Dead politicians are sometimes more fun that way.

The Amish in Wisconsin refuse to curb their horses that pull their buggies. They counter that those new-fangled autos pollute the environment, too. They are right.

This had me totally laughing out loud. Do not visit if your boss can see your screen.

Maxim magazine this month ranked the best cities in the good ole USA. Except, they ranked 13 different cities as #1. Except, they sent the Detroit edition to Philadelphia.

Rest in peace, you cute doggie. We'll miss you, especially your fake growl when I gave you a hug.

Did you watch the Oscars last night? I stayed up until Amelie lost Best Foreign Film. What the hell is wrong with them? A Beautiful Mind won Best Picture? Halle Berry won Best Actress? They're just WRONG. Someone should ask me first about these things.

Just for that, I give you Psychedelic Republicans.

So we went to the doctor's office yesterday and had a very wonderful ultrasound! Here are the pictures we got:

This is the coolest picture! The baby's head is on the right, with a little hand in front of the mouth, and the torso is on the left.

A little hand with little fingers.

In this one you can really see the bones of the flexed arm, on the right, and the bent leg, on the left. The head is on the right.

What a cutie! I loved seeing the little heart beating.

That pink background was driving me pepto.

What does the Earth look like right now from the Sun? Pretty neat.

Get your stolen property back at The Property Room. Well, you can bid on it, anyway.

A very cute idea: The Human Clock. Then, there's the Industrious Clock, which is also very clever.

My people of Binghamton, who of you remembers Jef Czekaj? I found this completely by CHANCE. I am not kidding. I was browsing through the Comics Journal randomly. It's definitely not a Scatman, but it's something.

Well, friends, I'm putting in a new entry just for one link: a new brand of toilet paper. And, it's real.

Well, so much for the semi-weekly hopes and aspirations. Turns out that too much was going on for me to keep up. What was happening? Well, I have revealed it to my near and dear and now I'll reveal it to you:

I am pregnant!

It's very exciting! I am now in week 17. The baby is due in early August!

Also, we moved from NYC to western Massachusetts, which was an enormous huge big undertaking. Duane started a new job in Connecticut on February 1st, and was living on Doc and Libby's couch for a while. We found an apartment, lost it due to the landlady's flaky weirdness, and then found another apartment. I packed up Brooklyn in about 4 days, got a big 15 foot truck and drove it up here.

Whew. It happened so fast. The first night we were together in the new place, which was actually Valentine's Day, we were wondering if we had just made a huge mistake. But since then, we've been exploring the town, and it's getting better and better every day.

So, there you have it. Pretty good reasons for slacking off, right? I'll try to be better, but I'm not promising anything...

Happy New Year! FavaBean will continue on a semi-weekly basis from now until whenever...

When I was in grade school, I remember seeing kids tapping the table with their fingers and working out math problems that way. How did they do that? Turns out that they were using their hands as an abacus. It's called Chisenbop, and I still can't figure it out.

Blode and the Giant Bee.

More Muppet fun - the Chef-en-eizer!

When I saw this website, it just made me so happy: Found Magazine. I have a few things that I'm going to send to them.

And, for the finale, a collection of websites devoted to all the different Dr. Pepper knock-offs across America:
Not Quite What the Doctor Ordered
Kibo's Fake Dr. Pepper Roundup and
Wouldn't You Like to be a Pepper Too?

Enjoy.
