Our English class was very boring today because there was a sub, but we discovered some very witty "Famous Last Words":
-- "What does this button do?"
-- "He's probably just hibernating."
-- "Let it down slowly."
-- "That's odd."
-- "Hey, that's not a violin!"
-- "I wonder where the mother bear is."
-- "Don't unplug it; it will just take a moment to fix."
-- "Are you sure the power is off?"
And my favourite...
-- "What happens if you touch these two wires tog--"
XD! XD! An interesting way to end the week. ^^; I picked up
my school photo as well, and it's horrible! I look like I'm 3 years old and far too cheerful for my own good... >.>; And finally, it's fun volunteering at the school library, honestly! Now, please explain how that works? ^_^

Happy birthday Yukino!! (I'm sorry I was a little late. ^^;)
Flipper, I understand why you're upset about the Australian dollar. The Canadian dollar is quite low as well, which makes it very expensive to travel to some places (particularly the U.K. & the U.S.) Hopefully values will pick up some day...?
And speaking of money, I borrowed $2 from my friend today because I forgot my lunch (again -_-;) And being the little business-man, he's charging me 25 cents interest. So I owe him $2.25 now. Hmph. >.>; I should be thankful however that he actually lent me money instead of letting me starve, but oh well. ^_^
It was so cold today! *pulls out mittens* I miss the warm weather already, but at least the leaves of the trees have become such lovely, warm colours...

Ah, Selene, I hope that when you do try my banana cake recipe you'll like it... or else all my gloating will be for nothing. XD I don't really have any other recipes up my sleeve at the moment however, but I wish you luck in finding one. ^^
My friend might be going to study for his final year of high school in Switzerland. He's very lucky to have the opportunity to - I think that the fee is 30 000 Swiss francs, and that doesn't even include airfare and various other costs. I'm just hoping to win the lottery sometime between today and the end of October so I can study there. *holds stuffed lucky ladybug*
Just a little note: I don't think I'll be able to blog for the rest of this week... far too much homework. ._.; Unless I have time during my lunch hour. Oh, the pains of being a student... ;_;

Hello. ^^ Blogging from school during my lunch break. Today has been a very dismal, gloomy day. Many of my friends went on a P.E. camping trip and poor things, they'll be having fun in the thunderstorms that have been forecasted for all this week. On the other hand, I'm just depressed because I didn't get a very good score on my mathematics test. ;_; It wasn't quite so bad, but I rarely get marks like that and I felt disappointed because I studied a lot for it. As mean as it is, it made me feel a teensy bit better to know that everyone in my class did not do so well either. ^^;
I forgot my lunch at home so I don't have anything to eat and I'm hungry. ._. I ate a cookie but I don't think that's enough! So I'll just have to wait until I get home; I'll take out all my sorrows by eating like a fiend. -_-; Not a very good idea, ne?

Today's the first day of autumn! I had no idea until just now, when I saw it on the calendar. I like autumn, and the brilliant colours that the leaves become, but after that is winter, and me no like winter. ._.; When I was little, it was fun playing in the snow, but now I just get colds and must wear super-bulky clothes...
I made some banana cake today, and it turned out very nicely. Since the recipe is simple, I thought I'd post it just in case there are some aspiring cooks out there!
3 large bananas
3/4 cup of sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tbsp oil
2 tsp of baking powder
1 1/2 cups of regular flour
Now: mash up your bananas; mix in all other ingredients; sprinkle a little cocoa on the top; set your oven to around 375 degrees F (or 190 degrees C, I think ^^;) and watch it bake. :9 I can't give an exact time of how long it takes because I wasn't paying attention to the time and I suppose it differs among ovens. (Let's just say around a 1/2 hr?) ...Don't worry, this was most likely a one-time event; you won't get another dose of my cooking experimentations any time soon. XP
And on an unrelated note: I wish Hotmail's junk mail filter would get rid of ACTUAL junk mail, rather than mail from my friends. >.>;

Ah, finally the weekend has arrived. I need to catch up on some sleep. ^^ Well, I'm not going on the trip to Spain in March. The first reason is that 2 of my friends aren't able to go any longer, and I didn't exactly want to spend my time there on my own. Not as much fun, ne? The other reason is because next year, (err...March 2003) the trip will be a tour of France. And seeing that I'm learning the language, and a little bit of the culture, it would benefit me more to go there. ^^v I don't mind waiting so long; it'll be somewhat like a nice ending to my high school career... and I'll have more time to save my pennies money. ^_@
Elyse-san XD... I was laughing too when I heard the story. Unfortunately my teacher didn't say what the highest score was exactly... I'm afraid to ask him as it seemed to be a painful enough experience for him, LOL (I'm being insensitive to my poor history teacher! -_-) I can't even begin to imagine, writing non stop for 3 hours and failing, where as the person next to you wrote 2 words and got the highest mark! XD I know now to steer clear of philosophy courses when I reach university. T_T
But aside from funny stories... it's rainy today, my wrist hurts, my mathematics test was too hard, and if I don't take a nap, I might get grouchy. No one likes to see me grouchy. o.O; Hopefully I'll be refreshed by tomorrow. Have a nice weekend everyone!

