The week is about to close and I'm starting to review the things that have happened the past few months during my stint at YouthQuake:

One:
The 15 weeks (plus this week) that I've been working I have managed to contribute at least one of two articles in every Friday's issue. Something I did not achieve last time when I was at YouthQuake.

Two:
I have managed to see the bigger picture of journalism where it isn't just about handing in your articles and call it a day. Now, I guard my words more (in case the subs come chasing after me) and I have caught some of the concerns that a paper has about readership and marketing.

Three:
I am more serious. Last year, it was just a part time job. This year, I have approached this three-month stint at YQ as a serious venture. In fact, I put on the mind of someone who wanted a career out of this line because I joined YQ with the hopes of learning more about writing and perhaps one day join full time. I have never been so obsessed with perfection before in my writing. Never have I cross-analysed my articles so much.

Four:
I'm rich!!! *chuckle* With the amount of articles and free CDs I've been getting at YQ, I have at least RM2000 to call my own. Of course, that means I have put a minimum of RM50 to each article I have written so far (I have currently 44 in print since Feb) but I know a number will exceed that RM50 minimum mark I put so when I start getting my cheques from NST, I'll be freakin' rich and start payin' off some debts I have.

Five:
I LOVE WRITING!!! Even after going through a time when Hisham's voice would just make me jump, the gastric and migraine trips, even the late nights and stress I get out of the job, it's worth it 101%. No other job has given me this much satisfaction. To see my words in print is an honour and it brings me a step closer to one day going for even greater heights in writing. I have plans for my future and writing in NST is only one of the many when it comes to my love for writing. Many think I'm making a bad choice and hop from what I've studied to another completely different field, but as long as I'm happy with it and it gives me job satisfaction - I'm goin' for it dude!

This Friday, I'm catching The Day After Tomorrow's press screening. My last movie with YQ before I start college next Monday. Somehow, I wish I was still working...
