It's the first of December!!! And I shall announce out loud.... I AM STILL PENGANGGURING!!! Oh well...... I'm thinking of it as a looooong involuntary holiday with no pay. Hahaha....... the only thing that doesn't belong in a holiday is the lack of company during the holiday. Now I know how Lilian must have felt while we were all studying and she stuck at home shopping for tiles. Sigh..... I'm quite bored.......... sometimes I almost wish that the Lilian, Cindy, Yu San THX system was installed in my house....... almost....... Didn't wake up too late today.... although I felt like sleeping till the afternoon again.... my aching body didn't want to move. But after an hour of struggling with conciousness, I dragged myself out of bed. I watched Rat Race today. It was funny! Really dumb but funny nonetheless....... I know I am going to kena for this, but I like that poor cow that got "kidnapped" heheh.... poor cow.... eyes buldging!! Good casting too!! They got most of the comedy actors/actresses into good roles. Even Seth Green aka Oz from Buffy played a rather good role as a tough guy (minus all those "accidents"). Oh before I forget, Good Luck to all INTI students having their final exams from today until coming Friday!! Good luck people!! Add Oil! Add Oil! More Bull, more bull!! Hey, worked for me..... Yay!!! Sandra ajak me main CS tomorrow!!!!!!
When I first got online today I saw Jean's ICQ message, thus upon checking her blog I went.... eh?? What's going on?
Anyway, if you are reading this Jean, why would you want to cut yourself off from the rest of the world? Apparently a lot of us don't care and still want you to remain in contact with us. Come on.... YCCians stick together (I should hope so!!) Today I moved back upstairs because I took a serial mouse from my mom's office to use instead. I'm still waiting for that Gateway engineer.......geez.... customer service never seems to be number one on a business's priority list. Sigh.... at least it's free :) Oh yeah, I got a rejection letter from Arthur Anderson today. They said I could not be placed in a suitable position in the company. Oh well.... moving on.... besides, I don't care that much. On my point of view, their loss, not mine........cheh wah!! Dang..... a little exercise and aku sudah sakit otot. (From yesterday) so I have to cut down on my routine today. Sheesh..... I am soooooo out of shape. Anyone want to whack me back into shape?? Anyone with big bats?
Firstly I would like to apologise for my mood last night. I didn't have such a great day
and thus had not much of a mood to enter much into my blog. Besides, I was on my downstairs
computer, ol'slow but steady. Oh yes, I have also gave up my credit card to my dad because it is just about expired.
According to him I won't be getting a new one because the free supplementary card was for this
year. So it was decided that my card be turned into scrap while my older brother Terence,
will get a renewed card. However, take note that my older brother has never once used the
credit card since day one. Today, I got a call from a Gateway Computer Engineer, I THINK according to him, he should
have come today but then he received the wrong parts for my computer. Sigh.... how incompetent
can some companies be? Oh yes, the "I THINK" part comes in because the fella has really
horrible english. I think I put his words together the right way...... sheesh.... I also watched "A Knight's Tale" today on VCD. The sudden influx of VCDs at my house is the
result of my father picking up VCD titles to help return to an uncle of mine.... Anyway, the
movie was based on the medieval ages, which I love, and I was interested on how they reproduce
jousting tournaments. Okay, about the Jocelyn, William's love interest..... I thought that she was a really b****.
How could you ask someone you like to get himself/herself hurt just to prove one's love? True,
it was from a time of chivalry, but still, one minute: Lose the tournament, next minute: Win
the tournament. Sheesh..... besides, she wasn't that pretty anyway!! It could be the VCD's
quality, but I felt she wasn't the "stunning beauty" that she was supposed to portray. Here's another thing I didn't like..... were those jousting shields?? Those dinky little
pieces of metal placed on one's arm? I'm amazed those people can actually take that sort of
punishment!!! I'm sure everyone's seen the real shields before..... more protection if you
ask me. Oh well, it was fun watching the jousting and the swordplay. Not a movie I would go for
in the theaters. But what was said was very true, most of the preview to the movie was from
the ending of the movie.... takes a lot of kick out of it. From tomorrow onwards, my older brother will once again be waking me up early in the
morning to make me send him to the LRT station. My mom insists that he wakes me up because
technically "I'm jobless". Sheesh, rub it in. Now must wake up early everyday.... But on the productive side, I have done quite a bit of cleaning today (since I don't have
much to do anyway). I washed my car, inside and outside :) now it looks soooo clean!!! But
then once the workers start tomorrow on my neighbours house, it'll be covered with dirt again.
