This was, er, "borrowed" from Amie-sempai, who declared me and Stacy Pippin and Merry. You have no idea how much the idea of us being those two hobbits amuses me :D

----------

1) You, Legolas, alone in one room. What do you do?
*glomptacklehugglemolest, then say...* "Wait a second...you're not Elrond!...Oh well" *glomptacklehugglemolestsomemore*

2) You, Arwen, alone in one room. What do you do?
Challenge her to a duel. Because I can.

3) We sadly lost 3 when he fell into....ummm...ok, we just lost him.
Who? Gandalf? HOLY SHIT! NO!!! He's my favourite character in the whole damn Fellowship! Oh well...at least he transcends to a higher level and returns. ((anybody sensing a comparison to those monster-fighting animes or Dragonball Z? SSJ2 Gandalf, anyone?))

4) What gift would you ask of the Elves?
Pocky. And lots of it. Or Galadriel's ring X3

5) What race would you most like to be:
most likely a Rivendell elf (ever read the Hobbit? those guys were so genki). Just anything good-natured and genkier than hell.

6) Honestly...would you keep it secret, and safe?
Depends on what it is. If it was something like "Oh, Amie-sempai has THE ring of power!", then my lips are sealed. But if it were something like "Aragorn is shagging Legolas on the side!", then I'd tell it through the hills and the valley ("O tra-la-la-lally!").

7) If you would keep it secret and safe, would you be the Ring-bearer, or would you swear to protect the Ring-bearer?
I'd most likely protect the ring and its bearer, but since this quiz is so single-minded *points to next question*, then I guess I have to take up the role as Ringbearer.

8) Ok, you are the Ring-bearer, who makes up the Fellowship with you (of your friends) and if they’re enough like a character, say who they'd be: Wow. Now I have to think of some odd number of people to cast into roles...
Cayman: Samwise Gamgee, just because I know he'd follow me to the ends of the bloody earth even at the request that he doesn't follow me.
Amie: Merry because she's intelligent but still fun.
Stacy: Pippin :D
Becca: Gandalf, because she can get me to continue on even when I'm dishearted.
Carla: Gimli, because she's short (gommeeeen!!!!) and cracks these funny jokes unintentionally.
Blyss: Legolas- she has similar puppy eyes
Cat: Galadriel (( yeah yeah, she isn't in the fellowship, but Cat would be like her))
Nate: Aragorn (because I needed somebody and Nate could probably pull off looking like a younger, lighter Aragorn)
Tom: Boromir (because we "lost" him to an army. Ok, so it wasn't an army of Urak-hai...it was the US army)

9) Ok, you're not the Ring-bearer (but you are in the Fellowship like above), who of your friends would be the Ring-bearer?
OOhhhh...toughie. Amie, maybe...Or possibly Becca.

10) Are you evil? Evil enough to become a tool of Sauron?
Damn. You guessed my true nature.

11) If you had to be one of the nasty/evil creatures (i.e. the Balrog, the Cave Troll, an orc, Ring Wraith, etc) what one would you be, and why? Balrog! Come on! It would be so cool to be a demon of the ancient world! And I'd get a whip!

12) If you didn’t know the Ring was The One Ring, but you knew it made you disappear and such, what would you do with it?
Meh. I'd really have no use for it. Why would I want to be invisible and sneak around? I would most likely just give it away.

13) Pippin and Merry - are they really ok guys, or just big nuisances?
They're fucking hilarious!

14) Who kicks the most ass: Gandalf, Legolas, Strider, or Gimli?
ELROND! His actor was Agent Smith in the Matrix and a drag queen in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert! Plus the character himself is just cool!

15) Would you rather be an Archer, Wizard, or Ranger?
Well, I wouldn't mind being a Wizard, but at the same time, I would love to an archer

16) Who's your favorite character?
I think this has already been established- ELROND!!!

17) Who’s your favorite hobbit?
The Inseperable Amazing Duo, Merry and Pippin!

18) If, for some odd reason, Aragorn and Legolas were to get in a fight, who do you think would win (and why)?
Legolas. Nobody can resist his puppy eyes!

19) Do you think the race of men is weak?
Yup.

20) Does it make you sad to know the Elves are leaving these shores?
Yeah....TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!

21) React to this: Frodo lives!
But how many digits does he keep?

22) If you've read the book and seen the movie, did you like both, or do you think one was better than the other?
I need to read the books ^^;;

23) Do you think the movie was an insult to Tolkien’s genius?
I dunno. I haven't read the books yet to make a good enough assumption on that.

24) Any problem with the cast?
Nah....they were all good lads and lasses.

25) Honestly...do you think Liv Tyler did a good job as Arwen, or are you glad she’s in the movie just because she’s hot?
I'm not a big Liv Tyler fan but at the same time, I just don't care. Arwen isn't very major as far as characters go it seems.

26) What do you think of the choice to cut Tom Bombadil?
Well, they had to make cuts somewhere. The regular release is 3 minutes under three hours long. The special edition is 28 or so minutes over 3 hours. I don't think people would really want to sit through over three hours for the sake of including a character that really contributes nothing to the movement of the plot.

