I am sick already of introducing myself over and over again just because I change my blog skin as often as I change my clothes (and undergarments).
The one thing I am never sick of telling you is my beautiful name, Diah.
The rest?
Read me and discover.

:: You think you can shoot? :: Monday, May 8, 2006

Party is over. Time to mind your own business now.

Today I wanna talk a bit about my friendship with Nurul. I think I need to because there are a lot of people out there who love to make silly assumptions. And their assumptions are ooh so wrong all the time, I can go barmy. Hence, this entry.

First thing first, let's get the facts right. I have been friends with her for six years now. That's right, she was not even known six years ago. In fact she was a nobody. Then she got in 'Juara', a talent show seeking for new talents. She did not win. She was the second runner up. So okay, by then she was a bit known already, not as an artiste, but as a mere 'Juara' finalist. Then gradually, with her hard work, her luck and our blessings, she climbed herself up the ladder with her long legs. She is not exactly on top of the ladder right now, but she is not at the bottom either. Her long legs are stuck in between. To make things worse, she sucks at the game 'Snakes and Ladder'.

Questions. Should I leave her high and dry, and stop mentioning about her altogether in my blog just because she is somebody now? Should I not blog about my outings with her and my family just because she is a public figure now? Should I tell her to sever all ties wit me and my family just because she is a so-called celebrity in your eyes?

More questions. Am I trying to share the publicity with her by posting our pictures together in my blog entries? Am I trying to share her publicity by being her best friend?

Do not be silly.

Had I wanted that much media hype, in the very first place I would have sent an application form for myself, not for her.

Try putting yourselves not in my shoes, but in Nurul's shoes. Just because she is an artiste, everything else has to change, including her friends? Just because she is an artiste, she is not deserving of a normal life? Just because she is an artiste, she cannot mix with peasants like me, and instead have only celebrities as her friends? If that is the case, then I wouldnt want to be in her shoes, though we have the same shoe size.

My blog is my private space. Not Nurul's. She has her own private space. The reason why I achieve a very high number of reads everyday, I do not know. The reason why a lot of you bother to email me each day to tell me how much you appreciate my entries and my NOT SO GREAT layouts, I do not know too. But YOU should know, because you are the one who frequent my blog. YOU should know because you are the one who email me. I don't. My job is to purely update it, not frequent it 24/7 like a frenzied fool just so that I would achieve a high number of hits each day.

And the only reason why I am really proud of having Nurul in my life is humbly because she is my best friend of six years. Not because she is a so-called celebrity.

So lesson learnt? If you wanna shoot, aim properly first.

Ok, enough is enough. I am getting bored.