Sigh.... Lilian, can I throw away those lips?? PLEEEEEAAAASSSSSEEEEEEE? This attitude reminds me of my SPM stress where I just started cleaning the house because
I didn't want to look at my books anymore. Oh, I found out that the coming Monday is also a holiday. This information is courtesy of
Cindy Boon, the holiday watcher :). She loves her holidays so much. Whoopee? For me, everyday's a
holiday which I spend without the company of others. So it no longer matters to me.
My PC needs to replace its motherboard!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!! After spending hours on the phone with the Gateway support, I finally manage to convince him that I did everything possible to make sure that it is a hardware failure. The technician will come within 5 days he says.... 5 DAYS!!! I went for an interview at EXPO holdings, they are a desktop publishing company that deals with things like what Editorial Board does but on a larger scale. However, they are looking for a HTML, Javascript, VBScript and XML programmer. I think I impressed the lady there.... but then I think that I would not get the job because I answered 1700 to the question "knowing what the job requirements are, what do you feel that the lowest salary you go for is?" Then to be told later that people are offering 1400 and even a 1200 to be hired!!! Sigh..... somemore got loads of applicants..... Then more and more people telling me I'm getting fat..... sigh.... must stop eating and start excercising!! Need willpower again.... I stop here....no mood
Oh no!!! MY MOUSE STOPPED WORKING!!! Upon further investigation, my mouse is fine..... but the mouse port was gone bonkers and
has now totally stopped working! I'm afraid that the keyboard will suffer the same fate soon
as well.... so how am I going to do my net surfing? Dang.... I could use the keyboard, but
that would be very very tedious..... (press TAB a lot of times).....on the other hand, I
could use my old computer downstairs..... hmmmm.... I'll decide later. Now, I am actually
typing this entry on this computer because my older brother is totally discouraged from using
the pc while the mouse is gone. Reminder to self...... call Gateway, make noise, make lots
of noise. Prepare to send the PC to them at Jalan Imbi (if I'm not mistaken of course). Sigh..... I was just about to reinstall my antivirus software as well....got it uninstalled
and then.....BAM!!! Mouse totally can't use anymore.... I wasn't sure whether the problem
is a virus or just the plain old hardware problem.... YU SAN!!! Your PC just fix my PC go die! ........ oh well....... could be worse....... a kitchen sink might have fell on my head. Today I had an interview with Scicom somewhere in front of KLCC. Would have gotten there
faster if the directions given by them weren't steering me towards Ascott Hotel. That would
be fine...... if I wasn't coming from KLCC itself!! Bah.... so instead of going in the direction
of 3 o'clock, I went 6 o'clock. Oh well, mistake easily rectified.... note to self again:
Check the map yourself before following instructions. Scicom is a customer relations service company that mainly deals with customer help desks
for telecommunications companies such as Nokia, Motorola and such. It handles customers in
the Asia Pacific Region and even Austrailia. Now they are expanding their services for Thailand
(saw lots of new PCs) and South Korea. However, the job they put in front of me is not the
Technical Support Professional which I actually applied for, but Lotus Notes Developer.
This job is more inclined towards IT. Programming aplenty. They use Lotus Notes as part of
their Database and to create their server. So essentially, if I get the job, I would be maintaining
the database and the server all at one go. This server is an Intranet server so it can be
accessed by the staff quicker. The interview was shorter than the Arthur Anderson one by a whole lot. However, this time
I was outnumbered. Two young ladies interviewed me, Audrea, the HR officer and Lilian, the
current Lotus Developer who is being transfered to South Korea soon. But here's the funny
thing..... Lilian, looks a lot like Wan San!! I was a bit shocked myself and I actually popped
the question : "You look a lot like my friend, do you know who Wan San is?". Nope... no
knowledge of Wan San. I couldn't get much feedback (in terms of favour) from the interview,
not that they were very stone, on the otherhand they were very friendly (geez... most new
companies have young friendly people as staff). But they did specifically say that they were
actually looking to hire a fresh graduate! Woo hoo!! On the bad side, apparently 3 other
INTI students were also interviewed....... should I be scared? After the interview went walking around KLCC, since I don't go there often I sort of
popped into certain shops (like Royal Selangor Pewters) to have a look see but always walk
out empty handed. I actually have another interview tomorrow as well..... the office is located very near my
house. Although they prefered me to walk in today but I knew I wouldn't get back in time for
it. When they say after 3, does that mean 4 o'clock following malaysian time? Anyway, this
job is for a position as an IT support executive. Oh well..... although they ask for XML
knowledge, I could always learn it up can't I? Now.....where's that book? Oh yeah....Yu San
has it. Don't need it back that soon though..... so you can keep it until your exams are over. Sniff..... I will survive without computer games......... sniff sniff! I hope the warranty covers this kind of problem....