27) Was the Balrog all you had hoped for?
Visually, it was awesome.

28) Any other changes from the book to the movie that irritate you?
I really don't have the right to state any changes that irritated me, since I don't know what the changes were.

29) How about that special-edition DVD, pretty cool, or no?
The Special Edition kicks ass! Over 6 hours of fun! My whole family seems to agree with me on this one too; my mom or my sister always watch it.

30) Lastly, what was your favourite bit of the movie?
For Fellowship of the Ring: The opening scene with Cate Blanchett as the narrator and the history of the ring. And the Moria bit and where Galadriel gives a present to each member of the Fellowship.
For Two Towers: Helm's Deep was pretty cool.

I've finally seen "Help!" XD Ringo wearing a bling and being chased by a bunch of people who either want to sacrafice him or take the ring for world domination purposes is funny, oddly.

I recieved a disk with pictures on it from Cayman via Becca-mail. I have to post some of these! ...but I can do that later X3 The pictures document his weekend up here, from Cayman and the lace teddy to Bob the Builder trying to kill me and more ((er, it was an interesting 9 days)).

For those who don't know, Bob the Builder is, in theory, a Triad, or a member of the Japanese Mafia. The theory dates back to summer, when Marko told us they couldn't show Bob the Builder in Japan because he had only 3 fingers and that was a sign that somebody was in the Japanese Mafia. We just expanded on that rumour and had fun with it. So. Yeah. Bob the Builder is a Triad.

I fancy Elves.
King of the Elves, it can't get much better baby.
Which culture from Middle-Earth do you fancy?
By Hannah and Dani

Confession: I prefer Elrond over Legolas. I know. I should be ashamed :(

I've had "Space Oddity" (David Bowie!) stuck in my head for most of the morning! Go me!

Conan O'Brian was on The Andy Richter Show last night! It was so funny ((speaking as a Conan fan; I really don't watch Andy Richter unless there's nothing else on, which is hardly ever the case)). Conan was so insane XD Then again, Conan is always some weird degree of insane...

Some LoTR fun for everybody:

If LoTR had been written by someone else (a thread at Straight Dope message board)

LoTR Monty Python style (another thread at said forum)

Monty Python's Fifteen-Minute Silmarillion ((ok, so it's another Tolkien book...))

I was up last night reading summaries and scripts for the episodes of Revolutionary Girl Utena that I haven't seen (found here). I must say that I like the movie's ending a bit better. The main character turning into a car and escaping from a false world with the woman she loves in the driver's seat is just the greatest. There are some things that need to be admired about the television ending: it screws over the expectations of the viewers :) I'm afraid that I'm terribly fond of these types of animes (which explains my love for Evangelion); they're my guilty pleasure.

Grrr. Damn Arashi (and CLAMP). She's the exception to your theory. Man! CLAMP always does this! Just when you think you have everything figured out, they throw a curve at you and make things more muddled and difficult to figure out. I think that they don't want the fans to "know it all". A weird bunch of broads, those ladies are.

Amie-sempai, that's a brilliant idea. I should get a DevianArt account. I was thinking about it for a while a few months back, but I guess I forgot or dropped the idea. OOH! I like what you drew!!! It's really good! :D

I'm such a dork. Last night, I took the romanji-ized version of "Virtual Star" off of Animelyrics and tried to translated it myself using a little Japanese-English pocket dictionary, an online J-E dictionary, a book on Japanese grammar, and whatever else I knew of the Japanese language. It was so friggin hard! But I enjoyed myself :) I eventually found the correct translation at the Utena Encyclepedia. I wasn't too far off in my translations. It would have helped if I had the kanji for some of the words, though. Plus I translated some phrases differently. Like "Tochi no ko". I translated that as "Child of the Land" whereas they translated it as "Native Child"- both aren't too dissimilar. Nevertheless, I had fun trying my hand at translating ^^

And now "Virtual Star" is stuck in my head again. Go me!

I think I'll go ogle at some of the pictures in the X [zero] artbook.

Which Ringwraith are You?
By Lisa

I've had "Virtual Star" stuck in my head all day :D I need a theme song...

Saw Gangs of New York with Cayman, Becca, and Mom last night, so I totally missed OSU kicking Miami's ass >.< The movie was great, though, as expected of a film by Martin Scorcese. Daniel Day Lewis did a frighteningly fantastic job in his role (very convincing).

I woke up in a weird mood today that none of the music I have fits with. So went out and bought a couple used cds that SO fit my mood right now: Angelfish and DollsHead, two obscure chick rock bands (well, female singers being backed up by an all-male band) that are no longer around. Angelfish was the name of the band Shirley Manson was in before Garbage. DollsHead is very Garbage-esque.

Bruce also gave me a sampler of Best of David Bowie XD *hums Phish's "David Bowie"*

And now, a pic from the X [zero] artbook, bastardized and tweaked with by yours truly.

