:: BEAR with me. :: Sunday, November 12, 2006
I want to update about my second trip to Sherwood Towers but that has to be put on hold for the time being.
I have to start making my pupils' cardboard bear costumes for the drama presentation this Wednesday.
So I'll be back again once I am done with the costumes.

:: Buzzzzzzz... :: Saturday, November 11, 2006
Sorry if you can no longer stand my baby entries, but what to do, I am just an archetypal pregnant blogger. So bear with me.
Tatek and I had some serious talking today about what else but his current love, the Quinny Buzz. He was still thwarted a great deal that his dreams of seeing his first child in a Quinny Buzz couldn't be fulfilled.
But that was before my conversation with Oni.
See, right after talking to Oni, everything changed. Bad news turned to good news in an instant. What good news, you are asking? We can buy our Quinny Buzz after all, that's what!
How come, you are asking now?
See, according to Oni, a newborn baby does not really need a stroller. Why, everyone will be waiting/fighting for his/her turn to carry the oh so delicate and nice smelling baby. But if I insist on using the stroller still, I can. If not, I shoul just wait until my Little S is at least three months old before I can officially start using the stroller.
Well, well, well.
Why didn't we think of all that in the first place?
What Oni told me does make a lot of sense, doesn't it? Sad to say Tatek and myself lack the common sense at this point of time. Blame it all on our extreme anxiety and zeal. First time parents, mah?!
Insya'allah on that.
Meanwhile, black reflection or red flame reflection?

You choose wisely. But we decide ultimately, hokay? :)

:: Excess Baggage. :: Friday, November 10, 2006
Very good. My hospital bag is pretty much ready. We have bought almost all the essentials for Little S and myself. Yes, I have even bought that massively huge nursing bra!! I hope nobody sees me in it. Tatek has dumped it inside the hospital bag (and never to be seen again, I hope!).
"Wah, how come your bag is packed so early?" Daddy questioned.
Well Daddy, in case you have put it behind you after having four kids, we can never know when the little one wants to pop out, you know? Maybe not that soon. But maybe soon also.
Tatek even had a dry run on how he would quickly grab the hospital bag behind our room's door should the time come for me to rush to the hospital. With the made up unnerved look on his face, and that very Mat-Sentol run, he made me fall down laughing on the bed when he did that dry run, I tell you.
May I suggest a dry run with me instead, since I am the one here giving birth? Not the hospital bag, Tatek love. '-'
On a disheartening note, we cannot own the Quinny Buzz after all, and its all thanks to our dear carseat which we had purchased about two months ago. We were still quite blur about carseats and Quinny when we purchased the carseat that time. We thought wrong. We really thought it was a Maxi-Cosi carseat, the only carseat compatible with Quinny Buzz. Fat hope. We checked our carseat again just now only to discover that it is a Mothercare carseat, NOT a Maxi-Cosi.
So, goodbye Quinny Buzz. Just like that.
Tatek is still disappointed. He really is 'smitten' by Quinny Buzz, I tell you. But its alright. We still have our second option to consider now; the Peg-Perego stroller.
Its better than nothing, Tatek.
Cheer up, love. :)
At least you still have me, your fat wife!!!

:: Bye Raya!!! :: Tuesday, November 7, 2006
Raya with the family.
Finally, our family was complete. Finally, everyone was in attendance for our last Raya outing. For a detailed update and more pictures, please proceed to Ili's blog. In short, I love my family a great deal.

Raya with the mummies. I swear I am never going to wear another butterfly top for as long as I am still pregnant. I looked unnecessarily gigantic on that day. I looked eleven months pregnant. So goodbye, butterfly tops. Special thanks to Oni for the lip-smacking food and the very poignant labour video, and Nura for always covering me and that darned butterfly top during our innumerable phototaking sessions. Thanks you both also for the great company, stories, tips and yes, the free entertainment by your ever so adorable children. Tatek and me couldn't stop gushing over them all, you know? And my parents adore you both.

And finally, please welcome me and Little S to our eighth month together.
:)
Oni, your turn to update!

:: The tortoise and the hare. :: Monday, November 6, 2006
Wah sey.
Nura, you win hands down already, lor. I was so pretty confident I was going to be the first one to update about yesterday but surprisingly, you are way faster than me!
You wait! Now, the heavily pregnant Diah has to make her way to school.
Meanwhile, to the rest of you, have a great Monday!

:: Aiya Raya. :: Saturday, November 4, 2006
I need a respite, a good breather. I am beat, almost dead beat. Since last Tuesday, I've been going out either with the parents-in-law or my parents. (Tatek is included and not sold separately, please.)
This evening, it will be another Raya outing with my family. We have not been going out much for Hari Raya this year, to begin with. Today might possibly be the final Raya outing for my family this raya. After today, no more. Raya outings are getting a bit too mundane. Or is it just me and my ballooned self?
Then tomorrow, it will be Raya with the parents-in-law in the afternoon, and Raya with two very hot mummies in the late evening.
The day after tomorrow, it will be back to school. No more marriage leave for me, but that's alright. I am really keen to know how well (or not so well) my class has performed for the final year exams.
What?! You think only parents are concerned? Us, teachers are equally concerned, hokay?
Meanwhile...
We are really looking forward to your arrival, Little S.

:: Busybody. :: Wednesday, November 1, 2006
I want to update about today, but I am too tired.
The entry can wait. Maybe I'll update tomorrow. Or the day after. Or better still, when my leave is over.
I feel so busy all of a sudden.
Nite!

:: LEAVE. Me. Alone. :: Tuesday, October 31, 2006
So I will be on leave from tomorrow till Friday. Why, I am simply clearing my three days worth of marriage leave.
What??
Okay lah, I know the marriage leave is only for newly weds. I know it has been almost a year since I got married. I know I am already seven months plus pregnant. I know the marriage leave is thus, a bit redundant in my case. Bla bla bla.
But I also do know that I have till December before the leave expires. I know I wouldn't let three days of paid leave just slip away. I know I need a good short break after the exams. I know Little S needs a break from school too.
So there.
And since it is three days of MARRIAGE leave, I plan to spend it wisely with who else but my husband, Tatek. Without him, my three days of marriage leave wouldn't be made possible, see. I have a problem, though. I don't know how exactly I am going to spend the next three days.
Maybe stare at Tatek while he sleeps.
Or maybe, a cheap candlelight dinner.
What say you, Tatek <3 ?

:: The best career ever. :: Friday, October 27, 2006
I received an email from the mother of one of my pupils.
Dear Mdm Diah,
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.
It's wonderful to know that my son has a very caring and concerned teacher.
Thank you once again.
With warmest regards,
Mdm ********
Parents like her keep reaffirming my decision to stay put in the teaching line for a very long, long time to come.
It sure does feel really good to be valued for what you are doing, doesn'it? Forget them monetary rewards. Money is not everything. Money is never everything.
Teaching is.
It is indeed the most rewarding job. :)

:: What's Hari Raya? :: Friday, October 27, 2006
What's Hari Raya without ketupat and kueh tart?
What's a Hari Raya entry without pictures?
What's Hari Raya without a pose next to the new car?
What's Hari Raya without the old and young minahs in baju kurung and selendang?
What's Hari Raya without the old and young mats in baju kurung and songkok?
And finally, what's Hari Raya in a beautiful NEW house without Boolit..

and beautiful OLD maids to boot?
Right, Nurul?
Grrrr.