Alrighty then, this is the second time I'm sending this entry up to Pitas, the first one sort of got eaten. First order of business, an announcement. Chuen Ian said that he went Pak Toh today (flirting)!! Unexpected thing for him to say. Well, he sorta dared me to put this announcement up (being blur about it of course) so I graciously accept the challenge! Today, I went to college to visit Yu San to make up for the Saturday which I forgot I was actually going to Seremban. So we had lunch and played CS...... her second round apparently. But before I met her, I was at SAO having a chat with Ms Koh. It was an interesting conversation......as well as having my contact details officially given to SAO for future publication (INTIMAG and INTIMALINK) troubleshooting. CS was.........bad for me....... I played soooo bad!!! I couldn't kill as I would liked to...... and I died soooo many times, I just couldn't care anymore...... I soooo couldn't play today. But then I'll have to hang up my virtual guns for a while because no one would be free to play CS in the coming weeks.... go back on a dry spell. Tomorrow I'm going for another interview!! It's near KLCC and I have to be there by 2.15 pm. Oh well.....no biggie....... at least I can't get stuck in KL with KLCC so near :)...... unless.......no ........don't want to think about that!! I'm applying for a position as a Technical Support Professional. Whatever lar!! Take a job first, continue the hunt in the mean time (if I get it of course).
First order of business, an announcement to make. CHUEN IAN said he went to "Pak Toh" (aka flirting) today!! In his own way I guess he dared me to put this up. His way trying to act blur.......won't stop me !!! Today afternoon went to visit Yu San at college to make up for the Saturday which I forgot I had to go to seremban. Oh the usual, get to college, meet for lunch and then go play CS. Before I met up with Yu San, had a nice chat with Ms. Koh..... she's a really interesting lady you know. My CS today.......well........was really bad..... couldn't shoot properly and died waaaaay lots of times.... oh well..... time to hang up my CS guns for a while again. Since no one would be free enough to play in the next coming weeks. Oh well, wish me luck people!!! Off to another interview tomorrow!! At 2.15 pm, somewhere near KLCC. As technical support professional! Must talk crap!! Talk Crap!! Ms Koh says if I have a choice, take the Arthur Anderson one if it is offered (hopefully lar!!). I however, will think about it but I would probably take up the first real offer that comes along.
Voila!! I haven't exploded yet!! In fact I slept it off quite well and I woke up kinda early today. An accomplishment for me on a Sunday. However there were a couple of side effects. My stomach went on an overdrive, I was perpetually hungry the entire day! I am not supposed to eat so much dammit! So itchy to makan....... gave in so many times too......sheesh..... now still hungry...... and I had suffient lunch and dinner!! I don't want to pop!! With my older brother home, we listened to what he did in Sandakan. Besides the fact he got sun burned in just two hours in the mountains, he didn't seem to do much "touristing" (for want of a better word). According to him, Sandakan was a rather dull place ..... (I don't really know, Alan, what are your views?) He didn't even buy soveniours!!!! Not even a rock to show us!! Okay, now Harry Potter, I keep forgetting that it was based on a children's book.... oh well, read a little of the novel. Generally it does follow the storyline, but some things make more sense now than when I watched the VCD. Overall, it's not as great (movie) as most people claim.... geez....another overrated movie in my books. Sigh..... the lemming effect is so overwhelming to most people. But the casting was actually well done. Now, should I expect much from Lord of the Rings? Hungry............ must munch........no cannot munch...... someone lock the kitchen!!! |
