I'm getting out of this; Mom offered to teach me more about MS Excel and and other nefarious Microsoft-related programs, and she'll pay for my lunch if/when I forget to pack. Considering the impact that this experience will have on jobhunts, this is a very good deal.

I was going to rant on the President's speech tonight (I actually listened to it...ugh), but it's midnight and I still need to take a shower in the morning (we got home super late tonight). The basics: Bush is an idiot. He side-stepped important questions that had to do with the economy and the well-being of civilians at home and overseas if there is a war. He was ill-prepared to talk about anything other than his precious war ((I think his overuse of "um" and "uh" gave that away)).

Addition: Oh yeah. Ball State FINALLY sent me an application for their art program. The deadline for art scholarships and stuff was March 1st ((and they're sending me this stuff now?)), but I still have to turn in 5 to 10 slides if I want to get accepted into it. No problem! It may not be too late necessarily to apply for an art scholarship. I remember Uni. of Saint Francis held a $2000 art scholarship till I took my SATs and had the results (and got accepted- last year). That was about over a month after I showed them my porfolio. I'm going to try for a scholarship :P

The grim wastelands are cold. Tengo frio! *tries to keep warm* Spring, where are you? I like it better when the Spring is here. That's when the fruit trees blossom. We have cherry trees, too. Ke ke ke. I'm going to try to dye the cherry blossoms pink. *smirk*

Addition (6:27 PM): Happy Mardi Gras. I forgot that it was Mardi Gras today. If I were in New Orleans...Ke ke ke...

*kicks self* I slept in >.< I can't believe I slept in today. I was supposed to go down with Mom and Becca so I could pick up my glasses and I totally disregarded my alarm clock this morning and slept in. Ugh. That means I'm couped up in this house for another long, uneventful day. Maybe I'll put on all my coats and sweaters and take a walk outside in the grim wastelands.

Darkness and Kamui bored me, so I opted for Ludwig II. Lighter colours aren't so hard on the eyes.

Fox is an 18-year old voyeur. She's an anime/manga fan and draws in that style. She's a music fanatic, liking anything from classical to rock, with the exception of most rap, a lot of the country out there, and "nu-metal". She can appear to be anything from super-nice and talkative to Evil Emo Chick(TM). Her special helper is a Naked Chibi Treize with Wings who is as evil as she is, and her muse is the ever-underappreciated Bob the Virgin Incubus (who is gay).

Layout Info

Version Tragedy
From just reading two chapters of Ludwig II, I was hooked. This layout is a homage to that series. The picture was borrowed from scans found at Obsession, which is an excellent site for yaoi scans. The actual life of Ludwig II is a sad and fascinating one. He was the Mad King of Bavaria (aka the Dream King). When he was 41 years old, he committed suicide or he was murdered (nobody knows exactly what happened). His body was found floating in a lake. For a better, though condensed, version of Ludwig II's life, go here. Nee, isn't this a nice break from dark layouts?