Ouch ;_; It's that time of the month where you wish you weren't female. Too much pain... (ignore my complaining, please ^^) The only interesting thing about today was a conversation I had with my history teacher. He was talking about his days in university, particularly a very hard philosophy course that he took. He studied for the exam for weeks and weeks, and on exam day, he was handed his paper, and what was there? For a 3 hour exam, only 1 question. 1 question! And what was the question? Simply... (or perhaps not so simply ^_@) WHY? So he wrote, and used all 3 hours to finish his exam paper. In the end, he failed... ^^; But the student with the highest exam mark amazed everyone. For all he had written in response to the question, "Why?" was "WHY NOT?" o_o

Another busy day! *sighs* My only great consolation was that I was able to get cookies from the café that were freshly baked and straight out of the oven. Yum!
My chemistry teacher is evil, however, for giving us a pop quiz, with questions on it that I don't believe we had even discussed in class. Grr >.>; She was in an unusually happy mood today, and I guess that was why. Evil, I tell you! I'm hoping she'll make a mistake when showing us demonstrations like she did before, she doesn't like being laughed at... and that's just about the meanest thing you'll ever hear me say. ^^;
Apparently there is an information meeting on Thursday for the trip to Spain in March. I had almost forgotten how much I wanted to go, but I do hope my parents haven't! I'm still very far from having saved enough money to go, however. ;_; *prays for good fortune* I might just have to wait until next year's trip, and hope that it's a nice location as well...
I'm in need of a little nap right now... even near the beginning of the week I have so little energy. ._. So please understand that this may be the reason why my blog entries have been so boring and incoherent lately. ^_-x Bon soir...

The English story that I had to write took me a very long time! ^^; Eventually, my idea came from looking at a list of proverbs, and soon after I chose a French one - "It is by believing in roses that one brings them to bloom." And so of course I wrote a cheesy fairytale about a little girl in a village, whose roses never bloomed because she didn't believe in them, or anything for that matter. *insert a shed tear here* A knight comes into the picture, it closes with the "happily ever after....", yadda, yadda... the end!! I was relieved to see in class today that many people had resorted to writing fairytales, but in the end, the teacher forgot all about them so he never even asked to see them! Mreh. >.>;
I've realized now that the next five months will be very stressful... which is why I haven't had the time to work on my collective & other web sites. ;_; But on the positive side, I think I'll have much more free time next semester (if the Bio textbook doesn't kill me alone ^^x) and I can work on them then. I guess I should put up a notice at my collective, ne?
Ah... Garion, no problem! Very nice new layout as well. Chobits manga looks cute. ^^

Very tired... I stayed up late on Saturday night to finish the huge amount of math homework I had. Because I missed school on Thursday, I had twice as much. Also did my chemistry, and reviewed the wave mechanical model of the atom... I wish it was as simple as Bohr's model. ;_; Now, all I have left is English: read the first 3 scenes of Macbeth, and write a one-page story on absolutely anything. So much freedom! So few restrictions! But Isabela has so little creative energy today! So how shall I do this assignment? o_O;
Garion, I'm glad you're blogging again, and even though it might be tough right now, I truly believe things will become better with time! ^_^ Unfortunately, the news is still grim today; even my penpal in Germany was so shocked and saddened by what happened in the U.S... indeed the whole world feels it.

As today is an international day of mourning, I send my prayers to everyone who has been affected by the tragedy in the U.S., but also to the other innocents who have suffered from terrorism the world over.
Whew. Today was a busy day; I can't belive I missed so much at school, in simply a day. The most exciting thing I was told of was that there was a small sodium explosion in our chem class, due to the teacher's mistake. I'd like to have been there to laugh at her, because she tends to ridicule us for the tiniest mistakes, and there she was, making a possibly dangerous one herself. ^^;
I finally found volunteer work today!! That's right, I'm the new assistant at my school's library, every Friday during my lunch hour. (Yep, I had to give up my lunch hour... but my high school diploma requires it, I suppose.) Apparently my duties do not only consist of sorting & labelling books, but some computer applications and PowerPoint presentations. Hmm... that could be useful, considering that I didn't take a computer course this year. And further more, I've also gotten an application for driving school (in the Spring) and thus I feel like I accomplished a lot today. ^^v
My ancient history lesson today was very interesting... my teacher has so many copies of ancient fossils stored in this box-type thing with shelves, that I'm sure anyone who stumbled upon it out of nowhere might be a little bit shaken. I'm looking forward to learning about ancient Greek and Roman civilization though too, but that's not until a couple of months down the road. ^_-
Well, no more rambling about school... it's the weekend now, and what a week it's been too. Please everyone, just sit down, relax, and be at peace a little. ^_^ *goes to take a nap*
*comes back* By the way, thank you for the link, Daine! Happy belated birthday. ^.^