Um, sorry if it doesn't look right...When it came to the words, I just didn't bother trying...

Addictive webcomic *_*

Nova Next Exit.

It's about two bands- a boy band and a girl band- but the focus is mainly on the boys. It's very amusing and quirky. I'm going to have to add it to my webcomics list :3

I had to work with James all day today...er, yesterday (I just noticed that it's past midnight). It was fun. Only two people came in during the two hours we were working, but we had a lovely conversation that went from comic books to 80s teens movies versus 90s teen movies to music (mainly the Seatle grunge scene and how Nirvana wasn't as good as everybody gives them credit for). We agreed that 80's teen movies were superior 90's teen flicks (they're more realistic and the topics actually vary), and that it was probable that Courtney really did kill Kurt or at least had him killed. I like talking to Cult Classic nuts :)

Well, Notre Dame lost to North Carolina State in the Gator Bowl on Wednesday. Damn. ND is usually a pretty good team too. I hadn't heard too much about them this season, though. All people were talking about at work were OSU. Admittably, OSU is having one helluva season (undefeated, 13-0). They play tonight in the Fiesta Bowl (national championships) against Miami. I hope I'm able to catch it. I'm not a fan of the high school sports or the pros; college-level sports are what do it for me (well, I do admit, pro soccer is probably one of the only pro-sports I'll watch, but only Ireland and England, because I love their fans to death, especially Ireland's).

I was thinking back one what Becky Marie blogged about some odd days back on the difference between the Angels and the Seals being that the Seals have a passion for something. I dunno. I was bored and the topic amuses me because I figured out what Subaru's passion would be: to be killed by the only person left in his life who is special to him. Subaru loses that passion when Seishirou dies; any chances of Seishirou killing him are now gone. Look at the whole spiel he gives to Kamui in Vol. 9, then (if you have the scanlations or a translation) skip ahead to the volume where Seishirou "kicks the bucket". From there, Subaru's somewhat twisted passion becomes very clear. Bleh. Just a thought.

Happy New Years, everybody. I guess I should make a list of resolutions, but I was never good at keeping those. I don't think there is anybody who is good at keeping New Years Resolutions...I'm just going to live and whatever the assumed ineffable plan of Fate throws at me, I'll deal with it in my own way.

Quick thought on X Vol. 9's Character Side Story:

Kusanagi, you rock. It's sort of ironic that you're in Japan's Self Defense Force and you're a Dragon of Earth. It almost seems wrong...

On a similar thought, there needs to be more Yuuto, dammit.

I decided to move a day early because I'm going to be gone from 8:35 tonight to 3:00 AM. I'm going to some youth group thing with Cayman and Becca. There's going to be bowling and a whole bunch of other things. I'm not apart of the youth group thing, but Becca went there a couple of times and they consider her one of them (it's the youth group at my stepdad's church, which is Protestant...Becca is Catholic).

I need to find a new comment system or something where people can leave comments. My old one (Haloscan) doesn't support Pitas (damn), so I would have had to enter the comment option manually -.- I'm thinking of getting a tagboard or putting up a guestbook for people instead of the comment system. The con on the tagboard is that you can only type so much (a lot of the people who commented in my old journal left long rants). I can really see no con for the guestbook, though. Give me a few days or weeks and everything should be peachy keen here. Just like home.

I going to explain a few things now. First the layout, because I am proud of it. It was originally supposed to be a comic-esque page where Subaru is ego-tripping and sees a silhouette of who we can all assume is Seishirou (dead Seishirou). Unfortunately, I didn't like the outcome of the 75% of the page (it was four panels), so I kept the one panel I did like and ditched the rest. The decision to use that classic pic of Subaru impaling Seishirou came when I was listening to Counting Crows' "Long December". The song fit the idea that I formed in my mind over what I wanted the theme to be (regret and hope for a better year). After tweaking the pictures, putting them where I wanted and adding text, this is the final result.

The title of this new journal is Voyeuristic Intentions. I stole it from a line in "The Time Warp" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It describes me, in a way. I'm a bit of a nymphomaniac and very much a voyeur, so of course any intentions I have when I create fanfiction, fanart, and bastardizing parodies are generally voyeuristic. I just hope that nobody got to this title first -.x Then I would be a bit embarassed (I try to be an original person).

Layout

New blog, er, pita. I decided upon a theme using Subaru and Seishirou because I haven't done one in a long time, and I absolutely love those two and their fucked up relationship. I drew the pic to the left (whee!) and I stole the pic at the right from the manga. The lines are from "Long December" by the Counting Crows. I feel that the song is appropriate for a new year and for the main character in the layout, Subaru. In the new year, we make these promises and resolutions that we never really accomplish, and we convince ourselves that this coming year will be better than the last. Subaru, in X time, has had one helluva year. It's the End of the World, he has to kill the one person that gave some sort of purpose to his life (a negative purpose, but still a purpose), and overall, he's been through hell in a hand basket. On top of everything else, he's the new gaurdian of Tree-san. As I said, one helluva a year.
